My wife and I signed up about a year ago at Passion for Fitness in Phoenixville. Joe and his team are all oriented towards form, function, and safety. You will not be throwing around weights just because it is the current trend in fitness. Every exercise has a purpose. If you have restrictions from previous injuries or weaker muscle groups, the trainers can provide alternative exercises that are safe and effective. It is also a great place to gain whole body strength by working on the lats and glutes. It is crazy how much stronger I feel from working on those two muscle groups. Also, just because they are safety oriented programs does not mean you will not sweat! It is just like anything else in life, you get out of it what you put in. Passion For Fitness has been great for me! Joe, Caitlin, Beth and Glenn make a huge difference in helping you to exercise the right way without injuring yourself. Joe has been great for coaching, holding me accountable and for helping me to be aware of my calorie intake. I have lost about 8 lbs already. I have always worked out & running has been my go to, but I developed a piriformis injury that hung around for almost 2 years. I also developed a shoulder injury from doing Bodypump. Once I started working out at Passion For Fitness for only 4 months, my piriformis injury has gone away & my shoulder injury is almost completely better. The honking classes have been great as well! I do a combination of personal training, honking classes, group classes and the running club. There are many options so that you can fit it in if you have a busy schedule. I LOVE this place. If you're looking to make a real lifestyle change, this is the place to come. They work with you on so many levels; from nutrition to building workouts, to encouraging you to keep up the motivation. The small group classes allow for you to feel like your part of a community of people working towards fitness. You don’t have to be in a regular to keep up, and there is always an instructor there if you’re a beginner or have questions because they want to make sure you're effectively working out. As my time in the 30’s comes to an end and 40 is right around the corner, I recognized the critical need to pay closer attention to my health now more than ever. With a history of heart disease in my family and cholesterol levels slightly above where they should be despite being in average shape, it was time to make a concentrated investment in my health. Sitting out one evening in Eagleview Town Center, a friend mentioned Passion for Fitness and the incredible results he had achieved by working with the experienced and knowledgeable trainers at PFF. I delayed the decision for a few months, but recently took that step forward to a healthier lifestyle. Understanding that the physical component is only one aspect of a well- balanced lifestyle, I began adjusting my nutrition and consulted with a cardiologist solely based upon my family history. In my first 7 weeks, I dropped just under 8 pounds. Participation with both personal training sessions coupled with the available classes, has made me realize this journey is taking me down a much better path. Our health often times is pushed to the back burner with a lack of time being the primary reason. My time at PFF is now part of my routine because I have made it a priority. I’ve struggled with my weight loss for years. I was able to lose a lot of weight on my own with just diet and exercise. However, once the scale stop moving, I started to get discouraged. Every day I would pass by Passion for Fittness. I figured maybe it’s time to try something different. The staff at Passion for Fittness want each and every one of their clients to be successful. On our first meeting, we set up a work out plan and I even signed up to receive a metabolic test, to see if I’m taking in enough calories to support my fitness goals. Small group classes, personal training, and even a cardio class called “honking” (basically bikes without seats), turned out to be exactly what I needed. Within the first few weeks, the scale moved. Finally! After six months in the program, I drop 30 pounds. I’m getting closer to my weight loss goal. I’m thankful to have found Passion for Fitness and the many dedicated members/ clients that help support and push me to reach my goals. More...

