I did a month long unlimited pass, and I highly recommend it. The classes were challenging, but doable. The stability board takes some getting used to, but oh man does it work. I felt so strong at the end of the month. The instructors were helpful and welcoming. More...

I was a student athlete all my life and I hate the gym. After I graduated I needed something to fulfill that same intensity I got from working out. Sandbox fitness is great for that. The sand & balance boards make any simple movements harder. But if you're worried that it's too hard , everything can be simply adjusted. The 45 min class hours vary from 6am to 8pm. I love the location and the community involved at Sandbox. I highly recommended Minna, Wendie, & Jessica if their class times work for you. Everyone provides a good workout. Some other instructors like Kayla , Mike, & Brooke are also great. There is meter parking on the street and a few spots in the back of the building. More...

The best classes you'll find. Every class is challenging and fun for all levels. There are elite athletes working out next to absolute beginners and everyone is getting a great workout in a friendly, supportive environment.  Don't get me wrong, the instructors really enjoy our moans and groans. They also are creative and professional and keep you healthy and safe while torturing you. I've been to lots of gyms and studios and have found my favorite place in Sandbox Fitness. More...

I love the stability surfboards. They are challenging, but you'll eventually get the hang of them. I know the board can seem intimidating, but don't let that stop you from trying out these classes. I enjoyed all the classes, but my favorite where the surfset, surfset strength and surfset Barre. After a month, I was definitely stronger. More...

Okay. Wow. Totally underestimated this class and overestimated my abilities lol. Such a great workout! I took the Surfset Barre class with Katie and holyyyy was it hard. I'm in pretty good shape and I was drenched in sweat by the end of the class. This was my second time taking a class at Sandbox. Since my first time was a little disappointing (8am class with a new instructor) the owner, Minna, actually emailed me and offered a free class. I thought that was super thoughtful. Great management and studio. Would 100% recommend. More...

I started here in spring 2018. I love this place for so many reasons - excellent instructors, a variety of classes, and I don't have to worry about wearing gym shoes! I love the down-to-earth, friendly vibe that Minna and David have created. Classes by Tonni, Delfina, Minna, and Jessica are my favorite - they are so friendly and personable! I had taken a break when I started triathlon training, and then I joined 24 Hour Fitness to keep my expenses low. But I realized how much less I exercised unless I really loved going to work out. I recently rejoined and don't regret it one bit. It is worth the investment. More...

This place is a one-big happy family! I joined Sandbox 3 years ago, right around the time they first opened up. From the start, I felt very comfortable and not intimidated by the classes or workouts. All of the instructors are very encouraging, kind, and since class sizes are smaller, I got more individual attention/corrections on my technique. Also, not to mention you get the workout in the sand and feel like you are at the beach. Its a prime location because although thw beach is not too far away from the SF Valley, LA traffic is insane and this gym helps you get a full-body beach/sand workout without the long drive! Not only that, but you have amazing and kind instructors to help you meet your personal body goals. You also burn more calories working out in the sand, so sometimes I would still see results and improvements days after one class! Its awesome! My favorite instructors are Jessica, Tonni, and Minna. They each bring something completely different to each class, but its great because it keeps workouts new and challenging! More...

What an amazing class! I have to say this class is a mix of Pilates, yoga and barre classes except on sand! I really hate shoes and enjoyed working out barefoot on sand! The teacher Tobin was motivation and worked with me 1 on 1!Last night I took a class called Surfset strength with Jessica which was challenging, however didn't hurt my body! We had to do workouts while standing on the surf board and OMG that was challenging! Jessica told me to just focus on getting on the board and guess what I got on the board and by the end I was a pro! If it wasn't her believing in me I would have never gotten on the board! I can not wait until I try the boot camp today! More...

