I highly recommend David at Rogue Training Garage - he is reliable, will keep you accountable and honestly is a hard ass. He will push you to reach your goals, sometimes you'll hate him for it when you can't feel your arms anymore or after that 3rd time up the stairs (3rd time doesn't sound hard until you've seen the stairs…) - but he'll also check in the next day and see how you're doing/suggest stretches to alleviate the pain . The program and David are not for the faint of heart but if you put the work in you'll see the results. (24 lbs of fat down, 14 lbs of muscle up - still going strong) More...

My health has completely transformed since I started working out at the Rogue Training Garage. I came to David in the worst shape of my life and have lost 20+ pounds and gained so much strength since starting. My energy has skyrocketed, I leave the gym feeling great and full of life. In the past I have injured myself when starting up a new fitness practice, which then sets me back again. It's different here because David is incredibly knowledgeable, and has shown me the correct way to use my body to get optimally strong and healthy. I can't say enough positive things about this gym. I am on my way to being the strongest I have ever been, and I was an athlete in my twenties, so that says a lot! I would highly recommend this place to anyone, in any kind of shape. David knows his stuff and he is fun to be around and learn from. The workouts are tough and different everyday so you never get bored of a routine. More...

David is a great trainer and provides very personalized workouts and support. If you have a specific goal he can and will work with you to customize a workout routine that will keep you engaged and making progress. Well worth the effort and cost.

Great place to achieve fitness goals. Coach David knows his stuff and always coaches safe practices to avoid injury. I enjoy the variety of exercises and David always coaches me through the ones I'm unfamiliar with. Recently added different boxing bags for even more variety and fun. When I moved to Portland in 2015 and found my home in John's Landing, my top priority was finding a gym in my neighborhood. I had always been an athlete and lifter, and I needed to find my community.

Within my first week, I found David and Rogue Training Garage and I haven't looked back. I leave every workout motivated and wanting more. Not only have I hit many goals in my fitness journey, but I found an amazing sense of community. At the end of a long day, I can always count on Dave not only for a hard and exhausting workout, but also many laughs with the friends I've made. I have been going to Rogue Training Garage for the past couple of months. It is an Amazing place to workout! You have a variety of people at different levels of fitness, and a trainer that enjoys pushing the pace. If you leave without having a solid workout you can only blame yourself. For me, I came to this gym trying to find a fun place to exercise that I can couple with going weight lifting. I needed the next level. Fitness at home wasn't enough. Too much risk in under-qualified trainers in the unnamed brand that holds their sessions in 'boxes. ' Boom. David opens up Rogue Training Garage in John's Landing, and I've found my next challenge. A great attitude, huge creativity, a foundation in the old school with a flare for constantly keeping things fresh (3 minute boxing rounds, anyone?) - these are the things that describe David's training style. Want to get more hardcore? He's spent years training athletes, will find your limit, and give you the tools, motivation, and atmosphere to exceed them. I've put on 10+ lbs of lean muscle while maintaining my 11% body fat. My strength and skills have never soared higher. I'll be working out here for a long long time. More...

I had been working out regularly at home via P90X and Insanity videos, but I noticed that my joints were becoming sensitive and upset. I joined the Hurricane class at Rogue Training Garage so that I would have a personal trainer to help make sure my form was good and for a mix of exercises. I've been working out with David, owner and trainer, for almost a year now and he is great at being aware of people's goals and bodies, including injuries.

I love the 6am class because I feel invigorated the rest of the day. I leave feeling very accomplished, as I can visibly see myself getting stronger through increased weights, and am never bored since each workout has a different mix of moves. I think the hardest thing is waking up at 5am, but it's well worth it. David helps break through your hazy morning brain with upbeat music and high intensity moves that get you breathing and utilizing all of your muscles. The people who work out at Rogue are friendly but focused, and the general positive attitude is a great motivator.

David is an awesome trainer. I attend his Svelte Body Camp and while he works you hard he makes it fun and he has a great sense of humor. He's motivating with out being mean and makes sure his workouts work for different people with different levels of fitness. This type of training may cost more than some local gyms but he gives you individual attention and makes sure you do your best. More...

David is a great trainer. I have worked with him for a while now and I am still amazed at the continuing improvement. I am stronger and more confident, thanks to David. The workouts are tough, but they are also fun. He fits the workouts to my current abilities, yet is always challenging me to do a little more. He really enjoys all of his clients' successes, no matter how big or small. He is more expensive than the trainers at the Big Box Store chain gyms, but I can't imagine that the experience with a chain gym trainer would be as challenging and fun as working with David.
