What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Taking great photographs starts with understanding the subject, the equipment and how to get the best image with it. Photography is all about light, lines, and subjects and transferring that vision to the finished product.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Understanding what the client expects from the final deliverable is very important. We pay attention to the small details and what subject of the shoot is? Does the client have certain items they want to be included or excluded? Are there multiple items or sites that need to be acquired? What is the duration of video versus the content? We may already have a storyboard in mind that does not meet what the client is looking for, so it is very important to receive that initial input from the client. The list goes on, but the main things are to understand what the content the client expects to be covered.
What do you love most about your job?
It keeps me outside in the fresh air creating entertaining and useful material to help others express their vision and hopefully generate revenue.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Taking something I love to do and helping others get what they want out of photographs and video.
Why should our clients choose you?
SkyWise UAS is not a hobbyist looking for a quick couple of dollars who will provide you with a poor deliverable. We pay attention to the small details that go into operating drones. Privacy rights, safety, FAA regulations, site scouting, creative planning all are factors that are very important to each job that we do. SkyWise provides continuous high-level execution for our clients with quality data to market and promote, assist in progression reporting and maintaining information continuity between the job-site and off-site teams and stakeholders and deliver a satisfying product. We have over 5 years experience flying and we follow a strict safety policy while using the FAA's National Airspace to obtain data. We do a full safety analysis of every job and if it's not safe we simply won't do it. Some operators won't think twice about flying over a large crowd of people or other high-risk locations. Not even the coolest footage is worth obtaining if it can't be obtained with the safety of everyone around. We carry a drone-liability policy through Global Aerospace Insurance, something that most drone operators do not carry due to the high cost. We also carry full business insurance policies, including workman's comp.
