I had a couple of sessions at No Excuse Fitness with Sybil and really liked my workouts here. I have a 24 gym membership but whenever I workout on my own I never really feel sore after my workouts or notice a difference. Sybil helped me put together great workouts that has me sore the next day. I also love how she would check in with me to make sure that the exercises I'm doing are okay since I have a few injuries and lower back pain. She's really sweet and I am glad she was my personal trainer. I would love to continue going here. More...

I can't say enough great things about No Excuse Fitness!  The trainers are all top notch and super nice.  I feel like I get a great workout in just 30 minutes.  I train mostly with Jay and he's one of the best trainers I've ever had.  He takes time to vary the workouts which usually target multiple muscle groups.  He's motivating, fun to train with and takes the time to correct and explain proper form.  They offer group training, are affordable and flexible with your schedule which is so helpful since mine varies from week to week.  Truly no excuses with this gym - you won't be disappointed! I'm a returning customer and today was my first day back in over a year. This was the only thing that helped me lose weight in all my years of trying. At first I was too intimadated to even think about PT cuz you know, they're all fit and stuff lol but all these trainers are so dang nice. And they accommodate and work you out at ur pace. I was first introduced to Casey and I was scared at first cuz he's a fitness model but then I met him and he was just so genuinely nice! Our schedules didn't align so I'm working with Matt right now and he's so awesome and I feel absolutely no judgement. And of course the owner Richard has always been amazing. No Excuse were extremely patient and even enthusiastic about working around my schedule and following up. The workouts were a half hour with a trainer and structured more like boot camp than focused strength training. I was already attending another boot camp gym so these workouts didn't compliment my routine but I also didn't say anything so the fault falls on me. I was satisfied overall. More...

I got through boot camp thanks to No Excuses Fitness. When i decided to join the Navy at the age of 28, i knew that i would need to begin working on undoing the sedimentary lifestyle i was accruing for the better part of a decade. I can honestly and wholeheartedly say, i wouldn't have been able to push through my boot camp training if not for the foundation i built at this place. When i first began at this gym, i was barely able to do 20 pushups consistently, and i couldn't even run a mile and a half straight through, let alone get a good time. In a short time, i was fitter, healthier,  and happier, ready to take on the road ahead. Today i can comfortably manage 60+ pushups, and my 1.5 mile was 12'18" most recently. Nothing to brag about for those in better shape than i was, but a major improvement for me. And i saw plenty of people tap out during our "intensive individual exercises," but i never did. And i owe that only to the work i put in at this gym. Great, honest people. Clean and effective facilities. And the music selection isn't half bad either. Estar en el camp fue una experiencia maravillosa,fue la mejor decisión, lo recomiendo al principio pense q no lo podria hacer pero después me fui acostumbrado y lo logre,los maestros del camp super buenos tienen paciencia y te dicen si lo estas haciendo bien, fueron 6 semanas de mucho trabajo pero vale la pena los resultados. Te dan una guia de alimentacion y aparte me dieron mi tarea la tarea es ir al gym y hacer pesas entonces era ir al camp en la mañana y despues pesas con el entrenador y  si tu sigues paso a paso todo lo q te dicen q hagas vas a tener los resultados,la primer semana es duro pero ya la segunda semana es mas facil y rapido vas mirando el cambio en tu cuerpo,los cuartos son grandes con 10 diferntes estaciones para hacer tus ejercicios