The tea leaf salad is to die for
Really delicious food!
Great food. Excellent and fast service.
Awesome place for some vegetarian bites
Such delicious food!! Mango chicken was incredible
we been to the restaurant on a saturday evening and we never had any reservation . But the staff was courteous and accommodated us and we were 4 adults with one baby requiring a high chair . All of us are vegetarians and this restaurant offered us good spread for us The restaurant offers wine menu and burmese style cocktail. I ordered Rangoon gimlet. It was good . we ordered Tea leaf salad (A mix of Burmese tea leaves, fried garlic, yellow beans, peanuts, sesame seeds, lettuce, tomato, jalapeno peppers) , Mango salad (Shredded fresh green mangoes served with fried onions, fried garlic, cabbage, red onions, yellow bean powder, cucumber )and samosa soup as starter. The server bough the salads to the table and explained the contents and mixed the salad . The salad and soups were very tasty. For the main course we ordered Veggie kabat (A mix of vegetables and tofu stir-fried with paprika, masala, tamarind, green chilies, mint leaves, tomatoes, onions and cilantro.) coconut rice ( this was tasting sweet) and home style fried rice .The table was small to accommodate all the dishes as they were served quickly .On the whole the quality of the food was excellent and would definitely recommend for vegetarians to try this restaurant More...
nice place good heat at the hot level
Great food and cocktails
We catered our wedding with Rangoon Ruby. And the food at our wedding reception was amazing!! We were feeding roughly 200 guests with a diverse palate, and our venue was a two and a half hour drive from Palo Alto. Nonetheless, we've heard from multiple guests that this was the best wedding food they've ever had. The food was so good that my wife and I packed up leftovers that we ate over the course of our mini moon. We are excited to return to Rangoon Ruby for another meal and relive the tastes of our wedding.Chantal was also very helpful. She helped us come up with the perfect menu that would work for our guests and our venue. On the day itself, by the time we made it to the reception, everything was handled and at ease. Her staff was lovely and pleasant, and she also provided the bartenders for our bar. The bartenders were so good that our guests were ordering and enjoying drinks they usually wouldn't bother ordering at a wedding bar.Overall, the investment we made in having Chantal and Rangoon Ruby cater our wedding was well worth it. The guests, our families, and we were all very happy and full. Thank you Chantal! More...
Big options and good experience
Food was just lovely. We ordered the rangoon chicken and egg & okra curry with coconut rice and both the dishes were phenomenal. Specially the egg and okra curry.
Good place for food
Great food, service and ambience with plenty of vegetarian options. They also have great outdoor seating perfect for a bright afternoon. The place is usually fully packed but the waiting time is not too much.In addition to food would recommend teas as well. More...
Would recommend tea-lead salad here
Sai Kiriti Badam
Good taste but a bit on the expensive side if you are looking for a good portion of dinner.
Had the tea leaf salad, was divine
Get the samosa soup and tea leaf salad!
Very efficient wait staff, and the food was tasty and nicely presented
Great food. Loved it. Great service.
Awesome. I love their food way too much. I am very much enjoyed it. And it was so delicious. Very yummy. And so much savory as well. Thanks guys!
Very flavorful, fresh, and great service. Had the chicken Rangoon curry with coconut rice and the samosas for an appetizer. Nice upscale ambiance. Will come back! More...
Quick service and really delicious food. There is an extensive menu - we got the mint jalapeño pork and the country beef curry, which were both excellent. Skip the garlic noodles as a side.
The chicken kebat was really good!
Loved all of it. Sumptuous meal and friendly hosts. Would definitely recommend.
Ordered the mohinga. Everything was fine and as expected, not spectacular but good. Not spicy, if that's important to you.
The Tea Leaf salad and the Samosa Soup were delicious. I highly recommend both!
My fav location for delicious burmese food. do not leave if it's busy, it is worth it. prices that won't break you. not close to my job, i wish it was.
