What kind of accounting services do you provide?
We are a full service accounting firm. We provide bookkeeping services, payroll services, tax preparation services for Individuals, Partnerships, Corporations ("C" and "S"), Non-Profits and Sole Proprietorship, as well as help our clients with tax planning and strategies.
Why is it so important for businesses to hire a great accountant?
If you hire an accountant, first of all make sure he or she is a Certified Public Accountant. They are subject to strict regulations and compliance when it comes to servicing the clients. An accountant should be able to explain the work he or she will be doing for the client. I have seen too many accountants who are worried about their own welfare rather than the clients welfare. I am okay with that, however, a client comes to an accountant (CPA) because they want a simple answer to a complicated matter. If the accountant can do that, he or she is the person you want in your corner. I am a firm believer in being patient with a client, be respectful to a client but most of all, make sure the client walks out of my office without any reservations.
What do you love most about your job?
I love working with people and making sure their needs are met. The client comes to me for my advice and expertise in the field of accounting and taxes, then that is what they receive from me. I love it when a client walks out of my office with a smile even though there was a huge tax bill due. They know that I have done the best I can do for them and I will always be on their side.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Like everyone else, I started with a public firm but soon realized that being your own boss is the way to go. I wanted to work with clients that respected me and my work. I wanted to see the results of my work in their eyes rather than give my work to someone else and they in turn met the client. Not that I was looking for accolades, but the fruits of my work, which got lost in the politics of the firm.
