Pietris is THE BEST! The food is made from scratch with fresh ingredients and so tasty. We love the saganaki or flaming cheese, Greek burger (get it with an impossible patty), Greek salad, soup, eggplant dip, and the yummy breakfasts! We love the bogoutsa (bring the chocolate back!), egg dishes, fresh juices and bagels. And then there is dessert! So many yummy choices. Plus homemade ice cream. Grab a Freddo Espresso and a cookie (Kourabi and Ergalvos are our favorite). They accommodate vegetarians and vegans as well. Try it once and you will be back! And don't forget to leave without a fresh load of bread. The best bakery/restaurant ever. More...

One of my favorite spots on 2nd Street! Love the look of the place, friendly staff and cool bakery vibe. The food is delicious! From their breakfast menu is highly recommend the Athenian skillet and their Greek yogurt, as for lunch/dinner their musaka is amazing! Their pastries and gelatos are also great and go really well with their Greek coffee! More...

Every time I come down to SoCal, it's a must that I stop in here for their baklava and Greek coffee. This place is definitely a neighborhood charm with excellent Greek-Mediterranean pastries and food. Their baklava is bigger than a 3 year old's hand. They're puffy, not too sweet, quality walnuts and spices with just the right amount of honey. My gf and I paired their baklava with Vanilla whiskey gelato and a nice cup of Greek coffee. Our experience was great! We LOVED their baklava! It's so good, it's the best I've had so far up to date. Coming here is a must. Plus this place has a nice luxury-plush look and feel to it. It's almost like a Greek boutique bakery shop that should be in Beverly Hills. I'm definitely coming back! More...

We had lunch here while staying in Long Beach marina overnight. We had some shopping to do at the Ace Hardware next door. I searched out for vegan lunch options and this restaurant was one of the few that came up in the area. We walked by and saw it was quite busy and the decor and vibe seemed good so we popped in. They didn't have much in the way of vegan options, but they did offer the impossible burger. Downside it is it was $15. Upside is it was quite delicious and the cheese they used melted wonderfully! The Mr. and I split it along with the fries that came with. You also get a free dessert with Yelp check in, and the waitress was nice enough to give me a vegan dessert even though that wasn't one of the free options. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are in the area. More...

If you are anywhere near Belmont Shore, you owe yourself a stop here. Whether for desert or a full meal, they got you covered. We often make it our desert spot if in the area. The Greek Gelato is amazing and so many great options. My favs are the Melon, Stratiachella or the Marana Cherry, but the others are great as well. The bakery puts out incredible treats which taste as good as they look. We even ordered a birthday cake from them and it was the highlight of the party. Can't say enough good things about this Gem. We are proud regulars. More...

My friend had the omelette and equally impressive. The price was right too. Our sever Ori went above and beyond. Make sure to check in for a free mini desert. You won't be disappointed. I discovered this place the past week and I've been there twice since.  The staff is amazing and the food is delicious in that are vegan options there's completely fresh with heirloom tomatoes in olive oil and it just smells like you're sitting in Umbria instead of on 2nd Street Belmont Shore.  I highly recommend this place I went yesterday morning and had a scramble all vegetables that was to die for and satisfying!!! This is a Greek bakery cafe with so many delicious items to choose from! It's all made right there in house...and as we sat enjoying our desserts, we could get a whiff of different things baking in their oven. It all smelled amazing! We walked in only for gelato, but we were kinda wishing we had come here for our meal as well...lol! They serve everything here...breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, and a long list of coffees. And to make it even more authentic, they actually have Greek and other European servers working here. Everyone is very friendly & helpful. I loved that they have some gelato flavors that you don't see everywhere...like Pomegranate, Salted Butter Caramel, Banana, and Blood Orange. I tried a few, but I always seem to stick with the Stracciatella flavor. There was also a Yelp check in deal for a free mini dessert...and you get to pick 1 of three different types! I can't wait to come here & try all their other delicious picks! More...

