I have never been more impressed by a car buying experience than at O'Brien's Honda! Cannot recommend them enough. In my long lifetime we (hubby and I)I have purchased many different cars: a Lexus, a Toyota, a Chevy, Oldsmobile, Cadillac, Lincoln MKZ. So it's saying a lot that O'Brien Honda impressed me from the moment I walked in. The person at reception desk greeted us immediately pointing out the lounge, offering a bottle of water or coke, and the free popcorn!  More importantly they called a "sales consultant and educator" (my phrase) to help us. Terrance Harrell. with his calm demeanor and expert answers to our questions, was our guy! He built a sense of trust with us that has never changed.I KNEW he was giving me TRUTHFUL answers, even if they were NOT always the answers I wanted. Terrance spent a lot of time making sure that I was getting they type of car I wanted and needed.Honda cars are high-quality anyway, so I appreciated even more that he was not hyping but educating.  Even AFTER we committed to buy our car (which I love!), he continued to educate (not sell).  So when I drove the car off the lot, I was happier and even more committed to this purchase, because I knew how to drive it and HOW TO take advantages of the neat features the Honda 2019 Accord offers!!(PS. my two fav are: 1. the heads-up display that even tells me the street I am on!! (look under the compass display).  2)  how the car slowly applies the brakes automatically on the highway, to warn me if I get too close to the car in front of me (and I SET THE DISTANCE!). (ps. I had just totaled my car because I braked to late for the other car).  I was also impressed by Karen Kastronova, the business manager who handled the final paperwork. She is friendly, ethical and caring.Ryan O'Brien happened to be in the office during my last visit and Karen introduced him to me. Have you seen his commercials?  They are attention-getting commercials!  By contrast, Ryan is a modest man. Yes, he is high energy, but rather than taking credit for all his successes, he credits others for his success. That is the mark of a true leader! I am Sold on O'Brien Honda. More...

We just bought our first Honda- a new oddessey van and had the best experience. Mark Brumfield was fantastic to work with from the moment I called to inquire about a van until we picked it up. He was quick, efficient and no nonsense. Hi, I've been doing business at Brad Barker and here's what I've come to expect.On buying a new car: They took the time to explain the vehicle and the key features . I was able to test drive the car with a salesperson and without. I've dealt with Ron Brown, yet everyone seems competent. I've referred a few people to Ron over the years and they have all purchased a car and been pleased with how he handled things.On my most recent purchase, I explained to Ron that I really wanted Michelin tires on the car. He took care of it no fuss, no muss.  Lastly, no games with the pricing.Service Department: This is what keeps me coming back to Pat, Ted, Cindy and the whole crew. I drive about 35,000 miles per year and my car has to run. That's why I get Honda Accords. The service department, whether it's me or just folks passing through town, really make the effort. There were  perhaps two miscues in the 20 years that I've been having them do all the maintenance and each time we partnered together to a fair resolution.  They've gotten each of my Accords to the 250,000 mile mark and after that I gave them away to a family member or friend and they still kept running great. Parts Department: Great advice and guidance. They even won me over from my tire dealer, which I never thought would happen. They were great about researching rebates and other options on my Michelins.-----------------------A  couple of comments on the two negative reviews:  The one person upset because they would not discount a 2014 Honda Odyssey: They replied to your email and simply explained that were not discounting the 2014's until the 2013's were all sold. That's not a crime and certainly not worth a negative review. You also explained that you were communicating over email and yet talked to them. Which is it Also, you explained that you had visited several dealerships looking for a low price, yet the one you didn't visit and sent email too is the one you complain about. Not very fair, is it To the person who said Julie in Service was difficult. If you look up the word 'nice' in the dictionary I wouldn't be surprised if you found a picture of Julie next to it. Contacted yesterday that they had a EX-L available.  Call up the salesperson (Jeff) and  made a reasonable offer as I had done with many other Honda dealers in Chicagoland area.  Previously, all other dealers came back with no deal (and no counter).  Within 20 minutes Jeff called back with a reasonable counteroffer.  Left deposit and make the 130 mile drive.  Dealership was small, but experience was great and very straight forward.  Did not get any push from them to buy any "extras" and the process was smooth.  Had I not had a trade-in could have been in and out in 15 minutes.  Finance person was great to and didn't try to upsale the warranty as I found many other dealers try.  Trade-in quote came in under quote from Carmax (which I felt was low), but dealership was willing to meet me halfway which meant a lot to me.  Great experience, friendly folks, would not hesitate to recommend the dealership and especially the salesperson (Jeff).  Could probably made a better deal for another $500 less or maybe I could have gotten another $500 on the trade-in, but the great service and feeling I left with was worth whatever I could have saved (or made) if I had waited for another dealership.