I would definitely recommend Rangoon Ruby's samosa soup. It is a very unique dish I haven't tasted anywhere else. Their dessert palata is also amazing. I had low expectations for the dish when I saw the description, but it was truly amazing! Definitely worth a visit! More...

I saw the place was empty and I got skeptical at first, but oh boy I'm glad I went inside. The place is very elegant, has great soft music, the staff is friendly and the food I got the mango tofu, with a side of Burmese rice and a coconut piña colada and oh boy. I couldn't get enough. First time eating Burmese food but certainly not my last. More...
After completing our shopping this restaurant was the first one we encountered with. Echoes of talks was one and only complaint of us and it never stoped throughout our stay. Lotus chips dish was a good appetizer with beer. I ordered Lamb Kebat and my friend ordered Fiery Beef Tofu as a main dish. We were asked about level of spice. We both were happy with our choices. Sangita was our patient waitress. She listened us carefully and made suggestions since we were not familiar with Burmese kitchen. She was kind and concerned sincerely. You get more compare to what you pay. I was definitely satisfied except the noise. More...
The calamari is awesome
Very good food and fast service. Lots of options for vegetarians. Gets crowded - make sure you have a reservation or take it out. Recommended!
Absolutely wonderful mango chicken! Ditto the kabat beef! Soothing atmosphere. Service just ok.
The flavor was really good overall. It wasn't overpowering and the medium hot spice level was just right. Good service as well.
Loved it! We were looking at the menu posted outside and a woman walking by told us "this place is great, we come here all the time!", which convinced us so we stepped inside. We're glad we did because it was absolutely delicious! We had the Burmese pork Curry and the Walnut shrimp with coconut rice and it was all very good. Prices are decent and service is fast, staff is friendly... couldn't ask for more. Overall a great place to eat. More...
Visited this restaurant for second time..Must say they have really tasty food..I just want the dessert menu to be a bit wider..Samosa soup and samosa salad are the highlights if this place for me..The burmese rice also takes your taste buds for a spin..Rice noodles were also delicious..Lamb was also perfectly cooked..Had a fantastic time there.. More...
Unique dishes and reasonable prices. Gluten free menu includes the majority of regular items
Food is delicious and comes out fast. Our server could have been a little more efficient but everyone was friendly.
I just had their Burmese Chicken Salad and their Ruby Shrimp and both were excellent. I've also had their Basil Chili Beef and some Samosas there too and they were great too.
I love love love this place. Just try their salads. Don't be basic, don't just limit yourself to the tea leaf salad (it is good.. but..) Try their rainbow noodle salad or mango salad. Or go for proper entries. Fiery Lamb is heavenly. The soups are amazing. Well complemeted by a good selection of Asian inspired cocktails and a small but quality selection of beers. What's not to like? Wow. More...
Service & food are great. The ambience in the dining area is not really cozy but clean.
When I walked by the place, it looks like a warehouse with big kitchen equipment, no dining area. So I was skeptical about it. But I got totally surprise of the taste and the service I got. Hope I will come back soon More...
OMG I loved the place, relatively new I guess, but their food is really good, anything u order is delicious and tasty, good service, and they kept some of the original decorations of the place.

The food was excellent and the service was attentive. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who asked.
The samosas were on point!! The Burmese draft beer was excellent, it was a German blonde. Servers were very attentive but not hovering.
Mary Louise Stymiest
Amazing food. Tea salad, coconut rice, garlic noodles, pumpkin chicken stew, mango fish. Excellent service until the very end. Difficult to get the check to pay. Great value. We were 4 fully stuffed with drinks $40/each with tip More...
Amazing! Highly recommend the sauteed eggplant and the pumpkin dishes!
The food was really good and the ambiance was nice. Service was friendly and attentive though a little low energy. This was our first time trying Burmese food, so I can't say how it compares to the competition, but we'll definitely be back!
