These guys have been amazing so far. We were over at Annies before they became ban field and Annies was great. Banfield not so much. It didn't take long for them to start suggesting their plans which are overpriced for their inexperience doctors most of which graduate from Banfield university. Their front staff seems unengaged and just seems to do what they're told. It is a training issue for sure. Either way our dog really hurt her leg and Banfield couldn't get us in, I called Redstone and they were fantastic. Got us in next day they even texted me and called just to find out how my dog was doing. Sorry Banfield, another one bites the dust good luck. Went for annual checkup to reboost vaccines and assessment for teeth cleaning for my dog. I was very impressed by their reasonable prices (I have NEVER walked out of a vet with a bill this low) and that the vet didn't try to sell us everything under the sun. She was very straightforward and honest in her recommendations. We were really considering a teeth cleaning she told us it wasn't necessary to send that kind of money ($500-1000 yikes!), just brush. My jaw almost dropped, she didn't want my money?! On top of that she was so patient with my list of questions and very willing to talk through them without rushing me or with judgement. Such a refreshing experience! After checking out other vets in the area this one is definitely a winner for us. More...

Redstone has been GREAT with my Labradoodle. We were searching for a new vet closer to home, and have found THE place. Our girl was spayed a few days ago, and not only did they call to check in on her the next day, but we just went in for a check-up (due to some incision bleeding) and they were friendly, thorough and did not charge us for the visit. I appreciate always being able to get our pup in right away, and appreciate their patience with my numerous questions (and they don't ever make me feel stupid for asking). And, surprisingly, our Doodle doesn't hesitate to rush right into the office, even after surgery a few days ago! It's nice to breathe a sigh of relief when your dog's health is on the line. More...

I had never been to Redstone as I just relocated to this area not long ago. I was pet sitting a dog and had some issues with needing her meds filled but her prescription was from a place in Fort Collins. The other vet I had found down here refused to let me use the records from the dog’s primary vet of 10 years. Said I needed to pay for bloodwork tests and schedule an initial visit even though everything was current. After calling numerous places and hearing the same thing over and over, I tried Redstone. They had absolutely no problem helping me as long as the records were current and they received them directly from the vet. I wasn’t even a customer of theirs and they immediately stepped up to help me instead of forcing me into a corner to make money (by diagnosing something that has been under successful treatment for probably close to 4 years). The process was annoying as the vet in FC took awhile and I kept calling Redstone back (probably nagging like crazy) and they were always kind and helpful toward me every single time I bothered them. I will definitely be switching my own dog and 2 cats to this clinic. More...

The owner contacted me immediately after I posted my original review and apologized for the experience I had on the phone with her staff. She was able to answer my questions about how we could help our dog. I really appreciate that she did that.ORIGINAL REVIEW:We've been using this vet for several years. Unfortunately, my dog is dying. I called them to find out the process and cost to have her euthanized and cremated. The woman I spoke to was rude to me and refused to tell me how much it would cost. She said she couldn't tell me the cost because she needed to know the dog's weight in order to provide a quote. I told her the dog is about 70 pounds, but she still refused to tell me the cost and got really rude with me.I was expecting a bit more compassion about the situation. I certainly wasn't rude to her. I'm just very sad about my dog and hate having to even consider euthanizing her in the first place. Needless to say, I won't be taking my other dog there anymore. More...

I started bringing my two dogs to this place when I moved here in mid-2007, because the boarding facility right next to it had pretty good reviews when I needed to take my two dogs for a weekend. Being over ten years ago, I've seen lots of different vets come and go, some good, some just ok, most just pretty forgettable, but recently my dogs have been seen by Dr. Starnes. I cannot overstate how much I love her for how wonderfully and compassionately she cared for my dog, Haley (my other dog too, but this pertains to Haley). When Haley was given a lymphoma diagnosis just before Christmas (which, btw, feels like a knife to the heart), she explained my options and was understanding and supportive of my decision to decline chemo for my 13 year old dog (I would have written a check in the amount of my entire life savings if she would have told me chemo could cure my dog). Over the next couple months, there were definitely ups and downs while Haley was on a steroid, but she was always very responsive, returned my calls (there were a lot) promptly, refilled prescriptions as needed, and was always so sweet to Haley when I had to bring her back in for various things.Unfortunately, my reason for writing this review now (after 10+ years) is how Dr. Starnes and the staff at Redstone handled my dog's final appointment (being euthanized...if I thought a lymphoma diagnosis was bad, this was about 8 million times worse). She explained the process, what might possibly happen as the drugs were administered, and assured me that this was a kind decision to be making for her. She had the techs come to the room to do the IV instead of taking her to the back like they would usually do, because she knew I don't like leaving her. After the IV was placed, I got as much time with her as I needed. She explained what each of the injections were as they were given, and let me have as much time with her as I needed after it was done. I was never rushed, which was important, because no one wants to be rushed when it's literally the last time you'll ever see your dog. I also got to leave through the backdoor so everyone in the waiting room didn't see what a crying mess I was/still am. More...

I am impressed. I moved both my great danes over to this vet after leaving Deer Creek. We were neglected under Deer Creek's care and I didn't know the level of care so so poor until we moved over to Redstone and were handled so differently. The specialize in Fear Free Care, meaning my giant scaredy dogs were treated with new age Fear Free care; relaxing them and creating not only the environment but also the treatment that my dogs felt comfortable in and with. My great dane walked in with his tail in between his legs and wanting to leave by any means possible. After interacting with the staff and receiving this "fear free" approach he was so calm, he was wagging his tail, yawning and stretching and behaving as if he was at home. I also had a moment to ask people who were customers there how they felt about the place any everyone seemed to be going here for a really long time and had nothing but positive reviews. Their boarding is reasonably priced. I am not too excited about the boarding quarters but the dogs there don't seem to mind and the staff is incredible. The vets are very knowledgeable and patient. They take the time to explain things and work with people. They seem to have a common sense that people would rather use generic RX versus name brand and they give you options. This isn't common with other practices (especially Deer Creek). They also seem to genuinely care about my dogs, which makes me feel at ease. I had to have surgery on one of my dogs nail and have it removed. While he was sedated they clipped my dogs other nails, at NO CHARGE. Again, this is not common practice and what I was accustom to at Deer Creek where they nickle and dime you. I pointed out that they clipped the nails and they said yes, we thought we would just do it while he was out and he needed it. So they put the care of my dog before charging me for every little thing they did. Trust me, that keeps me coming back and willing to pay their vets over any other one.
