I can't say enough wonderful things to say about Thomas and Off Leash K9 Training. Thomas trained our 2 German Shepherds, Tinker and Sig. They were like completely different pups when we got them back. Not only did he have to train the pups but I had to train us as well. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks. He kept us updated every step of the way and even sent pictures and video of what they were working on. When it was our turn to work with him he was a patient as he could be. He even let us know that he is always available should we ever need him later down the road or if we ever had any questions or concerns. I would I recommend letting Thomas train you and your pup! Sent my 7 month old Great Dane to the 2 week in house training and the OLT team did a fantastic job with him. He was not responding to any of the basic commands that we were trying to teach him and with a dog his size, that was a problem. Now I am continuing the training that OLT instilled in him and he is like a new dog. I'm very happy with their performance and will be asking them to continue training "Sarge" to become a mobility service dog for me when he turns 1 year old More...

We had our pup trained here and we are getting another trained here this week. The outcome of the training and the fact that you have so many options to choose from is great. We love how our pup did through training and how he is doing since it's been completed. The Prices are reasonable and you get out what you put in through doing your part as well. The trainers teach you how to stay on top of the training as well. Love this place! More...

I have a rescue dog that was dog aggressive and she would not follow even the simplest of commands. I turned her over to Jake in Peachtree City, GA desperate to give our dog some manners. She spent two weeks in intensive training working on commands and getting comfortable being around other dogs. Jake would send me daily videos of Faith’s progress. Had I not seen the proof I would not have believed it possible. She followed commands and was able to heel with distractions on walks on the city’s golf cart paths. Jake was even able to drop her leash and she would remain calm and seated. Before training she would have been gone in a flash. She is also a “runner.”When I picked her up, I was instructed on how to continue the training and I left with a decidedly different tempered dog. Jake made sure I knew that without continuing her training at home she could revert, so we continue to practice. It is not as complicated as it was when I tried to go it alone with training. Faith and I both now have the tools to make this work. We are now on day 4. She will still try to get her way periodically but I know what to do and so does she. I am very pleased with the attention and training Faith received from Off Leash K9 Training. I highly recommend the two week intensive training if you have a stubborn dog or if you are like me, not much of a disciplinarian when implementing dog training. It can make all the difference. One other thing. I believe it changed Faith’s personality in some ways. She seems friendlier and happier. Maybe she has confidence that she never had before. More...

Where do I even begin - this was the best investment I've made in a very long time. Mike Trimble was my Great Dane puppy's (Wrigley) trainer and he was absolutely amazing. Not only was he a great trainer for Wrigley, he was an amazing teacher for me. Made me a better dog owner! They are not kidding when they say after one lesson you’ll notice a chance. Wrigley went from a puppy that had a severe case of selective listening to a pup that was attentive, confident, and well behaved. Do yourself a favor and invest! Oh, and ask for Mike! More...

Best decision I made was sending Ava, my year old female GS to Off Leash K9 Training in Peachtree City Georgia for training with Miranda. The staff are second to none, they are the most caring and dedicated individuals with their clients dogs. Ava was with Miranda for 2 weeks and came back a new dog! I knew she would come back to me an even better dog but I didn't expect her to come back half as good as she did! Not only was her training incredible, she was SO happy, and healthy with no want to leave her "new" family member Miranda. I can't thank the staff and Miranda enough for all they did for Ava. Miranda is still very involved in Ava's life. The training and caring doesn't stop once you pick your dog up from training, they are with you every step of the way good or bad! If you want your dog loved and cared for with impeccable training, send them to OLK9 Training.. you will not be disappointed! More...

We had a very high energy puppy that needed to learn some serious manners and obedience. When we got him back after training, he was amazing! Emily did such a great job with him and the updates we got every night from her were great! It was so fun to see his progress. I feel like there is so much more joy in our home with this puppy now. He’s a new dog for sure! More...

We just completed lesson 6 of 8. Ryan and Kara have met or exceeded our expectations up to this point. On one occasion, we had a miscommunication about lesson start time; so, we missed that one. However, we were contacted by JoAnn who "made things right" by adding an extra session to our lesson package. I look forward to finishing out our current training sessions and possibly signing up for more in the future. More...

Off Leash K9 Training did an amazing job with our Bernaise Mountain puppy. She learned obey verbal commands, come, sit, no, down, heal and place as well as being able to walk her off-leash.She is a delight to be around and other people are always commenting on her good behavior. Our 21 month old boxer was too energetic to walk easily on a leash, and a little too spastic for our kids to enjoy. After the two week board and train program, he is a new dog! I was amazed when I met the trainer at a local big box store, and I could walk my dog around the store on leash with NO PROBLEM. (Before, we would have taken out four displays before being ejected from the store.) He's very attentive to our commands now, easy to walk, and our kids LOVE playing with him. We also really appreciated the ongoing update videos throughout the training process. Money well spent! More...

OLK9 is absolutely wonderful. OLK9 (Peachtree City) our trainer, Miranda, was AMAZING with our puppy and considering her background as a former vet tech we had complete confidence she would properly care for her while in the 2 week board and train program. Even though the price seems costly upfront, longterm with lifetime refreshers and the ecollar included it's WELL worth it. There is no greater feeling of having a well behaved dog. One thing everyone should remember and recognize is that after the board and training program is over, it is the owners responsibility to keep working with your dog everyday! We will soon be sending our new puppy back through this same program. More...