FOOD:Pastries, bagels, desserts and even breakfast, lunch or dinner!Love this Greek Bakery because it's also a restaurant too. Not only do they have freshly baked bagels and pastries, they also serve Gelato! Over 9 different flavors. So happy. SERVICE:All customers have access to WiFi, I have been here a handful of times and both the internet and customer service has been good. we stumbled upon this place by accident, merely because we were looking for someplace to take our daughter for breakfast. Since we had not been to, or even heard of a Pietris before, we decided to give it a try. The food was excellent, and prices are all right, though not especially good or terrible, just average. they have a miniature bakery that on first glance reminds me of a small Porto's, but the pastries are more expensive with a smaller variety than Porto's. service was excellent, the ambience was lovely, and the entire restaurant was clean and well-kept. I was in search of sweets for my siblings. I initially went to a shop across to buy cupcakes however, I cannot eat gluten. I was so happy to find that I did not have to just stare at my siblings eat their sweets but I could choose something. Although there is not a huge selection of gluten free desserts, I was able to get their strawberry macaroon and pistachio (By far my favorite!). I adore how lovely the desserts are displayed. I was able to get a slice of Nougatina. Boy did I savor that slice! I will definitely visit every time I have my family asking for desserts so I won't have to walk to different bakeries. Most importantly this place stays open late. I drive 30 minutes to come here so I really appreciate it! More...

This review is for two pastries we tried. All of their pastries looked amazing but we tried the tiramisu and a custardy-fillo dough thing and it was pretty good. We sat outside with the dog. The tiramisu was a good quality and beautiful, however it did taste like their was a type of liquor in it which I'm not a fan of. I could be wrong but that's what I thought. The other pastry was good, the fillo was flakey and delish. I want to go back and try the food. Overall service was good and patient with us as we oooogled over the pastry case. More...

A 5 star of course, it's a bakery! The treats I got for myself were delicious, I cannot complain. The melomakarona was better than any cookie I've ever had. The portokalopita had a nice orange flavor, spongy like consistency, and very moist cake. The service was great as well, I was helped fast, and did not have to wait more than 30 seconds to order. It was busy in there but there was no line. It was loud and everyone in there had smiles on their faces, probably because they were enjoying some of their favorite desserts and baked goods, hahaha! Pietris is still relatively new to 2nd street, and I have only been there a couple of times. With that being said, I did really enjoy the food I had for lunch, the prosciutto sandwich is a personal favorite, and their cakes are great. We were looking for a great desert spot after eating great Guatemalan delicacies. We came upon Pietris and were ready for what we were going to expect. As you walk into this bakery you get a very modern industrial like vibe. We were overwhelmed by the delicious deserts showcased in front of us. Out of the many options that were displayed, we decided to go with the strawberry cheesecake and the dark caramel cake. These two cakes were undeniably a great choice for our desired drinks(macchiato and a cappuccino). The cheesecake was tasteful, you can really taste the strawberries. The dark caramel cake had a nice even taste of dark chocolate and caramel, it went perf with the macchiato. Staff was friendly and accommodating. There is no other place like this! Wonderful European atmosphere , the aroma of fresh baked goods and robust coffee invites you to sit down and enjoy your morning and afternoon. People travel to Greece and other European countries to experience this and how fitting that it is by the sea. Fanis is very talented. You can see him and his brother every time making sure everything is right. I recommend all the Greek pastries . The Galaktoboureko is amazing. I have had some friends who live in Long Beach rave about this place.  So I decided to give this place a try.  I looked up on YELP and found out that Petris Is located next to Billingsly Hardware on second street .... Yep Located in BELMONT Shores !!!  The first thing I thought was no way.  Traffic any time of the day is congested and parking is non existent.   My friends who live in BELMONT Heights !!!! Were going to walk over and meet me there.  The suggest it get a Uber for there and another for back. Hmm a 10 dollar fare one way for Uber to BELMONT Shore !!!!  That would be a 20 dollar adder to the meal After talking with my friends we decided to pick a watering hole on broadway with a large semi empty parking lot so that they could drive to the place.  Once there I used Grubhub to order our food and deliver it to us.  After about 45 minutes the food came.  It was prepared well and considering our cost was about 13 dollars a person.  Not Bad for ordering food from a store in BELMONT Shore !!!!!  My view remains the same ... It is hard to find any place in BELMONT Shore !!!! That has any economic return.  I must admit that Petris is one that has this value.  Just order off of GrubhubI apologize to the business owners and Land owners/renters in BELMONT Shore !!!!!  ..... But you have been living in un-realestate for more than a half century.  The term Yuppie has its beginning in BELMONT Shores !!! More...