también tienes productos q te ayudan para tu alimentación estar en en el camp fue ina maravillosa esperiecia y me quede feliz con los resultados asi q no esperes mas ve y hazlo tu también note arrepentiras,The camp es como una familia todos se motivan para llegar a la misma meta,también esta abierto sabados y domingos es de lunes a viernes tambien hacen eventos para ir a las montañas y eso te vale dos clases cada dia q vas a la clase tienes q poner tu numero y asi llevas el control de cuantos dias llevas son 20 clases para calificar el parqueadero es grande nunca vas a tener problema con eso también venden camisas de camp cuaquier pregunta siempre hay alguien para ayudarte también tienen un tablero donde ponen los resultados asi te das cuenta como va tu proceso es increible los resultados,te pesan al principio y despues en el medio asi te das cuenta de tu proceso a lo ultimo te das cuenta si lo pudiste hacer o no otra de las cosas q mas me gusto es q tiene bien aire cuando estas haciendo tus ejercicios sientes el aire q entra y es gradable, tienes como tomar agua ellos tienen contenedores,me gusta q te ponen hacer ejercicios afuera y sientes la brisa,también nos ponen a correr al rededor,otra de las cosas q mas me gusta es la musica cada entrenador tiene su propio estilo,tienen clases desde las 5 de la mañana asta las 9am asi q puedes ir a cualquier hora asi q no hay escusas estoy segura q puedes ir y lograr tus metas los entrenadores son lo maximo,lo mas dificil es no tanto los ejercicios por que tu cuerpo se acostumbra lo mas dificil para mi fue la comida tienes q comer cada 3 horas 6 veces al dia yo empiezaba desde las 6 de la mañana y otra cosa lol no puedes tomar locor eso también fue duro pero si tienes diciplina lo vas hacer y te vas a sentir tan bien contigo misma el proximo challenge es en 4 de junio no esperes mas ve note arrepentiras . This gym is PERFECT for someone that is wanting to get fit in a good environment and on a budget! The prices here are so adorable compared to all the other gyms in the area. The gym is always clean. The staff is so nice and helpful and always greeting you when you walk in the door. This is 110% worth the money for personal training. Michelle, especially, is AMAZING! She always has great workout plans that make you work hard to get to your goals!! I am so thankful I found this gym! I love coming here and actually like working out. Having a trainer like her who is fun and innovative makes me actually want to come to the gym (and I don't normally like going). 5 stars because the workouts are fantastic and I believe their prices are fair. I got the 5-pack Groupon just to gauge where I'm at athletically. My first training sesh was with Michelle and she was great! We did a circuit-style training with weights and core exercises for about 30 minutes. The trainer I was with for the rest of the sessions was Casey, who was also great. My only criticism is is that the program advertises itself as a 1 hour personal training session when it's really 30 minutes...but I'm not complaining because the prices are reasonable. You do 30 minutes of personal circuit style training then are advised to use either a treadmill or elliptical machine for 30 minutes. I usually did about 15-20 minutes on the machines because I get bored easily ha. I'm also not a big fan of using machines because I already have a treadmill at home (that I don't use) and I go for runs outside. They have complimentary water bottles, juice, and towels for you which is nice. Appointments are easy to make via text or calls. Everyone I've met here is very nice and welcoming. I may return if I can afford the regular prices but for now I will implement what I learned into my workouts when I have a gym membership again or try out another program! The gym is pretty small and hidden but enough for a training location. It's a bit funny that it's right next to Wendy's so after your workout you can relish in the smell of French fries and burgers LOL.Thank you! :) More...

