Went on Noche Buena (Christmas eve) and it was pretty busy. The food took a long time to come but my dish was tasty. Ordered spaghetti cacio e pepe. It was pretty good but portions are rather small. This is a really good restaurant. One of the best in Tampa. This was our second time here and it gets better. The octopus was fresh, not chewy but very tasty. The rigatoni in a jar was great and it was presented well. The cioppino was delicious and they did not skimp on the shrimp or crab. We arrived early and were seated at the bar until they opened the restaurant. We were escorted to our table on time and were waited on immediately. If you're looking for something outside of the ordinary, this is it! The squid ink pasta melts in your mouth, the rigatoni is transcending, amazing with chicken and then you get a bite of pork belly that takes it to the next level. We were excited to try Chef Fabio’s restaurant- and the food, though perhaps a bit on the heavy side for a warm Florida evening, did not disappoint. Unfortunately the service was awful- the hard sell began when we sat down and did not let up, to the point where he (Brad) brought us a dish we did not ask for nor want. His manipulative tactics, particular in targeting the younger members of our party, were contemptible. The only hospitality came from support staff (hostess, runners) who were terrific. My advice? My daughter invited me for brunch at this little Italian place in downtown Tampa. They have outside and inside seating and welcoming decor inside. We sat at a little corner table and we were greeted promptly. Our server explained the brunch menu and also that they make their sauces and pastas in house. I ordered the Shrimp and Grits after our server explained it was Italian style with polenta. The shrimp were large and sweet and the sauce was rich with some spice to it. The food is awesome. I had the lamp shank and it was fall off the bone tender. I also had the octopus appetizer which had a spicy sauce that really elevated the dish. I didn't give it 5 stars for 1 reasons: first it was pricey. $200 for 4 people, 1 drink and 1 appetizers is a bit high. We made a reservation and were seated on time. When we asked to not have a 2-top table (there were just 2 of us), they seated us without a blink in a cute little table in the corner where we could sit side by side. Our waiter, John, was personable and helpful and drinks and the meal came promptly. We had the Frito Misto appetizer -- really good, I could have made a meal of it -- warning, it is big, you need at least 2 people. My husband had the Fruta DiMare - he said the pasta was great, and he's really strict about pasta. I had the Cioppino -- it was yummy-- really recommend it. In short, I will definitely go back. First of all I can not say enough about our server. She was wonderful. The food was perfectly timed. She offered a smile and some insights but was not overbearing. The food was excellent. We shared the smoked mozzarella appetizer. My husband had the lamb shank and said it was quite tender. He is not a fan of gnocchi but said these were delicious in the roquefort sauce. I had the seafood tagliatelle after a few bites I gave up on the pasta and just tried to finish the seafood. The pasta was great but there was sooo much food. Our dinner before a show at The Straz was wonderful at Osteria. Some great wine choices to go with some fantastic dishes. Seafood pasta, beef short ribs and pasta and pizza for the table along with attentive service at a perfect pace made for a great start to our evening.

The food was amazing!!! We started with the Burrata. I then had the Filet and lobster which was cooked perfectly, the potatoes and broccolini were spiced so well. Easy parking if you use the valet service. Accessible garages in the downtown if you don't use the valet. Nice outside eating area, and well laid out interior eating areas as well. Service was really good, with nice recommendations and pairings for dinner choices. Got a couple of pasta dishes that were very generous with the protein, and could have likely used a bit more of the carbs; but overall nothing short of an excellent taste and quality level. More...

The branzino was very good and overflowing with green vegetables and potatoes. The fish which I asked for without the head and tail was cooked with rosemary sprigs and slices of lemon. The potatoes were seasoned beautifully and were among the best potatoes I've tasted. At $40 though, I thought the dish was overpriced. I would have been happy to have fewer vegetables and potatoes and paid a more typical $30-$35 price. The margarita pizza was tasty but very thin. Some folks like their pizza very thin. The limoncello cheesecake was excellent, even exceptional, but the slice was thin, certainly not for sharing---at $10 we felt it was overpriced. It is obvious that management wants to ensure patrons receive a good experience because the manager came by a couple of times to talk to us (and we are not celebrities). We liked that. My wife and I were searching for a new dinner spot. We decided to try Osteria Bar and Kitchen. We started out with a round of specialty cocktails both were very tasty. Next was the food which was delicious. Started with the smoked mozzarella which was great. The bread with the oil is a must addition. The butter lettuce wedge was amazing especially the truffle dressing! I went with the house made pasta dish called Rigatoni in a jar and wife got the Chicken Marsala both exceeded expectations. As a Philadelphian with many really good Italian restaurants available to me, I was taken with the quality of the Italian dinner at Osteria Tampa in Downtown Tampa. The bolognese gravy was what I enjoy in the best Italian restaurants in Philly. And our wait staff was skilled at fun, the pacing was on target, and the wine list accessible. I have personally came to Osteria a few times with friends, I am always blown away by the staff and food. My first time, a girlfriend of mine set up a dinner here for our girl gang to celebrate my pregnancy and other successes happening in our lives. Not only did the owner, yes the OWNER, have the bar manager send over blue colored shots (don’t judge, we like to have a good time.) to reveal the gender of my baby to my girls! I come from a service industry so it’s the littles things that elevate your guests experience. I decided to bring the VP of my company to dine in Thursday evening, she loved it. The food as ALWAYS was amazing. She was blown away. We work in sales, we know good talent. The sever, Britney, I hope I spelled that correctly, up-sold, offered her personal favorites and just all around gave a great guest experience. We, who do the same in our business, really appreciated it! The owner has cultivated a GREAT atmosphere and the food is ridiculously amazing. We will be back with my CEO! Thank you, Osteria! More...