This place is so much more than a bakery!  Located right in the heart of Belmont Shore is this stylish, but cozy restaurant offering some of the best in Mediterranean food.  I stopped by Pietris Sunday morning and really enjoyed this place.  The ambiance (black and white accents for the decor) was nice,  we were greeted quickly and warmly and who who doesn't enjoy seeing tall glasses of ice water coming your way without having to ask?  Our waitress was patient in explaining some of the dishes and while I think it may have taken a bit for the food to arrive when our dishes did come out, the small wait was worth it.The menu has plenty to offer and while we were still in the breakfast time (about 9am), the waitress accommodated our request to add on one of the appetizers.  Really nice touch. They have a nice selection of drinks and specifically, the special blend of juices named after Greek Gods.  I went for the Heraclitus (a refreshing mix of pineapple,  kiwi and mango) for my juice, the Athenian breakfast skillet and my friend and I split the feta, Greek honey and sesame appetizer.  Absolutely delicious.Check out this place when in the Long Beach area- you won't be disappointed! I came here originally because it was conveniently located near my friends house, however this is definitely a destination spot for brunch.  The croissant egg sandwich with bacon and potato is soo good - great combination of textures and thick Smokey Gouda.  I also had some of the pancakes which were fluffy and delicious.Esther was an amazing waitress.  She is smart (trilingual), pretty, funny and just super nice and good at her job. It's my 4th time in Pietris Bakery this month. I've tried nearly every dessert in the store. My favorite is the bolero mousse cake. Chocolate mousse with chocolate cake, covered in diced almonds, YUMM! And the seasonal cake pops are sooo cute!  Everything I've tried tastes fresh and like it was just made. Although I haven't had an actual meal at pietris, I will continue to come for the desserts! More...

First time over here and I just found the most original Mediterranean cuisine. Nice desserts and coffees. I tried the greek coffee with the Athenian Skillet. All the ingredients were fresh and warm mixed with eggs and the coffee was really tasteful and the cookie on the side as well. However, the only thing I saw that I would change it is the uniform of the staff. They should all wear the same. But that's something that can be improved in the future. Coming back for sure! Two Words: Great ambiance, service was great. However, I only saw one person behind the counter and one server. My friend has a sweet tooth, so we had to try this place.  We shared an order to ekmek (shredded phyllo dough, custard cream, pistachios and fresh whipped cream).  We never tried it anywhere else, but it looked too enticing to not try.  It was rich, creamy, filling, and delicious.  It went well with our coffee and mint tea.  Staff was nice, decor is beautiful, and the selection of desserts looks amazing.  I'm ready for my next visit and want to try all the desserts. Dessert review: tried three items which included the strawberry cheesecake gelato, free mini dessert with check in, and the Jamaican caramel cake. Strawberry cheesecake gelato was pretty good I'd rate it 3.5/5 it tasted fresh. Strawberry's were good the texture was good the flavor was good... overall good.. not mind blowing but definitely pretty nice. Mini dessert with check in was not very good.... I share it and we both immediately said that it tasted like medicine! But it's technically free so all good...? I wanted to end on a good note! The caramel Jamaican cake was G R E A T ! I really enjoyed it! Definitely a shareable piece. I loved everything about it and definitely will come back to try their food and other desserts!! Texture taste flavor look... all amazing. Some additional points: the place was gorgeous! I loved how clean everything was too! I'm not sure how you order if you dine in (whether you go up to the front and order then sit or if it's traditional restaurant style. The reason being is that we weren't immediately greeted or addressed. We waited for a bit and then was greeted which was  when I asked about the dessert selection. More...