Loved the Tea leaf salad. I also ordered a coconut juice which comes in the freshly cut coconut itself. You can scoop out the cream inside if you like. The service was decent. It's not a big place but there is room for 2 or 3 big groups. Not more than that. There is a public parking space near by but it can get little challenging in the peak hours. There is no parking lot of their own since it is located in the busy area of San Carlos. We had a group of 12 people and we had a great time there. More...
love the happy hour! $5 all you can eat buffet with the purchase of a drink
Live, Love & Laugh in SFO
Good service with new taste.
Great food. Highly recommend the samosa soup and the mango salad.
This place is so good - I recommend the tea leaf salad to start and make sure to opt for the coconut rice.
Absolutely love the tea leaf salad and chicken curry appetizer of naan bread. Also, we had the garlic noodles which were flavorful and scrumptious. And finally, since we came on a Wednesday afternoon, there was no one else in the restaurant and we got incredible service. Love this place and would definitely come back! More...
Rangoon Ruby has the best tea leaf salad among the Burmese restaurants we have tried in San Francisco and Burlingame.
Rangoon Ruby Burlinagme Being a vegetarian I love their Mango Tofu dish. It has the right balance of tartness and sweetness with the mango kicking it up a notch. The vegetable kebat is also worth a try. You can choose your level of spiciness. If you enjoy a slight zing “Medium” seems to do the trick. They also provide a hot sauce if you ask. The service is good perhaps a little too fast. Our waiter who was very attentive just wanted to give us the bill when we were not even half way through our meal. The reason I took away 1 star is because they don’t serve coffee. That’s one thing I miss whenever I visit this restaurant. But other than that - nice food nice folks. They do have a full bar. More...
Went on a sunday, dinner for 2. It was really crowded, but staff were friendly and did their best. We ordered some sake that was pretty decent for like $35 a bottle. We had samosas and the tea leaf salad for appetizers. Both were really great, especially the salad. The fermented tea leaf is a distinct flavor, and paired with crunchy nuts and greens is a good combo. The spicy lamb and pork curry were definitely good but nothing crazy amazing. I also thought the rice was overcooked and clumpy. Overall very good experience, but would probably try different mains next time. More...
Excellent meal. A little pricey.
I wouldn't give a 5 in general. But , this place got me at tea leaf salad and samosa soup. It was a great dining experience with my wife. A great 101 to Burmese cuisine.
The food is good and the service is nice. Place is a bit expensive.

Everything we ordered was delicious and the service and ambiance was outstanding!!!! We love the fireworks at our table!!!!
The food was good and wait staff were courteous and pleasant.
Food was delicious, service excellent and they have a gluten free optional menu
The sparkler on the birthday desert was a fabulous touch too. I will definitely be returning and would highly recommend. More...
We went there for our annual friends annual gift exchange & dinner. Everything was just delicious! We ordered a lot of food & drinks. We asked for suggest, as many of us had never had Bernese food so we order everything from appetizers, main dishes and desserts to share. We can’t say one bad thing about any of the dishes - everything was excellent! It all came fast, along with very friendly service , good price, good portions. Our servers were attentive and the GM, John came to our table often to ask how everything is & even read our Christmas poem game we had to mix up the gifts for our exchange. We will all be back again & can’t say enough about this wonderful restaurant and the staff. More...

It's my frist time trying this place good. Like it will be back to try are dishes..
Burmese Fast food/express on Van Ness!
Food was delicious....
I would definitely go back!!
One of the better Burmese restaurants I've been to (others visited in Washington, DC, Arlington and New York). Menu and tastes seemed to appeal to local ingredient availability (much easier to find Thai and Indian spices in the area) and local palates (diverse ethnic backgrounds in the Bay Area, but a little thin on Burmese ex-pats). Flavorful tea leaf salad hinted with jalepeno. Palata bread seemed to reflect a more Indian style of cooking but included some sugar for seasoning. The mango swai was probably the most notable dish of the evening. More...
Good ale selections. Happy hour appetizers are good. Have not had dinner there, but plates look tasty.
