I passed this shop unexpectedly Friday and just had to go in. I had never heard of them before, but my sweet tooth saw the sign and I was sold. The shop is quaint and small. There were a few people at the tables eating their pies.  After glancing over the menu, I had to try the cuppies (small cup formed pies about the size of cupcakes).  I got the banana pudding and bourbon chocolate pecan to go. The service was friendly and quick. They also had some free samples at the counter, which is nice. I ate my cuppies later that night and they were so good! The banana pudding brought me right back to childhood. Delicious pudding, fluffy whip cream, and a cookie on top. I loved it. Then the bourbon pecan. Let me preface this by saying pecan pie is my absolute favorite. And I'm happy to say the pie sisters did not disappoint. The bourbon chocolate was decadent while having that traditional pecan flavor. I literally enjoyed every bite.  Overall, I really enjoyed the cuppies and look forward to trying other flavors some day. More...

Tiny. Pies. Need I say anything else?I looooove dessert, and I get sweet cravings all the time (a serious challenge to my fitness goals). Often, I don't even want much--just a bite or two of something sweet, creamy, or cakey. Luckily for me, Pie Sisters totally understands that. Their mini banana creme pie hit the spot without any of the guilt of an entire slice. I was able to eat it while I walked around Georgetown and Rosslyn--not just delicious and shameless, but portable too!! And don't think for a second that its size made it any less delicious. The crust was well done, the filling was cold and fresh, and the cream on top was light and airy. Such a perfect choice for the warmer DC days. I would definitely come back for a slice... or a whole pie... More...

I really love this pie shop. It's close to my work, so I grab a quick bite here from time to time. The sweet pies are delicious, but where I think they really shine is their savory pies. Best chicken pot pie I've ever had. Also, if you're bored with cupcakes, the mini-pies are a fabulous alternative. More...

Despite the incredible number of dessert spots that Georgetown has to offer, Pie Sisters still manages to stand out as one of the best. The service is delightful, as the entire staff is incredibly friendly and warm, and they have a great selection of pies that are sold whole, by the slice, or in the form of a miniature "cuppie." I've tried their coconut creme, jumbleberry, and key lime, and they were all absolutely divine. The cuppies have a slightly excessive amount of crust, but the serving size is perfect. Each flavor was perfectly made and their prices were really reasonable as well. The shop itself is humble, but cute and relaxing. It's a great spot to relax with a bit of delicious pie. The location is admittedly a bit awkward, as it's right next to Key Bridge behind the Canal Road entrance to Georgetown University, but it's definitely a worthwhile spot to visit. More...

Best coconut cream and chocolate cream pie I've ever had. My husband and I ordered a bunch of slices when we first came here (we tried apple, pecan, berry, and strawberry rhubarb I think) and everything was good to very good but every time I come here now I keep ordering the cream pies because they're so decadent. Pie.....before visiting this fine establishment they meant nothing to me! But now I can truly say pie sisters has given me a new outlook on this popular desert lol! I think it's the mini pies that I love here, that catch my attention each visit. I like that with the minis you can get several and taste different flavors without feeling too much guilt! I usually get the four pack that you can fill a box with. My favorite so far is the key lime and caramel apple crumble. Baked to perfection everyday there is no way you can't add this to one of the best hidden gems in Georgetown. They are located on the corner and have a few seats inside if you decide to stay for awhile. I must have been extremely overeager to try Pie Sisters, because I must have stopped by thrice prior to them opening on a Saturday morning. Pie Sisters looks extremely modest from the inside, like a humble sit down diner. You order at the front and then can sit down and eat your pies as needed. My favorite thing about Pie Sisters is that there were two pie options - a regular slice and a mini pie option. I ended up ordering a cookies and cream mini pie, and I was very happy with the filling. The pie expectedly had a higher crust-to-filling ratio, and I was definitely craving more filling as I ate. However, the serving size of the mini pie was perfect.I wish I could only dock half a star, but the cream that sat atop the mini pie was just a bit excessive, given the amount of filling I received. However, the flavor was just so good, I'm excited to go back! More...

Georgetown is oversaturated with dessert options, which makes it difficult for any individual to stand out. The fact that Pie Sisters is located all the way over by Key Bridge definitely does not do it any favors, at least when it comes to tourists who probably stick to the more central parts of M Street. Even I had no idea this was here until one day we were heading to Rosslyn via car and just happened to glimpse the storefront as we turned onto the bridge.Having seen this, we incorporated it into a dessert crawl we did in Georgetown on a Saturday. We showed up right as the place was opening up and thus there was no traffic there yet. Since I was not hungry enough to eat an entire slice of pie, I opted for a cookies n cream "cuppie" which was this interesting pie-like take on a cupcake where the piecrust formed the outer shape of the cupcake and the cream filling went in the middle. I thought it was an innovative dish, and it tasted quite pleasant. The one gripe I had was that the cuppie was a little heavy on the crust for my liking, due to the crust wrapping all the way around the dessert. This caused it to not be as sweet.I really did enjoy Pie Sisters and, while it may not be the absolute best dessert spot in Georgetown, I would come back (albeit try perhaps an entire slice of pie to get more of the pie filling and less of the crust)! I’ve been driving by this place for years but never gone in because I could ever find a decent place to park in crowded Georgetown. While out and about on appointments yesterday, I swore if there was a parking spot out front I would pop in. Well, the parking gods were in my favor because I found a spot right out front. Fate was telling me pie was in my future! The crowded little shop is adorable, with ample seating both at low and high top tables. I was really going in for just one “slice” (not really a slice, more like a single-serving personal pie) of pie but everything looked so delicious I bought four! I tried to tell myself I was going to share with my husband but even I knew I was probably lying. Frankly, I wanted a taste of everything in display! The pies I tried were yummy, although the crust was a little too crunchy. The chocolate pie was absolutely dreamy! My husband devoured the Keylime pie.On the downside, the counter clerk wasn’t very friendly. One would expect that counter staff would be as cheery as the idea of eating pie in the middle of the day. Really cute atmosphere inside, cozy and tucked away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Georgetown. Really nice staff when I ordered. I got the cookies and cream cuppie and the salted caramel chocolate in a slice. The pies themselves were both great and super rich. The only thing I didn't love was the amount of whipped cream--it took away from the pie itself. The whip wasn't flavorful enough to take such a big part in the dish. Also, the crusts were a little bit tough. Overall, good variety of flavors, nice environment and seems like fresh ingredients. More...
