Rott n' Grapes is a must. Â The food and service was outstanding. Â Chef Chris is amazing. Three of us were there and we all had different things from the menu. The sweet corn risotto with grilled shrimp, and a hamburger with the four cheese Mac and cheese as a side and the grain salad with added steak and it did not disappoint. We went there early so parking was not an issue but later in the evening it would be difficult to find a spot. Take an Uber, take a Lyft, however you need to get there....just do it...I guarantee happiness. More...

I have to say, I no longer give 5 star reviews very easily. I have to be impressed and wowed with all aspects of my visit! This place hit a home run on everything! I was visiting Phoenix and called this place and asked if they had a TV and if so, could I watch a game with my home team from the East coast. They said yes and yes.My wife, son and I arrived and they put us in a loft area with a tv and already had the game on. We started with drinks and let me tell you, these folks know what they are doing! I am a bourbon and specifically an Old Fashioned fan. I think the bartenders name was Ari, forgive me if I am wrong, but this lady knows her craft! I told her to surprise me after a couple Old Fashioneds and told her the only requirement was bourbon! She did not disappoint. Amazing. My wife had to drive home as I really enjoyed her drinks. Now, let's talk food. We started with the charcuterie board, the arancini with borata (sp?) and a pizza for the boy. I could not stop eating. The arancini was some of the best I have ever had. The borata cheese with this is amazing! The board was top notch. The pizza at this place is amazing. Perhaps a tie with the best pizza I have ever had.Entree's were incredible. I had the pasta Bolognese because Cole, our server said I would not be disappointed. I am generally not a fan of bolognese, but I literally asked the chef to come up and I personally thanked him. The wife had the halibut with a delicious risotto. The bar downstairs is wonderful. The ambience of this place is warm and welcoming. Before I left, they showed us what they call the basement. A room downstairs, dark, it's own bar, tv and comfortable seating. If this was in Dallas, it would be my go to! Try this and I promise you will not be disappointed. More...

But, that's because it was so good!  The atmosphere is casual and friendly with lots of seating options.Props to the bartenders ... both times we've had amazing service. The staff is very friendly! I love the whole ambience. I have passed by this place so many times and thought it looked TINY from the outside but I was so wrong. Ordered the meatball starter, very savory! The grains, greens & veggies salad. The ingredients were so fresh! The avocado was the perfect amount of ripe. We also ordered the Jet Pizza was thin crusted and had an amazing crunch to it. The waiter was amazing. There was a error with the drink we ordered we it brought to her attention and she resolved it quickly. Â Definitely recommend! More...

Chef's special was a delicious preparation of fresh Swordfish with hummus, and sautéed spinach maybe, it could have been anything under that fish. Nicely seasoned and great flavor balance. The steak of fish and house pinot? Recommended. Missed a little on friend's medium rare burger but still enjoyed. Cobb salad was great but avacados a little under ripe, but hard to pick on! Chef was attentive to make sure we had a great experience. We'll be back. More...

Really enjoyed my evening at Rott n' Grapes! The meatballs appetizer was just plain yummy. It was everything you could possibly want in an order of meatballs, and the marinara sauce was delicious with just the right the tomato taste to it. Â I had the bundino for desert which was good, but would have been totally happy if they left off the huge amount of marshmallow fluff on top. The service was a bit hit or miss. The waitress did a great job of helping my friend find vegan options on the menu. However, she seemed to rush away from the table and just started talking to us about our checks instead of asking us if we wanted dessert. A huge no no in my book. Plus, I kept having to chase after her for a refill on my soda. The food was so good. I'll be back again and hopefully soon. More...

Great strong drinks and delicious food! Pleasantly surprised by their ability to cook simple vegetables with such flavor which i don't find at too many restaurants. Ordered the cauliflower appetizer which came with three dipping sauces. The cauliflower was perfectly cooked and each sauce delicious in its own way. Also ordered a side of spinach which was cooked perfectly in olive oil. All GF and vegan too! My hubby ordered the green salad and house chips which he really liked. if you go before 630 take advantage of HH deals. Great place will definitely be back More...