I have been going to Sandbox Fitness in Sherman Oaks since they first opened approx. 4-years ago. Classes at Sandbox Fitness are much more than just tough workouts; they are tough (yet fun) workouts IN THE SAND. It is a place that welcomes people of all ages, shapes, sizes, and levels. Whether it be Surfset (as seen on Shark Tank), Surfset Balance (yoga on a wobbly surfboard), TRX suspension training, Sandworks (bootcamp style circuit training), Tidal Turbulence (a combination of Surfset & TRX), Surfset Strength (use of various weights & resistance bands while on the boards), or Surfset Barre (pilates on the board) each class is different and challenging. The owners, Minna & David, as well as their team of trainers are all super friendly and will motivate and push you beyond what you think you are capable of. No two classes are alike and I would highly recommend trying them all as each instructor has their own style and playlists. Most instructors offer variations or modifications depending upon one's athletic ability and/or previous injuries. Not only is the studio well maintained, but they offer everything one could need for purchase or rental, ranging from water, towels, sand socks, and apparel. For those that do not live close by and like to workout before going to work, you should be aware that they do not have showers; this is the only thing they lack. Class sizes vary, but are never too large and just about everyone who goes there also has a great attitude and are welcoming & supportive of one and other. I have been going to Sandbox Fitness regularly since they first opened and still look forward to each & every workout. Prepare to sweat and have fun. Beginners should NOT be discouraged or intimidated at the beginning, as it is normal to fall off of your board. As a matter of fact even some of us who have been doing this a while still fall off from time to time... thank goodness for that SAND and for SANDBOX FITNESS! It is time to stop reading these testimonials and sign-up for a class or package and experience all of the above for yourself! BTW, your 1st class is only $10. More...

I googled sandbox and I found it very interesting and challenging.I decided to sign in to few classes. The classes are never the same! The teachers always trying to mix it up and challenge me.They motivate you during class and encourage you to show up to following day classes to keep you up in shape. Love  the idea of having your exercise in sand to keep you working out harder and not to Injure your self. The bord work out are the BEST!!! I WILL, I WILL I WILL get better each time I come in. I love the instructors. Everybody is so supportive. Sandbox Fitness is the best! Such a pleasure working with Minna, David, Jessica and Toni. Minna helped us host a charity fundraiser for Sharsheret, which went so well! Great studio with great teachers. There are so many class options and times, it's very flexible no matter what your schedule! I love going to the 5:30am or 6:30am classes! The balancing surfboard is a bit intimidating at first, especially for someone like me who thinks themselves awful at balance, but give it at least 3 classes and you get the hang of it and man does that thing make you strong to the core. They do have classes as well where little to none of the board is used, TRX and Bootcamp. Bootcamp with Minna Wednesday's is so fun, she brings her dog Oakley and, while he isn't allowed on the sand, he will run back and forth with you on the floor as your running in the sand, such a fun motivator! Remember to bring beach towels to class if you don't want to get too sandy and they also sell sand socks if you don't want to walk barefoot in the sand! The sand is such a great workout and an added level of fun! More...

Definitely burn a sweat with these classes! With the expectation of the barre class most of the other classes feels like a bit of cardio with your heart rate up as well as toning.  Barre is more for toning.  I always leave Sandbox fitness feeling like I got a great workout and I can always feel the burn the following days.  Instructors are great too! I live in the area and this place always caught my eye.  I thought the concept was fun and interesting. So when I came across the awesome deal they had on Groupon, I had to give it a try. I've taken a few of the classes they offer ....Surf Set, surf set strength and tidal turbulence. The first class you feel like a total clutz mainly focusing on finding your balance and staying on the board. But after that you really feel your core getting stronger. I see incredible improvement in my balance and over all strength. I highly recommend this place. The owner/trainer Minna is great, really encouraging, shows you how to modify if you have any injuries, etc.. Definitely worth giving it a try and changing up the routine a bit. More...

