My wife and I stopped by Nocella's today for lunch, after the Halloween parade... we ordered the grandma pie, because that's my favorite and Nocella's makes it better than everyone else, and we ordered the chicken parmigiana to go, for our son, because that's his favorite. While traveling through the area, my wife and I stumbled across Nocella's in Haddonfield.  I just can't say enough about how great the food and service was.  Our meal could just be one of the best meals we've ever had.  I had the linguini Fra Diavoli and my wife had Eggplant parmigiana. I have to be honest.  I've been craving a good pizza.   Places in the local South Jersey area just dont do it for me.  We googled pizza joints and Nocellas popped up.  I normally like hearing from friends to try spots and not rely on Google searches.  So off to Nocellas we go....Its pizza review timePizza came out hot right from the oven.  Pretty standard looking pizza but you can see the Macaroni Cheese blended in a already cheesy pizza.  This is a cheesy lover kind of pie.  Minimal flop as I am a pizza bender.  Crust was well done just like it supposed to be.  The crust helped keep the grease down and soaked in.  Sauce was homemade with no tang and rich in tomato department.  Overall I'm going with a 7.6 score here.    Thanks Nocellas for delivering on my craving. We ordered from here yesterday and I got the buffalo wings , grandmas' pizza, a lg pepperoni pizza, a salad and the sausage and broccoli rabe dish and finally the banana bread pudding. When we try a new place we try several things so we can get a good feel of their items and decide if we will order from them again. We enjoyed it a lot.  Just reheated the leftover pizza for lunch. If you've never eaten broccoli rabe definitely give it a try it was not bitter at all. We will definitely order from here again. Can't wait to try the Nocella fries and sandwiches!  Also I'm very particular about getting pasta from restaurants but I will definitely give it a try one of these days. More...

Let me start off by saying that I love the food here!! Really great Italian. We don't live very close so we like to eat in and never get takeout. Although the food is excellent, the rest of the experience I just shake my head at. They need to get a bigger place to accommodate people that want to dine in with some atmosphere. It just seems a crime to serve such great food in such a pizza parlor atmosphere. It is packed with people waiting for takeout and delivery people coming in and out. In the winter it's cold because the door is always opening and closing. It's VERY loud and VERY tiny. We went last night, they messed up our reservation so we waited in our car because it's standing room only with all the takeout customers and delivery people AND when we finally get seated and they had DIFFERENT fragrant candles burning at each table. I had a headache by the time I left. Why would I want to go to a restaurant and smell some fake chemical candle smell when I can smell delicious food coming from the kitchen? That truly baffled me. Service was spotty but that's OK because it goes with the atmosphere which is less than stellar to begin with. It's just such a crazy hectic place it's almost impossible to enjoy the delicious food they serve you. I couldn't hear my husband talk because it's so loud. I just wish, wish, wish they would find a better location for people to eat dinner so that they can enjoy the food. Keep that location for takeout since they obviously do an incredible amount of that. It's just almost becoming a turn off because you can't have a nice meal in that location despite how delicious the food is. Very sad because they have a great product but the atmosphere is a sin and a shame. Kind of indirectly ruining a good thing if you ask me. And I miss Angel!!! More...

WHOA.  I was so surprised and impressed with this place. It had been on my list to stop in for a while, and finally got a chance to test it out when I had a houseful of friends who popped in. Before we knew it, it was Saturday night dinner time and we had stupidly made no reservations in town for our group. We called Nocella's and ordered the following:2 chicken parm sandwiches1 short rib sandwich.1 large pizza with mushrooms1 large Cesar saladTotal about $58.  They told us it might take an hour, but it was actually ready in about half an hour and they called us to pick it up. Staff were so nice. While we were there, they offered us some amazing chocolate cake to test out. My brother in law loved it!  They even offered to let us take it home!I only had room in my belly to finish half of my short rib sandwich - holy moley, the best sandwich I've had in a long time!  The long hot peppers added extra flavor and it was super cheesy.  I am for sure ordering it again.  It was huge. And a superior upgrade to a cheesesteak. And it was just as good the next day heated up.All my other guests loved what they ordered and portions were so generous that I was left with lots of leftovers (lucky me).Can't wait to stop in and order more. They have street parking. If you can't find a spot directly out front, you can park on the side street (such as Fowler st). They do eat-in, take-out and delivery. They have about 4 or 5 tables for dining-in (reservations are required on weekends). They utilize GrubHub and ExpressGrub for online ordering and delivery. (You can also order directly via their website)::Pizza - Very good. Not my absolute favorite but I like it (perhaps tied in 1st place w/ Ralph's in Haddon Heights). They do a medium crust. The sauce is not too sweet or too tart. The crust has flavor. It passes the one-handed pizza fold test. Though, not sure if this coincides with the volume of customer orders on any given day, sometimes (when ordering delivery), the pizza is slightly under-cooked (even after requesting an extra crispy crust). The price is very reasonable. They offer 1/2 off large-pizza pricing on Wednesdays (very popular)::Sandwiches - Very good-to-excellent. However, I find that I prefer to eat the sandwich at the restaurant (versus getting it delivered). Reason being, after a hot sandwich is cooked, they will place the sandwich in a cardboard/Styrofoam/insulated foil. The heat/moisture is trapped and often makes the bread soggy by the time the delivery driver arrives. They make good Buffalo Wings but I have received them soggy a few times. :: Entrées -** Brussels Sprouts - Part of the fall menu (wish they served this all the time). The way they prepare it is excellent. It is roasted with pancetta, Pecorino Romano cheese, and seasoned with bread crumbs. ** Broccoli Rabe (Rapini) - very good. Not too tart, nice mix of garlic and olive oil.** Sunday Gravy - very good** Thick-cut Pork Chop or Stuffed Pork chop - very good ** Short Rib Gnocchi - E X C E L L E N T. Pasta is house-made. The Short Rib melts in your mouth. The red wine tomato sauce is so favorable/rich, it clings to the pasta beautifully. By far the best pizza I have ever had. I went the first time and had their spinach pizza. It was so good, I had to come back to try the truffled pizza which was even better. Ate here for first time last night, best pizza I have had in area since Angelo's closed.  Went in to pick up, service was fast and friendly.  We will be back.  Seems like most of the bad reviews are for delivery.  Boggles my mind that people order delivery on a friday or saturday night and are surprised it took too long.  Get in your car and pick it up if you only live 5 minutes away and want it fresh out of the oven! A small, humble pizza joint with incredible Italian food and friendly staff. From the pappardelle to the chicken San Remo to the chicken marsala to the thick cut pork chop. ..absolutely delicious. And you can't forget the cheesesteak eggrolls and Nocella fries! Great for a quick bite or a full-fledged family outing. A lady in the Haddonfield township office recommended this place to me. My wife and me decided to give it a try. Our waitress was named Angel and she was one of the nicest waitresses we ever had. We ordered the lobster bisque soup and after a few spoonful's, we looked at each other and said at the same time "this is the best soup I ever tasted". Ordered here tonight on a whim (referred by former Angelo's fans). We ordered the Roma sandwich, the Philly Style sandwich, and received a Grandma's style pizza (in place of two sandwiches that were not available due to roll limitations). I must say that I was VERY pleasantly surprised with everything we received. Rolls are amazing! Food is better than Angelo's, IMO. Will definitely order again very soon.
