I want to go back to try more!!! I wish I had taken a picture of my dish!  This night I had Shrimp and grits and it did not disappoint! It was crazy busy and the restaurant had an awesome turn out on the Saturday night for karaoke if you enjoy that but they also have a quiet side if you wish to sit there instead so don't be intimidated.  I'm really excited to go back and try out some of the other things on the menu.  What a gem to find hid away in Southpoint. Came in tonight excited to try their food and they didn’t disappoint. The service was great and our waiter was attentive. However, we have no idea what was going on with the kitchen staff . It took about 40 minutes or so to get our food. The waiter did provide us with house salads since it took so long to get our dinner. I had the seafood pasta and the sauce was amazing. My husband got the salmon pasta and he said the fish was cooked perfectly. There was a hiccup with my order, but the manager did a great job in handling it all. We were sent off with complimentary benignets. They went above and beyond to make up for the time we waited for the food. We will definitely be back to try it again. More...

The food was delicious!!  First time eating Chicken and Waffles and it was perfect.  The chicken was seasoned, moist and fried to perfection.  The RED VELVET (my fave) waffles were not as firm as I like but they were still good.  Our waiter was attentive and the service was great.I will definitely be going back.  There were several other items on the menu I would like to try. We stopped here after a work trip to grab some food to go for the bus ride home and OMG!!! This food is delicious. I ordered the Jambalaya (Very spicy but i love spicy food! The flavor was to die for! Also ordered the starter chicken wings and they were fried and seasoned to perfection! I usually have to tell places to fry my chicken hard but they got it perfect without me mentioning it! We also ordered some beignets and they were nice and warm and so soft! This was our second night in a row eating here.  First night we had fried chicken with red velvet waffle & side salad!  Seafood pasta with Cajun cream sauce! I wished I took a picture!  The food was so delish!  We went back the next night and had the smothered pork shops with onion gravy with dirty rice & Mac & cheese!  Catfish with grits & collard greens.  Appetizer was fried chicken gizzards with spicy aioli!!  We were in heaven with foodgasms!!  I wish I could take this restaurant back to Baltimore with me but will be revisiting when I travel with my fiancé during his work trips! Very good food I got shrimp and grits I loved it and the shrimp were pretty big I liked that the pricing was pretty high for most of the food and I don't think this place is really kid friendly only has one thing in the kids menu so no options for kids other then that I would go back for the food

Took a chance on this place because I mentally associated with a similarly named place downtown. They ARE NOT the same. This place is pretty legit.  As a caveat, it was karaoke night, and that is not my thing, but it added free "entertainment" to our meal. Our waiter, Malon, was on point.  He offered suggestions that were not on our radar and they were great.  He was friendly, and his customer service skills were excellent.  Then came the food.  Even with a wait, a little more than expected, the wait was absolutely worth it.  The spicy shrimp, fried chicken, greens, Mac & cheese, and shrimp & grits were seasoned well and cooked excellently. We wanted to support a black owned restaurant on our trip to Fredericksburg and found this restaurant on Yelp. We had an amazing experience from beginning to end. This seems to be a restaurant frequented by locals and we felt the warm atmosphere as soon as we entered. I had the jambalaya and my boyfriend had the chicken and waffles. Both meals were delicious and the fried chicken was top 2 (...and not 2). The drinks were strong and very affordable. It was also karaoke night and enjoyed watching the performances.