Why did I join Passion for Fitness? A couple reasons, first off, the owner Joe is a neighbor of mine in Eagleview and we were talking about what gym I belong too and at the time I had stopped my membership at another gym due to the intensity of the bootcamp and overall program for someone over 50 with knee and low back issues. Joe talked to me for 30 minutes about the back, how it works and how we prone to injury the back is if we don't learn to workout correctly. I joined and saw and felt immediate benefits. Then it happened, I was traveling for work, 8 weeks on the road, three to four days a week at least, not good for the back. I ended up in the ER 2x within a month for 10/10 pain in my low back. I herniated one or two Lumbar discs. Ouch! Joe had me come in two times a week to learn how to help heal the herniation and begin to "load" correctly, understand what was happening to my lower back. With knowledge came power and improvement. This is the first time I could see and feel my back healing. After two weeks, multiple sessions and doing my homework/exercises at home, i can now see myself having a healthy back and getting back to the activities I enjoy in life. I live in Eagleview, if you do, get to Passion For Fitness, its not a "pop-up" fad gym, its not a "cross fit" model that only promotes over use of muscles and can cause injury, but a method of healing and gaining strength, core, and confidence! The staff is engaging, passionate and extremely well knowledgeable on all aspects of being healthy from workouts to nutrition, they have you covered! Phew....I have a new, old back and thrilled! I was looking for help to regain mobility to improve performance in a variety of sports after suffering many injuries. In 2 months, i have already achieved measurable performance gains. The training staff is respectful of the issues associated with injuries. The training is laid out as a journey ensuring the motions are done correctly and then gradually loaded with weights. Joe's knowledge of how the body works and how it compensates for injuries/lack of flexibility is second to none. This has been exactly what i needed and recommend it to any athlete with nagging injuries or flexibility issues that wants to train for performance. In addition, the small group classes are excellent. Joe's "honking" bike is innovative and effective. Its cool to be at a place on the cutting edge of fitness, both technology and methodology. PFF is my happy place. I've never had a consistent work out schedule before I met Joe Ransom and his employees. I look forward to every workout and they keep it exciting and always changing. I am in better shape now than in my 20's.
Passion for Fitness is more than exercising for me. They have become part of my life. They stand by you as you travel the ups and downs in life. Along with that comes comfort food and bad decisions. They help you make better decisions for your life.
The new Honking classes have changed me! My whole body has changed. It is cardio and toning all in 1. I burn 600-700 calories in one class.

I have been attending Passion for Fitness for over 7 months. I started with personal training then small group training. I've tried getting into shape by myself several times over the years but never stuck with it. Going to training helps keep me accountable and motivated. In small group training I lift weights, and do body weight exercises. My trainer is always reminding me to use good form and pushing me to try harder. They have dumbbells, kettle bells, bikes and TRXs so I can do a variety of exercises. The trainers there, worked with me to adjust exercises to my ability. I've gotten stronger, improve my posture and overall health. More...

I have been working out now since May and I feel amazing. I have Hashimoto's Disease and needed to lose 34 lbs. I'm happy to say that I'm now down 14 lbs and I'm in a pant size that I never thought I'd see again. I have struggled with this disease and my weight for 12 years now. The weight would go up and down and would always get stuck at a certain point even though I was following a good food plan, walking every day and hiking on the weekends. I had given up and resigned myself to the fact that I would always be obese. I bought the Groupon for the 3 personal trainings and then signed on for Group Training only. Your trainers are wonderful, I've worked with Katie, Kristen and Tim, with Tim being the most often seen. They are all wonderful trainers as well as goodhearted kind people. This gym has been a Godsend to me. For the first time since I was diagnosed with this disease, I feel that I will reach my goal weight. Passion for Fitness is not your average chain fitness studio. They specialize in personal training and small classes. So far I can only review the personal training part of it.It starts slow with assessments according to FMS (Function Movement System). This helps avoid injuries and picking the right exercises for you. Due to the assessments I felt slightly underwhelmed at first. I couldn't wait to get started working out hard. But it got hard really quick after the assessment. They really know how to push you to the max of your current ability without pushing you too hard.Joe, the owner, makes your personal well-being, giving you the right program, avoiding injuries and achieving weight-loss goals his personal mission.On my part, I am looking forward to every session.Overall, I highly recommend checking them out. I joined passion for fitness in January 2017. From my 1st interaction over the phone to today (I am still a member) I have had nothing but positive experiences with Passion For Fitness and their employees. After my first interaction over the phone I had a one on one where the owner had a formal interview set up to better understand my physical health and goals. Additionally, I was informed of the techniques that they use, scheduling and all of the support tools that were include in the cost as well as upgrades (i.e. group classes, meal plans, etc.).

I have to say classes started off a bit SLOW. My first few classes, I learned how to get up and down from the floor, stretching techniques, warm up techniques, proper squat formation (which I thought I already knew how to do. Emphasis on thought), how to lift weights properly and use various equipment available in the gym. Initially I wasn’t impressed; I honestly thought I was going to go in and get right to it and lose weight with the snap of my finger (totally not reality). Nevertheless, I stuck in because I was informed early on that I had to go through these step. I even had some “nay sayers” tell me I should get a refund. However, I stuck in; and I am glad I did. At the time, I really took for granted setting the foundation; which is learning how to take care of myself physically (using proper techniques and ques) during sessions as well as when I am working out by myself. All of this has help me stay healthy and without injury.

