Cheeseburger pizza!! OH MY GOSH!! So good! Great atmosphere. Good prices. Close enough to Cal Poly campus and downtown. Close to the freeway on/off ramps.

Went to Gino's by myself. I drive by this place everyday and decided to give it a go after other close eateries were too busy.
The place is super clean, arcade room for kids and kids at heart, some great views for the Northside seating area. The place was almost empty. Discouraged, I went ahead and checked out the large menu above and behind the counter. Lots to choose from. I order the Gino's Special small calzone. BIGGER THAN MY HEAD~!!! It was delicious! The crust was split and perfect with different layers of cheese, delicious and quality Italian sausage, peperoni, fresh onions,bell peppers, and mushrooms! I'm a big eater and I took more than half of it home. OH.... The marinara sauce was absolutely delicious as well. Used it as a side dipping sauce. Perfect combination. I'll definitely be back to try more menu items... Seriously can't wait...

If there was nothing on the pizza but just their bread I could still enjoy it. Top notch quality, I've tried pizza all around Italy and they all fall flat compared to Ginos (pun intended). My favorite pizza in SLO- and a perfect place to take the kids! I love taking the kids, and allowing them to enjoy the updated game room and play air hockey while my husband and I catch up over a glass of rose (great wine list too! ). Best pizza in SLO & we've lived here for 27 years. Here's why:
Crust: never burned and the thick crust is just enough dough for the pizza
Toppings: they never skimp on this! Always a nice even amount of everything
Cheese: not fake or tasteless
Sauce: perfect ratio and not too tomatoey like other places
Salads are fresh and we like ours chopped.
Customer service: amazing- we had a large group that came before the local football game and the owner accommodated us even though they had large party reservations.
*** as long as there is attention to QUALITY of product and they don't skimp on their high standards this will be our GO TO place for pizza and such!

I am in SLO for work at CalPoly a couple times a year and always hit up Gino's for pizza. Granted it is conveniently located to my hotel, but the pizza is really good. Great crust, generous with toppings. I'm an extra sauce, light cheese person. I've never been disappointed. Anti pasta salad is good also-I do like cheese on that! My beer of choice this past week was the Moose Drool. I hear the calzone is very good. I have have to try that next time. Service has always been great, even when they have a full house.