Sandbox Fitness is amazing!  After taking one class as a "trial" I walked away buying a package because of how great they are.  A wide range of classes are offered and the instructors are very helpful.  Sandbox helps you feel challenged, but not defeated.  Many of the moves can be altered to your fitness level if you feel it one move is too difficult or if you could use a challenge.  I encourage anyone who needs a good sweat to give them a shot. This review is very long overdue! I have been coming to Sandbox Fitness since October '16 and I absolutely love it. I am so thankful to have found this studio. The trainers are truly educated and want to see you achieve your goals. I love that the classes have clients that range in all ages, and that the trainers give modifiers for each exercise to either make the move easier or harder- depending on what you can handle. While I was looking for a studio to join, one of the things I really looked for was if the trainers paid attention to their clients forms. I was injured a year ago by a personal trainer, so I needed to join a studio with trainers that are educated and who really pay attention to their clients. Best, most unique studio out there! Since my last gym closed suddenly I've been on the lookout for a new place to call my gym home.. Simple enough- large sandbox, TRX ropes, surfboard set ups. Warm up was a jog around the perimeter of the sand box, and it's kind of an adjustment getting used to the sand. Def bring a beach (or large) towel for exercises on the floorThe workout was 3- 10 min rounds of 3 exercisesExample:15 Jump Squats onto the surfboard*run across to the TRX bands*15 pike ups with the TRX*run across back to the surfboards*15 hanging knee ups (completely blanking on the correct name)Then you'd have a one minute break and a new set of exercises to do for 10 min. I was def sweating and they're all really good core/strengthening exercises, I'd definitely recommend everyone to try it out. Minna was really friendly and helpful during the workout and her dog Oakley is really great cheerleader, running with you parallel outside of the sandbox More...

Pros: small class size, not crowded, diverse crowd (not typical LA cookie-cutter scene), perfect pitch music (not deafening), works your core, and 45 minute classes! Cons: parking is terrible (tandem parking is available in the back). Instructor provides modifications. There are straps hanging from the ceiling for those who really struggle with balance (Pick a surfboard close in the middle because the boards on the side don't have the balancing straps). Bring your own water because it costs $2 there. More...

I love this place! First of all, as a yoga teacher, I love any workout I can do barefoot. Also, I love the workout I got here. I spent an entire year inactive due to painful arthritis in my toes. Sitting around on the couch and doing nothing just made me have zero energy. As my pain started to subside with the help of medication, I wanted to get some guided help moving again. I was intrigued by the idea of working out on sand because from what I had researched it was much easier on the joints. I've been a plus size woman my entire life but I had always enjoyed being active before the arthritis developed. My goal going into the training was to feel better, get moving again, have more energy and not to be focused on weight loss and a number on the scale. I spoke to Sandbox Fitness owner and trainer Minna on the phone and explained my health issue and what I was looking for in terms of private training. I started working out with her in July 2016. She has listened to me 100 percent about my needs and tailored the training to me specifically. The gym is literally one big sandbox! It's so much fun to work out in the sand (feels like the beach and not the gym) and I have never felt any pain from training. My private training includes TRX, cardio, weight lifting and lots of core strength balance exercises using the Surfset boards. The Surfset board is like an hybrid surfboard / stand up paddle board but you I use it on land instead of water. When you are standing on the Surfset board you are using your entire body to balance. It's truly a full body workout. It took me until the 8th session to feel like I wasn't going to fall off the board. It's definitely challenging. The board has straps underneath  that can be adjusted so that the level of difficulty balancing can be made harder as you advance in the training.  There are so many exercises that can be done standing, sitting, laying or leaning against the board. I use the edge of the board to do planks. I stand on the board and do squats or leg lifts. I lay on the board to do sit ups. Those are just a small selection of exercises I do on the board. Since I started training with Minna (16 sessions so far), I have increased my energy, gained muscle and definition and I'm fitting into a pair of jeans I couldn't wear for 2 years. I'm also moving my body more on a daily basis because I'm feeling better overall. Minna always checks in with me before we start a session and sees if anything is bothering me so we can adapt the workout if needed. Minna has a very easy going and down to earth personality. She's a very good cheerleader during the session and that helps get thru exercises that are challenging. She always lets me go at my own pace. If an exercise doesn't feel good, she knows how to adjust it so that it works for me. She keeps a close eye on my form and that's very important to me because I don't want to get hurt. Minna teaches many of the group classes as well. I haven't tried any group classes yet because I feel they may be too fast paced for the level I'm at now, but eventually when I'm more fit, I will try some of them. The only thing you need to bring to class is a towel as occasionally you will do workouts while laying on the sand. The sand is silica free and actually doesn't stick to you like sand at the beach so it's very easy to brush off if it gets on your skin. You work out barefoot or you can purchase booties they sell. One of the added bonuses to working out barefoot in the sand is your feet get super smooth just like after a day at the beach. They sell water and some sports drinks and do rent towels as well. The gym has a single bathroom / changing room. The gym has 6 parking spots (3 cars stacked in 2 rows) directly behind the building off the alley. There is also metered street parking and some free residential parking. If you're a dog lover, you will enjoy seeing Sandbox Fitness mascot Oakley when he's hanging out at the gym. He's a lovable young Rottweiler with a big chunky sweet face. I love days when Oakley greets me at the door because it's a great way to start off a workout. More...