We walked in this place simply because I got hungry after a long drive from LA go LB. It's in the center of Belmont Shore. We originally sat outside because we love the sun, yet it turned out there was a fly around our table. We decided to change to indoor seating. Unfortunately, there is no actual separation/door between indoor and outdoor seating, meaning these flies were around us inside as well. The food was pretty good. Definitely hit the spot. We ordered a vegan tofu skillet and a vegan dip. We shared these two plates and got pretty fulled. The tofu skillet tasted good except the tofu was a bit tasteless. Wish they could add more seasoning on it. The grilled veggies brought me back to the good memories of Santorini. However, I have to say, they are definitely short on staff. Those guys are rushing around but still takes a long time for them to get our orders and serve the food. Even took a while to get our check. Beware! They charge you "plate split" fee for $2.50. If you don't want to get charter for that, order your own meal or ask another small plate. More...

What a lovely and decadent ambiance not typical for a bakery or pastry shop. Visited this place for the first time on a Tuesday evening. Seems family owned but I may be wrong. All representatives working were pleasant, jovial, and efficient. They have a plethora of baked goods, pastries and gelato; however, the gelato's presentation wasn't typical of most gelato boutiques I've been to. It looked somewhat melted, and the taste was slightly off, however, apart from that it was still pretty good (let's just say I had better gelato). Customer service: excellent, efficient, friendly, pleasant, suggestiveAmbiance: open to the street, large windows, lovely decor, grand space for dining in, street views Location: Belmont shore, mostly street (metered) parking, busy street, walkable distance to other shops, residences behind propertyWill return for light pastries, gelato or baked goods as an evening snack. We were there two days in a row. The first day was a better experience than the second one. The salads are really good, but the second day we decided to get a sandwich, and that was mediocre quality. I would say, aside from the obvious sumptuous desserts you should be having, if you are going to have a meal there, stick to the salads and perhaps the specialties such as moussaka, although quite pricey, and skip the sandwiches. It was chaotic and crowded, our server was very green but sweet and was trying to be helpful. Forgot our fruit bowls that were supposed to come with the meal, and had to wait 25 mins. from time of order to receiving our food. I actually love this place. The food is good and very reasonably priced. The breakfast items are especially inexpensive. They have many combinations with a Mediterranean Flair including meat selections with your meal that have very tasty Greek sausages. Pastries are good, fresh, and are equal or better in quality then 95% of patisseries. They are not the highest level as in some cases they are too sweet but they're very acceptable and better than most. They have a bakery with quite a few selections of bread which are priced a little higher then one would expect from the other items on the menu. The bread is not equal to the best bakeries particularly French bakeries but it is good and has an authentic Greek flavor. The only problem here is very slow service. Service is a two-sided coin as they do not push you to finish and get out even if your bill is not high. They give you a chance to sit and enjoy your meal. However in some cases it can take forever to get served and they are not careful to bring separate customer items simultaneously. For some American customers this may not meet up to expected standards however this restaurant is a rare case in which I am willing to overlook that issue. If they could finish and correct this issue the restaurant would be as much as anyone could expect at this price point. I still strongly recommended despite the problems with service. More...