Nice spot good flavors. They have brown rice available which is a big deal to me. Not quite as flavorful as some of the better-known Burmese places in San Francisco, but this place is top-notch. I would highly recommend it
This is a great restaurant with quite a few locations in the bay area. First visit to this location as I had only been to the Palo Alto Rangoon Ruby before. The food here is the same as what is served in Palo Alto and is of the same quality. They also offer some special house beers brewed specially for their chain. The coconut rice here is a can't miss!!!!! More...
Kids loved it
First time having Burmese cuisine, ordered Jasmine rice and coconut rice, tea leaf salad, palata with coconut chicken, fried tofu, rangoon curry chicken, basil chili beef, ruby string beans, coconut pudding with vanilla ice cream. Sat outside with our dog with a heat lamp . The Rangoon curry chicken and tea leaf salad was not my personal favorites, but I really enjoyed everything else. Service was very good. More...

Ordered delivery which arrived in a timely manner, hot & correct. DEELISHUS! Flavorful & Spicy. Had the spicy dumplings which coupled with the cooling cucumber salad. Definitely ordering again.
Lunch buffet vs sit down dinner is pretty different. I don't have issue with the food, but was sad to see the buffet quick pick was only for lunch. Waited longers than wanted for take out, had I realized the different set up and would have made more time for myself. BUT those samosas are DELICIOUS and I liked the food over all! More...
Good Burmese cuisine
Buffett was good for the price
Très bonne cuisine, fine et pleine de saveurs. Les portions sont très généreuse, prévoyez de prendre un plat pour 2 c'est largement suffisant.
Food is good, service is better!
First time of hopefully many! Everything we tried was amazing especially the tea leaf salad and the mango chicken. Highly recommend!!
Awesome tea leaf salad
Great food, unique tastes!
Very tasty delicious and nice clean place to have your burmese food.
This place is an upscale restaurant which serves pretty decent food. I really like their Biryani. When we have been there in a large group after making a reservation, I felt their service was commendable. However, the last time I visited the place with a group of 4 others, I was a bit disappointed by the slow service and food from other tables getting mixed. Having said that the ambience is good, and the food is good too. Remember, prices tend to be slightly on the higher side. More...
Good spicy food, especially the lamb dishes.
Great street and location. Quick service.
Great place to eat, and delicious food and great service. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal and enjoyed the fact that this was really authentic
Love the Green Leaf Salad.
Did happy hour, good selection and price..
Friday evening and friends , this is The place
Just great modern Asian food, with excellent service.
Delicious food. Not very expressive, stylish and cozy place.
Food was very good, I have been to a few Burmese restaurants now and I will say this is one of my favorites. It was not too busy when I went but staff was attentive but I would have liked a little more help with the menu. Parking was a little of an issue as the meters only took change. I know, not a big deal. Good food, will go again More...
Great tasting food. Friendly staff. Very nice smooth atmosphere. Definitely recommend.
Incredible delicious tasting food. The Tea Leave Salad is a must try. Very friendly service, clean and great price.
Tasty food and friendly staff. Beef kabab with coconut rice was perfect match.
Great flavors and service. Try Burmese!
Great Burmese cuisine & cocktails. Elegant decor & nice ambiance. Enjoyed the Tea Leaf Salad & the Nan Gyi Dok noodle dish. Service was pleasant. Left in a hurry & forgot my purse there. Called in a panic & when i arrived, it was waiting there safely behind the bar counter. Will definitely come back. More...
Excellent meal - the Tea Leaf salad is a can't miss!
This is great, solid, Burmese food. The service is extremely fast an efficient, which can feel a little much, but I appreciate it because they keep the wait time for tables way down this way. We had the pratha, the tea leaf salad, and the Burmese noodles. They don’t have anything by way of dessert options, which was disappointing. Two final notes: Parking is challenging in this neighborhood and they will not seat you until your entire party is present. More...
Great happy hour, $5.00 all you can eat buffet, minimum 1 drink.... Food is awesome!
