5 stars even close to enough for the work done by Powell Media Concepts. I worked with Ben and his partner Taylor to create a promotional video for my design business last year. I still get comments weekly about how creative, professional, and clever the video is. You know, I wish I could take all the credit myself... but that wouldn't even be close to the truth. When I came to PMC, I have a very simple high-level idea. I wanted to make a video that showcased my company and work in a short video. After that, (very smartly) I let the experts take over. The video turned out more amazing than I could have ever dreamed. Both Ben and Taylor are the perfect blend of technical experts and artistic visionaries who were able to collaborate on writing a tight script, frame drop dead gorgeous shots, add organization to a somewhat chaotic shooting schedule due to a last minute change in weather conditions, direct a bunch of non-professional actors on how to act naturally in front of the camera, and select the perfect soundtrack to fit the vibe of the video. Most impressively, they were able to coach someone like me (who is afraid of speaking on camera) to look and sound surprisingly natural and authentic. The list could go on and on...If you're looking for premium, high-quality, and creative storytelling through video or photos, I can't recommend PMC enough. Ben and his team created a spectacular marketing video that blew our entire executive team and staff away. He listens to what your needs are and offers great ideas to achieve your goals. He is detailed oriented, organized, and easy to work with. On the day of our shoot, Ben had a check list of shots he needed to take and executed with efficiency. His quick turn-around time for our video product and revision shows that he is proficient in video editing. Beyond that, he also understood the importance of sound in a video. He developed the script and worked with us to perfect our voice-overs, his selection in background music to tie it together gave our video the modern feel. If we are ever in the market for another video of some sort, I'd definitely come back to use Ben. TLDR: High quality product, incredibly reasonable price. We placed a high priority on our wedding photos, and we're so glad we went with Taylor and Ben. We met with three photographers, and Taylor and Ben were the most accommodating and shared our perspective on what we wanted for our photos. They took the time to answer our many questions, responded to emails within a day or two, and helped us enormously with our day-of timeline. Taylor and Ben captured both posed portraits and candid moments from our wedding, while being unobtrusive. I don't know how they did it, but people are smiling in every single photo! The colors and quality of the photos are beautiful; we just got our wedding album and are so happy with it.

Taylor and Ben were a joy to work with. During the planning process, Taylor was extremely responsive and helpful. They were willing to drive a bit out of the way to a location we picked out for our engagement session. They got the pictures to us within a week since they knew we wanted to use them for our save the dates and offered to retouch the picture we chose. On the day of the wedding, they were prompt and kept to the timeline. They were very efficient with the formal pictures and managed to wrangle the bridal party. We were able to get pictures at a variety of locations at our venue. During the ceremony, we didn't even notice they were there (unlike photographers at some weddings). Working with Taylor and Ben was one of the easiest and best decision we made throughout the entire wedding planning process. We LOVED working with Taylor and Ben! They were friendly and comfortable, while still being professional. When I looked for a photographer for my wedding, my biggest concern was, would they be cool with my bridal party and family? Because I've been in weddings where that's wasn't the case---and it's been tough. I knew the minute we met Taylor and Ben that they would be amazing with us and our entire wedding crew.

Not only were they chill and fun to work with, but they also do amazing, beautiful work. They captured so many unscripted, priceless moments from our day-moments I completely missed as they happened. Yet they also managed to take every one of our dozens of requested group shots with aplomb.