I booked the monday morning TRX class through Open Sweat last week and had a great workout. Lila, the instructor, was very welcoming and did an awesome job making sure I knew what was going on. My favorite part was how, at the beginning of the class, Lila told me that the boards would be wobbly, but you don't really realize how wobbly they are until you get on the board for the first time. The class overall was very challenging, especially for your core, and I was sweating throughout the whole time! It was really fun trying to stay on the boards and do the exercises at the same time, adds a whole level of challenge to working out! More...

Feel the sand going through your toes...doesn't it feel amazing? I loved to get some exercise after that donut I just ate. I heard running in the sand is the best exercise but the beach is 30 minutes away. What?  I don't need to go to the beach to run in the sand? Show me how! You could say I'm in the fitness... Somewhat of a fitness fanatic. I'm always looking for the next cool work out... I get bored easily. I found Sandbox Fitness on a Class Pass a few months ago and I had to try it. I had seen their surfboards on Shark Tank and I was dying to try an exercise class that used them. I absolutely love the classes! If you think it's going to be easy guess again. These classes are going to kick your butt. They take a lot of stabilization and they use a lot of small muscles. If you've never been on a surfboard or a TRX before prepare yourself to work muscles you're not used to using. There are classes that focused on shaping, others on cardio and some with both. Either way you will definitely leave sweating. I had the instructor Minna and she was awesome. She took the time to modify movements for me because of my injuries. She was very patient and helped me through several of the movements. I thought these classes were going to be a piece of cake but they were way harder than I ever could've imagined! Looks easier than it is. Thank you for the great workout Sandbox fitness!! Don't forget your first class is free! More...

I didn't know what to expect when I came to Sandbox Fitness I was brought in because a friend reccomended it to me! Who new it was literally a Sand Box! And boy was it a work out, we forget the power of sand and how it intensifies the workout with this Bootcamp style of a workout everyone in their own station. My own concern is the sanitation of the sand and everyone's feet but I know they have some sand booties you could purchase if not you're pretty much barefoot! It is time to stop reading these reviews and sign-up for a class or package and experience all of the above for yourself! BTW, your 1st class is free at the Sherman Oaks location. More...

This guys are the best. I always suffered to stick to any kind of workout, as I was getting bored so fast. But in this studio it is so much fun! !! And I definitely see great results, while not lifting crazy weight or  working with boring  machines at the gym. It is also really good to work out on the sand, as it is safe for joints and etc. I am looking forward to every session: best trainers, bomb challenging  workout, great music, super friendly and warm atmosphere. I mean - can it get any better?! More...

What a workout. I live in Sherman oaks and am always driving up and down Ventura Blvd. and every time on the way home I pass this gym, so I figured why not try it out. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 only because I felt like the costumer service was lacking. I was trying to call throughout the whole day and couldn't get any one on the phone, so my friend and I just  went ahead and scheduled our first class online. First Class is Free!! Who doesn't love that? The prices are up there but if you like beach workouts this might be the place for you. No shoes, or socks allowed in the sandbox, and the sell/rent sand socks if you don't want to go barefoot. We all got in the sandbox. I want to say there were about 10 of us. I went with my friend. Minna (the owner) was running the class, and started us off by having us run laps around the box. That was the hardest part for me. Doing anything on sand makes things much harder. Then we did a bunch of circuits. I wish the lights were more mood lit. These were very bright and just made it uncomfortable for me, plus it wasn't hot for me enough. I was happy to try something new since I never did a workout on the beach. Just wish it was a little warmer, the sand was cold. Over all it was a good first experience. More...