This place is beautiful and clean the food and the service are amazing and if you get there before 630 it's happy hour and they have an awesome buffet of Asian food and amazing and the drinks are to die for this service is excellent I would suggest this place any day of the week for awesome Burmese food
I like the Ruby Rainbow Salad. must try!
Best Burmese food, I like this chain of restaurants even though they are all owned separately. They have the same menu and I highly recommend the sesame beef, garlic noodles and the famous tea leaf salad!
Food and service are very good. The ambiance needs work; it's too bare.
This was my first time to try Burmese food and I definitely enjoyed it. My aunt who has been to Burma says that the flavors are authentic. Service was excellent and that was a major plus! Try the tea leaf salad and the soups! More...
I love this restaurant. Asked wait staff for recommendations and food was amazing and delicious.
Great Burmese food. Good service. Nice ambience.
Coconut noodle soup is amazing :)

Really good! The menu had a ton of delicious options and the happy hour prices and deal can't be beat! The service was really good and the staff was nice and friendly. They were able to answer our questions and help us out! More...
Yummy place with ambient atmosphere and good service
One of my favorite Burmese places. I am obsessed with the Tea Leaf Salad here. They bring the dish with all the ingredients and then mix them in front of you. This applies to pretty much every salad dish. I also love Samosa Soup. Vegetarians will love this place as there are plenty of good options. It's not an expensive place and not too crowded. More...
Rangoon Ruby has always been at best place for us for Burmese cuisine. We were here up for lunch and we order pretty much 5 dishes and all of them were really good. We ordered mango tofu surprisingly that was really good. I never knew that mango tofu taste that good. There were a spicy tofu that were also good and we had colleague who would meat dishes they seem to enjoyed that as well. More...
Holiday season so service was a bit slow but the food was delicious as always!!
Great value for money. Very tasty.
Great food! Went with a group of 7 people so got to sample plenty of dishes. Wasn't disappointed with any. They have tons of vegetarian options, with almost any dish having the option to make it either vegetarian or vegan. They even had fresh coconut water and South East Asian beers. I would definitely go back and recommend it to anyone who's looking for a good meal. Prices are fair for the area too. More...
Some very tasty things, though the menu is pretty eclectic. Tea Leaf Salad is a consistent winner. Service is on the longer side, but not unduly so. Not built to handle large groups, but can be done. More...
This is the 3rd time my husband and I are going there for dinner. We've been to the Palo Alto one previously and while the food is consistent, it is a lot more busy and noisy. Things we like to order are the lemongrass chicken, the firey chicken tofu which is my favorite, and they have an garlic eggplant shrimp which is delicious. Spice level of 3 at this place is flavorful but not spicy at all. One thing is that you have to pay separately for rice but I guess that's pretty common in the Bay Area I suppose as I'm leaning. More...
Delicious food, excellent service in a comfortable, pleasant restaurant. The prices are reasonable, too.
I have been to the Palo Alto one and though the food is comparable and equally delicious this restaurant is a lot quieter and less busy which is nice if you really want to have any conversation. We went on a Saturday night and didn't have to wait for a table. We ordered the Firey Tofu Chicken which was delicious and by far my favorite. Few others we like are the Garlic Eggplant Shrimp and Lemongrass Beef. We're regulars to this place and will keep going back. More...
Best happy hour in the bay with the best food
My 1st time there. There was good service, great mixed drink(I only had one)the food was amazing. We arrived at 930pm on a Saturday night and it was almost empty. It looks like most people get delivery and if they like the food after a delivery. They would love the dine in experience. More...
Great food. Try the tea leaf salad and country lamb with Burmese rice
We had lots of food here between the four of us. Chicken Platha, Calamari, Mango Chicken, Kebat Chicken and Samosa Oup. Everything was awesome! Will come back for sure.
We went to Rangoon Ruby in Belmont on the fly yesterday and it was fantastic! The food was flavorful and plentiful. The bar drinks were creative and fresh. The service was on it and the food came out hot. Great Burmese food and I will return with more people so I can order more food. More...
Great place to eat. Eric was a good waiter, we had our anniversary dinner there.we will be back.