With a lot of great places to visit in the Roosevelt Historic District, this is still my #1 go-to. Â Grear beer on tap, even more in the beer fridge, and lots of wine and liquor if that's your thing. The food is ridiculously amazing for a place that initially seems like its selling point is as a perfect downtown neighborhood wine bar. Excellent ambiance, and always pleasant staff and visitors. Check out the underground speakeasy, The Onyx, if you're lucky enough to get in. They have comedy nights, trivia nights and wine tasting nights down there as well. More...

After 9 months of coming here, I must confess, this review is WAY overdue! Consider this "5 Star Rating" to be the average of the last 30+ times I've been to Rott n' Grapes. .. to put it simply, the owners, the chef, the staff, the food - it's always a wonderful experience! Top 4 Kudos About Rott n' --- (1) Wine Menu & Wine Club: We recently joined their local Wine Club, which has helped me try and learn about new wines. The owners bring in wines that I would not typically try or purchase, so learning is fun and affordable (club members get 20% off their restaurant bill every time) and the monthly wine tastings are a perfect way to meet new friends in the neighborhood. (2) Takeout Pizza & Dinner (3) Nightly Specials (4) Flexible Kitchen and Amazing Staff.Menu "musts" include melty, cheesy, yummy macaroni and cheese; delicious pizzas and (when I'm feeling heathy and in my workout clothes), a delicious side order of greens and hummus, which is best topped with grilled chicken and sautéed mushrooms. Brunch is super good too!I haven't been to the live comedy in their downstairs "speakeasy" basement, but judging by everything else, I am sure it's a good time. Check it out! More...

If dining on a Friday or Saturday night you have 2 options: 1) to dine in their speakeasy downstairs called "The Onyx" or to dine 2) in Rott n' Grapes. We chose the latter because we found the speakeasy far too dark. Maybe it's appealing if you're just drinking but it seemed too dark to eat down there. Being only 2 feet apart we could barely see each other. The restaurant is decoratedly nicely, very chic. We split the "Grilled Grass-Fed Burger" ($14) which came with a side, we chose their "Mac n'Cheese." Both were okay, nothing spectacular. But you know what was? The "Eggplant Bruschetta"! It has "goat cheese, olive tapenade, and basil." The first bruschetta I have actually loved. Very savory and I'm picky when it comes to eggplant, but they made it exquisitely! We also ordered the Avocado Bruschetta" but it fell short. This one had "ricotta, garlic chili sauce, and pepitas." Â The bruschetta's are $5 each and not rock hard like some places, instead the bread is soft which we appreciated. For dessert we had their in-house pistachio gelato. It was good, but not the best. Tasted somewhere in between gelato and ice cream. Kohl was our server and he was fantastic! Very patient with all of our questions and very accommodating. For parking, you can park in the parking garage next to Rott n' Grapes or you can park on Portland Park. More...

I was able to check out Rott n' Grapes, an unassuming place for comfort and healthy foods alike, along with libations of all kinds. It's a clean and respectable place, with contrasts in design between the minimal and luxurious. The comparison can leave one odd as you may not know who to bring here (the boss? the family? the date? the snooty friend? the broke friend?), so I recommend that you bring anyone who can go with the flow and family. It's a casual fare and fun community establishment. They take reservations for parties of all size, and I recommend it for parties larger than 4 during brunch hours. This is because I noted that at opening they were not busy at all, but by noon they were absolutely bustling with lines out the door. Eggs Benedict with greens and crispy potatoes - this was surprisingly fresh, done extremely well. How so? The flavor was bursting from the potatoes from the way it was lightly salted and seasoned just enough. Additionally, the potatoes were soft and not crispy. I was curious as to how long they had been cooked for to ensure the right consistency. The greens were fresh and lightly dressed. That was great to see as well. Combined with the hefty eggs, I felt like I got a well-balanced meal that didn't leave me moving ever so slowly out of the restaurant. It was the perfect start to my morning with my friend. At $13, it was modestly priced too. I would certainly be back, make reservations when possible, and bring a small group to check out what might be a local's hidden favorite. More...
