Q&As

HOW DO WE WORK TOGETHER?

(OUR DESIGN PROCESS)
The truth: It really depends. Every project is different, and every client is different, but this is the most common scenario.

We Connect

Whether it be email, website form, Instagram, Facebook or through a friend, we talk online or over the phone. You explain the broad strokes of your project, and I tell you about the value we'll bring to the table. I send you a survey to fill out before our in-person consultation.

Initial Consultation

We meet in person and discuss your survey along with any other details I should be aware of and any issues you've had leading up to this point. You show me a picture (or ten) of your space, and all of your Pinterest boards. We decide that we're MFEO.

The First Look

It's our first meeting at your space, and you give me the grand tour along with any new information. I take photos and depending on the job; I take measurements where I climb behind the existing furniture and get to know your pets a little better. We sit down to address any additional questions you might have.

Design

I go back to my office and look at the project as a whole. I put all of those measurements, inspiration and notes into a cohesive drawing and concept boards. This might include paint colors, furniture, fabrics, lighting and other finishes which give a more specific idea for the look of each space.

Planning

I send you the boards so that we can begin to edit them together. I edit the boards and formulate the shopping list of items for each space. You voice any questions or concerns. I address these, and then you approve. Yay!

Purchasing

Some clients choose to buy directly from stores, others shop through me to access discounted pricing. We discuss our plan before anything is purchased.

Installation

Every client is different, which is what makes design exciting. So whether it's a hands-on approach you prefer, or getting the big reveal, its completely up to you.

The Wrap Up Rap

When the space is complete we discuss anything else you may need. We'll go over last invoices and any information for the future of your space. This will include how to care for your new space, when your space will be photographed, and the next project we'll be working on together.

While I can design for any style, I love modern spaces with elements of eclectic, traditional, bohemian, and mid-century design.

Collaborating with clients who are excited about design and ready to see their space transformed.

I worked as an independent Designer previously and after working for a larger company decided that this was the right path for me. I enjoy seeing designs from start to finish and interacting with the client which is not always possible at a larger company.

Do you go down an internet hole while searching for what to pair with that blue sofa—the one you can’t justify buying until you know if it will work; meanwhile you ending up with a whole new list of things you can’t live without? I can help you sort through your dream rooms to create a more personalized space than that image circulating online since 2009.

Are you a small business owner who dreams of opening a storefront, but you don’t know how to turn that identity into a tangible space? I can help you stay on brand while creating a place you won’t mind spending most of your waking hours in. Which is what you need, because the hustle is real, and so worth it.

Since then I’ve worked with clients in their homes, laid out hundred-employee offices, and been on the team that opened the first 21st Century school in Baltimore City. Oh, did I mention I used to run a magazine focused on small business? Localism is a passion of mine, and supporting the creative community is something that gives me all the feels.

If turning your Pinterest boards (or your brand) into a space that’s more than just digital, while chatting over matcha and chai lattes sounds like a good time to you, then let’s get started.
