Love, Love, Loooooved Public Bar Live as an end cap to a shopping spree and night on the town for Black Friday, this year. I was craving yummy snacks and couldn't decide if I was in the mood for nachos or wings and to my surprise and delight, Public had delicious nachos AND chicken strips and fries we devoured. I determined I would eat here and not Shake Shack after seeing how clean the bathroom was when we arrived, in case you're wondering how Ky ended up trying 2 different dishes from a sports bar, LOL.Public wasn't super crowded when we arrived at about 10:00pm, but a nice crowd poured in through the night that was fun to party with, while not seeming  unpleasantly packed. I loved that there were multiple floors with multiple bars and bar specials. I started out with  7$ grey goose drinks on one floor because I love Grey Goose and I love it even more when it costs $7 / drink, for sure. I also enjoyed hookah on the heated rooftop patio floor that was some of the best hookah quality I've had in the city. After the most perfectly poured Grey Goose drinks and ever so smooth and flavorful hookah had sufficiently marinated, we had a ball taking pictures with aaaaalllllll the fun back drops and grass walls located around each floor, which I'm definitely going back to take advantage of for superb girls' night  photo ops, real soon LOL..I'd never heard of the 2nd floor DJ, DJ Dunny before, but he was my favorite... I liked how he was super engaging with the crowd in a way that wasn't annoying like some DJs can be. It was thanks to him, that I felt like I needed leg day recovery, the day after LOL. He played an awesome mix and kept the crowd turned up the entire time we were there, so I'll be back for fun times and good music from him, the tasty snacks, supreme hookah quality, and for the bar specials that were on point. They even apparently feature live music some nights including but not limited to bands like DC's very own BYB. Shout out to the bartenders that were all really cute, kept the lines moving, and poured great drinks with smiles on their faces. Couldn't have asked for a better experience and place to wrap up holiday splurging, LOL. More...

Public Bar is great around 1130p. The music is livel (top 40 w/ a splash of classic r&b and rap songs), most of the bartenders are quite pleasant, and offers several free places to rest your feet.

Ate here with my boyfriend on a Tuesday. We shared an order of wings which were coated just right, not too saucy, and were savory and sweet. I ordered a Pilsner and my boyfriend got (two) Hefeweizens. I can't remember the exact names of the beers, and am too lazy to look it up or call, but both were good. I ordered the Al Pastor tacos, which had pieces of crispy pork, sauteed onions, and cilantro sauce, which were delicious. My boyfriend got the Yimchurri tacos (sp?) which had carne asada, onion, cabbage, and salsa. Also very good (I made him give me a bite, I did not give him a bite of my food). The bar tender was delightful, knowledgeable of the menu, and quick to refill water and beer. Food came out in a reasonable amount of time, and the ambiance was nice: pretty chill with a pretty low level of noise the night we were there so we were able to chat at a normal volume. The rooftop was open, which we checked out and people seemed to be enjoying, but it was kind of hot out that night so we opted to sit in, which we did not regret. I worked at this location for over a year until I moved and must say it's one of the best places I've ever worked. The staff is quality and diverse, some have been there for many years which makes for a good experience on both sides. I've been told there has been a change in management but don't worry, the guy running it is wonderful and been with the company many years. Atmosphere is a something for everyone and I mean everyone. Sports, bar crawls, dance music, company private events, you name it! There is a rooftop, it's open all year long- heated in winter, fans in summer. They show all the pay per view fights with little or no cover. Wings are very popular but if you're the healthy of the group, salmon burger- salads with grilled chicken ect. Things like honey mustard are made in house!! I look forward to seeing the new look with the remodel next time I'm back in DC More...

I would occasionally visit Public Bar their monthly Poetry Night event on Wednesday's which also happens to be Wing Wednesdays! These wings really surprised me, they are so yummy, flavorful and fresh. Fried just perfect and the buffalo sauce isn't too overpowering. I haven't been to Public Bar outside of the poetry night but if I am ever in the area on a Wednesday, I am definitely stopping by for the wings! More...
