Today was our first visit, and we were greeted with a smile. The food was amazing and true. I ordered the Oakwood chopped brisket sandwhich and my husband ordered The Herd which is pulled pork, brisket and sausage. We also tried the potato salad and mac n' cheese. The portion size is enough for two servings. They packed on the meat!!! The sandwich buns were light and airy, but did not fall apart ( thats a plus!!). the food was so delicious I loved it. can't wait to go back again the sausage and pork ribs was excellent and the taste was spot on so was the macaroni and potatoe salad. We stumbled on this place by accident, which makes it that much better of a find. We tried some of every kind of meat and coming from someone Texas raised this was some of the best barbecue I've tasted! The meat was all tender and moist, and I don't even care much for beans or green beans but they were both delicious.

The BBQ is awesome but the line can get long very fast so be prepared to eat fast as well. The sides are out of this world amazing. The service is very good and quick. The beer selection is heavy on the local brews with some domestics to fill out the selection. Overall this is a great place to get some good food if you catch it when it's not busy. More...

The food here is absolutely delicious! My wife and I both had “The Herd” sandwich. It comes with brisket, pulled pork, and sausage. The bun the sandwich comes on is almost as good as the meat itself. We had macaroni and cheese and potatoe salad for our sides. Both were good but I preferred the macaroni and cheese. Will definitely be back to try the other items on the menu. More...

The turkey, brisket and pickles are amazing. We ordered “to go”for lunch yesterday, and the 1st thing I thought of this morning was cold turkey and pickles. The brisket is fall apart, melt in your mouth meat candy.

This is a great local place with great barbecue, local beers and a friendly staff, add to that a music stage and outdoor seating. I’ve enjoyed this place every time I’ve been but there are two areas I hope get better. First is I often want this for dinner but the past few times I called after 5 pm, they are already sold out. Second is being seemingly understaffed during events held there. All in all an affordable place to eat, drink and enjoy with friends and family. More...

I live just down the road from Oakwood and stepped in the door last week for the first time, and have been there 4 times since. The food is delicious! Especially the brisket and turkey. The menu is pretty bare bones, but when the food is good, you don’t need a huge menu. I’m not sure if they are suffering a staff issue or mismanagement, but every single time I have been there, they were out of something I wanted to order. The menu is small, and not one of the times I’ve been there have they had dessert (they have two options, peach cobbler and banana pudding). I asked today (at 12:30) if they had any and the answer was no and they had “been slacking on making desserts”. Every other day we have been there and I asked, I was told to show up at noon - so that was a major disappointment. They didn’t sell out, they just hadn’t made any. We attempted to eat there last night (so I could show my husband how good the food is) and at 5:30 they were already out of brisket, sausage and most of the turkey - which is a significant portion of their menu. I sure hope they can get their act together and pull through, because I know I’m not the only person experiencing these issues, and as a diner it’s irritating. More...