I signed up with No Excuse Fitness and I am So happy that I found them. I moved from LA and I needed to find a trainer to keep me on track I was training out of the Sports Club of LA and I was paying 3 times more than what I will be paying now! ! That means I can train 4 times a week with No Excuse Fitness and pay one third of the cost. I Love the way the gym feels very personal you can tell that everyone there loves training there. I have been going to No Excuse since September 2015 and I have been very happy about making the decision to become a healthier person. Richard, the owner is a great guy and very invested in the success of his clients. He really knows what he's talking about and has been in the business for years! All the trainers are friendly, fun to talk to, and knowledgable. They provide excellent health tips and are all very supportive. Working with David at No Excuse Fitness was a transformative experience.  Although in good shape, I had hit a plateau and had tried everything to get that elusive six-pack including working with other personal trainers.  Immediately, David had me adjust my diet accordingly.  He gave me a precise breakdown of how many calories to eat as well as a food diary to track my progress.  The fat started coming off at once, and with no muscle.  David also devised workouts that taxed my body in new ways.  He is by far the best trainer I've worked with and got me immediate results.  Absolute game-changer. Prior to signing up with No Excuse Fitness, I had never had a personal trainer before. I signed up because I had a goal: I just had a baby, gained some weight, and had to fit into a matron of honor dress for my sister's wedding in 4 months at the time. I was paired up with Maya who was so welcoming and immediately made me feel comfortable. We trained 3x's a week, although sometimes less as life gets busy. But she was really flexible and very understanding of my situation. I lost a total of 16 lbs and still losing today. Dieting can only go so far, especially with little to no exercise. Training with Maya taught me everything that I need to know in order to do it by myself and keep off the weight. I have been working out here for a year and half, and I love coming to this gym. I train with Rigo. He is wonderful and very patient with me. I haven't always been the best client, since I'm always running late. He holds me accountable for it though and also really pushes me to adopt a healthy lifestyle all around, which has been hard since I have the palette of a 12 year old. When I first started working out here, I had the worst posture, including the grad school hump. He has really worked with me in strengthening my core, glutes, and back. Now my posture is so much better, and I've even grown an inch! Rigo also worked with me through a tough 6 months after I ruptured a couple of discs in my spine. Between the physical therapy, soft tissue manipulations, and my workouts my back is stronger than it's ever been. I have also worked out with Maya when Rigo was on vacation, she is a lot of fun and a really good trainer. And she hula-hoops! I trained with Nigel once or twice, he also is very good. The whole staff is friendly and welcoming, the facilities are clean and organized, and it doesn't have that gym rat feel to it. Some days it can be a bit of a sausage fest in there, but most of the time there's an even number of men and women working out and training. It can be hard to find at first, since it's tucked away behind a Wendy's. If you're thinking about starting, do it. That's the first step, and keep in mind we all started somewhere so don't feel like you have to come into the gym an expert on exercise, the trainers here will get you going and don't make you feel bad if you're like me and completely clueless on how the body is supposed to move! Can't say enough good things about this gym. The trainers are all top notch - I had the pleasure of working with Nigel who was absolutely amazing. Nigel is knowledgeable and a great motivator. He knows when to push and when to relax, I would leave each night drenched in sweat and feeling that I really accomplished something.They just expanded into the top floor of the complex, more machines and room to workout. The place is clean and big enough to not feel crowded. You can't beat their price for the quality of services you receive.  Rigo is my personal trainer and kicks my butt every session. I never thought I'd say this but I look forward to whatever workout he has in store for me each session. He knows how to push his clients hard but not over the edge. He has a great attitude and positive energy that is motivating. He also gives you nutritional guidance to follow as part of his program. Rigo is the best trainer I've worked with. I just started two weeks ago with Carter as my trainer and I'm truly loving this place! It all started when I went to get an acai bowl from Banzai Bowl and saw some flyers for a free personal training session. I thought why not? Best decision I ever made! The training is intense with different exercises but my trainer never makes me feel bad for not being in the right form or when I start to struggle. He praises me simply for trying my best and can tell when I'm starting to struggle and then works around that with a different exercise or a lower weight. It's very encouraging and I'm always leaving sweaty and sore! (in a good way). I have to say I've been a lot happier since I've tried this business, maybe it's the endorphins? I have been sedentary for a year since working an office job and have been highly demotivated putting on 20 pounds over the course of a year. I've tried yoga and bootcamp classes