I can't brag enough about this place! My first class I thought I was going to die :P but the energy and the motivation from Minna the instructor made me feel like I can do anything I put my mind to. I have been hooked ever since!  I'm 8 months deep and getting married soon. Sandbox has kept my mind and body on track and I know I will feel and look amazing on the big day:) I have made friends with a few fellow sandboxers and that's just a great feeling walking in and  knowing that we can push each other. Listen...... in the end It's sand, surf boards and more, of course it's a blast and your first class is free! See you in the sand. More...

I have been a fan of sandbox fitness for about 1 year, and I absolutely love it! The workouts are so unique, and every trainer is knowledgeable and helps you to really challenge yourself. I have tried so many different types of fitness classes and gyms, and sandbox has been the one that I have been the most loyal to, for good reason. There's nothing like working out barefoot (or with sand socks) on their comfortable, clean sand. It not only feels refreshing and cool, but it also challenges your body in a whole new way. You'll find yourself working up a sweat before you know it, and if you keep going you will see a noticeable different in your strength and balance, at least that's how it was for me :) I do feel that sandbox has helped me progress towards my fitness goals tremendously, and I feel grateful that I get to work out in such a fun environment! I definitely recommend anyone to come check this place out, you get a discount if you sign up for a package the first day, plus your first class is free! It is totally worth it and you will definitely not be disappointed :) More...

Wow! I had a ton of fun on my first visit to Sandbox. I've walked past here several times being that it's in my neighborhood and always felt a bit intrigued to check the place out. Well, thanks again ClassPass I made a last minute decision about 7 minutes prior to class start time to book myself into the TRX 45min sesh.I had SO much fun! This place is awesome! I'd done spin at lunch and wasn't looking for a complete blow out workout, TRX in the sandbox was truly the perfect addition to my evening. Our instructor Minna was awesome! Minna incorporated cardio and burn to provide our class with a very solid express workout. She really made this experience great. Great instruction for first timers, fun music, energetic, encouraging, had a smile on her face and she was straight to the point which I adore. No nonsense bs'ing around - plain and simple, put your things here, do this, do that! Her instruction was perfect to follow and she made sure to come around and check everyone's form.I'm counting the days until I can get back into this class. I also liked it so much, I'm a bit hesitant to try the others just incase I don't enjoy the board classes as much as the TRX class.I'd definitely recommend Sandbox Fitness for a really fun workout.I walked here but if you must drive, I believe it's a metered parking situation along Ventura Blvd. More...

