High quality and gourmet ingredients define the dishes here and the chef takes pride in their work as you can see from their other reviews and pictures. Me and my husband got the goat cheese salad as an appetizer, he had his goat cheese breaded and deep fried and I did not because I'm gluten free, he liked mine better , he said the breading and frying of the goat cheese was too heavy and he wasn't fond of it tasted with the other ingredients. For entree he had the salmon which was outstanding ( I tried it) and I had the duck which was pretty good, the skin could have been crispier but it had an excellent taste to it. I had a glass of Merlot with our meal and my husband had a Jack Frost cocktail. My husband said his cocktail was very good. My wine tasted dull and not too great, I would have preferred a glass of wine from a local winerys wine however they did not have that. Great atmosphere! Cozy bar but worth it! Old school where your going interact with the people around you. Me and my wife went for a later happy hour on a Friday (6pm) and had a great time. Just had an early dinner at our favorite restaurant - I had Shepherd's Pie - the BEST - the flavors of the lamb and vegetables in the savory gravy were spectacular topped with creamy smooth mashed potatoes - absolutely sublime - my husband had fish & chips with haddock - delicious and crispy outside mad the sweet fish melt in the mouth - and the seafood chowder soup was rich and tasty - ooooh - and the dessert we took home - the walnut apricot torte - to die for - crunchy with walnuts and chocolate chips against the contrast of apricot jam - wonderful - the ambience and decor, the staff, our waitress Michelle, the hostess Debby, the baker Christy & of course Robin - just the best restaurant ever -

Hidden gem to only those that aren't local I am sure. As is usually the case wife and I were in an unfamiliar area due to unrelenting duties of a travel softball parents. As I normally do, I checked yelp to find the highest density of restaurants in the local area so we can drive around and see what looks nice. Well, unless you knew this place was there, could easily have missed but are so glad we didn't. Knowing what we know now, it's understandable why we got the look we did when we stumbled in expecting to get a table on a Sat night. Although the place was not full at the time, they were booked. That said, the ladies at the front of the house made and extraordinary attempt to secure us a spot at the bar and made arrangements for us to order off the dinner menu. We had a late lunch so we were looking to keep it light which I now regret seeing how attentive they were to fresh ingredients and proper preparation. We have a simple caprese salad and wings for an appetizer and both were awesome. Wings were crisp and perfectly sauced and the caprese salad had the freshest hearty tomatoes and incredible mozzarella. Unbelievably simple but both so good. My wife had a delicious seasonal squash ravioli and myself a salad with grilled salmon and poppy dressing. Again, but superbly prepared and seasoned. I cannot end review with out thanking and recognizing their hardest working bar tender, Jess. Although swamped, she made every effort to ensure we were cared for and never had an empty glass. This old historical house-like restaurant was very cute and quaint. The menu has a lot of options to pick from. My husband and I went for lunch and had the turkey harvest sandwich and the spare rib tacos. They were both amazing. I didn't care for the pasta salad that came with the sandwich because it didn't have much flavor, just tasted like mayonnaise. I'm giving this place 4 stars because our waitress wasn't very friendly or attentive and we had to wait a while for our food. But the food was worth the wait. I'll definitely be coming back! More...

My mother and I celebrated her birthday there on a windy, stormy Weds evening. We were there probably long past close, as she had just returned from a trip out of the country, and we were a bit nervous about driving home in the weather. The staff was so empathetic and so understanding and asked us to take our time and enjoy. One dish was spicier than anticipated, but they were great about replacing it for my mom even though she really didn’t want to bother them, but I was concerned it would hurt her sensitive stomach. They didn’t even charge her for the side salad (or her birthday cake slice!) that was not included with the less expensive dish my mother switched to. The food was absolutely delicious, and the ambience was quaint and relaxing. We will definitely come back and recommend it to others! More...

We had a late lunch on Friday afternoon and tried some new dishes. The corn chowder soup was sublime; rich and savory brimming with corn. The chicken pot pie was full of carrots, potato, peas and chicken topped with filling. Great comfort food. Turkey meat loaf was delicious served with gravy & mashed potatoes as was the beef tips casserole. Nice warm comforting food for a cool autumn afternoon. But wait -the desserts - the nutty sweet walnut apricot tart & the peanut butter pie - rich and creamy - both to die for...can't wait to go back...perhaps Sunday Brunch? More...

I've been meaning to get to this place for a while and am so glad I finally did. I went with friends on a Saturday afternoon, we got a table in the cute little sunroom area. The place is small but you don't feel like you're on top of other people, which is great. I ordered the truffle Brussels sprouts to share and the entire table loved them. I also had the grown up grilled cheese with the goat cheese salad and both were delicious. Everyone was happy with their food except for a burger that was overcooked, but still good. We had drinks as well and they were all delicious. We adored our server, although both she and the kitchen forgot a couple things. We weren't in a rush so I'm not dinging them for this since we liked our server's attitude so much. All in all, will definitely return and highly recommend both food and drinks. More...
