I've bought some great stuff from Arthur's, I still remember riding my bike over there and staring in at an Ibanez Ric 4001 copy in Fireglo through the front doors and windows while they were closed and just drooling at the Fender Jazz basses they had!!

I went to the after Christmas sale with my son and got a great deal. What I like the best is that it was my first time to attend Arthur's and the staff were very cool. I will definitely be back and being able to stop in at a mom and pop style music store is very cool. We had a great visit! More...

This is one of the great old music shops that has endured. A nice selection of used and vintage, as well as some not so often seen brands. Anything but cookie cutter big box. Very helpful staff with no pressure. If you don't like the place or have a gripe, trust me... It's you, not them! More...

Great store! The staff is always friendly. Good selection. They usually have what I'm looking for. The time they didn't have the item I wanted they ordered it for me and discounted it. It arrived within a few days with no problem. More...

I have been going to Arthur's for years. I have bought Teles, Strats and every oddball guitar I could find. Linda is a great person and runs the store like it should be. They have repairmen on hand to fine tune your guitar if you don't know how. I am currently renewing my father's '53 Martin D-28. The tech there ground down an ancient full body pickguard from 1956. The pickguard was created by Mr. Arthur. Now Amy is involved so Arthur's will be around for my grandkids to go and look and buy from. Sam Ash and Guitar Center can not offer what Arthur's does: You are one of the family when you shop there. More...

I would like to thank Arthurs Music again for taking great care of me. Over the years you have set up my guitars.Youve sold me guitars and equipment, and backed and them up with quality tech support. My last two visits have netted me four instruments. My Dean V plays and sounds like a dream. When I saw the turquoise tele,to say I was in love would be an understatement. As soon as I picked it up I said "Sold" it's a pleasure doing business with you and supporting local business! More...

Me and my boyfriend stopped in because we we're passing through and stayed @ a hotel nearby. This music store is THE BEST music store I've EVER been to! They have an extensive selection for guitars, banjos, mandolins, electric, acoustic ect! They have everything from native American flutes to steel drums to accordions & even rare and exotic pieces! VERY IMPRESSIVE! the staff was EXTREMELY friendly & knowledgeable, they let us play with the instruments, gave us sound advice & even recommended a great place to eat lunch. We ended up buying a fabulous acoustic guitar and a wooden flute! Which both sound so beautiful! we are very happy with our purchases! And the pricing was just right! Thanks guys soooo much! We had a wonderful time! The people who work here make you feel like friends that you could easily just pull up a stool and crack a beer with! We definitely will be back every time we roll through! Very chill, with great laughs hidden in every corner of the store! This place is a GEM! If you are a musician/music lover DO NOT PASS THIS STORE UP! xoxo! More...

I bought my first guitar from here in 1976. I was an eleven year old kid who had to have his own guitar. I did the unthinkable. I passed papers, mowed lawns and trimmed shrubs all summer long to pay for it. I will never forget walking in there with $85.00 to buy the guitar I had been saving for. I was so disappointed when I walked in and it had gone up $12.00. My dad was with me and shared the story how I had been saving. They sold it to me for the 85 and threw in some picks and a cord book. I have been a customer for 40 years. I have bought many instruments and also sound equip.through the years. You might say they are a part of my history! More...

I wandered in after hearing about Arthur's and I was immediately charmed by Arthur's warm and cozy ambiance. Arthur's staff was friendly and helpful and I was particularly pleased to meet Arthur's current proprietor, Linda Osborne. When Linda asked, as any salesclerk might, "How can I help you today?" I felt, not like I was being guided towards a purchase but more like I was meeting an old friend who was welcoming me into her home. When I explained that I was interested in learning about fingerpicking Linda suddenly busied herself with finding an introductory book on the subject and, plucking it from a bin, she presented it to me with, "It's yours. I want you to have it." As if that wasn't generous enough, when I confided that I was interested in vintage Gibson guitars, Linda invited me to an upstairs office where she showed me her Grandfather's early '60s Gibson Charlie Christian. "The last person to touch this guitar was Joe Bonamassa," she said with a twinkle. Go visit Arthur's because, as anyone can see, it's is a magical place where an ordinary music store is transformed into an enchanting boutique bursting with delightful surprises. More...

Arthur’s is a true gem. If only there were more places that were family-owned for generations like this one. My wife’s grandfather worked here in the late 60’s & early 70’s. A great place to visit when we pass through Indianapolis. More...

I was in Indy for a layover and to combat boredom I decided to Uber over and check this store out.
I AM SO GLAD I DID! !!!!!! This is an old school music store like my home city of Louisville use to have. There is a variety of everything there! The staff is warm, helpful, and knowledgeable (I almost wish they were my family). I got a good quality practice/travel tenor banjo at a great price.
I look forward to visiting this store again. Wish they were closer to home.

A visit to Arthur’s is like a trip back in time. Make sure you have plenty of time to look around, pluck a string or two, and absorb the history and warmth. Arthur’s employs a knowledgeable staff and maintains it’s generations of family connection. You may not find exactly what you’re looking for (don’t worry...they can get it), but you’ll definitely appreciate one thing Arthur’s has that the big box stores don’t...soul. I’ll be back as often as I can. More...

After hearing about the store in a Joe Bonamassa video, I thought if I ever had the opportunity to visit Indianapolis that I'd check it out! And I was not disappointed... probably the best guitar store I ever visited, full of tradition and equipment. So few of these stores around nowadays. The staff could not have been any nicer and accommodating to me, guitars and amps were aplenty and they had such a huge choice of music books! Forget about the online stores and get over to these guys and try out some guitars for real and these guys will help you find your perfect axe! Plus for musicians and music fans it's such a cool part of Indianapolis to visit and grab a coffee at the nearby vinyl/coffee shop More...
