Probably one of my favorite local bakeries. The food is always fresh! Even if you buy a cake off the shelf it's fresh; and of course delicious or there would be no point. Â Â Their black and white cake and mocha cakes are amazing! The mocha balls are fantastic and by the way they'll even make that into a cake for you! And their lemon cake is divine! They have lovely breads and coffee cakes. Â Their quiche is very tasty. Â The staff is very pleasant and helpful, I totally recommend this bakery! More...

Scarsdale Pastry Center is pretty good! I found them on Yelp. After reading the very positive reviews, I had high expectations. Here is my experience:1) The store - Very organized & professional staff. Ordering was easy, but had to wait a little- busy place. The people who work here are very friendly & helpful. Smiling, happy, very upbeat. If I worked in a pastry shop, I'd be smiling all day long too! 2) The pastries - nice selection. I chose the beautiful berry & fruit tart (see photo) - it was very fresh. The pastry cream was good, so was the crust. The price was decent too. Very beautifully done. 3) Other items - I also tried the seven layer cake. They sell it by weight, very convenient. No need to purchase more than you need. But you need it, don't you? I'm a dessert addict. Variety is nice. Â 4) The black & white cookies - unfortunately they were all out. Really would have liked to try them. Bet they're good....but didn't have a chance to get one, they were none.5) Price - Think the prices are good for the area. The portion size is fine. I really enjoyed the fresh fruit tart. I like this place ! More...

We ordered a red velvet cake for a baby shower and a dozen gluten free cupcakes. Both were absolutely wonderful. I also love their passion fruit and mango mousse cakes - gorgeous and decadent but you feel healthy because it's fruit based! I had attempted to order a red velvet baby shower cake from a competitor, well known bakery because it was closer. But because I wanted it red velvet AND Â decorated for a baby shower, they put me on hold 3 times and said I'd have to wait for "the Boss" to call me back - I'm STILL WAITING 2 weeks later - Martine's Fine Bakeshop!! Scarsdale Bakery didn't bat an eye and I'm so glad I didn't wait! More...

An oldie but goodie I forgot about. Â To find a bakery that is actually still good is hard these days. Â After visiting so many terrible tasting bakeries lately, this one I will up to 4 stars. Â Pastries were fresh and almond croissant was baked to perfection with a pretty good flavor. Â The only place I can find that still makes good Sarah Bernhardts! Â (sold by the half pound or only by the pound on certain days). Â Little jelly cookie they were nice enough to give to baby was delicious (yeah- I took a piece from him). More...

The pastries are always delicious and the people that work here are always wonderfully nice and helpful. Â The breads are artisan and super delicious and the break away melts are hard to pass up. After re-watching the Babka episode of Seinfeld i went to the bakery and got myself a toothsome Babka and really enjoyed it. The black and white cookies do not have overly firm cookie or a little hard frosting as is common, but that made them taste better than others that I've had. The assortment of cookies by weight was generous-- my kids like the thumbprints, pink buttons and chocolate chip cookies of several variety. Each of those are tasty. More...

Mauricio( owner) Â asked which are my favorite cookies --- that's easy --- anything with chocolate! Especially the ones with jelly in the center, and dipped in chocolate on the end --- heavenly!

Came here because of a Groupon deal. This place has a great selection and fresh Black & Whites. I hate when places individually wrap them to keep them moist. Not this place! I'll definitely be going back. More...

A special bakery in a mini-strip mall in Scarsdale. Come here for the world-renowned "Sarah Bernhardt cookies" - a mix of coconut or marzipan and chocolate fudge-like cake (? ) then dipped in liquid chocolate and hardened. The "by-the-pound" cookies were yummy as well; I ordered a small sample of the raspberry thumbprint. The challah could have used a bit of work; it wasn't particularly fresh, nor particularly eggy the way I usually like it. Not a real connoisseur, though, so I'll leave it to others to sample. The chocolate croissant (though probably should be renamed pain au chocolat as it didn't seem like a real croissant) was appropriately layered, with nice chocolate filling inside and moderately flaky layers of dough on the outside.I'd like to revisit this place ad infinitum and keep trying new things. Wow.Wow. More...

I've definitely been to better bakeries (especially at this price point) but there's just something about this place - or maybe I just really like the things that I *do* like, which are the marzipan rainbow cookies and the almond/coconut macaroons. Other things I've had (cookies, babka, chocolate cake) were too sweet or one-dimensional. I don't think they could compete with many of the bakeries in Manhattan for taste, but all the same I still like coming in for those select items. And sometimes I even like coming in once a week for them. :) More...

Scarsdale Pastry  carries an amazing Danish confection called a "Sarah Bernhardt".  This treat became associated with the Danish bakery Jespersen's in Scarsdale decades ago, and luckily Scarsdale Pastry continued this Scarsdale  tradition when Jespersen's closed. (The Danes named the cookie in honor of the famed actress's visit to Denmark.) It's a small light macaroon dipped in dark chocolate with a ganache chocolate center.  To die for!  (just a word of caution - I believe Sarah Bernhardts might be seasonal, so check before you go.) This is the ultimate bakery. Period. If this were in England, the Queen would provide this place with her Royal Seal of Approval. The style is Austrian, sublimely consistent. And with a tremendous variety of options, one will never, ever run out of tasty treats to try.If you don't have a sweet tooth, this is probably not the place for you. If you appreciate how chocolate, pastry, fruit, and sugar can be combined in a thousand ways, this is your place of pilgrimage.Best choices: challah, breads, chocolate apple meltaway, marzipan (only place to find this kind), leaf cookies, and the Ultimate Cake: fudge cake with ganache icing. This cake must be 1000g of sugar per sq in. Their fruit pies are also beyond excellent. And they are the *only* purveyor of almond macaroons during Passover. The only drawbacks are the rising cost of sugar and your waistline :) More...