The premise is adorable but the workout is def not lightweight -- a beach workout -- sand and surfboards and all- working every muscle and often leaving you twice as buff as an ordinary spin or kickbox class. The balance boards tripped out as surfboards are ingenious and as any so cal'er knows - walking in sand already ups the calorie burn!! I adore the owners who put their heart into everything - the make you feel most welcome.  The one thing they really need is better air circulation for health n comfort and some freshening up of the digs in their original location - it's looking like there's been 3-5 hardcore sweatinducing classes every day for 2 years without any freshening up.  Try the beginners class - you'll love it!! David and Minna, the two awesome owners of Sandbox Fitness, have been kicking my butt in these classes for more than a year and I'll be honest, I'm still sweating and exhausted after every class - they and their fun crew of teachers like to help you push your limits.  I really like the mix of low-impact, high cardio and core workout in classes like Tidal Turbulence and Surfset.  Every class is different, but I feel like it's the right balance of strength and cardio training for me.  I have to be cautious after a hip surgery years ago, but I've found that this class allows me to protect the old injury but work hard on the strengthening and conditioning I'm looking for.  Highly recommend, and don't be surprised if your first couple of classes are tough.  You'll get the hang of it! What can I say about Sandbox Fitness other than this is the place to go if you want to begin getting in shape.  After years of not exercising my wife bought me a 1 month membership at a silent charity auction to Sandbox Fitness.  I had never heard of them nor did I have any idea what they did.  Imagine my surprise when I went and found out it was all in the sand.  What I also did not know was how much they would help me over this initial month to get me back in shape.  The instructors cared about me and my current fitness, or lack there of, level.  I chose to do the TRX and Sandworks training.  I can say it is the best training I have been to.  When I started I had already lost 9lbs from a detox diet but with the help of Sandbox Fitness lost another 11lbs in a month with continued diet and training 4-5 times a week with them.  I am now in so much better shape.  My core is tight, my legs are strong and I feel full of renewed energy.  The low impact and ability to modify allowed me to strengthen my lower back and neck  without causing additional injury which typical of most special training.  Bottom line is I recommend this to anyone, especially people over 50 like myself.  Do not be afraid of being the oldest person in the class (I was most of the time), instead be excited you are getting the best level of training you can and do it in the SAND, Barefoot! 700th !!!!!!!!Pssst! Hey you, yea you over thinking about getting your body right and tight but you don't really like to exercise. Well my friend, I have the PERFECT solution for your flabby woes....SANDBOX FITNESS!!! This place was truly a unique experience!Booking Classes:1st off I love planning; I love putting things in my calendar, RVSP'ing and actually showing up. Sandbox Fitness really caters to my neurotic needs by allowing me to sign up online for each class. You could even book it in a series and add it to your Google Calendar. I love how simple it is and you can see beforehand if the class will be filled or not so you know to put some pep in your step for getting there on time. Parking:Parking is a bit annoying because it is located on the amazingly busy Ventura Blvd. They do have tandem parking in the back for about 6 cars but if it's a full class then you will need to park on the streets. I never had a problem finding parking so wasn't too much of a headache. Customer Service:The staff here is EXCELLENT. I mean everyone is super nice and so patient. David is the absolute best. He makes a genuine effort to learn your name and really push you in a positive way to keep moving. Really with the service this place is 5 stars. The Workout:Now this place is truly unique! The only place I've ever been to where the workout takes place in a giant sandbox. The sand provides extra resistance so can make a simple task such as jumping jacks seem like death. I really loved the Surfset classes where the workout takes place on a surfboard. It's great for your core and unsurprisingly great for balance. If you are taller than it's a bit more challenging but still equally fun. And once you get acclimated to the board you could really have fun without it feeling like a workout. It's certainly challenging but a lot of fun as well. Conclusion:One of the best workouts I've tried!! The classes are a bit pricey BUT well worth it if you pay a gym membership monthly/have a fitness budget. The place is great for those who have an infrangible hatred of traditional workouts and would like to try something fun yet challenging. Thanks David and everyone at Sandbox Fitness once baby girl gets PAID, I will be back to join the fun! More...

I consider myself someone who is fairly fit.  Prior to having my baby, I would run regularly, go for hikes, and workout with the Insanity DVDs.  Since the baby, I've been struggling to get back on the workout bandwagon.  So after almost 5 months, I decided to sign up for Class Pass to check out some different workouts.I signed up for a TRX class at this gym, not really knowing what I'd be getting into other than the fact that it'll be on sand.  I've never heard of TRX.  Holy canoli!  What a workout!  It's pretty much a band of death, suspended from the ceiling, that solely relies on your body weight.  Turns out the amount of body weight I have is more than I really could handle.  I was sore for 4 days!  I couldn't straighten my arms for 2 days!  And squatting?  Ugh...it was torture.  With all that being said, these are the types of classes that I enjoy.  The ass kicking kind that reminds you that you need to push yourself.  The great part is that you can increase or decrease the difficulty level as you need.  The instructor was awesome, super supportive, and really paid attention to your form. I'm always looking for new workouts. One of the instructors, Tonni, works at another studio I use. She's fierce and recommended Sandbox. 1st class is free so I figured I'd give it a shot. It was boot camp style. Not my favorite type of class but the time worked for me. The instructor, Katie, kicked my butt. I was really glad the class was only 45 minutes.     I decided to take advantage of their 20% discount to new clients and bought a series of 20 classes (the series is good for a year). I took my 2nd class with Tonni today. It was Tidal Turbulance (part TRX and part surf set). I actually thought that TRX was easier in sand. The surf set portion was definitely challenging. I can't imagine what an entire surf set class is like.     The only thing I'm not crazy about is the sand. It gets all over everything. You really need to pay attention or you'll kick sand in your face. The parking isn't great either. There are tandom spots but people don't always pull in far enough for 3 cars. I haven't tried street parking yet. It may be easier. All in all, I really like the classes at Sandbox Fitness. Definitely a different approach to working out. More...

