Scheduling was easy, especially since I called with short notice (2 days prior) and was even able to accommodate me again after I had to push back the time originally set. The movers arrived on time and very friendly. They shrunk-wrap all of my furniture, and we're very conscious of making sure everything was secure and would not break. Everything was seamless and under an hour than quoted. Less stress for me, and more time for busy moving schedule. Cost was reasonable and cheaper than other places I had inquired. By far the best moving company in jersey! These guys worked from 8 am until 11 at night In freezing cold weather just to make sure my move was fully completed not to mention I have extremely heavy furniture. The guys are very professional and are ready to help with anything, I was so stressed out about my move and they took all my worries away, totally worth it I was so happy with my move that I came out of pocket an extra $400 in tips for the guys to take care of them the way they took care of me i will be recommending them to anyone I know with future moves ! The thought of packing a house and moving is absolutely a horrible feeling. Mark and his crew at Payless were absolutely amazing! They made it worry free. They were on time, professional, and meticulous in everything that they did. We moved into a temporary rental and half of our belongings were moved to the new house and the other half were packed into two Pods. The movers were great guys, really professional, speedy, and effective. I have nothing but positive things to say for Mark and Nate-- these two guys really know what they're doing. They were about an hour late but called in advance. Once they got there, they really worked hard. The move could not have gone more smoothly, and it's because of them!I was slightly annoyed with the company itself. First, they refused to give an estimate in writing and insisted on being paid cash. Fine... except I'm pretty sure that's because there were many fees that Payless "forgot" to mention to me when I called for the quote. I was not told that televisions HAVE to be wrapped/packed by the movers (for $45) or that there was a fuel surcharge of $15. I paid the entire amount owed, no problem, but there was no good reason why this wasn't disclosed in advance.I also think Payless severely underestimated the time needed for the move-- on purpose, to give me a lower estimate. I was estimated for a 3 hour move. My old house and new house were 30 mins apart (so minimum 30 mins of driving time). So really, 2.5 hours of moving time. Which equates to a little over an hour on both ends. I had a 2 bedroom house but moved all the boxes on my own before the move. I was 100% organized with everything dismantled, wrapped, labeled, and ready to go. The movers commented that they had never seen such an organized house or such a smooth move. They were working HARD and fast without a break and it took 3.5 hours. My boyfriend and I also helped carry/move the entire time. So really, there's absolutely no way it could have taken 3 hours with all the boxes and with only the 2 movers working. That 3 hour estimate was hugely unrealistic. Had we not been super organized and helped-- this would have been a 4+ hour move, easily. Payless is in the business-- they should know that. I think they probably DID... but wanted to come in as the low bid estimate.Overall, I'd use Payless again-- but I'd ask several times about the "fine print" and fees and I'd add time onto their estimate. Great great company and customer service!!!!! I've used this company in 4 moves. Most recently an out of state move. That should say something that I continuously use theirs service. They are reasonably priced, quick, efficient, on time, and etc. They take pride in their work and assuring safe and secure passage and moving of your items and take care of things if any mishaps happen on the spot. The owners are really really nice and accommodating. They make your move easier and less stressful taking one less thing off your plate.Their staff(movers) are very friendly and strong lol. I would recommend them for any move big or small, local or out of state. All my next moves or friends or family moves will be through them. As they say good help is hard to find and when I find it, I stick with them and pay it forward through reviews like these. So I hope I helped in your decision with your move.