My dog is an 8 year old German Shepard / husky mix with sass to go around. Off Leash K9 Training is an amazing resource for you and your dog! I personally did the board and train program with Mike Trimble. My dog not only loved Mike but also has a foundation of skills for being a well-behaved dog and I can build on this using the commands for future needs. Mike is an amazing communicator, sent me updates every day with photos, emails, videos so I could see the progress. He is even incredibly responsive after the initial training to answer questions I've had. I would recommend them to anyone. More...

We had a wonderful experience with Sam and Dan at the Athens location. Our 5-month old Lab was as excited and energetic as they come, pulled excessively on his leash, bothered our older dog to the point of accidental injury, jumped a LOT, mouthed everything, "back talked" when he didn't want to do something, had major separation issues, we couldn't control him around company, and although he knew a good many commands, he wasn't immediate or consistent with them. We've had dogs all our lives and have always been able to train them ourselves. Not this one! We were close to considering giving him away when we decided to give Off Leash a try as a last resort. I'm so glad we did! Sam was good about sending us pictures and videos every 3 days or so to keep us abreast of his progress. And by graduation day, we had a different dog! One that could heel appropriately, obey commands almost immediately, handle a few distractions, stop mouthing something when told, and not jump or pull my arm out of socket against his leash. In fact, he now behaves better off-leash than he ever did on-leash before! We're still working on a few separation issues (which I know will be resolved soon since they offer free lifetime classes), but I can truly say this experience has given us a sweet, loving, obedient family member instead of a rambunctious dog that we didn't enjoy being around very much. Thank you!! More...

Off Leash K9 was fantastic! We took our 1.5 yr old golden retriever for training after we had had enough with his constant pulling on walks resulting in leash burn every time. He also was not great with "come" and would constantly make us late for work. We decided to buy the Basic package as he was pretty good with everything else and we really just felt these last two things would make a world of difference if they were corrected. And boy was that the case!! The trainers at Off Leash K9 are great to work with! We would highly recommend them for your training needs. Our dog is now not only walking next to us on a leash without pulling, but we are able to walk with him in the park off leash as well! He is a new dog!! He also comes every time. We love having the training collar for when we take him to busy restaurants as well. It not only keeps him under control just in case but also gives us peace of mind that he won't take off in an instance. We loved our experience with this company! More...

On and off their leashes, my two pups are extremely receptive to verbal cues now. Thanks to Mike at Off Leash K9 Training I currently have the tools to take my pups almost anywhere. They have more freedoms as dogs and do very well off leash in the woods. In my opinion, the best part of the training were the structured interactions between all dogs. My little 4.5 lb pom was a runner, would not come when called, back away when I would try to pick her up and was starting to get "yappy".  I went to OLK9 in Duluth and after her 2nd session she was consistently coming when called and stopped all the other bad behaviors.  Now I am constantly getting compliments on how well behaved and obedient she is!  My favorite thing is "place" where I can have her on a little cot outside while I am working in the yard and she stays put even when other dogs and people walk by! I had a wonderful experience with Off Leash K9! When I completed training my dog was one years old and super sweet, but full of energy. He barked all the time, jumped on people and tugged so hard on the leash that I could barely walk him by myself. I tried training on my own, and it worked well, but my dog would only listen to me in very controlled environments. When there were distractions or new people around, he would not listen at all. Also my dog loves to be chased, so he would try to run out of my apartment any chance he could. One day he almost got hit by a car after escaping my apartment, so I knew I needed to do something. I was hesitant to use e-collar training because I thought it would hurt him. Mike at off leash showed me how the collar works and I was completely on board. It's not a "shock collar" like I had imagined. After training with Off Leash, my dog listens so well!! It's truly incredible. I can let him off leash anywhere that allows it, and he comes back the second I call him. He also loves training. When I get the collar out to take my dog outside or do training, he gets super excited. At Off leash k9, they taught me how dogs not only need physical exercise, but mental training as well. Also the staff is wonderful! They were always available when I had questions before, during, and after my training. I could not be more pleased with OffLeash K9 and I highly recommend it! More...

