I have been going to Recessions for nearly 15 years. The definitive dive, they recognize you after a few visits, and for me, they tend to know what I'm getting when I hit the door. Really nice place to do some singing for free. It has been recently renovated and looks much nicer than it did before. I would give 5 stars if I didn't feel like tha dj skips my songs because they are not " cool" . but overfull fun and relaxed.

Very mixed crowd, however a more throwback style vibe of a place. Imagine a more 2000's-2009's sort of vibe(in terms of "black" music). Simply put, it's a dive bar with karaoke. I went with a group on a Wednesday night and there were maybe 6 people in the place. It feels bigger than it is with the mirrored back wall. There is one pool table that takes quarters; surprisingly, the pool sticks were in good shape. There are two dartboards, although one is basically useless because of the location of the pool table.
