Nil, Sam and the crew only know one thing, and that's to provide top quality and service. Team was courteous, on time and very skilled. Communication was also excellent. .My house had varnished fir beadboard on the soffits that had gotten stained over the years and they were able to restore it to original condition. Mike and James did a great job, first last fall in getting the primary part of the job done under difficult weather conditions, then this spring in finishing the work and touching up any parts of the late fall painting that didn't wear well over the winter. They were easy to work with, highly skilled, and attentive to detail. They left the job site in perfect condition. Phinney Ridge Painting painted our house plus provided some minor carpentry work this past fall. They also connected us with a fantastic roofing contractor who replaced our roof. Pros: One stop shop - they handle everything that needs to be done, including carpentry, roofing, etc.. Excellent painting job, both prep and actual painting, a huge difference over a previous painting contractor. Mostly easy to work with (see cons) and upfront on costs. Cons: Mainly communication; sometimes we felt like we were out of the loop. Job was done late in the year and times kept sliding. Given the weather, though, this was not really 100% their fault. Pleasant experience all around. Once colors were chosen, the team took care of color matching for trim and replacing of some baseboards. Was able to enjoy the finished project right away thanks to use of low VOC paint for our interior house job. Very happy with carpentry experience (consult, build, paint, install) for shelving. Hired to put up outdoor Christmas lights on home and a few bushes. They responded soon after I submitted a request online and Marissa always replied quickly, was good with my questions and explained things clearly. I selected Phinney Ridge Painting (PRP) to work on my house after reviewing 3 three bids. Phinney Ridge had the highest bid but when I spoke to their references they all spoke highly of the quality of the workmanship and staff. Also, I wanted a company that could do both painting and carpentry work. The initial work with PRP began with a rotten deck pillar needing repair and a house that needed siding replacement and painting. As the work progressed, structural rot was found and Sam (general manager) facilitated a quality contractor, Ryan of Rhino Construction to make repairs on short notice when I was out of town in a different time zone. Sam kept in regular contact with photos, emails, and texts regarding the progress of the work and costs. Windows needed to be replaced (Rhino Construction) and further carpentry and painting work was done by PRP, inside and out, to complete the job. From start to finish over a total period of about 6 months, the PRP staff (Sam, Alex, Robbie, Falco and many more) were professional, taking pride in their work, and paying attention to the details needed to do a quality job. They kept a clean worksite, arrived on time, and were very respectful of me and my home, inside and out. I had Phinney Ridge Painting clean and restain the ipe woodwork on my house and deck. Mike and his crew were amazingly thorough, with a superior attention to detail. Highly recommend. We got a quote from Phinney in 2017, it was a lot, the most expensive quote we had. For a year i looked around and saw their work. Anywhere I saw their sign I would inspect and talk to the owners if I could. In 2018, we hired them for our 100yr old craftsman that had been neglected. It was worth the $$. As I walk my dog around Queen Anne Hill, I would often see Phinney Ridge Painting signs in neighbor's yards. I watched their painters at work and it seemed like they were significantly more detailed in everything they did. Especially how they prepped the exterior. So I had them give me a bid for a project we've since had to put off, but they were the most thorough– outlining lead abatement, prep, wood rot repair and clean up than any other painter who gave us a quote. Phinney Ridge Painting is a fantastic painting/carpentry group. Their crews (ranging from painters to carpenters to patchers) are professional, timely and courteous. Sam, the project manager is excellent with communicating and offers great solutions to issues which may arise. In terms of pricing, they are fair, not too expensive, not too cheap, but their work is top notch.I know that when PRP is doing a job with us that they won't be done until the customer is happy with the work. My husband and I hired Phinney Ridge Painting (PRP) Company in June to paint our house. We knew that they would do an above average job and that they guaranteed their work. What we did not know is how amazing they would be in responding to the crisis we faced when, while painting, they discovered major structural damage involving a thirty foot wide wood beam that held up an outdoor deck over an interior portion of our home.Upon learning of the damage, PRP immediately put us in touch with contractors who specialized in this type of work. PRP has developed strong working relationships with many of these contractors over the years so the contractors had an incentive to work with PRP customers. Harjo Construction did all of the construction and structural work.The structural work was major and involved the logistics of moving an 800 pound steel beam through a very tight space which eventually replaced the rotted wood beam. Because everything was connected, the entire deck had to be replaced and that work spanned a four month time period.Phinney Ridge Painting and Harjo Construction were exceptional in their communication skills, creativity, flexibility in responding to ever changing conditions, and dedication to a quality of work that is outstanding. We would add that Harjo Construction agreed to take on this difficult project even though they already had a full summer workload with their existing projects.We are so pleased with Phinney Ridge Painting and Harjo Construction that we plan to use them for all of our upcoming projects.