We have been extremely pleased with the work Mike has done with our dogs and teaching us as well, and our lives and theirs are much better for it. I can't tell you enough how happy with are with Off Leash K9 and I did the training with Mike at Off Leash He was really Professional and helpful with so many issues. My dog is 8 months old and he is 110 lbs and it was really hard to manage him when I take him out and he used to pull me a lot and he doesn't allow me to eat or watch TV infront of him. But, Mike trained him really good and he also made sure I understood how to continue the training at home and right now my dog was listening to me and does everything we say(sit, down, heel, off, place, come and break) and it was unbelievable and.Mike totally understands the dog behaviour and train him accordingly and he was really helpful both personally and professionally. For example, I don't have a car and I asked Mike to pick my dog and drop him off at my home and he understood my situation and he did that and also my dog doesn't eat pet food well. So, when my dog was at his home for 2 weeks, mike used to boil chicken and feed the dog and he really took good care of him and he used to give daily updates with my dog's behaviour and his health and day by day improvement. After training I took him to Georgia aquarium and it was wonderful experience and he was super good with people and kids and he was very well behaved.Best training experience in my whole time of owning dogs and I highly recommend Mike as a trainer at Off Leash K9. OMG what can I say.Every lesson, it shows more and more that the dog can already do this stuff and it is us the Humans that need the training to get it out of them. It is truly amazing how our trainer Mike Trimble was able to just get a simple command into the pup and, make him really *want* to do the command. The real practice we need to do is our own consistency because the dogs surely can do it.I liked off-leash K9 cause we have a busy life and we could have them come to our house on Saturday morning, and include everyone in the family in the training process. mike brought props for things like ‘place’ but also was easily able to leverage stuff around the house to incorporate in the training. We had to postpone two lessons because our puppy cut his paw in the backyard and was wearing the cone of shame, and this was no problem for Mike, and he just rescheduled.Highly recommend it !!! Short version: Totally worth it. Would recommend 100%. Best thing we ever did for our dog!!!Long version: We came to OLK9 at a very desperate moment in our lives. I will spare you the details, but we needed a training that would be doable, kind towards our dog, and effective. Our dog Nick, as sweet and cuddly as he can be towards humans and his brother Simba, was leash reactive on walks whenever he came across another dog. If the dog was at a short distance or barking at him, he would pull, cry, and would forget we existed. We had resorted to walking him only at times we knew other dogs wouldn’t be out and about, and his “walks” were literally 5-10 minutes long. When we contacted OLK9, JoAnne was so so helpful and reassuring, and helped us figure out what the best action plan would be. They were really accommodating when we asked if one of their trainers could assess Nick’s behavior, and even more accommodating when deciding which type of training we wanted to do. After some back and forth, we opted for the 8-week long Dog Reactive Desensitization program at home, and Mike Trimble was assigned as Nick’s trainer. One of our concerns prior to choosing this training was the method of training, using e-collars. In the past, really out of ignorance, we had put this type of training off because we thought it wasn’t what we wanted for Nick. However, on the very first day, we were completely educated on the subject, we were able to feel the collar stimulation ourselves before it was placed on our dog, and we quickly realized all of our judgements were really unfounded. From the first session, we were able to see how this method really worked for Nick. He was very very receptive towards the approach and his trainer, and we were sold from that very first day. Through this training, we’ve been able to teach him basic obedience and later apply these skills to retrain his behavior when approaching other dogs. Each session built on the previous one. Now that the training is over, we can say this is the best decision we ever made for our Nick. Every single cent was worth it. Every single minute spent working with him was worth it. We want to make it very clear, this is not something that magically happens overnight. You HAVE to put in the work. Everything you’re taught, you must practice with the dog on a daily basis. It takes time, and a lot of dedication, and it’s so so worth it and rewarding at the end, but you HAVE to be willing to do the "homework". Nick is now so much happier and at peace. We love our dog, and we wanted to give him the best life possible. Restricting his time outdoors, was not it. This training has allowed us to take him on the longest walks, without fear of encountering other dogs. We were given the tools to handle situations that would be stressful in the past, in a much more effective way, and it has been really empowering. This training has only enhanced our life’s and Nick’s, and for that we are forever grateful. On another note, we must mention MIKE TRIMBLE was amazing! His instructions were very clear, he was always kind and understanding towards Nick’s behavior, and always approached it with a positive attitude. He was also always available to answer questions! Nick fell in love with him on his first class, and could not contain himself every time he saw him for his sessions. We are pretty sure Nick enjoyed being around Mike more than he enjoyed being around us. Also, really grateful for Mike’s super star fur babies: Obi and Roxy AKA Nick’s gurus. They 100% enhanced his training. If you’ve made it this far, if you think all is lost, and that there’s no hope for your dog’s behavior, please consider contacting OLK9 Georgia. We’ve been there, and we can tell you there is a solution. It is so worth it! They really really care about dogs and your relationship with them, and will help you build a much better communication channel with your fur babies. You won't regret it! More...

I used K9 off leash for my 2 dogs (who had very different training needs) and left feeling 100% satisfied and confident in my dogs growth. My first dog, Woody, is a rescued husky mix. When I adopted him he was kind of crazy..bad on leash..didn’t get along well with other dogs, and hardly listened to my commands in a public setting. After training he listens to me and we are able to do off leash trail walks and even go to dog parks that stay busy with other dogs! A complete 180 turn around! My second dog, Harley, I’ve had since a pup and trained her pretty growing up. so the team catered to my needs and we did more advanced training and fine tuned some of her off leash training. I would 100% recommend this place. I know it can be pricey but it is well worth the money to have a changed dog you can enjoy adventuring with! Thanks for everything!NOTE: my training was completed in the Columbus, GA location More...

We did the basic training with Mike at Off Leash. Mike was very professional & made sure I understood how to continue the training at home. Our pup started at 9 months old and although he knew some commands, we had difficulty getting him to obey the first time & with running off. Since the tranning and with the use of the Ecollar, our pup is doing much better. We will probably go back for more advanced training in the near future. More...

Worth every penny! Our rescue was out of control. I was beginning to become afraid of him and was ready to take him back to the shelter. We signed up for 8 lessons which we didnt need, 4 is plenty. I would of preferred a little more focus on my technique. To really form a bond, I would highly recommend the classes vs the board and train. If you do your part and practice you will get the most for your money. Good luck!

They are not kidding when they say after one lesson. A totally different pup! Wrigley went from a puppy that had a sever case of selective listening to a pup that was attentive, confident, and well behaved. Do yourself a favor and invest! Oh, and ask for Mike! More...

They also fostered and rehabilitated another GSD named Maxi that we adopted and love so much! Highly recommend Off leash K9. We did the dog reactive program and we couldn't have trained our German Shepherd without Ryan at the Augusta, GA location. Our dog went from being uncontrollable and unpredictable, to being able to walk in public, go to the vet without a muzzle, and be overall confident with our dog in any situation. It isn't just the collar that trains the dog (scary as it may seem some dogs really do benefit from the e collar and ours was one of them) but the trainers are knowledgeable and educate you more than most trainers we have had experience with. They give great tips and truly know how to change a dog for the better. Working with off leash k9 gave us the confidence we needed to continue working with our GSD on our own and to feel like we actually have control. The only people that wont benefit from this program are people unwilling to work with their dog after the lesson ends, the real work happens at home when the session is over. We are so proud of our dog now and cant wait to see how he grows and becomes even better. More...

