I was craving a burger and prayed to the food truck gods to bring one to me, and they actually did! Right across the street from my office, in front of the Chase building, I encountered Roll MKE and after a quick review of their menu, I ordered the MKE Burger. This burger had cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, bacon jam, and burger sauce. It also came with chive fries...mmmmmm chive fries. They were pretty busy, which I generally take as a good sign, but I had to wait about 10 minutes for my burger. Not bad of a wait really. They called my name and presented me with my burger and fries. It looked great!  I hurried by to my office, eating the delicious fries along the way. They were crispy, hot, salty, with just enough chives that you knew they were there but they didn't overpower.I dug into the burger as soon as I sat down. It was fantastic! The burger was cooked to a perfectly pink medium. The bacon jam was amazingly flavorful! I have no idea what burger sauce is but it was great. The lettuce and tomatoes were nice and fresh too. The sesame bun was nicely toasted and the cheddar cheese was nice and melty. I liked that the bun held up well and didn't fall apart while I was eating it. I was in burger heaven! I sure hope this food truck will come by regularly.  The rest of their sandwiches sounded great too and I can't wait to try them! More...

Best food truck in Milwaukee so far!The brisket grilled cheese is the popular item and look AMAZING, but for my first time here I went for the Korean BBQ brisket sandwich which far from disappointed. The meat, the fries, the sweet korean barbecue flavor... *insert mouth watering emoji here*Everything you order here includes fries and a drink, and for $9, this is a steal! More...

Sandwich, fries, and a drink are up $1 to $9 this year. Still a great value for the quality that this truck produces! My brisket grilled cheese today was even better than the last time I had it, but I was told nothing in the recipes was changed. He is still using cheddar, provolone, gruyere, caramelized onions, arugula, and  and Peppadew peppers as always. No reason to mess with perfection.  I guess I just missed eating it so much it tasted even better than I remembered.  Great eats! More...

I used to work downtown at a company I hated. One of the only redeeming parts of working in that hell suck was food truck Friday at Red Arrow Park, at which Roll MKE was a regular vendor. My favorite thing to order was the incredible pork belly combo. It consisted of two perfectly cooked pork belly slabs on King's Hawaiian rolls topped with slaw, hand-cut fries and a bottled water for a mere $8. Their other offerings like burgers and brisket grilled cheese were, from my memory, equally amazing and worth a try.The downside: Roll MKE is (duh) a food truck enterprise with limited space and kitchen capabilities. So once they sell out for the day, they're out! On at least two occasions this meant wasting an entire lunch hour in line, only to be told that they were sold out of the goods (pork belly). Womp womp. But if you are willing to show up early and wait in line, then you are truly in for a treat! To this day, the pork belly combo is one of the best things I've eaten in Milwaukee. I'm still kind of bitter they couldn't cater my wedding. More...

I read about this food truck in my MKE Yelp weekly email, and it happened to be down the street from my place the next day! Coincidence? I think not. As others have mentioned, the quality of this food is good, the food is fresh, and the price is cheaper than what I've seen at other food trucks. I was lucky when I went because there was no line, and my food was ready fairly quickly. I had the Pork Belly sandwich and the poutine. Now, let me say that I've had my fair share of poutine in Canada at actual poutineries. This is the best poutine I've had in MKE. The fresh cut fries were perfect, and the gravy was not too heavy. Plus it had bacon. Nomz. The sandwich was equally as good, I mean.. it's pork belly. The sriracha mayo was a nice touch, and it was topped with a refreshing layer of veggies. Mmm. My mouth is watering just writing this. Anywho, I will definitely be back. If you haven't tried Roll MKE, I suggest you do that. You're missing out. Get them fries. Mmmm. More...

I'm very critical of restaurants and generally my yelp reviews are created when I want to complain. Today I had Roll MKE for the first time with ordering their burger. With all their sandwiches at $8 including fries and a soda it's one of the better food truck deals. The quality of the food is solid, portion a decent size for lunch, and as the previous review stated the bacon jam is delicious. Hoping they continue to be outside US Bank as I'll definitely get them once every week or two. More...