and always end up not going because I just don't have that motivation that only comes from the inside. For some reason, No Excuse Fitness makes me feel accountable to myself knowing that I have to put in the work to get results. It's just easier to feel motivated when you have a good personal trainer there for you. Plus, when you feel sore continuously after every workout, you know you're working those muscles! Incredible results!!! I highly recommend this personal training program. I've been going twice per week for about 4 weeks now. I started noticing results within the first two weeks. So far I've lost 5 pounds of fat and gained 6 pounds of muscle. I've tried multiple boot camp and cross-fitness programs and this is so much better because you get one-on-one training and actually learn the proper technique instead of rushing through the boot camp routine. I started training at No Excuse Fitness approximately 4 weeks ago. First, I love the way the program works. You pay for a fixed amount of sessions to use within a 30 day period. That incentivizes you to go to all your sessions and be consistent. Second, I noticed the fat burn off my belly after 3 weeks! I'm petite, so for me, weight is not an indicator of whether I'm getting results. However, I train with a friend and she lost 6 pounds in 2 weeks. She is a bridesmaid in a wedding this weekend and the dress is sliding off her body! Literally, the fat on my body is progressively burning off. Legs are firmer, bum is perkier. We are seriously hooked! Do yourself a favor and sign up so you can start to feel even more amazing about yourself. If you don't want to go at it alone, find a friend! on 3/26/14 I started training with Mia and have seen incredible results in a very short time.  I have managed to shed 46 LBS.  The first 42 where done on my own but hit a wall and decided to take the next step.  I met with Mia and did a complementary workout and decided on a 3 day a week training with her.  After the first three sessions I decided that the energy, level of commitment, and inspiration Mia was giving me would drive me for 6 days a week.  I have been following the nutrition plan and working hard to make my goals.  In the short time with Mia I have shed 26 lbs and am feeling great.  If you are willing to go the distance with Mia the reward can be so much better than you ever dreamed. I chose NEF for its small size, neighborhood location and personal attention.  I have worked out with Nigel since May 2013.  He pushes me harder than I would ever push myself but not so hard I feel wiped out. Through his workouts, food critiques and encouragement, Nigel has reduced my body fat %, increased lean muscle mass, and my overall weight.  I have a way to go to reach my goal, but I know that with Nigel's help I can get there.  The small club environment is like a family - everyone is great!  Never overly crowded.  Shower facilities for those who need to get back to work after their workout.  I would recommend them to anyone needing personal attention. I have been heavier than I want and need to be for health, comfort, and looks for way too long.  I tried different exercise and eating plans but I could never keep it going for enough time to make a significant difference or feel hopeful that I'd reach my goal.  I always tried doing it by myself.  I never thought I'd pay someone to train me because it seemed like a lot of money to spend on a luxury.  After feeling like I tried everything I could on my own and not feeling successful at it, I decided I'd try to reduce the spending I had become accustomed to on eating out and using that money to pay for a personal trainer instead.  I tried two different trainers before meeting Nigel, Richard, and Rigo.  I never worked with male trainers before.  I have to say Nigel is the nicest professional.  He is focused, a gentleman, and keeps me moving, only to catch my breath, get a drink of water, and wipe off my face.  I love that he keeps count for me, sets down a clean towel for my head, and grabs the weights as soon as I'm done with my set. The gym is small but it's not a problem for me.  I'm sharing an hour of training with a family member & I especially like how Nigel has split our hr into 30 minute segments (30 min individual training with Nigel & 30 min of individual cardio).  I'm paying a trainer to work me out.  Doing 30 min of cardio at the gym is great because I don't get to the gym on my own.  I was skeptical that 30 min personal training would not be enough but it is! Thanks a ton to Nigel, Richard, & Rigo for helping me with my fitness goals and helping me believe I can do it this time. More...

It may be small but packs a punch. After many gym memberships that failed to produce results, I finally found a gym that works for me. They only do personal training,  so if your looking to be seen and hang out, this place isnt for you. Rich the owner is super cool and knowledgeable. If your goal is to lose weight, get fit, and live a healthy lifestyle,  here's a great place for you. I have been coming here for the last 4 months and have never felt better. My work schedule is crazy but the best thing is they are willing to work around you and for you which is awesome.  I have had personal trainers that are in it for themselves, these trainers definitely care more about you and your personal goals. I really enjoy working out at a small gym so this place is perfect. I feel very comfortable unlike at a big gym when I feel like people are looking around for a date not working out. I like to get in and out of the gym so having a personal trainer has been helping me to be accountable and focus on my fitness routine. More...