I have interacted with three of the trainers employed with Passion For Fitness and have had a pleasant experience with all. Each trainer that I have worked with is knowledgeable, encouraging, nonjudgmental, and good at articulating ques so that I am getting the best out of the workout. When I came to Passion for Fitness I weighed in about 159+ and I recently weighted in at 141. It was a journey, as I went up and down in weight, but I am so happy with the results. More importantly, along the way I was able to learn a lot about my nutrition and exercise techniques. Recently, I went on vacation and received a lot of compliments on the sculpture and the outcome of the work that I put in under the guidance for the trainers at Passion For Fitness. As we all know there is nothing like receiving compliments/recognition for after all of the hard work that you put in. Such compliments are validation and motivation for me to continue on my journey.

I have been over weight most of my life. I have lost and gained the same 95-100 over and over. 2 years ago I injured my back which left me out of work for over a month. It was the worse pain I have ever experienced. I return to my life but not any sort of exercise. To be perfectly honest, I was frightened I would re-injure myself. That said, I knew I needed to do something. It was very important to me to find a personal trainer that would understand my concerns, who had a good knowledge of body mechanics. Physical Therapy, though very helpful, didn't provide the push I needed to increase my overall strength and loose weight. I chose Passion for Fitness after meeting Joe Ransom. He listened to my fears, understood my lifelong struggle and never made me feel uncomfortable. He designed a program I could easily incorporate into my busy life. I work with trainers Steve, Tim mostly and they are wonderful. I hate working out. I really do! They make it fun and apply just the right amount of push and encouragement I need. I have been training at Passion for Fitness for over a year now and have been extremely pleased with my results so far. From a noticeable increase in strength lifting weights, I have also noticed other positive benefits from my workouts as well like higher energy levels and improved posture. My reason for training is to gain muscle strength and Joe and his knowledgeable staff work with my personal goals to construct a workout that strengthens problem areas of the body, meets my desired level of intensity, and ultimately allows for the growth in fitness that I am looking for. After dealing with a 6 month illness and subsequent weight gain I decided I needed to do something different and get some help and get in shape. I was very skeptical of the trainer routine but thought I would investigate and see if it could work for me. From the minute I spoke with Joe on the phone I knew that I had found someone different who could make the difference in my physical well being I was looking for. Joe is unbelievably focused on you as a client from the very first moment. At my first appointment he had me walk and assessed that I had weakness on my left side I knew nothing about. Then he went about assessing every aspect of my physical condition and teaching me specific exercises tailored to me and what I needed and would deal with each weakness. Each subsequent meeting has been an experience. He constantly reassesses my condition, letting me progress to another level when appropriate and modifying what we are doing when he finds another weakness to be addressed. This experience is totally different from gong to a gym and working on machines in a routine. Joe's approach is to address every part of the foundation in your physical well being and to build the foundation strong and then to progress from there. Joe is fanatical about what he does and in making a huge difference in your life. He finds issues to address you have no idea exist and when you follow his instructions you gain flexibility you didn't realize you lost and feel better than you imagined you could feel. I was a skeptic but took a chance on Joe to help me. It has turned out to be one of the best decisions I have made in years. Joe is very knowledgeable in the science and explains the rationale for everything he does. He pushes you to do what has to be done and doesn't tolerate slackers so be prepared. The workout is intense and the homework is focused and tailored to you. To help you do your workouts at home properly he videotapes the right way to do what he wants you to do and posts in on You Tube so you can review the exercise at home and do it right every time. Because he tailors your workout to you many of the You Tube posts are just for you. Where else do you get that level of professionalism, caring, and personalization? Working with Joe for the past 3 weeks has had a huge impact on my personal fitness and I can't wait to see what the next 2-3 months brings. If you are serious about your personal fitness and really want to change there is NOBODY better than Joe. If you want to slack off and just go through the motions save yourself a lot of time and just go to a gym.