Wow! Finally, an authentic Greek bakery and cafe in the area. I live in California for over 20 years and every time someone invites me to eat at a Greek place I decline since I usually get disappointed. Most places say Greek Mediterranean but they are not. My sister insisted to give it a try and boy am I glad I did! I miss eating real cheese or spinach pies, and sweet syrupy pastries made with real ingredients. The business is family run, and I had the pleasure of meeting the owner. I had to congratulate her for bringing authentic flavors to Southern California. This is not a franchise so don't expect the quick Starbucks type of experience. This is a business run by people who still prepare everything they serve. The baklava wasn't too sweet like a lot I've had. Also the free checkin on yelp dessert is just the perfect size for someone who wants to have a dessert but not go overboard. I would recommend sharing a bunch of desserts between a few people. I haven't had the food here, but every time I walk past this place, it looks really good. If you sit and eat there, they'll bring you the dessert/food/check. You can go in and browse or just sit I think. I'm always a little confused every time I go in, but I'll definitely be back. Fantastic pastries and ice cream. I had a piece of baklava the size of my head, and couldn't bring myself to leave any of it - really delicious! Then, I managed to leave my credit card behind before jumping on a flight back home to Seattle. I just had one of their single serving dark chocolate mousses. (They call it Jamaica.) It was chocolaty and creamy. And most importantly, it had absolutely no odd flavor notes! The only thing negative thing that I have to say about it is that it doesn't travel well. (I was on a bicycle.) That isn't a concern for me. But, if you need to transport it, be careful. More...

First time visit and we were promptly met at the door and told we could sit where ever we wanted.  Our waiter checked in short order and my wife and I selected the Athenian Skillet.  The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time piping hot.  The dish, which came with a side of fresh fruit, was quite delishious. My only complaint was that it took our waiter longer than usual to come back to grab our payment.  He was quite busy with other tables, so maybe more wait staff would be in order. We'll definitely come back to try the other dishes. My boyfriend and I had our Valentine's dinner here and we chose the specials. For appetizer, we shared the Cretan salad which I don't think it should be called salad. There's no veggies, but it comes with cheese and mashed tomato on a Cretan bread. I ordered the bolognese, which came in a large portion with fettuccine noodles and soft chunks of beef. It was really good for my pasta craving. My boyfriend ordered the baked lemon chicken with oregano chicken. The chicken is tender and cooked perfectly, however the potatoes are quite sour due to the lemon in the pan with the chicken. Then we had the baklava with ice cream for dessert. The ice cream is decent, a right amount of sweetness. The baklava has a thick crust but its way too sweet. Overall, it's great for a $49 dinner deal for two people. More...

My five stars are for the experience and the pastries only because I'm not a big egg eater. I recently had the most enjoyable and hilarious time ordering a piece of baklava and cappuccino from a young man whose English skills weren't great but whose charm and good humor more than made up for it. I felt like an American in Greece and you know what? I liked the feeling. This little piece of baklava had chocolate and a hazelnut on top and was probably the best thing I have eaten all year. I bought a tray of them for a party and the hostess called me the next day asking what the hell this crack was, she was licking the plate it was sooooo good. I'll be back. More...

Since this is a recent opening we stopped by to try some pastries and desserts. Food was good. I had a ham and cheese pastry which comes with sides of feta cheese, black olives, diced cucumber and tomatoes. The presentation was impressive. Pastry was taste good too. But comparing to regular ham and cheese the amount of filling was bit smaller. The Jamaican caramel (I think that was the name) pretty good dessert. We also had Ekmek which is a Greek dessert and it was too sweet to me. However I guess that is a quality dessert. Final note about the coffee. The regular latte I had was ok, but not a recalling one. Ambient of the place is quite elegant. The staff was one of the best I ever had. They knew very well about their restaurant.  Overall a great place!! More...

