As a New Yorker, I can vouch for this place. You won't regret it. Don't walk, run here it's that good.

Excellent quality Pizza. Small little joint, but from what I witnessed at lunchtime, a VERY popular spot. They have 3, 2-top booths, 3 tables inside and some tables and a window bar for seating options. Nice little vibe, great staff and a nice selection of pizza (even multiple options for those picky Vegans). The Meat Jesus slices I had were excellent and I really wanted to try the Mac & Chz slice, but it's only available on Sundays for some reason. Now, the slices are very reasonable priced, but that adds up when it comes to a whole pie; some running $30+. However, the quality is there and as long as you're not feeding a troupe of your Paisano's then it's a good deal. Although, since it was the holidays my friend wanted to buy pizza for the 30+ at the office, but at that price I told him most people wouldn't appreciate the gesture enough to warrant the multi-hundred $ purchase, but if you can afford it, do it.They do have a shared parking lot so that provided a quick stop during lunch, but when the bar is open, I'm sure it's packed. Not gonna lie - this place is a great substitute for NY pizza for LA. An awesome place to grab a quick + cheap bite in the outskirts of the Arts District area near Bread Lounge + Bestia. I've come here on many occasions and they always had seating available. You order at the front and they bring out the slices for ya. See below for my rankings on the slices that I've had the pleasure to eat:- White slice: top favorite hands down. the sauce dollops is creamy and mild and gives it the specialness of a white pizza. Wish they gave a tad more dollops! - sopressata: second favorite if you want something with protein! - margherita: sold one for the books - cheese: it's just ok. Costco cheese pizza will hit the spot a lil better. - mac and cheese: blander side of town - pass for me next time. They make a good slice but the consistency lacks here and there which is ok! However, the one thing that kinda knocks away one star is how much chewing you will do aha. The crust is a little bit hard and oh boy my jaw does some serious work here. The scene is very lively + eclectic here - love how they have so many pizza options plus vegan ones! More...

Get the Sicilian! It's damn good! Also like the Mac and cheese pie on Sundays and the broccolini us really good too. Also they sell stacks of day old slices for really cheap and the ambiance is divey and fun. I think you can bring food over to the bar next door too. Service can be hit or miss, but staff generally pretty nice. Food can be a little hit or miss too, but when it's on it's on. More...

I enjoy the atmosphere at this place since I use to work in the fashion industry I appreciate the Art and how the furniture looks works with the lighting and decor on the walls. I also love their pizza we came here with my Aunt who is a huge Pizzanista fan so I was excited and let me just say this met my expectations I am pretty picky about my pizza but this place has amazing crust amazing flavor and I love their garlic knots. Aside from the fact they have a great variety of drink they even have Kambucha! I am most definitely coming back More...

Best pizza in DTLA. Good sized NY style slices for very reasonable prices. Most spots in LA charge $5 or more for a piece of cardboard, but not Pizzanista. A huge slice of cheese will only set you back 3 bucks and some change. They also have great vegan pizza. Their Mac n cheese pizza is a must try. More...

Pizzanista! is an awesome, cozy, hole-in-the-wall local pizzeria in the Arts District...you know, the kind of place that makes a district into more of a neighborhood. It's like, if you were moving here from Brooklyn, this would be the final word in the final argument that you should live in the Arts District...good coffee, good pizza, cute dogs...what more could you wish for. You don't even have to deal with the metro. And Pizzanista! has allthe options--vegan? GF? Rejoice. I think that's what the awkward exclamation point is celebrating!?! More...

Found this place while craving pizza on a little road trip up to Los Angeles. Saw that it was New York style pizza and was a little skeptical; having had authentic NY style pizza in Manhattan. Ordered a cheese slice and a Margherita slice and was beyond amazed. The pizza was amazing! The slice was perfectly thin and had that crispy chewiness that is unique to NY style pizza. The Margherita pizza's sauce was super tasty and the basil and mozzarella cheese were fresh and fragrant. The cheese pizza was also amazing with a perfect balance of cheese and sauce to create that one tasty slice. The prices are reasonable and totally worth the stop. Highly recommend Pizzanista and will definitely be stopping by on my next trip to LA More...

Pros:This was worth the effort to go find. The meat Jesus was delicious! The first slice was the best - nice and toasty with a nice crunch without being hard. Generous meat and cheese without carbs getting in the way. I do have to say each successive slice was less amazing as it cooled, but overall very good pizza.Cons:1. Not much seating inside2. The parking looks like it's one way and one lane, with diagonal stalls to indicate flow of traffic, but it's a dead end inside. So you just need to make your awkward Austin Powers u-turn and hope nobody's coming in as you go out. More...

Pizzanista is still my favorite place for slices in DTLA. The sourdough crust they use is really delicious. My personal favorite is the Sicilian. Go on Tuesdays for $2 cheese and pepperoni slices! 4 stars because they could really use some process improvements. If you go during busy times, be prepared to wait for a long while in line. It seems like the person working the register is usually stretched thin, taking orders, delivering food to tables, and clearing tables while trying to move the line along. More...

It is rare to find a pizzeria in Los Angeles that does New York City style pizza well. The crust is perfectly thin and their margherita is the best! The flavors are on point and there are so many vegetarian options. They have slices to go and whole pizzas that you can order. One night a week they also discount their slices, so it can get busy there. But it is definitely worth the visit and the wait! More...
