When starting a new project I want to understand more about the client's brand message, and what their goals are for each particular project. I ask my new clients to share what their brand represents as they currently understand it, and how this project fits into their overall strategy. If they do not have an overall strategy, that is something I can work with them to clarify.

My creative process begins by gathering as much information as possible. Good design solves a problem, and in order to create the best solutions, I need to fully understand the problem. I work to understand my client and their style preferences. I research to understand more about their industry, target audience, and their competition.

From there I like to create a mood board, visually illustrating what I understand their brand style to be, and ensuring that the client and I are on the same page.

Then I begin sketching design concepts until I have 3 solid ideas, which I then develop.

Next, I present my design concepts, along with the reasoning behind the concepts. The client and I discuss how each concept approaches the project goals, and how they would fit into the overall strategy.

Once I've shared all of this, I ask for their feedback and design revisions. We will then go through the revision process until arriving at the final design.

What I need from a client before beginning work will vary from project to project, but all of my projects go through a proposal and contract phase, followed by a research phase. Each of these phases require active participation from the client, and help set the project up for success.

I love that every day is different. I love that I have the freedom to choose the projects that are most fulfilling for me, and that means that I can pour my full effort and creativity into every project that I do. There is no busy work, and every single project is a labor of love.

I started my own business because I know that I am good at what I do. I spent years making a lot of money for other people as a traditional employee, and decided it was time to step out on my own. Now, working for myself, I am able to work in a way that will produce the best results, and I am highly motivated to do my best work, as I reap the benefits of our mutual success.