Been here about three times now. The staff are all from Greece and are friendly and helpful. The place looks very clean and I really appreciate their aesthetic. The first two times I went here I got coffee and ice cream. The ice cream is pretty good. I believe they make it homemade. I've sat there twice and both times it was a little confusing as to whether you were to wait to be seated or seat yourself. A minor kink that hopefully they've worked out since I've been there.Their tiropita is good and reminds me of being in Greece ordering a tiropita off the street vendors, nice and chewy filo dough and warm cheese in the middle.I haven't had many of the main dishes there so I can't really speak to those but it's a nice place to sit and I recognize lots of people from the Long Beach Greek community who eat here so I find that comforting.Their sesame seed bread rings (some have said it's the Greek version of a bagel) are a good little snack as well. A Greekate (get it.. it is Greek and it is great.. lol) addition to Long Beach's 2nd St! My girlfriend and I went here before when it was new, but silly me I forgot to yelp it. The ambiance makes me hungry because all you see are different kinds of food on 4 corners of the restaurant. Whether it is gelato, pastries, fresh juices or main dish menus.. they have it all. Their employees are really friendly and  accommodating; you point whatever you want.. they bring it to your table.. awesome :)Their hearty food or main dish varies from day to day. It just happened that they served Bolognese, which is a Greek version of a meat pasta with olive oil and that feta cheese. My girl ordered that one since she needed carbs to run. Anyway.. on the other hand, I ordered their chicken kabob, which they served with fries and yet again their amazing feta cheese. Although these menus are good, they are not what you come here for in my opinion.Yeap we come here for their pastries and freshly squeeze juices! Their pies and croissants are rich on flavor. I ordered their Greek classic cheese pie called Traditional Spanakopita. Oh you bet feta cheese is inside it. You noticed I mentioned feta cheese, a lot because it is the best ingredients that they have. Order whatever they have feta cheese in or on it.. you'll be happy for sure. Of course, my girlfriend ordered their Mille-Feuille, which is a custard layered pastry that my girl can't stop eating whenever we're here. One of their best pastry in this restaurant. We ordered their fresh mixed juices as well. They named all their juices as Greek Philosophers to pay homage to the restaurants roots. I ordered Solon, which is a ginger, mint and green apple combo. It is refreshing and will get rid of your sinus problem because the ginger flavor is strong.. I like it! My girlfriend ordered their Thales, which she loves.. it has grapes, apple, and mango flavor combo. I like the smooth taste of their juices; easy to drink and packs a lot of flavor. Their pricing is quiet reasonable since it is located in the 2nd st of Long Beach. Overall, we went here for the 2nd time, so I do recommend this place :) More...

We will be returning to try their nightly lunch and dinner specials and their gelato, which looked incredible! What a great new find.  We've seen it open for a couple of months and finally decided to give it a shot in spite of some of the reviews.  First off I think it's really a statement that the owner flys in all of his staff from his other restaurants in Greece to bake, cook and run the place.  This explains why the food is so good and possibly why some people have been impatient with the service.  The pastries are incredible and I cannot wait to come back and try more of them.  Definitely try the black rose dessert.I had the lamb burger and it was the best I've ever had and the other meals were great as well.  I love that the bakery and the kitchen are surrounded by glass so you can see right in and watch them make everything right in front of you.  High ceilings and lots of windows to give it a light and airy feel.  The Greek gelato is a nice surprise that you won't find anywhere else.We will definitely be back. I am 100% Greek and I own a Greek restaurant as well.  My wife had heard about this new Greek bakery and we decided to visit today.  The place was excellent both in terms of decor as well in terms of variety of Greek offerings.  The prices were very reasonable as well and the service that we received was very attentive.  The breakfast, deserts and coffee that we purchased were all great and we even bought deserts for our kids to go.  We spoke for a short period with the lady that owns the bakery and she told us that she and her family are from Corinth Greece and that her family owns similar business in Greece. It is upsetting to see several one-star reviews for this place that is clearly a 5-star operation.  The disheartening thing is that some of these reviews are written by Greeks!!!  Instead of recognizing the fact that these people came all the way from Greece and invested a ton of money to build this wonderful business that offers so many nice and unique food products that cannot be found anywhere else, these customers that clearly do not comprehend the undertaking of these owners criticize them and defame them online.  Shame on you!!!  This is new business that opened only two months ago and what they have accomplished so far is astonishing and deserves only praise, not unfair and misplaced criticism. This is a 5-star operation.  Take it from someone that has created and operates a successful restaurant.  I am very happy to see this business come to Long Beach, we will support it with our business as often as we can and we are quite certain that once the word gets out it will be quite successful.  In my opinion it already is quite successful. When I first walked into this place, I felt like I was treated as family or a years-long friend by the staff.  I would describe this place as warm and welcoming.  I sat down and had an espresso which came with some sort of delicious cookie coated in sesame seeds.  My girlfriend had a protein salad, but if we had come here a bit more hungry, would have immediately gravitated toward the mouthwatering roast lamb special.  Honestly spent 10 minutes staring at all the desserts, while a baker passionately explained each one.  Finally settled on the Jamaica Caramel, which was pure decadence but should probably be shared, given the calorie count.  Still kicking myself a bit for not buying a delicious looking freshly baked loaf of bread before I left.  They had many flavors of gelato too, though I was too full at that point to indulge.  100% definitely coming back here, would recommend highly. Awesome Greek cafe on second. The inside aesthetic is beautiful. Amazing job with layout and decor. The freddo cappuccinos were super tasty (the use ily coffee). The spanakopita was tasty as well. I didn't have a chance to try anything else on the menu because I mainly went to try the coffee and cookies. The day I went they were passing out samples of different pastries, a good way to introduce people who are not familiar with Greek cuisine to taste different items. There were a few minor problems I noticed prices, slight confusion with employees, but with any new business it takes time for perfection. Keep up the great work Pietris!!!!! More...

