This is a cozy, very attractive spot that we've gone to over the last 18 years. Beverage selection is excellent. Food is very good, sometimes a little "over-involved" - lots of ingredients (spices, vegetables, etc. ) so that those preferring simpler dishes have to ask for removal. Last week, our server was less than totally gracious about this; a surprise, as service is normally impeccable. It was also disappointing to learn that they no longer have the short ribs. That delicious meal was a favorite of many, myself included. Instead, I had the beef tips and pasta, a bit lackluster. The beef tips were "sparse," well done (I wasn't asked re preference), even a little tough. At $22ish, we took leftovers home, but not really worth the reheat. Not their best effort. We'll try one more time and hope for a return to former excellence. More...

Nice place with a very homely and local atmosphere. Went there for dinner as I was nearby looking for a place for dinner. Place seems to be popular with groups and family gatherings . Orders a French Onion Soup and Pan Crusted Whitefish. Food is good and the service is great too. More...

Excellent service. I'm too fat, so I am limiting my evening meal to healthy soups. I had a great crab and asparagus soup tonight. Hit the spot and was filling.

Great place to eat! The staff were very friendly and compliant. My burger was very good except the fact that my potato wedges could be cooked a little longer. My desert was AWESOME though! It was a chocolate lava cake with ice cream. The facility is a tad outdated but otherwise this id a great place to eat! More...

Great food and Service!! Flavorful Choices, kinda upscale Greasy spoon dining done right! open kitchen keeps the cooks honest. I absolutly love this place, from the quality food without the hype and the laid back atmosphere. Probably why it's survived in Kalamazoo so long. $$$ More...

Nice neighborhood restaurant. Craft cocktails and nightly specials. My groups had diverse taste and this restaurant accommodated all from sandwiches to creative salads to fine dining. We went for the black cherry pork loin which didn't disappoint. The meat was moist and not over cooked. My sister had a salad with grilled salmon. My brother had the grilled salmon in curry sauce that was quite yummy and the salad with cherries. The other brother had the smoked salmon salad and chicken wings. He loved the smoked salad. We all liked that all Salads were offered in half and whole sizes. We brought home the strawberry rhubarb tart. It was delicious. Three of us had the black cherry mojito. It was good. I would have like to have some cherries in the drink. More...

Always a great meal; a smaller staple menu with fantastic, creative daily specials, where everything is done right; kitchen focuses on fresh and flavorful plates. A favorite date spot for us, as it feels as intimate and welcoming as the old friend it is. More...

Black cherry pork loinThe French onion soup is very flavorful...a must try soup. The Black Cherry Pork Loin dinner was awesome. The pork was very tender; you can practically cut it with your butter knife. Sorry, no room for dessert. More...

Oakwood bistro is our go to for an easy nicer dinner close to home. We always enjoy our food and drinks. We went early on Friday for dinner as it can fill up very quickly. Our kids also like the food, and really the the booths as they have a mirror strip they make faces in. More...

This is not my only review. So it will be quick. One: omg for the giant sized nachos, those are for four people. Two: if you are an adult, buy the bubbler appetizer. Three: ask for makenzie or danielle to serve you. Wonderful girls who are on the ball. 5 star food at 2 star pricing. More...

I've had lunch at least a couple times a year at this restaurant since it first appeared bearing the moniker "Frank & Gordon's" (I think that was in '97). I like the setting, I like the food, and I find the service is generally attentive. This most recent meal was lunch today with my mother and youngest brother, the latter who was visiting from Atlanta. Our mother had a small Caesar Salad, and my brother and I each had the same thing: A Bell's Burger, medium rare, with potato wedges. They had alcohol, I drank coffee. As usual, the food and the service were good. I find the restaurant a perfect place to meet friends or family. More...

This restaurant was very busy but they still able to seat us right away. We had to wait a long time for our drinks and food, but the staff were very friendly. The food was pretty good, but did not seem to match the high prices. I don't know that I would frequent this restaurant, but it was not bad by any means. More...

Had the pleasure of eating here last night and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, the service was great and the food was delicious. Their menu has unique entrees, sandwiches and pizzas. The meal service was relaxing, each course was served with enough time between so you could enjoy each without having the next served before you had finished. My husband had the creme brulee and felt it was the best he has ever had. More...
