I can’t even begin to say how happy and grateful we are to have booked Patken photography and even more so our photographer Vinnie. He was simply amazing!! He is so personable and made me and my husband feel so comfortable. He send us absolutely gorgeous sneak peek photos less then a week after our wedding and we couldn’t be happier with them. Even before seeing our photos we couldn’t wait to rave about Vinnie because he went above and beyond for me and my husband and our bridal parties the day of our wedding. He was there to help with anything we needed! He was funny, sweet, an amazing photographer and amazing person and I can’t recommend him enough. Not only did he make all the photos painless, he made it fun! If you are on the fence about Patken at all, don’t be! Book them! And pick Vinnie as your photographer!! More...

We had Sabrina as our photographer and she went above and beyond throughout the night. Professional, friendly, considerate and a great sense of humor that kept the shoot super fun. She was early to the venue for the getting ready shots and kept us on schedule while getting all the shots in. We weren’t sure if the weather would hold up as it was raining in the morning but the sun came out and I decided to go for it, and we had what I’m sure were lovely photos by Astoria Park. Since the first time i met the staff at Patkan they have been nothing short of amazing. Initial meeting was so smooth, and meeting with Doug was phenomenal! Not only did he make my husband and i feel comfortable , he was funny and entertaining which is what we were looking for. There was no stiffness in the room. My husband and i were assigned to Vinnie for our photographer and Mike as our videographer , let me tell you i met with vinnie about 28377337 times and e mailed him at 2 am on a regular basis . His poor wife :/ lol vinnie was so responsive and took to everything i said. I sent him every picture i had on Pinterest and he sat with me and my husband and listened to what we wanted. He was so patient and understanding and also funny! Now mike who did our video was amazing he went above and beyond to capture every beautiful moment possible our trailer came to us ASAP, and my husband and i cried our eyes out. Doug and his team are exceptional to work with. I am happy we choose them for they were quite professional but yet relatable. My husband and I got married on December 1st 2018 and one of our most important concerns was finding the perfect photographer as wedding pictures have to be perfect and memorable. We were lucky and blessed to have ended up working with Patken photographers, specifically Vinnie on our wedding day. These are the people you want snapping away on your big day!!!! We were recommended but a family friend and they were right! Doug, the first guy we spoke with really nailed me and my husband as a couple. He sat down with us and helped tailor a photography package that was perfect for us. He took our engagement photos and linked us up Beatrice who super helpful on such a crazy day. I reached out to her previously to the big day to warn her about my crazy family, but she showed up, took charge and nailed everything I asked her for. After being referred by my brother as well as our venue, Patken was the first vendor we booked during our wedding planning process. I was beyond impressed with the brilliant photos taken at my brother’s wedding, I knew they were the best vendor for our wedding planning team. We were given Jarred for our special day and let me tell you he is a GEM! He has a brilliant eye for detail, knows when to keep everyone in line (and he did ten-fold on my wedding day) and he kept me at ease during the whole process. Some photographers get in the way during those major moments, not Patken and especially not Jarred, they know when to get those shots and they are spectacular photos to be had. From the moment I met him before my wedding to the day he arrived at Viana, he was on point with everything. He was also amazed how I got everyone done and ready, out of my room, so he can take those special getting ready photos. We were able to cover all the key points for the day without getting interrupted, which we both loved. He also was able to get a ton of photos of my husband when he arrived at Viana, not many can get those speciality photos, but Jarred got them all. And when we got the venue, he was diligent, prompt and kept everyone in line to get every single shot we wanted done in record time. We were determined to make our cocktail hour and he made it happen. He is a perfect photographer and definitely highly recommended. I haven’t gotten my album yet but I can count on every photo being absolutely perfect. Highly recommend Patken photography and it’s entire team. Patken has been absolutely amazing. When we first booked them we sat with Doug. He listened to what we wanted and set up the perfect package for us. After our instudio shoot, we were matched with Steve for photography and a Michael for videography. I recommend you are clear about your thoughts of the studio session as it is really used to match you to the team that would work best for your style.