This is by far the best spot to take your breakfast, lunch and whatever you want! The authentic Greek recipes with a friendly and the well organized staff make this store an exception in Long Beach. I tried the meatballs, the spanakopita and a piece of baklava and a Freddo Cappuccino. There were all fantastic. The guys in the bar were very polite! I take a seat in one of the new high tables to enjoy my meal and coffee. The waiter was very quick and polite! I highly recommend this place and for sure I will come back soon!!! More...

This place is amazing! Great food and even better dessert! I tried it for the first time at 10:30 pm (Wednesday night). That's right! They're open til midnight on a weekday. We ate outside, ambience was on point and service was top notch. I couldn't ask for anything more, I'm very happy and excited to have it so close to home. More...

What a great surprise walking on 2nd Street this Sunday. This is @pietris A Greek Bake Shop. It's only been opened for 3 weeks. When you first looked through the window, you can see how pretty the structure is from the outside. Once you step in, the bright white and dark brown makes you feel like a fancy restaurant.  I darted to the pastries and was in awe. Fresh baked goods and pies and great treats. A lady came to us, she was very friendly. She said she just came from Greece and offer her assistance. We decided to dine instead to enjoy our food. I love the quality of this food. I had the traditional cheese pie, spinach and cheese pie and a ice latte. The latte was okay. Another table from me, I saw this drink which had coffee below and cream on top. It looked too delicious so I asked what this was. It was called Freddo Cappuccino. He say just to make it sweet and it's perfect. He was right. This drink was amazing. The taste of coffee was fresh and sweet. That's how I love it. I had too. My heart was making me order the today's special. I ordered lamb and potatoes. Yum yum yum. Tender lamb, great sauce and potatoes.I would recommend this dish.I will totally come back. You should try it out too. I wanted to thank the owner. Young man name Fanis Pietris. I told him there wasn't many good Greek pastries near here and appreciate the food. You know I'll be back. More...

The cappuccinos were cute and perfect. The small strawberry tart was tasty as well. Great prices! Cannot wait to go back to try their prosciutto sandwich! More...