He was very friendly and kept me informed throughout the 2 weeks with email updates along with pictures and videos. I know there will be hiccups along our route back together and she will try and push her daddy cause that’s what fur babies do. But I feel with the foundation that Ryan started we will do fine. There is work to be done after the two weeks though on your side as the owner. I have recommended them to many people and would happily any time! I did not train with the people in Georgia. I did my training in VA. I trained 2 dogs at the same time one heels on my right side the other on the left. We take 2 mile walks everyday and my dogs stay with me always until they are released. We have had all sorts of distractions, tractor trailers, kids, dogs barking at them viciously, red squirrels, chipmunks, birds, deer, groundhogs, geese and they remain on heel. I walk them next to very busy streets. I feel safe knowing they will stay with me and not dash out into traffic. I have been training dogs for a long time and this method really works. My wife and I worked with Greg to train Beau, our 3 year old German Shepherd and highly recommend him and Off Leash K9's approach. When we rescued Beau we knew what we might be getting into with a mature male Shepherd. We had raised our last dog (a Shepherd mix) from a pup and had experience handling a dominant breed. But Beau presented some challenges that we could not handle on our own. We knew nothing of his background, but his behavior led us to believe he had very little interaction with other dogs, or other people for that matter. He was aggressive toward any dog that he encountered, and was very protective of us with anything that would approach us. His size (97 lbs.) and this behavior made it impossible for my wife to control him, or for us to take Beau into public places. Four lessons with Greg and Beau is a different dog -- and now other's can see what we saw from the beginning -- i.e. that Beau is smart, sweet and lovable dog! More...

First and foremost - I worked with several different trainers from Off Leash Atlanta, and without exception, I found them to be passionate professionals who had a genuine interest in making the training experience great for both me and the dog. At each session I was asked if there was anything specific they could help us with, and regardless of whether my answer was related to that week's lesson or not, I was given a clear and honest answer. They provided instant feedback and tips during training that became invaluable over the course of the program. Their fair approach to training - not punitive, not overly reward-based - is balanced, easy to live with, and sensible. They've assembled a team of amazing folks who are dedicated and effective trainers.I trained at the Smyrna facility (Dogma) and their grounds were not only convenient for me and well kept, but their staff was friendly and the location provided some much-needed distraction to train alongside with the comings-and-goings of their clients and kennel noise. Training in a controlled environment but with real world situations close at hand was key to our progress. As to the effectiveness of the training itself - I couldn't be more pleased with the results. My confidence and ability as a handler has increased dramatically. My dog's personality, warmth and love for life hasn't changed a bit. I'm now able to take the dog into unfamiliar situations with little worry and full control. My commands and expectations are clear and the dog is happy to meet them, and she's even excited when the e-collar comes out and rushes to put it on. The staff of Off Leash Atlanta provided us with a solid obedience foundation, a healthy and fair-minded mental approach to training, and the tools I need to continue working with my awesome dog.Off Leash Atlanta has earned my deep appreciation, sincere respect, full support, and my highest recommendation. With the first phone call Missy had put me at ease and answered all of my million (ridiculous) questions. Upon pick up it was apparent how well cared for and how loved she was while in their care. JoAnn and Bryan do miracles! I’ve had 4 German Shepherds prior to my current one. Jax was 10 months old and already 80 lbs when I dropped him off for his 2 week boarding. I have always been able to handle my GSD’s but as I am getting older, and my health is not as good as it used to be, Jax was getting too strong for me. The purpose I got Jax was for him to be my service dog for mobility, but he needs to have his obedience training first. I did some research, read their reviews and OffLeash seemed to stand out above the rest. When I talked to JoAnn, I let her know that I am very picky with the care and feeding of my dogs and would they be able to abide by that. You see, I feed my dogs RAW food and some people can’t handle it. I supplied her with the full 2 weeks food which had to be frozen and rotated to be thawed at the correct time, vitamins and supplements, and favorite toys he liked to play with. She assured me that all my concerns would be followed and not to worry. During his 2 weeks, every other day, we received photos and/or videos plus a updated email of his progress and what they did and any silly things he did etc.... Like the first morning, Jax woke them up at 5:00 am with a loud sqeaky toy....oops. Fast forward 2 weeks, I have a new, well behaved dog. He still likes to test me every now and then, but I apply the training they gave him and myself and it is an immediate correction. He’s still a puppy and they have to have their silly time, Jax has his down pretty good. We both agree his best command he learned is “DOWN”! My boy can be kinda lazy!So would I recommend this company with your beloved family member? HECK YES!! These guys are incredible, always responsive when contacted, explains everything until you are satisfied, and most importantly, treats you dog like it was their very own. I highly recommend them!! After one session he has a whole new demeanor. He obeys commands without having to use the e collar except on an average of once a day. My boyfriend and I bought two puppies a month apart from each other so we definitely had our hands full! We got an American Bully, then we got our Great Dane. We knew we wanted to get them trained and K9 Off Leash had good reviews and the 2 week boarding program definitely appealed to us. We sent them off when the youngest, the Dane, was 5 months old exactly. We were very excited! They each went in a week apart so it was a long 4 weeks! We received videos and pictures every couple of days from Miranda our trainer. She stated she used to be a vet tech and she seemed to be very caring. I have had people tell me they wouldn't want to send their dog off with a stranger for 2 weeks. Miranda was very friendly and never once made me feel like I could not trust her with my dogs. I was very pleased to find out that she was training both of our dogs, at her own home! I am happy they were not kept at a boarding facility and they got to spend a week together! They were extremely depressed when the other one was gone... the bully is definitely very stubborn, he does things very slowly. The Dane gets a little distracted but they are still just babies! I am very impressed with the results, they are more responsive to commands, they sit, lay down, stay, place in one spot, heel, very good boys! It is important to know they are not miracle workers! Your dog is not going to come out like a K9 unit or service dog, it does require work at home as well. I was very happy with my experience, worth every penny. More...