Steve was AMAZING. He dealt with all the day of chaos including crazy families, bridal party running behind schedule, and the rainy weather forecast. He was quick yet got the great shots we wanted. I gave him a list of “must have” photos and he got them all! After the wedding, I asked for certain pictures to be photoshopped. He exceeded my expectations. I was blown away with what he was able to do (i.e., open all the bridal parties eyes in a picture when most were closed and fix hairs blowing in the window, get rid of unwanted double chins, and edit out background objects).

Michael did an excellent job as well on both our video and trailer.

When I finally got around to finalize our album, the girl I met with was EXTREMELY helpful and patient to say the very least. She sat with me for over an hour to ensure it was all perfect. She even stayed late! It was nice to see that the excellent service continued well past our wedding day. If you’re planning a wedding/ family photo shoot I 10/10 recommend Patken! More...

My husband and I cannot stop raving about Patken!  It was one of the very first decisions we made while planning our wedding.  After seeing their incredible work displayed at a bridal showcase, and meeting with Doug in person, we knew that this was the team we wanted to capture our special memories on our wedding day.  And we could not have made a better choice!Our July 2018 wedding day photographers were Steve and Dustin, and our videographer was Kenny.  All three were such a pleasure to work with!  Steve as lead photographer was extremely professional and so willing to work with us.  He was more than happy to work with our crazy work schedules and have a phone meeting leading up to the wedding, so we could chat, get to know him, and iron out the details of the day.  Steve and Kenny were with me for the wedding morning (bride's house), and Dustin was with my husband and his groomsmen, until we all came together at the church.  All three made us, our families, and our bridal parties feel so comfortable and at ease.  We all thoroughly enjoyed the photo process, as the Patken team kept us all relaxed and laughing!  Every shot was carefully and thoughtfully captured.  We have received our wedding photos back and are blown away with each and every one.  Our wedding trailer (shot by Kenny) brings us to tears every time.  Steve, Dustin, and Kenny are truly talented and special people to work with.  We cannot speak highly enough about the immense professionalism, courtesy, and respect that the Patken team embodies.We would recommend to any Patken couple that they share any and all details with the Patken team prior to your wedding day!  We shared styles of photos we liked, as well as specific details about our families and bridal parties (i.e. one of our groomsmen, bridesmaids, and two of our flower girls were one family unit - so we shared that with the team and they made sure to get a photo of their family).  They also took all the beautiful detail photos we asked for, while never missing one important moment of the day.  Steve and Dustin really digested and incorporated that background knowledge and awareness of details into each photo they crafted, while still giving it the unique Patken touch that my husband and I fell in love with while wedding planning.  Thank you, Patken, for making our wedding day so wonderful, and allowing us to relive those happy memories forever! I recently gave a 4 star review even though in the beginning i was all 5, because i was truly disappointed with the retouching of some of my pictures. But after making my concerns known, Doug and his team went back to the filtering boards and re did my pictures for me. For all future brides and those craving for your memories to be immortalized, Patken is the team for you.______________Beware this will be a lengthy review Every bride has a million and one concerns when it comes to planning their big day and no one ever wants to make a wrong choice.I was blessed to come around a beautiful soul, my event manager of the reception hall I chose. He sang praises of a photographer that captures the essence of your day and depicts it like a fairy tale.This is how we came across the Patken Photography team.We spoke to Doug Gordon, the owner of this establishmentand met several photographers at the bridal showcases held by our vendor. It was a friendly yet professional ordeal. Which i loved, knowing that our wedding will be a headache and a half as any west indian hindu wedding can be.Patken offers a engagement shoot months prior to your event so you can be comfortable with their team and also the photographers can build a relation with you as their would be no awkward moments of "who the hell are you and no i don't want to swing off a tree". You will also receive a courtesy call from each photographer that is assigned to your event.Brides beware, Patken does not recommend having multiple photographers per event, but it can be added if needed.The best thing about the Patken team is their ability to feel like family. We were assigned Kevin, the indian wedding specialist, and Mike the best videographer out there for our first event.Kevin and Mike showed up hours before the event and as everyone knows this is when there is all hell break loose when it comes to an west indian event. They were able to mingle and become one of our own that made the day go seamless as possible.Vinny was our photographer for our second event at our reception hall and i couldnt have asked for someone better.Vinny was down to earth and a real trooper when it came to being with my mile long wedding dress and my impromptuoutfit change. Or the never ending line of guest photos he had to take. (bored yet?) well those were all the good stuff, now on to my let downs.Patken offers a retouching service with all of their packages to create what they consider the perfect image.When your images are finished editing, Patken emails you an online gallery for each separate day.We were so overjoyed working with this team that in my mind i felt that they can do no wrong.But after seeing my images, the cracks in my "perfect photographers" began to show. My wedding ceremony pictures were a complete let down.What irked me the most was that we were assigned