What makes a great website?
A great website is one that has good SEO so people can find it. Simple navigation so once someone is there it is easy to navigate and one that has good content that people come back form. It's not just about the look of a site it's how you leverage all the other parts together to make the site successful.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
What is your measure of a successful website/marketing project?
What is your budget?
What sort functionality does the site require?
What problems are you trying to solve with these changes?
Who is your customer?
What is your timeline?
Of course there are a lot of other details but these are some of the high level questions that one should be thinking about.
Describe your creative process.
We start by getting an understanding of your company history and what you having currently for branding. Then we work to get a list of competitors or other industry companies that have examples of what you like. From there it's our job to take those elements of what you like, what colors or graphic style you want to see that fits your current brand and then come up with a number of design concepts. Depending on the project and budget this might be 2 or 10 rounds of concepts or tweaks on a home page or a logo mark until we end up with a final design.
What information do you need from a client before you can start work?
Before we can start to work on a project we need to have a firm understanding of the scope of the work. A brief consultation will be able to answer any questions needed to provide an estimate. From there once we have agreed on the estimated price and timeline we can sign a contract and get started.
What do you love most about your job?
That I can really work from anywhere with an internet connection.
What inspired you to start your own business?
After working in the snowboard industry for 10 years doing marketing I wanted something different. I had been doing design work on the side and decided to make it my full time gig. I really wanted to work for myself. At the time web bigger and I started to specialize in web work.