Excellent food. I've never been here and not had the Tea Leaf Salad.
Delicious variety of Burmese food.
Nice atmosphere, good food and drink. But it was awkward having someone wait on us hand an foot. I felt watched and like she was over doing it. Probably won't go back.
The food and service are excellent. We love this restaurant. So do our friends who came with us at Rangoon Ruby Belmont.
Food is good and waitress are great
Tasty Food, I loved it.
amazing happy hour!!
Delicious food! I'd never had Burmese food before; loved it. I'll be back.
Michael Gannetta Jr
Pricey but good food with a trendy vibe, full bar, and a wine list on an iPad. Gluten-free menu available. Waitstaff is knowledgeable about gluten and cross-contamination risks.
Tea leaf salad was really good. My husband liked his curry dish too. A little pricey for the amount of food you get though.
Live the food. Try their tea leaf salad
Service prompt and food is top notch
Stopped going to Burma Superstar after we found this place. This location has no waiting compared to the Palo Alto and other Peninsula location.
Upscale place with nice ambiance and very yummy food. Outdoor seating is very nice. Pricing on expensive side though....
Must try the garlic noodles and monkfish stew.

Beautiful atmosphere and cuisine
Their brand new happy is awesome! 4 drinks and all you can eat buffet for 2, $33 ! Leave a nice tip ;)
Great food, beautiful ambience.
Great place with a wonderful selection of dishes. Very tasty food! Superb and friendly staff!
Excellent food, many vegetarian options available too
Try the tea leaf salad and Mango tofu curry - a refreshingly different taste to it!
The food is insanely good, but the atmosphere leaves a bit too be desired. Went in for lunch with a big group, and they had daytime TV showing on a big screen in the middle of the restaurant. Not sure why a semi-upscale joint needs a TV, but they have one. More...
Good food, delicious and juicy. Totally Asian style.
Amazing food, service and ambiance. Beware the chilli oil.
The food is good. Some variety in the dishes they have. The service is great as well.
Amazing food. Loved their tea leaf salad
Great restaurant! Service is great and the green tea salad is a must. Personally I love the spicy tofu and coconut water
Great food, service and music. Tea leaf salad is better than other Burmese restaurants I've tried. I was alone and the pictures on the wall caused me to look up Burmese fishermen on You Tube. Fascinating! Didier was my server and was excellent at his job. More...
Impressive takeout food. The food is good on its own, don't wait until late night after drinking to eat there. The potato skin with pork belly and quail egg is awesome at 5:30pm
The food was very good. The service was polite, but lacking due to them being understaffed.
Tasty food. A little on the expensive side.
Delicious food and plenty of vegetarian options
Great Food! Quite possibly the Best! Tea leaf Salad is Amazing!
Nice decor. My wife and I shared two dishes, the lamb batmati or something like that and the rangoon noodle dish. Both were very heavy single note flavors with little variety. The lamb dish was good, just wish there were more to it. The noodle dish was far too creamy - all of its ingredients tasted the same because of the heavy cream sauce. We've been before and had a much better pairing of dishes. More...
Great food, especially lettuce wrap!
Great food, excellent service.
chicken Kebat does it, spice is just right , and aroma coconut rice compliments most dinner items
Very clean restaurant..! Staff is very helpful and surprisingly the salads here are also delicious.
Great food but expensive
Soooo delicious! Each time I visit, I try something new. All is amazing!
Rangoon Ruby is a very cool restaurant! Healthier options, very delicious salads, and their chicken is to die for.
Great food. A bit slower than the Palo Alto location but outdoor seating
Upscale place with excellent service and yummy food
The food and service is amazing!!
I really like the food here, sort of Korean Indian fusion. Everything had a kick to it and presentation was nice. For large groups however the tables can get a bit crowded because they are small. Service was excellent and the waiters were a helpful happy lot. More...
Tea leaf salad!
Very nice place. Friendly staff. Pad Thai with shrimp was excellent. Try it spicy.