What a fun way to mix up my typical workout routine! I took the Surfset class which is 45 minutes. It's about half cardio and have abs using the surfset board. I was definitely sweating A LOT. It takes a lot of balance and core strength to stay steady on the boards. Expect to shake and probably even fall off once or twice. They provide modification if you get too tired It's fun to work out in the sand, and you do clear your board off throughout class, but expect to leave a little sandy. My car is still covered in it. They have 2 tandem parking spots that can fit a total of 6 cars. I was kind of annoyed because I got to class a couple minutes early, which means i had to park at the way to the interior of one of the spots. I left right after class and had to wait 5+ minutes for the girl parked behind me to come out of the studio to move her car. If you think you'll be rushing to leave after class, don't park in their spots. More...

Sandbox fitness is everything. This review should of been written a long time ago! I love this place, its transformed me from wanting to just be thin to actually wanting to get muscle and real definition on my body. Every workout is different and targets different muscles. Its helped me grow and open my eyes to what fitness, being fit and healthy actually is. Minna and David are two of nicest and coolest people around. They always work closely with you on your posture and techniques. My arms used to be little pencils and now Theres muscle and definition i never thought i would see. Even if you cant do something they always show the modified version for beginners. I tell everyone about it because its become a place of happiness for me and i want other people to enjoy it too. Its nice to not have to sit in a gym and wait on machines where you dont even know if you are doing it right or go to a class at a gym where the instructors really dont care, they are just there to be paid. All of the instructors at sandbox care, they take time to talk to you, before and after, really building a trust and friendship with their clients. The only convincing anyone can do about this place is by trying it out yourself and finding the love in it! Also, the results do enough convincing to tell everyone about it. Dont doubt yourself before your first class, it looks intimidating but its actually a lot of fun and a great, sweat induced workout. My rant is over. :) More...

Came by to try TRX in the sand.  Sand you say?  Why yes... the gym is aptly named Sandbox Fitness as there is a box full of sand.  Class was upbeat, Minna had a great playlist on and was encouraging for the small group - getting us to complete sets, correcting our form; and I'd definitely try another class at this gym again.  We started off the class with cardio (running in various forms) in the sandbox and proceeded with more standard TRX moves from there.  I like the idea that you can dig your feet into the sand for balance, as I usually have issues with TRX and staying balanced on one leg on the ground.  Classes are barefoot, bring your own water and beach sized towel (some lying down is involved), and come prepared to workout.  :) More...

Just tried the TRX class for the first time and not going to lie it was a challenge! I was able to go in my own pace and It was a great workout! Minna is an amazing trainer and I loved the warm and personal attention she gives to make sure everyone is on track! I will definitely be back!! #workout #trx #personaltrainer #fitnessclass #tryitnow More...

This is an amazing idea for a gym.  It works on my balance and since I'm older balance is so important and it also helps my joints since I've aged i have all those cracking knees and shoulders, working out in the sand is the best.  Only good things for those gym and also the owners are amazing people.  Everyone needs to check this place out!! Took the SurfSet class this morning & it was an intense workout. Didn't help that I hiked Fryman before hand. Definitely looking forward to taking other classes!

This new gym in the valley is amazing! Genius idea. They bring the beach to you and you get an incredible workout! Surf set class is hard and intense. You get a full body workout and really work that core! The owners David and minna are sweet as can be and they are fantastic instructors. I highly recommend working out here any time you can make it!
