What makes a great website?
There are three criteria all great websites must have:
1. Mobile Responsiveness: The web is changing drastically as it is dynamically. Smartphone usage has completely transformed the way people browse the web today, and so designing a website with a mobile-first approach is a must.
2. User Interface: A well-designed user interface, a term meant to describe the layout of a website, is a significant detail all the great websites have in common. When users browse a page, they hope to discover an organized website that has an intuitive, easy to navigate layout.
3. Graphic Design: How it looks matters. Banners, logos and other graphics help complement the overall look and feel of a website. A user gains the trust of a brand by how professional the visuals look. Great websites incorporate professionally designed graphics into their websites with the purpose of enhancing the user experience.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
The question I often ask my customers before starting a new project is to ask about designs that inspire them. This helps me get a definitive picture in my mind of where to start before the creative process begins.
What do you love most about your job?
What I love the most about my job is helping the hundreds of businesses I have had the privilege to serve over the past decade with their website design and development needs. There is no greater satisfaction than seeing a customer happy with your work. I have a genuine passion for technology and design, making a career in website design and development the perfect vehicle for me to express my creativity.
What inspired you to start your own business?
After I graduated college, I fulfilled a lifelong dream of reselling computer hardware and electronics by starting an online e-commerce business. I hired an outside web design and development agency to build a website for me, paying out what amounted to my life savings at the time. I received a low level of customer service, budget overruns, delayed project completion dates, and an overall lack of communication. From that point forward, I started my own agency, vowing to provide my customers with an exceptional level of customer service. Ten years and hundreds of happy customers later, I have no regrets whatsoever.