But if there is a barrier, he goes crazy. After just 3 lessons, he is great. We can pass other dogs on the leash without issue and he doesn't flip out in the car anymore when he sees people/dogs/bikes/motorcycles passing by. My review is for John, at the Smyrna location. We just completed our third training session with him, but I feel that we have experienced enough that I can leave an adequate review. We have a 5 year old, rambunctious, energetic, stubborn, never before trained German Shepherd who we really needed to have some manners. Our dog is super sweet, but she really just acts however she would like to-- we are aware that this is solely our faults. We started with OLK9 knowing that not only would our trainer's work be cut out for him, but ours as well. John is amazing and we are so grateful for him. He is working with our dog to instill good habits and manners in her, but also working with us to break our bad habits as well. He has been very clear and concise in letting us know that this will only work if we all (him, our dog, and us) do our parts. We noticed changes and improvements in our GSD after just the first lesson and we have seen progression each week that we work with John. We make sure to listen to what he says and to practice, practice, practice! It will take us a little more time and effort than it may take some others, because we have to correct five years of just plain wrong, but I am confident that OLK9 has given us the tools that we need to live comfortably with a well behaved dog. Overall, very happy with my training experience (two week board and train). My trainer was Brett Lawrence. My dog was very out of control and protective! He would bark/lunge at anyone, any dog, was very anxious and always ready to pounce. I tried standard +R training techniques which were good at teaching behavior in my garage, but add in tiny distractions and the reactivity would begin. Walks were a nightmare. Riding in a car with him would cause him to bark at pedestrians and other drivers (we've had a few almost accidents because of his jumping around the car AND an incident with the parking brake on the freeway). We became trapped in our home and resorted to using a carpet mill to exercise him it was so bad. I tried going to two so-called trainers before that specialized in aversive free training. One refused to work with my dog because he was too reactive, another recommended I euthanize my pup because "he was beyond help." Luckily I refused the hell out of that as I knew he was a sweet dog with a few confidence issues.I saw OffleashK9 online and brought him in for a consultation with Greg. He did not fear my dog at all and could tell he was just fearful/anxious and gave me contact info to setup a board and train with JoAnne. Wait time was about 4 weeks from scheduling to dropping off my dog (probably because they're popular, haha). At the drop off, I handed my dog over to Brett. Of course, my dog snarled and barked, but Brett was able to take control of him in seconds and my dog was in line following him instantly so I knew he was in the hands of the right trainer. After two weeks, I picked up my pup and he was a whole new dog! He was walking by people unthreatened, ignoring barks of dogs. He was able to generalize behaviors with me after about 2 days of practice. Car rides are a DREAM: he'll sit there and enjoy the wind on his face or just curl up in a ball and enjoy the ride. No more bouncing around the car. Went to Silver Comet Trail after two days and he ignores most people, still gets into a "mode" with dogs but the OFF command gets him inline quickly. We both had a great walk whereas before there would be pulling, lunging, and embarrassment. This time, I was complimented on how well behaved my dog was which made me giddy inside, haha.Overall, would do again and recommend them. More...

We chose Off Leash for our 1 year old Husky, Max. He was extremely hyper, liked to jump on people and dart out the door and run around the neighborhood. Thanks to the wonderful trainers, Max had calmed down and more well behaved. He caught on quick at each session. The trainers were great with him. They took their time teaching us and answering any questions! We would definitely recommend them and will return if we ever need too!! Thank you!!! More...

We did the two week board and train for our Vizala Sophie. At first I was hesitant because I didnt want to change her sweet personality. When she came home after the two weeks her personality was exactly the same, but the only difference is now she obeys commands.

For us, the training was so worth it because now she can play in the woods off leash. Her recall is 100% regardless of the distraction, so there are no worries while she's having fun. Also, she no longer jumps on or irritates guests that come to our house. We tell her to place on a bench in our kitchen and she'll stay there until released.

Overall the training was worth every penny and I'd definitely recommend Off Leash K9 Training to anyone.

We signed our two new pups up for the basic and advanced training. One was very active and the other was very timid and scared. With just a few sessions, the active one has learned to listen and behave on command. The other one, timid and scared, has completely come out of her shell and is now capable of being loved on and even gives it in return. She is still scared of some things, but she only slightly hesitates now instead of completely locking herself up and freezing in place. She is so much happier now. We ate so happy with our trainers and what they have shown us to do with our pups. More...

I have always owned a lot of dogs and have the luxury of having them off-leash on my farm. I never, ever thought I would need a trainer. But I rescued two gorgeous, energetic female puppies and quickly realized I had a new situation on my hands. Two, 90 lb, assertive sisters— probably one of the hardest combinations to control. By the end of the second lesson with Shane, I went from being scared to demanding —and getting —obedience. Shane is calm, consistent, supportive, informative, optimistic and patient: everything a dog/owner partnership needs!
My dogs are happier than before— and they were very happy:) They are smarter than I could have ever
Imagined!! THANK YOU Shane. Lynn, Normandie & Bridget. Note: My other dogs actually
seem jealous of the “training” attention I give to these two. The bond you attain with your dog is worth every penny!?

