Great place to relax, people watch, eat good food or all the above. Next time I'll be back with my friends. They have so many good reviews for a reason.

Great location with a beautiful patio on the river. I came in for a solo brunch and everyone was very nice and accommodating. Food was delish and they were happy to take requests when altering menu items. Definitely recommend! More...

Very good restaurant! Great staff and very nice food! We went to the Saturday brunch and except the great food we could also enjoy the performance off the great Chicago bluesman Jimmy Burns!

This restaurant is right on the river. And I'm sure in beautiful weather the view is spectacular. They have a very lovely terrace and glass fronted dining room. Every table has a view of the river. However due to the time of year (November) it was raining and cold; so I could not enjoy that feature.I was part of a large party of 12. So we were given a private room. The room didn't have much of a view just some small windows. But there really wasn't much to see anyway. Serving a large party really displays the strengths or weaknesses of a restaurant. And I have to say the service was excellent. We had quite a number of dishes to share, as well as individual dinners. Some were drinking wine. Some were drinking cocktails. Not one mistake was made. Our server was on top of it all. The food's presentation was also quite innovative and attractive. If I lived in Chicago I would have to come here very often. The restaurant itself is modern but not cold it is very beautiful. Highly recommend. There is valet parking. Otherwise I recommend public transport, cab or ride sharing. This restaurant is expensive but I felt it was worth it for the quality of food, beverage and service. More...

Tucked off of LaSalle and the River, this Chicago restaurant serves coffee, brunch on the weekends and roasts of all kinds during the week. Only got to see the upstairs speakeasy where they served a variation on an old fashioned. The menu looked delicious and I can't wait to come back to taste their roasts! More...

The food is amazing! From the chicken gobbets served with warm honey to the roasted chicken, and the crispy potatoes and mushy peas. I wish they would bring back the yorkshire pudding. Those were amazing! More...

Got invited to a wedding 3 months back. This rustic chic River North tavern was used as a wedding venue and reception overlooking the Mag mile. For that touristy downtown view, i already know this place is upscale/pricey and I expected a higher standard. Because of these reasons, my companion and I purposely arrived early to take pictures.

The natural light coming through the windows and plenty of candles made the perfect ambience to the place! At the riverside patio, i was swept away by the excellent view of the river, bridge, and skyscrapers!

The main food concepts are roasted protein meats and I ordered the beef dish, which was juicy and tender. One of the guests who was in my table ordered a fish filet was a good sport that the fish portion was small and was eating off her husband's beef portion. She even joked that the kids meal had bigger portion and appeared more appetizing than her fish.

My dinner companion and I ordered drinks, which the bartenders didn't know how to make it. So we told him to surprise us! The drinks were fruity and on point.

Beautiful location on the Chicago River at LaSalle. Interesting concept of roasted meats to share with two. The whole chicken with potatoes was incredible. Tender and juicy.

This place is very cool and different. You enter in on LaSalle and immediately go downstairs to the main dining/bar area. The decor is a combo of farmhouse chic and urban industrial . For me, the lighting is the best part.

The menu has homemade drinks and a wide variety of wines I've never heard of. There are roasted meats and cheeses plus a huge assortment of fresh in-season vegetables.

In the back, this place is HUGE. Clearly they do weddings and large scale events that could easily fit hundreds. And it's all right on the river. So pretty!

I will 100% be back.

$40 gets you a roasted chicken and potatoes. The sides run about $10 (peas were hit or miss and sprouts were good). The chicken and potatoes are delicious. I went with my two brothers and we were satisifed after the meal (Could we have eaten more? Sure. Did we feel like we needed to? Nope). More...

Stick to the roasts, as they're all pretty good. Be sure to ask your waiter for bread, as they won't bring it by default, from what I've seen.

I've had bad luck with the sandwiches, but your mileage may vary.

Overall I enjoy this restaurant and plan to continue being a patron.

Everything we tried here was wonderful! The charcuterie platter was amazing, as well as the marrow.
We had the venison for our main dish and it was outstanding. The roasted carrots and parsnips just completed the dish. The service was exemplary. More...

Unique restaurant, original British fare. Tremendous location on the Chicago river with a great view during and after dinner. If you are in Chicago and want a nice dinner with an awesome view check out this amazing restaurant. We stopped in during our visit and WOW we are so happy we did. From the moment we walked in, the hostess was very nice and pleasant. We were brought to our table that was very welcoming. We then had a server that was attentive and helped us navigate the menu. The food was out if this world so full of flavor and the pairings went so well together. We will for sure be back and tell everyone we know to visit this place. Try it you will not be sorry. More...