Always great, never a bad day here at ROLLMKE. The line is always full but they are quick and always fresh. You can't  go wrong with anything on the menu but the Brisket Grilled Cheese is my go to. Be sure to hit them up on twitter @ROLLMKE to find out where they'll  be for lunch. More...

My first food truck experience ever and I have to say that it was pretty great. We ordered the burger and grilled cheese brisket. Couldn't believe the value, $8 for a sandwhich, drink and fries?! What a steal. Excited to come back soon! More...

One of my favorite trucks, but higher calorie selections (especially the perfect hand cut fries), so I try to limit my exposure. I have had the burger, brisket grilled cheese and spicy black bean and love them all! This is also one of the more economical of the trucks because for $8, you get a large sandwich, fries and a drink (soda or water). Others are 7-8 and may include a drink or fries or chips, but not all 3. Many charge 7 for just the entree. More...

Yes yes and yes. Somehow I've spent two summers outside of Red Arrow Park without trying Roll MKE. I find the overall food truck scene in milwaukee a little flat but Roll MKE has clearly nailed it and I'm just late to the party. I might marry this Chicken Tinga.

Bacon jam bacon jam bacon jam is my jam.Okay... definitely a fan, and though I waffled between the four and five star deal here, I'm going with five after one visit because holy hot damn, bacon jam. Let's be real: this truck does it right.Expounding because that's useful, right?Roll MKE is a food truck that does sandwiches, primarily. From chicken bruschetta with  fresh mozz to the out-freaking-standing burger I had with - you guessed it - bacon jam, this truck is the real deal. The fries are pretty perfect, as Tony K noted, and I can't wait to get at that brisket grilled cheese, too.You get a lot of food for not a lot of money, and it's super good to boot. The value + portions + quality = worthy of a visit, that's for sure. You should probably just read Jason B's review. He's the proverbial duke, I see him checking into Roll all the time. Bam! More...

On a whim we decided to bike over and check out the hype surrounding Roll MKE after reading a food truck article in the Journal Sentinel.  The article described menu items as: cheese burgers with bacon jam (!!), brisket grilled cheese (!!!!), sweet/spicy chicken tinga (!). My mouth was watering to say the least. Oh and each sammie comes with fries and a soda for $8!  What a deal.   So we jumped on the Oak Leaf Trail and pedaled our way to the US Bank building in hopes to score one of the delectable burgers/sandwiches I read about.  Being some of the last patrons,  almost everything was sold out. But the guys running Roll MKE were sweet enough to offer to make a burger with what they had left.  OMG this just might be the best burger I've ever had. No joke.  Even without the famous bacon jam, the burger was juicy, cheesy, with a thousand island-type dressing and buttery bun.  The fries were just as amazing, freshly tossed with salt and fresh chopped parsley.  I'm astounded at how delectable this food-truck burger is!!  Well worth the hype (from Journal Sentinel and Facebook) and I cannot wait to stalk their next location and get the grilled cheese brisket. In the year that I've worked at Schlitz Park, I've taken advantage of almost every Take Out Tuesday offered. Basically, every Tuesday about 10-12 food trucks park along Cherry Street during lunch time and it's a great addition to the office park. In my time, I've experienced every truck I've desired and none has come CLOSE to being as good as Roll MKE. I've tried 2 different menu items over the last 3 weeks and have never been disappointed. Lets start with their burger. Seriously, the best thing I've ever eaten off of a food truck. It's quality angus beef, a delicious potato bun, a delicious sauce and a bacon jam that will blow your mind. I'm not smart enough to tell you what a bacon jam is, but it's absolutely freaking delicious. I've also had their Pulled Pork and it's one of the best bbq dishes I've eaten in Milwaukee. Tender bbq with the perfect amount of sauce, and a delicious coleslaw as well. Definitely looking forward to trying the beef brisket grilled cheese next week. I know these guys are at the US Bank Building Monday and Wednesdays, and I believe the courthouse on Thursdays...if you get the chance, you need to check them out. More...