We had such an amazing experience working with Antoine at the Off Leash K9 Training facility in Peachtree City. Our Great Pyrenees mix has always been a lovable family dog, but she also is a big girl and her unchecked 'sass' could make her tough to control on walks and when around other dogs. Antoine was like a dog-whisperer and helped train our furbaby to be more obedient and respect important commands like 'sit' or 'off', even when in exciting situations or with other dogs. He also was phenomenal in teaching US how to be better with GIVING commands - and effectively reinforcing what she'd learned in our one-on-one training sessions. I would HIGHLY recommend Antoine at Off Leash K9 Training in Peachtree City! Our pup is still as lovable and fun-loving as ever, but now she also listens to our commands! :) More...

This place is AMAZING!!!! We thought our dog was untrainable. We had taken him as a puppy, young adult, and adult to several places and we could not get him settled down let alone to respond to a command. We are happy to say that we are actually able to bring our dog out in public now without being totally embarrassed. This group works with your dog one and one and trains specifically to what your dogs personality and temperament is. I highly recommend them! More...

This review will be for Brett Lawrence at the Smyrna location of Off Leash K9 Training Georgia. We have a 14 month old male Australian Cattle Dog that we recently adopted from Atlanta Humane Society. As much as we love him, he was having some behavioral issues and was in need of some training that was beyond what we could do at home. We didn't want to have any issues with future guests due to our dog's behavior so we sought out some help online. After looking at several places, we were really impressed with the before and after videos listed on their website. We decided to schedule an appointment with Brett and even though it seemed pricey at first, we figured it would be worth it if our dog was more behaved. After going through the basic training with Brett and my dog, I have to say it was definitely worth it. The price includes four sessions as well as the e collar that is used to help redirect your dog to your commands. You start with the sit command and eventually get to place, which is a 'stay' command, and then heel. When I saw videos of dogs walking off leash in public places, I though I'd never be able to have my dog do that. But with Brett's help, my dog was able to become calm and actually follow commands, instead of just doing tricks. Now I'm able to trust him on off leash walks and he's so much more well behaved both at home and outside. If you're looking to have some help training your dog, you'll definitely get your money's worth working with Brett. More...

Our training is with the Columbus, GA facility. We love Jeff and Missy! They go above and beyond, always willing to answer immediately with any questions or schedule conflicts. We are training a re-homed American Bulldog who we have known since she was 8 weeks old (she is 4 years old now). She has in the last year showed some increasing jealousy/possessiveness in her last home and now our home, both as multiple dog households. Jeff and Missy are helping us to build her confidence and giving our home a more stress free environment. The key is time and consistency. This has paid off already within our first 3 weeks of training! We were so blessed to have met these trainers from OffLeash Georgia when we did! Highly recommend!

Training in a controlled environment but with real world situations close at hand was key to our progress.Prior to training - when I adopted my dog from the county animal shelter in October '16, she was a wonderful companion indoors but would pull so hard at her lead that she would choke herself on her collar, which led to the purchase of multiple harnesses that helped but offered little control. Being partly Rhodesian, she wanted to run and chase after every noise and movement she saw when out on a walk. Contact with other dogs (and some people) was tense and often loud. Add to that some degree of separation anxiety, and you can see why I chose to seek professional assistance with my new-found friend. The staff of Off Leash Atlanta provided us with a solid obedience foundation, a healthy and fair-minded mental approach to training, and the tools I need to continue working with my awesome dog.I have recently adopted a second dog and begun her training. Using the techniques I learned during training classes with Off Leash Atlanta, she's becoming an obedience all-star in no time! I plan on enrolling her in the Agility course they offer the next time it is available. If you are considering doing obedience training with your animal, do an honest inventory of your time and interest level - no amount of training will fully take hold if you don't put in the work. Strive to find everyday situations for training and keep it fun. It's a great opportunity to deepen your bond with your dog and learn to communicate with them more effectively.Off Leash Atlanta has earned my deep appreciation, sincere respect, full support, and my highest recommendation. They have had such a positive impact on our daily lives, and they can surely help you do the same. More...

I only use a leash now when it's required, and I can take my dog places to play without being worried he'll run off or hurt himself some how. I then sent Cooper to train with Terry for the 2 week board and train package. Holy moly. Money well spent is all I can say. Even though Cooper had a great foundation and knew basic obedience, it's so great knowing I have a dog who I can trust off a leash and listens to me the first time. Brian, Joanne and staff are miracle workers. I have two 7 month old English Bulldogs, Buster n Harley. I researched other training facilities and decided on this one for two specific reasons. One, they are veteran owned, I too am a veteran and I knew we could relate. Two, they made me comfortable with this breed, as bulls are stubborn by nature. The staff was very loving towards my boys and that was important also. The services and lifetime refresher course is exceptional. I was raised with dogs but training was more like training children. Buster n Harley are brothers and they do everything together even if it is wrong. If you discipline one the other will go do the same thing. The jumping on people, or taking a walk became nearly impossible, nothing like two bulls dragging you own the street. Now they are much calmer and they do not jump on people. I say this training facility has taught them their ABC's now we are working to spell words. Buster n Harley are still a work in progress but we would have never made it to this point without Offleash K9 Training. Excellent business! More...