Planning a wedding across the country was at times incredibly challenging, however, choosing Taylor and Ben as our wedding photographers was one of our easiest decisions. Taylor and Ben are two talented, warm, flexible, accommodating, caring individuals. Before meeting in person, we had the opportunity to meet through FaceTime. We could sincerely feel their professionalism, dedication and excitement a few thousand miles away. Taylor was incredibly responsive via email, I would receive a response to a question typically within an hour, if not earlier. The day of our wedding, they arrived early, calm and ready to go. They were photography ninjas, capturing so many memorable moments from several angles without being distracting. We genuinely couldn't have picked a better photography duo to capture our big day. Ben and Taylor were absolutely wonderful to work with for our videography. I especially appreciate how they were able to work with us to set up an easy-to-use live stream of our wedding ceremony so that my Nana and Great Aunts could watch along even though they were unable to be there in person. This was so important to me and they made it so simple! They also did such a great job of capturing all the important moments of our wedding in an unobtrusive way, especially the toasts. We are so relieved that we can go back and watch/listen to those speeches with clear audio. Taylor and Ben were phenomenal to work with! We did an engagement session with them back in October and they had wonderful tips on where to have the session, what we should wear and were very good at directing us with exactly what to do and how to pose. Throughout the planning process, Taylor was responsive whenever I emailed her with a question. On our wedding day, they were prompt, flexible (we were running late) and a pleasure to work with. The most hectic part was wrangling my large family for portraits post-ceremony and they were organized and Taylor was loud (which was very important). The best part was we got the majority of portraits out of the way before the ceremony so we could spend ample time with our guests. Ben sent me sneak pics (formatted to Facebook cover and profile pic sizes) the next day and they are breath-taking. I look forward to receiving the rest of the pictures back. We hired Taylor and Ben for our wedding and engagement pictures. So far we have only had our engagement pictures done, but they are fabulous! The pictures they took are truly beautiful. They offer a variety of packages for weddings and engagements. They are both very professional and work well with clients.

Taylor and Ben were amazing wedding photographers! Very easy to work with and super responsive. My now-husband and I are not picture people, and we were looking for a basic but high quality photography package that also offered good value. Taylor and Ben fit the bill perfectly for us!

Taylor was very helpful in planning and working with us to think through organizing the photography timeline. Taylor and Ben also scouted out locations for photos at our venue before our event. The only thing I might have done differently would have been to discuss/vet the locations beforehand. We had to move inside as it was very humid out, and our family portraits ended up being taken in the busy hotel lobby with a restaurant as part of the backdrop which didn't do much for the photos and added to the chaos of trying to organize people.

Overall though, working with Taylor and Ben was a great experience for us, and I would highly recommend them as wedding photographers. More...

Taylor and Ben are a talented, creative, and unfailingly professional photography duo. My husband and I really enjoyed working with them when they shot our wedding in August and we recommend them highly to other engaged couples. Some of our wedding choices were a bit unorthodox - we didn't have an official wedding party and we chose to forego standard photo ops ranging from cake cutting to a bouquet toss - but we were nevertheless delighted with how our photos turned out and Taylor and Ben were flexible and accommodating throughout. They took our suggestions and priorities to heart (for example helping us get some photos during a narrow timeframe at sunset on the waterfront at our venue) but were never pushy or in our faces. Apart from the hour or so before the ceremony when we specifically made time for portraits and couples shots, we barely noticed they were there.

It was clear to us from the start that we would be getting great quality and value by using Taylor and Ben's services, and their responsiveness and professionalism were beyond reproach - I don't think I ever went more than a few hours without hearing back from Taylor anytime I reached out to her, and she and Ben are zero-drama, which was one of our biggest priorities for our vendors during the wedding planning process. As they're a fairly new husband and wife photography team in the DC area, I have no doubt theirs will be among the most highly sought out local businesses for wedding photos before too long - book them while you can! Ben & Taylor are the most fantastic wedding photographers. From our first meeting with them, we just felt so at ease and it really showed in our photos. We took our pictures outside in crazy, humid, DC summer heat and we (and our whole wedding party) look downright comfortable in all of them. My wife and I got married on May 31, 2014. Hiring Ben and Taylor as our photographers was one of the best decisions we made in the entire wedding planning process. They were courteous, upfront about everything, and reachable whenever we needed them. They even walked through our venue with us so we could show them some of our favorite places ahead of time. And on the actual day of our wedding, Ben and Taylor were flexible to our needs, letting us know they understood that the schedule might change at the last minute. They even helped us come up with backup plans in case rain interfered with our pictures. (Thankfully, it didn't!)

