When we hired Robin Henry, we had been living in rental apartments for over 20 years and had no idea what to do in our first house! From the very beginning, Robin took to the time to understand our family, our style and our budget. Every choice she presented us with--whether paint colors, wallpaper, fabrics or furniture--was thoughtful, considered and had a "wow" factor. She nudged us with just the right amount of pressure and helped make ours a colorful, well-appointed, comfortable home. Not only do I get compliments all the time, but I still find myself smiling when I walk into a room and see a certain pattern, a particular paint color or a favorite lamp that Robin found for us. AND, our kids can live in all the rooms!! Robin Henry is a consummate professional with an amazing eye and a love for color and fun-- you will have a blast working with her!! More...

I highly recommend Robin Henry. We like Robin and her work so much that we used her for three different homes. We first used Robin for a modern 3 bedroom apartment in the West Village in New York City. We liked Robin’s design so much that we used her again for a 5 bedroom Arts and Crafts weekend home in Westchester, NY. When we moved out of NY, we asked Robin to help with a 7 bedroom, 100-year old Georgian home in Baltimore, MD. Although each home had vastly different architectural details, Robin was able to come up with designs that accentuated each home’s character while adding new elements that made each home look fresh and unique. One of Robin’s key strengths is that she really listens to her clients so that she understands what they want. Robin has consistently exceeded our expectations. More...

Robin Henry is a gem. She brings an artist's creativity and eye to her designs but is, at the same time, incredibly down to earth. She has children, she has pets, and she thrives on the challenge of creating spaces that are both beautiful and comfortable. She is also organized and professional. She has a cadre of contractors and artisans she works with to make items for your home that are both custom and affordable. She is a master at choosing colors. She has an encyclopedic knowledge of patterns and fabrics and art. She is great at working with a budget and can find perfect items at all price points. Her support staff is on the ball. They make sure you are happy with purchases and if there is ever a problem or a mistake, work tirelessly to correct the situation. The whole studio is infused with excellence, a can-do attitude, and positivity. She has now helped me design three homes and, for each project, hiring her was the best decision I made. She has on occasion saved me from bad calls by architects and contractors. LOVE HER! More...

Robin came in and took control of a difficult renovation. Our apartment had been flooded over the July 4th weekend. .Complete, top-to-bottom renovation done under duress. She took control of the situation, listened to all our ideas and synthesized them brilliantly. Love her eye, subtle touches that are married with panache and flair. Most of all she was patient with two very stressed out clients! We love her work and can't recommend her highly enough. More...

Q&As

After meeting clients to determine the scope of the project, their needs and their style, we measure the rooms to be treated and survey existing furniture and then create furniture plans for the client’s review. From there, schemes and a detailed budget are drawn up and, once approved, we order necessary furnishings.

Modern or traditional, and especially a pared down, strong melding of these two together, where comfortable, colorful rooms have strong, sleek visual site lines, a harmonious and interesting group of furnishings and great art, whether decorative or part of a serious collection.

I love making things beautiful, and I have a saying, if it’s not beautiful, it’s ugly. Either you juxtapose two textures, patterns, shapes or colors together and they sing, or they don’t sing together, in which case, you won’t end up with a beauty. This process is repeated again and again on a micro and macro scale until a layered, complete, and truly beautiful affect is made. This is still a humble, simple process and it can be done fun or fancy!

I worked for 8 years at a wonderful New York firm where I started as an intern and eventually became principal designer, and I was ready to see what I might create on my own.

I understand how busy families live and what budgets make sense, and yet I deliver custom interiors really tailored to each situation, each environment and family. I never phone it in and my resources are extensive!
