Dr. Jeannette is a compassionate and skilled practitioner. I have undergone acupuncture treatments for tendonitis in my foot, as well as a strain in the lumbar spine. The treatments have promoted healing for both problems, and the experience is very relaxing, with potential benefits for the entire body. From the waiting area to the treatment rooms, the office provides a peaceful atmosphere in a lovely setting. More...

Referred by my doctor, I went to Shirley for hypnotherapy to quit smoking. Chantix, nicotine replacement (gum, patches and vaping) weren't working. I didn't know what to expect, but after my session I just...stopped...smoking. (It's been nearly two months as I type this and no nicotine in any form.) I still have urges, but have been able to overcome them easily. I've used the recording of our session a few times as well, and that's been very helpful. Thank you, Shirley, for listening so carefully and helping me beat cigarettes! Five Stars. More...

I’ve been seeing Shirley Furman for almost 3 years. She has helped me cope and handle a myriad of subjects and serious mental health struggles. She is very knowledgeable and keeps up to date about new findings in her field; she really loves what she does. She listens extremely well, is compassionate, nonjudgmental, and has tissues at the ready for the really difficult subjects. I have grown so much and recommend her highly. More...

Shirley is valuable and unlike any other healer I have met. After spending years seeing over 20 therapists, doctors and healers and trying all kinds of techniques, I finally found Shirley and I have been seeing her for over 3 years now. She incorporates eastern and western methods to heal all aspects of your being; body, mind and soul. She has many healing tools including sleep optimization, prescribing of medicine, genetic testing, hypnotherapy, counseling, CBT, CBTi, education and more. She is like a therapist and a psychiatrist in one but with a spiritual awareness. This is rare. I am grateful to know her and have received her help on my healing journey More...

Cassandra is an amazing massage therapist! She is highly skilled, thoughtful to my need, and a talented healer. And I have been a loyal customer of Cassandra for last nine years and I am very thankful for her as I have a lot of muscle pain from overusing them for work (technology!!). I am so happy that she has this new location for me to come and see her. Hope all of you can enjoy her services as much as I do every single time! More...

Q&A

I have always had a passion to help empower people to find ways to be their best.

I utilize Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), hypnotherapy, mindfulness, guided imagery, genetic testing and medicine in a dynamic approach to help clients remove barriers to better handle stress and improve their quality of life. I enjoy helping clients conquer insomnia without having to depend on sleeping pills with my unique combination of Hypnotherapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBTi). Some of my main areas of focus include Sleep Enhancement, Hypnotherapy, Medicine Management, Counseling, Smoking Cessation and Weaning off Benzodiazepines (tranquilizers).

I've always enjoyed challenges personally and helping others meet their own challenges.

When I started my career as a pediatric nurse I consistently got good reviews except for one area where I always “needed improvement.” The reviews stated that, “She spends too much time talking with patients.” This was a clear early sign that my calling was not medical or surgical but instead in psychiatry; in working with people’s emotions and minds.

One time while working on the hospital floor the doctors had to do a spinal tap on a 10 year old girl who was screaming and terrified. They were trying to hold her down without success. I asked them to give me 15 minutes alone with with frightened girl. I proceeded to use hypnotherapy and breathing techniques I had learned to help her remain calm as I gently held her hands and helped her breathe through the procedure. The doctors proclaimed they wanted me for all the kids who needed a spinal tap. Helping this girl was so nourishing that I knew this was important to my career and calling as a healer.

When I transferred into Labor & Delivery I enjoyed another avenue to use integrative techniques instead of medication alone. I got to enjoy developing and teaching Childbirth Preparation courses to couples so mothers could increase their ability to go through labor with less medication and be more present and enjoy their babies’ births more.

After I started counseling with a focus on postpartum depression, it became evident that most depression and anxiety that was labeled as “Postpartum Depression” was mostly due to sleep deprivation. When I was able to get new moms to sleep 6-7 hours instead of 2-3, they rarely needed medication and were able to enjoy their newborn babies. This is when I learned the importance of sleep and how many mental health disorders can be caused or worsened by sleep deprivation. This also reinforced that not all problems are best solved with medication. Sometimes focusing on the basics like sleep can make a tremendous difference in a patient’s mental and physical health.

From stress, depression and anxiety to OCD, PTSD and insomnia; helping people reduce their suffering is what drives me.

I am one of the few psychiatric practitioners that actually listen and get to know you before just writing you a prescription. I care and am compassionate in my healing approach. I work from an integrative and holistic approach to make sure that you have sustainable life improvements.

Services

I am a CBTi sleep specialist working with clients who need help with sleep and want to sleep better. I help eliminate sleep delay, sleep deprivation and insomnia while improving sleep hygiene and the quality of sleep so you can get deep sleep.

I am a certified hypnotherapist. I help people eliminate bad habits and create healthy habits via the subconscious mind which determines 95% of what you do. I utilize this 95% to make healing easier and more effective.

As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner I prescribe medicine including anxiety medication and antidepressants. I provide this service as a part of my holistic and integrative healing approach.

I offer mental health therapy & counseling via CBT, DBT, CBTi and MBCT in an integrative and holistic approach to treat anxiety, depression, stress, PTSD, OCD, sleep issues and even sports plateaus.

As a Certified Quit Smoking Specialist I offer a 1-session Money-Back Guarantee to help my clients quit smoking cigarettes successfully. I help people who don’t know how to quit smoking and makes it easy by blending hypnotherapy and counseling.

I integrate the Ashton Method with other modalities to help my clients safely wean off anxiety medication (benzodiazepines) & sleeping pills so the body and mind can return to homeostasis.

When all you need is to check in on your medication and make sure everything is going well.