They are recent newlyweds themselves, so they related to where we were coming from and helped capture the best day of our lives. We did a ton of research to find the best photographer out there and we found Ben and Taylor's prices to be extremely competitive. We were very satisfied with the finished product. Taylor & Ben are wonderful. They were very professional, outgoing, and patient. Our photos are beautiful, and the pricing was very reasonable. The only negative I can think of is that one of them is in the video of our wedding taking photos in front of us while we are saying our vows.

Ben Powell Photography lived up to their hype. When they were able to shoot our engagement photos based on my husband's very tight Army leave schedule, we were hooked. For the wedding, Ben and Taylor not only studied my Pinterest account to get a feel for the style of photographs I wanted, but they arrived with an organized agenda, and executed it with perfect professionalism while still being personable. They worked with us to customize a package that fit our needs and our price range. Ben and Taylor were the videographers for our October 2013 wedding in Washington, DC. We decided to hire videographers after initially thinking we did not need our wedding recorded. Man, we are so happy that we changed our minds! The wedding videos (short and long versions) were breathtaking. They were awe-inspiring in quality. The wedding looked beautiful and it was obvious that everyone was having a good time. People who have seen the videos have commented how they look like movies, and we couldn't agree more. We are glad that we made this investment so that we can forever watch our video and be reminded of the day that we were united as one.

Ben and Taylor were flexible in creating a package that met our budget and were kind enough to welcome us into their home to discuss options and view their past work. After meeting them in person, there was no doubt that we would hire Ben and Taylor. We loved their professionalism and their chemistry was a plus! (You really can't beat having a husband and wife pair shoot your wedding!)

I love Ben and Taylor! Not only are their services amazing, but they are a delight to work with! During our last consultation, I mentioned a slow-motion video booth idea and Ben took it and ran. It was a hit at our wedding- all our friends and family had so much fun playing around and watching the slow-mo playback...and then we go the video back-- AMAZING. Ben had sorted through all the clips, picked the best ones, and put it all to sound..the result was unbelievable. We loved working with Ben and Taylor. They were really nice from the first meeting and were easy going, so easy to work with during our wedding day/night. The photos turned out gorgeous. The only thing I would have done differently was picked out the location of where we were to take photos with our families. Ben and his crew came highly recommended from a family member. I needed to pull off my wedding without having the benefit of a large budget. My ceremony was beautifully captured by Ben Powell Media. The shots were original, and very creatively done. I can look at my wedding album and relive it all through the professional photographs that I have to cherish as a keepsake. I owe alot of the precious memories to Ben Powell Media for preserving them.There are pictures of people that I was not aware that came to the wedding only because they did not make it to the reception, and I was such a ball of nerves, that I didn't see everyone in the church. My focus was on getting down the isle and saying my vows on this day. So, Ben Powell Media captured so much that I was not able to see that day.

Ben and Taylor did an amazing job for my surprise proposal. They came out the day before to go over my plan and decide on a location where they could hide and shoot the event. I loved the fact that they did that because it really calmed my nerves. After I proposed they did a quick photo shoot of my fiancé and I. The photos turned out awesome! Ben & Taylor are the dream team when it comes to photography!!! They were the absolute picture of professionalism during my wedding: they made both me & my fiance (who are slightly camera-shy), AND my guests feel completely at ease, were very flexible with locations and times, and absolutely creative in the poses and shots that they captured! They were not disruptive to the ceremony or reception at ALL (I barely realized they were there) and all of my guests commented on how impressed they were with their professionalism.

Ben & Taylor have a great eye for lighting, spots for perfect shots, and really tailored my photos to what I wanted for my wedding day. They were constantly in contact with my (now) husband and I prior to the wedding to talk about schedules, picture ideas, and get a general feel of what story we wanted our pictures to tell. They even have a pinterest and facebook account where you can communicate desired photo ideas!

Lastly, these two are just so personable and sweet. My husband and I instantly liked them both for their honest and friendly demeanor and will definitely use them again for any photo opportunity we might need in the future. I'm also recommending them to ALL of my friends in this area who are getting married because they truly have amazing talent, run a reliable, professional photography service, and have REASONABLE prices for the D.C. area (they could definitely charge MUCH more for the quality of the services they provide!!!).