a photographer who specialized in our event type, so there should be no doubts in my mind that their would be images that would make my heart skip a beat.Ha!. I ended up with a lot of images that were overly retouched, which made it look tacky and fake. And I also have random pictures that I wouldn't even care for. I was truly disappointed.My reception day pictures was the only saving grace. These pictures were the reason that i would still consider recommending the Patken Photography Team.Vinny captured some real money maker shots.At this time, I have not seen my wedding albums as of yet. However, I will give an update on that process for those that find this review useful.On that note, I'll sign off by saying even a perfect experiencecan lead to disappointment. When I didn't like certain poses from our engagement session he gracefully accepted my criticisms and changed his poses for the wedding day. Our experience with Patken Photographer for our daughter and new son in law's wedding was nothing short of perfect. The planning was very stressful for us. We volunteered to help our daughter because they are both residents who work incredibly long hours. When it came to picking a photographer and videographer we felt this was an incredibly personal selection. We knew if we picked the wrong person or style, it would have been a disaster and a very long day for all involved. We first met Doug and Bianca at the YWTV Bridal Showcase at The Orlando Convention Center in April. Bianca was so personal and so much fun to be around. She made us feel so at home and wasn't trying to sell us anything. When she introduced us to Doug we knew right away he was different than anyone else we met at the show. He was a New Yawker, lol. He spoke much faster than us Floridians were used to, but was engaging and confident. You could tell he loved his job and it seemed like he wanted to teach us about photography and what made him special. He had my husband laughing the whole time. I was just trying to keep up. He was very nonchalant and not pushy at all which was surprising considering we were at a bridal show. After they explained the collections offered and seeing just how unique the style of photography was compared to anything else at the show, we did something we never do. We made an impulsive decision and booked Patken and Doug on the spot. It was the best decision we made. Our daughter and new husband could not be more blown away with the results from there wedding this past weekend. We actually received a link with all of the retouched images the next day. Never expected that. Doug was so much fun the day of and dealt with some tricky family situations with such professionalism. He made what could have been uncomfortable seem natural. The best! Our venue recommended them and before had a chance to call them, the owner personally called us. We scheduled an appointment and booked on site. We went back about a month later and he personally did our engagement shoot for our save the dates. We saw the pictures within 20 minutes. I cried that’s how gorgeous they are. We picked one for our save the date and one for a printed 8x10. We were assigned Vinnie for the wedding. He was beyond sweet, professional and early! We met with him a week before to go over a couple of things and run through the day. The day of the wedding he made sure he got every shot and took his time but was efficient. He got to Leonard’s ahead of us and took many more pictures! He also has a wonderful personality! He felt like a good friend. Rachel was our photographer and Dan was our videographer for our 8/25/18 wedding. I cannot express how important having a good photographer is. Obviously, you want good pictures - it's what you take with you after your day. What you don't realize while you're planning is how important your photographer is in the running of your day. We were BLESSED to have Rachel running our show for us. She kept everyone on schedule, she made sure we got all the great shots, she took care of everything! I have nothing but great things to say about this team. We first met with Doug who worked with us to get us a package that worked with our wants and needs at a great cost. Doug assigned us to Jarred who we met during out engagement shoot in DUMBO, Brooklyn. After that day, I knew Jarred was the perfect photographer for us. He was so thoughtful about different areas to take the pictures in and the different poses to have. Even in the scorching heat, he did everything to make sure we got some amazing shots. In all honesty, photo and video was the most important thing for me and we expressed that to Jarred from the beginning. He was so understanding and I knew he was going to be great because he made my husband extremely comfortable taking pictures. He made sure to check in with us right before the wedding and go over anything that I had on my mind. I was able to work with Tammi and she did an awesome job on our save the dates! On the day of, Jarred came to my room and right away could tell that the issue about the weather was going to be a big deal for me so he told me that the clouds are actually much better for the pictures than the sun which really calmed my nerves. My husband also had a photographer, Holden, who he loved. He raved about how much fun they had getting shots of the guys getting dressed and at WBM. I could tell Holden had great attention to detail by the way he set up some of his shots like taking a picture of someone’s picture they were taking. Danny, our videographer, was great too! He checked in before the wedding to see if there was anything I was looking for and what the plans were. The one thing I totally forgot to get when we arrived at WBM was a mini video of my mom helping me get my dress on which I would have liked to be a part of the video but honestly there was so much going on and I know I have the pictures. Patken was an absolute pleasure to work with. Doug was amazing working with from day one; he sat down with my mother and I and made us feel very important. He did everything he could to work with us and accommodate all of my bride wants and needs. He shot my engagement shoot and my pictures blew me away. They came out absolutely stunning. I loved everything about them.

