I host bootcamps with my friends through SWF.  At first, it was just a casual thing to do a random Saturday together, but ever since we had one bootcamp with her, everyone keeps asking me for more.  It was such a hit and left me feeling energized for the rest of the weekend.  The location was also great and convenient (in Central Park). Signed up for Skill and Will Fitness with Melissa, and it was by far the best decision ever! She has a warm spirit, and constantly motivating me to do better each session.  I currently suffer from Lupus, Sjogrens, and Fibromyalgia so becoming healthy is a must. I signed up with Skill and Will because I was in so much pain that walking alone was difficult. Mel put me on a special training program to not only get functional and active but to lose weight. It was gentle at first, built up in difficulty and now I can do things I never imagined I could do, I've lost 17 pounds and I sleep better at night, have less pain in my joints.  She and her team also are extremely well informed, give great nutritional advice, and work to ensure you are safe through everything they teach you.  I was so impressed I have Mel and her team now training my three kids, including my son who was injured over the summer.  Thanks, my life is better. I train with Mel at the Universities at Shady Grove. The campus has an AMAZING deal with Skill and Will. I love my training sessions. I was completely sedentary and out of shape, and I wanted to find someone who could tailor a workout for my fitness level. Mel has done a wonderful job, and she is patiently working with me to increase my lower back strength. Because I asked specifically to strengthen my back, we do a lot of weights and core strengthening exercises. Mel is always on the lookout for good form and safety, but at the same time she (and I) wants results. At the end of the session, she stretches me out for a full 10 minutes which is sorely needed - no pun intended. I have never once felt judged or shamed for not being able to do something. Excellent customer service. Great work ethic. Always on time. Loved how creative Mel is with keeping you motivated and on point. I never knew what she had in store for me every night until she arrived. She always changed it up so I wouldn't get bored. And she's very flexible in working in large or small spaces in your home. These trainers are AWESOME to work with.  I purchased a Groupon to try out one-on-one personal training sessions with this company, and I am so glad that I did!  I first started training with the owner, Melissa, back in March and have been working with her and her employee, Christian, ever since.  I am cheap (hence the use of Groupon) and hate to spend money on things such as this, but working with Melissa and Christian was so great that I ended up buying additional sessions at the regular price.I had organized two three month boots camp with them, and all the participants enjoyed it because it gave us all that extra push to meet our fitness goals.  Scheduling is very flexible, and Melissa is always very accommodating by squeezing me in for last minute sessions.  The trainers will put you on an exercise regimin and offer nutritional tips so that you can get the best weight loss results.  I am admittedly lazy when it comes to my workouts, but they are not the type of trainers who holler, judge you, or make you feel bad about yourself.  They positively motivate me to get back on track and encourage me to be better.  I have recommended this company to several of my friends, and ALL of them have come back to me thanking me for the referral! I have been training with Mel (owner of Skill and Will Fitness) since returning from a very long sabbatical of working out. I have had immense help and encouragement from her to get back into my fitness routine.  I even met my goal of fitting into a bridesmaids dress in just 3 months.  She is willing to listen to you gripe about not wanting to work out, but finding creative ways to encourage you to workout. Skill and Will Fitness is a personal training company that customizes each plan for each client. We will look at your lifestyle and fitness goals in order to write a plan that will help you reach your specific goal.

The secret to getting the body of your dreams is consistency. In order to get in shape and maintain your dream body, you must make lifestyle changes.

Clients should choose Skill and Will Fitness because we will write you a custom plan to help you achieve your goals. There isn't a 1 size fit all work out routine. Our custom routines will take into consideration your goals, lifestyle and workout preference.

Once we map out your custom workout plan, our personal trainers will guide you through each workout to ensure you are performing each one correctly. They will then help you progress at a safe rate.