I have been in Pietris two or three times since their opening, mostly observing the layout. The place looks exceptional. Like not a dime was spared. The fact that they actually bake on site is an obvious plus. I have yet to sample the food but I've noticed at least one glaring error in their pricing. The Greek Pagoto (gelato) prices are out of whack. Example;  1 scoop $3.25,2 scoops $5.25, 3 scoops $7.95. Breaking it down; they charge $2.00 extra for the 2nd scoop, and $2.70 extra for the 3rd scoop! What? Why on earth would they charge $.70 more for the 3rd scoop than the 2nd scoop. It would make better sense to charge more for the 2nd scoop than the 3rd one. When I called this to the attention of the kid at the counter he just kind of shrugged his shoulders and said that others had asked but nothing has been done as recently as 2 days ago. This kind of misstep makes me wonder how much time they spent in their decision making on pricing other food items. Aside from some of the bakery items seeming on the smallish side for the posted prices,I'm glad we've got a fresh bakery. They just need to get better organized. I noticed other Yelpers critical of the food prices among other complaints like spotty service. I can understand ironing out the wrinkles when a business opensI'm giving it 3 star rating for appearance until I sample their food. Please Pietri, don't go the way of all the others who ended up closed on this corner in the past.*****Just revised my rating to 4 stars. I had a creme pastry that was outstanding.I'm looking forward to raising it to a 5 star. More...

Stopped by for lunch a couple of weeks ago and decided to post a review since I haven't stopped thinking about my experience! Fantastic food, the lamb melted off the bone and the potatoes were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The coffee was very authentic, tasted great, and the fruit juice was delicious and had just enough pulp to give it a perfect consistency. Also had a tiropita and spanakopita and if I didn't know better I would have though I had teleported to a cafe on Santorini, with Long Beach's oceanside ambiance and the upbeat and excited patrons. My waiter, Malik, was very charismatic and attentive. I can't wait to come back and try another one of their lunch specials. More...

Pietris Bakery is fresh, delicious & officially my new favorite place on 2nd Street. Their staff is very welcoming and were able to answer questions about all of the food selections. The atmosphere is open and inviting. I enjoy walking around looking at all the baked goods. The Athenian Skillet is by far my favorite item on the menu thus far. The potatoes, eggs and feta cheese make a delicious, flavorful combination. More...

This place is charming and a nice addition to the Shore eateries. But the managers need to rethink their hot entrees; we found their chicken fricassee to be woefully dry and hopeless after sitting in its tray all afternoon. This is not a cafeteria! Salads and sandwiches and pretty pastries are a better bet. Still confusion surrounds the menu and I had the sense that waiters are still figuring things out. I hope things improve because I'd love to see success here. Maybe they are trying to offer too much More...

LOVE that they bake all their breads and pastries  on site.  Unlike other so called "bakeries" on second street which DO NOT bake their breads on site but instead shipped them in this bakery actually BAKES !!!Breakfast was good, their pasties were OFF THE HOOK great and their to-go sandwiches look great .  The pastry tasted fresh and yummy. Ours was actually still warm cause it was baked in the morning.  They just opened so the staff is getting their "sea legs" sort to speak so be kind and patient.  I'm sure they will become a favorite to all the locals More...

I had a spanakopita and a koulouri with some frappe for breakfast. All three were really tasty and pretty authentic. The service was attentive. Sitting at the high tables was indeed a bit uncomfortable but I'm sure they can fix it down the line. The current setup of ordering at the counter for to go and ordering at the table for eating in is a bit clumsy. I think it would be better for them to follow Aroma di Roma's steps and have people order at the counter and have the servers bring the food to the tables. That way they can still have a proper table service. Another idea could be to get rid of the table service for breakfast and lunch and bring it back for dinner. They will need to figure it out but I loved every bit of what I had there today and will be back for sure. More...

Stumbeled across this cafe on a Sunday mid-morning. We were with friends, from Greece, and were looking for a place for breakfast and lunch when we saw this. Walked in but were unsure how the whole process worked. There are tables and chairs, that we assumed were for table service as some of the people had menus in hand. However, there was also a line of people ordering. One of our Greek friends stopped a server walking by and they proceeded to speak to each other in Greek. We were told to have a seat anywh
