Communication with this firm is HORRIBLE. I have called multiple times, gone to the office and asked for a phone call with no response. I have sent emails with no response. I haven't seen my lawyer or heard his voice since our first appearance 2 months ago, another lawyer was there for him in December. I would NEVER recommend this practice. I went there to retain a lawyer for a custody case. They took my money and failed to show up to two court dates. Their communication SUCKS as I've tried to call and email them multiple times and either got no reply or the secretary would leave a message and no one got back to me. When I was waiting for them at court asking where they were, if someone was coming, etc. I got a runaround answer of "someone's coming". when I asked when they couldn't tell me. This happened both times. The second date they eventually sent some woman from another practice who was late, inept and disorganized. I ended up winning my case without their help and they kept my retainer after doing no work. I'm a young single mother so that $2500 was wasted when I could've used it for many other important things. To say im pissed would be an understatement. We started my journey with Mr. Schlissel a bit over 5 years ago. I met him after having bad experiences with several attorneys in connection with an investment property I own in Massapequa. I had reached a settlement with my lender and sent them an agreement and payment but the lender tried to foreclose anyway. Mr. Schlissel filed papers with the court in a contested case and helped get the case dismissed. It was an amazing result! He is very experienced and knowledgeable and always protects my interests. With his help, I've been able to collect rent from my property for many years and the legal fees were minimal compared to my rental income. He also offered me flexible payment terms. He always takes the time to explain things clearly to me and has been very easy to work with. I highly recommend him to anyone who needs an attorney for litigation, foreclosure, or business matters.