I've had dogs my whole life. We all have that family dog that everyone loves, but still manages to jump up on folks when they get in the house, barks too much, and just runs off if they escape the dog park or the back yard. When my girlfriend and I recently got a new boxer mix puppy, she was new to most of those issues, and refused to let them continue. She looked and looked and called and called, and decided on Off Leash K9 and Bryan. I scoffed, mostly at the idea, and more than a little at the price, but good lord I'm glad I was wrong. These guys turned our loving, rambunctious, moderatly annoying Rye into the picture of obedience. My friends are shocked and usually mention how much better she is. In only 4 classes, they've helped us build a dog to what it should be, a trusting and loving companion, that hangs on your every word, and really seems to enjoy life more. She was hyper and had a ton of energy, but while that energy is there, its metered and under control. She will sit and stay, and lay and place, all the while looking up at us, waiting for the next command. Telling her BREAK to get out of it seems to be the highpoint of her day, and she runs to us happily to get all of our love and attention for being such a good girl. The guys were even patient with us humans, teaching us how to respect, and get the respect from the dogs. Even when we were super worried about the tightness and shocks of the collar, they let us feel it, and explained how it worked, and what to do if the dog reacted badly. Our pet is now a true member of the family, and we actually have other family members requesting that we bring her to functions now. That is simply amazing.Thank you so much for what you've done for us! More...

We can't say enough good things about Off Leash K9 Training.  I had researched several training options, but this is the only one I had a peace with trying.  We have two Boston Terriers that are 5.5 years old.  One of them was aggressive towards other dogs, and it was very stressful to walk him and travel with him.  The training was perfect for him.  The other dogs in the neighborhood that used to push his buttons no longer affect him...he doesn't even acknowledge them.  We go on much longer walks now and life is good.  Bryan is fantastic, and as soon as you meet him, you can see how much he loves dogs.  We were so thrilled with the training and results we got with our first Boston that we signed up his brother as well.  I highly recommend this training for all dogs/puppies.  An obedient puppy is a safe and happy puppy! Like the other reviewers, I cannot say enough great things about our experience with Bryan and Off Leash K9 Training. First, some background: I have a 1.5 year old half Shepherd half Husky. I love my furbaby to death but she was super shy, not confident, prone to running away at any chance she got, stubborn, and too smart for her own good. I chose to do training after she had turned one since so that she could be a little more "mature" when we went to class. I have owned her since she was a baby so she was not a rescue.I couldn't take her on a walk without losing my shoulders/extreme jerking and the times that she got loose, I would spend 1-2 hours trying to get her back on leash to come home. I often took her to the dog park but would waste so much time trying to get her to leave. She was simply uncooperative and disobedient. One day I finally got to a breaking point. We were at the dog park (I live in the city so the park is located at a touch and go part of town and is not lit after dark) and the sun had gone down. All the other dog owners had gone home and I was stuck there in the dusk, feeling like it could become a dangerous situation with a stubborn dog. That was when I decided I had to invest in some training.I looked up several reputable dog trainers in the area. I considered the flat rate as many classes as you need training (about $250 for the package) to the doggie bootcamps (around $2k) that I think Off Leash provides as well. I went with Off Leash's 4 class package (about $600) since it would be one on one attention and I didn't think my fur child had serious behavioral issues but simply needed some obedience. I could not have made a better choice.Bryan employs the use of e/shock collars and initially I was not sure about the e-collar because I thought there were only used for extremely aggressive or "mean" dogs. I really appreciated the fact that Bryan had me feel the sensation that the collar would give off before we even started the training. I had to turn the setting up to 8 before I felt anything in my hand (during our training sessions we rarely even go to 6 on my fur child). It made me realize that it is used to get the dog's attention but it was not painful for her. Anyone who has done physical therapy would have felt something similar on the STiM machine.Bryan is very clear and a good teacher. During class, it is just as much about training the owner and giving us confidence as it is about the dog and giving her confidence. Right away, his comfort level and ability to train my dog was evident. He tells you that practice away from class is important and you get as much out of it as you put into it. I must confess that I did not practice as much as we should but even still, I am amazed at how responsive my dog is. He knew exactly how to address her and answered all the questions I had.Like other reviewers have stated, she has turned a 180. Just this past weekend, I took her on a long walk on a popular trail in Atlanta and she was absolutely amazing on the walk, even with so many distractions (bikes, babies, birds/squirrels/cats, other dogs, and lots of people). She would heel when I needed her close and there was no pulling on the leash as we walked. It is entirely because of Off Leash K9 that I can walk my dog in public without fear or anxiety. It is not a chore for me and both my furchild and I can enjoy our time as intended. She didn't have any behavioral issues at home so I can't really speak to that but all the techniques he teaches can be used indoors or outdoors and she obeys the commands when my brother or small children give them to her.I spent the time writing a really long review because I am so happy with my results and I want people to know and take a chance with Off Leash K9. I truly feel like it was time and money well spent. The price is nothing in comparison to the peace of mind I have and improvement in the quality of the time I can spend with my dog. Thank you Off Leash K9 and Bryan! More...

Brian was a life saver!  We spent a lot of time and serious $$ with other K9 group training classes, which helped somewhat.  I still couldn't get my then year old black lab to stop jumping and to pay attention to me around other dogs and people.  With Brian we saw immediate results.  In total we had 9 lessons and now Samson is an amazing companion with great manners.  He routinely accompanies me in public places and even successfully flew 6 hours in coach with me!  Thank you soooo much Brian! Seriously great training. Our puppy was getting out of hand-his fierce independence and amount of energy made him a flight risk at every turn. Normal training classes were not helping at all. We did 4 class sessions and it is incredible the difference it made. Not only is the dog better behaved, but you as the owner have the tools, training and understanding to continue with the training and reinforce what already has been done. Thank you guys so much-we'll be back soon for advanced off-leash training. More...

