Ono's Traditional Hawaiian Cuisine

The first time I visited, I was not impressed. The bartender, who took my order, was unwilling to work with me at all to find something I could eat. I ended up leaving and eating at a restaurant across the street. Tonight, our waiter Adam was terrific. He didn't skip a beat when I asked if the poke bowl could be made without fish and mayo. And it was very good. The spicy pickled cucumbers were so yummy. Would've taken a pic, but was so hungry! Next time.  The atmosphere is fun. Pretty loud, especially if there's live music. First time at Ono's and sat on the patio - love the atmosphere and that you can bring dogs in the patio. Food was excellent - loved the musube appetizer and the poke bowl was spectacular with fresh ahi and salmon. I never leave reviews but the food here is great! The portion sizes are large. I especially love the building, dinette sets and ambiance. I had the teriyaki burger. It was simply put phenomenal. The teriyaki sauce was not too strong. It was a perfect balance of sweet and salty. The burger itself was extremely flavorful and cooked perfectly. It had plenty of flavor and was very fresh tasting. I will dare to say it's one of the best burgers I had. So far I've tried the kalua pig, moco loco, and the surf and turf. Everything has been well prepared and extremely tasty! Ono's is fast becoming one of my favorite places to eat, regardless of if it's a traditional eatery or a food truck. Keep up the great work!

I’ve heard & heard & heard about Ono’s & how all their food is so good & it’s so filling. Well I have to add to the list that the burger & fries don’t by these fine folks is hands down one of the BEST burgers I’ve ever eaten! !!!!!! OMG was it good. It’s a smoked patty & not a skimpy little patty either. The slaw on it is just right & it’s topped with a slice of provolone cheese & teriyaki sauce drizzled over it. This review is long over due. I had the pleasure of watching Ono's Traditional Hawaiian Cuisine build from it's infancy, through many of the start-up growing pains.
Through dedication, perseverance, and the willingness to accept observations, and then act upon them; this company has grown exponentially in an extremely short time. My hat is off to Sione and his team on a job well done on providing Shreveport - Bossier City with a new fine casual dining option that is second to none in the area. I plan to visit his truck this weekend when I visit Shreveport. I would highly recommend that everyone give them a try for a unique, quick, and great tasting dining experience. The day we moved to Louisiana, a friend delivered to me a plate of pork katsu from Ono's. I was kind of apprehensive. I mean, I'd never had Hawaiian food and it looked unique enough, but not strange. I love new foods though, so I was all in for an old fashioned try. Man...I was not disappointed. Now I stalk the truck, especially when it's at the Drug Emporium (which happens to be near my house). I need to branch out and try their other food offerings. The Teriyaki burger and Parmesan fries my girls had today were fabulous too (I snuck a bite or two).

The Ono food truck pulled into the Legacy subdivision tonight and it was great!! I was stationed in Hawaii years ago and I was in heaven. The Loco Moco was very tasty. My husband had the Kalua Pork and he was a very happy boy. Nothing on the menu that I wouldn't want on my plate. We have been wanting to try this food truck since first hearing of it. Let me say...we were not disappointed.  Great service and even better food. I had the kalua pork and the owner even threw in some teriyaki chicken.  It was amazing.  The sides were awesome too!  My fiancé had the Katsu pork.  It was some of the best pork tenderloin I've ever tasted.