My wedding day was perfect. Everyone was on time and an absolute pleasure to work with. Vinnie was my photographer. He was very professional, hardworking, nice and focused. He worked so quickly and did an amazing job working with me. Vinnie sat down with my husband and I a week before the event and made note of everything we requested. We touched base on everything and covered all points. Vinnie was so awesome to work with! I can’t wait to see how my pictures look.

Jarod was my videographer. He was very professional, hardworking and focused. He was very nice and talked me through everything throughout the day. He reached out to me a week prior to my event to tough base and make note of important requests. He made sure to do everything I asked and more. I can’t wait to see my video.

I had an amazing experience with Patken Photographer. The entire team is professional, responsive, easy to work with, friendly, and incredibly talented! Jarred (photographer) and John (videographer) were my favorite of ALL the vendors/companies I hired for my wedding. They worked SO hard all afternoon and night; I didn’t have to worry at all about what types of pictures were being taken or if everything was getting "done." They are true professionals - they knew every spot to take pictures/video at my venue, every pose, every shot, every angle. Doug Gordon is a phenomenally talented photographer and, an absolute delight to work with. Doug's impeccable style is somewhat a hybrid between sexy, (but tasteful) and romantic which is classic. From the first time my Fiancé and I met with Doug, to our engagement shoot, and beyond, we took comfort in knowing that we could rely on Doug to capture our personalities and relationship, and that peace of mind is priceless. At our engagement shoot, Doug was always there making sure we were comfortable with every stage of the process. As a well seasoned Photographer, Doug went over and beyond three weeks prior to our shoot, notifying us of a potentially double booking of our outdoor engagement shoot which could of potentially jeopardize the look and feel of the day/photos. In the end, with his experience and being the venue's (e.g. Old Westbury Gardens) preferred Photographer's; we was able to be the one scheduled session for that day!! I had Sabrina as my photographer and I absolutely loved her. She was very thorough and knew exactly what she needed from us. She's very tough, but when necessary, and I love that about her. She was able to get shots done quickly and efficiently. She was a great addition to our wedding day and I couldn't have asked for a better photographer.