Off Leash K9 training is amazing! My dog Trixie was basically well behaved around the house, but if she got out the door she would run. My dog listens to me now. She loves going for walks and I don't have to worry about any other dogs we see along the way. I also don't have to worry about her slipping out when a friend comes to the door. She sits quietly while I open the door. I was also able to schedule the lessons on weekends, which is very convenient for my busy schedule. Thanks Bryan! More...

I highly recommend Off Leash Atlanta. It has made a huge difference in our dog and our relationship with her. We got her from a rescue and while she was very sweet, she didn't listen to us at all and whenever we went outside she was constantly trying to run away. Walking her on a leash wasn't fun and we were very frustrated. I looked at a couple different places for training but they were hesitant because she has some hound in her and they said hounds are hard to train. We went to the free consultation with Off Leash and were very impressed. So, we booked a package. Bryan is very professional and he knows his stuff. He explains things clearly and makes it easy to understand. A big part of training a dog is also teaching the owner(s) how to do things and he does a great job of this. He explains the "dog psychology" behind why you do things and it really helps. He is very knowledgeable and experienced and you can tell that he really loves dogs. Our dog's behavior has done a complete 180 after only 4 lessons. This is not an exaggeration. If you are looking for something that will really work, this is it. More...

Q&A

We love helping people form a better bond with their dog so that life is more enjoyable for everyone! We work with all types of behavioral issues from fear/anxiety, dog aggression and human aggression. We love seeing the transformation in the dog and owners confidence as they work through our program.

Bryan & JoAnne Swihart are the owners and head trainers for the Off Leash K9 Training program in Peachtree City, Smyrna, Duluth, Athens, Columbus, Augusta, and Macon. We moved to the Atlanta area to settle near family after opening successful locations in Charlottesville, Virginia and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Bryan is an Army veteran with multiple deployments; while deployed he was impressed with military working dog’s impeccable obedience training and high level of confidence enabling them to be the most well trained canines in the world. Bryan has a lifelong love of dogs starting with his first dog “Squeak,” who used to sleep under his crib every night. He has owned and trained a wide assortment of dogs ranging from Chihuahuas to Pitbulls; including his current comrades, a Rejected Labradoodle, American Staffordshire Terrier Mix, and the newest addition a German Shepherd Hound Mix. Bryan has a special love for “Bully Breeds” and wants to empower people to showcase what wonderfully loyal and loving dogs they really are. After serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, he can now focus where his passion is. With a degree in business and finance giving him a solid small business foundation, with the precision and passion needed to transform your dog from unruly to obedient, frightened to confident, timid to content.

JoAnne’s passion is transforming fearful and anxious pups into stable confident members of the family! This passion began 5 years ago while fostering an extremely fearful young pup, who soon became a beloved member of the family. Obedience training helped transform the dog from a dog who was terrified of people to a super snuggle bug and constant companion for their 4 year old son. JoAnne has background in business and biological research and left her corporate career to join her husband in running Off Leash K9 Training, Georgia full time 4 years ago.

Bryan and JoAnne are thrilled to bring Off Leash K9 Training to Georgia, specializing in the same obedience training techniques used by the military and law enforcement. This style of training encompasses his core beliefs and philosophy of consistency, fairness, and crystal clear communication that will turn your dog into a well behaved member of society in any situation.

1. A Guarantee: We guarantee that you’ll see a difference in your dog at the end of the first lesson AND we guarantee your dog will be flawlessly obedient if you follow our guidance for 30 minutes of practice between lessons. If you don’t see a difference at the end of the first lesson we’ll buy the collar back from you and refund your money!

2. An Off Leash Future: Our goal is for every dog to know what it’s like to live off leash – free! And for every owner to experience the pride, confidence, and joy of having a dog off leash that is reliably and consistently obedient, under any level of distraction.

3. Hope for dogs of ANY BREED, ANY AGE, and ANY SIZE: We don’t discriminate – if a “trainer” tells you they charge more for certain breeds or do not train certain breeds, they may not be a real “trainer”! Dogs are never too old, too lazy or too stubborn to learn using our methods. We can also help blind and deaf dogs, and dogs with other disabilities overcome them and be confident, obedient pups! Aggression or confidence issues? Call us – those are our specialty!

Helping people enjoy their pups in ways they did not think possible.

This package will teach your pup to understand and respond to the basic commands all pups should know, off leash with distractions. So it is called basic but this package will get your pup farther than most trainers advanced training! Like I always say “Our methods train obedience not tricks, if your dog can not hold and perform the commands under distraction they are just performing tricks.” We will not only train your pup to be a well behaved member of society, we also train you to better understand your pup. Come, Sit, and Extended Sit Break – Your pup will “stay” in the last command until it hears this release word. Down and Extended Down Place and Extended Place – They will sit on a specific location that you point to (chair, park bench, etc) and stay there until released. Heel and Loose Leash Walking- They will walk right beside of you on a leash or off. No more pulling! Off – Command for all unwanted behavior such as jumping, mouthing, counter-surfing, talking back, excessive barking, etc. Additional – As you are working through our obedience, we will also be working on the specific issues you may be facing. *Includes 4 private, 1-hour lessons, 15ft training lead, and Off Leash K9 Training E-collar ($200+ retail value), for $615 (or 3 monthly payments of $205). **Extended sit, down, and place means your dog will REMAIN in the down, sit, or place position until YOU tell them to “break” (release them). ***It is called basic but these 4 lessons will get you farther than most trainers advanced training! ****For dogs under 5 months old please see Puppy Consultation. *****Lessons will be scheduled at least a week apart and be prepared to practice daily for at least 30 minutes.