Great team of trainers along with the dog Flex. Richard is extremely knowledgable of several different groups of muscles and pushes you hard to help you achieve your goals. All the trainers at this facility are awesome! They work you hard and are committed to making you reach your goal! I've been coming to No Excuse on and off for about 3 yrs and Richard and team have helped me lose over 30 lbs! I have a number of injuries that restrict my work outs, but they totally modify and work with you to help you get stronger! I have lived in the Newport Beach area my entire life and hired at least 10 personal trainers over the years.  My experience with No Excuses, my trainer, Richard and the facility are by far the best in this area.  I am reluctant to review this because I don't want this place flooded with a bunch of people.  However, as long as I keep my time slot, feel free to check this place out.  All the trainers are knowledgeable, they know how far to push and they get RESULTS!  Richard keeps the routine interesting by presenting a variety of exercises and this alleviates the boredom that usually sets in and stops me from working out.  I always leave my sessions feeling like I accomplished more.  Richard holds us accountable for the way we eat.  The humor is high and these guys are super flexible.  There is privacy and depending on the time of day, no waiting for gym equipment.  Thank You, No Excuses! It's not just about the physical workout here.  Richard teaches me what to eat and how to eat without starving myself or feeling miserable and hungry.  The best thing about this place is that they never give up on you.  My biggest issue is "eating."  I just love food.  Richard helps me eat the things I love by teaching me about portion control AND about what foods I need to ADD to my diet.  Can you believe that?  He tells me to ADD foods.  It doesn't get any better than that.I'm at 10 sessions now and I not only feel so much better, I look so much better too.  My clothes fit looser, my family and friends all see a transformation in me, and I feel better about myself.  I'm really excited to continue watching my body transform and so is my trainer!The price is unbeatable!  That's just a major plus.  The real results is that I'm stronger, have more energy, and look great...if Richard can do that for me in 10 sessions, I can't wait to see what will happen to me in the months to come!Thanks guys!  You guys are awesome!!!  I love that I can get a good workout and also have FUN doing it.  The "boys" (trainers) are like brothers to me and make working out exciting and exhilirating. I've been to other gyms and have worked with other trainers but No Excuse wins, hands down. When you walk into the facility the staff is so upbeat and friendly. I am training with Kai Kelly and she is great! She always gives me a great workout and even though I love to eat I have lost quite a bit of weight with her. Her workouts are intense and she pushes me to my fullest potential. I look forward to working out and getting my butt kicked (never thought I would say it) and walk out of every session closer to my goal. I would seriously recommend this place to anybody.PS. My wife and I started No Excuse Fitness back in 1996 we were the typical fitness nuts that just loved to workout especially me because 2 years prior to meeting my wife in 1992 I was over 330 lbs! When she finally met me in 92 I became obsessed with nutrition and training and I had lost 135 lbs of Body Fat plus added 30 lbs of muscle. At that time in my life you couldn't bribe me to not where a tank top LOL. We met each other at a friends mom and dad's anniversary party we fell instantly in love “yes i know gag” :). Shortly after we started training together and rapidly she started to make me look bad My wife took to fitness like a duck to water. So we decided together right after we were married we wanted to lead a purpose driven life. We decided to sell everything we owned except our car two pillows a blanket two forks 1 knife and moved to Newport Beach to start our personal training business. We have logged over 250,000 personal training sessions we have experience with every type of client Example Celebrities , Professional Athletes , Seniors , Post and Pre natal , young adults , Brides to be , special populations and much much more. We train you for your individual goals not ours and that could be at least a dozen different ways unique to you. Beware of amatuer trainer’s they train their clients one way the way they know how to train! Perfect example if they like to powerlift you will now start powerlifting and that could be the opposite of what you need or want especially if your trying to avoid injuries. Next you could search for a trainer online meet them pay them upfront than one day you walk in the gym that they pay rent too and they are gone plus the gym isn't held liable to pay you back anything since the trainer only pays rent or they don't care about giving you another trainer since the other trainer’s are paying rent they would want to be paid upfront also. If you choose to have them come to your place and they stop showing up what can you do especially if you found them on some classified ads website. What do you do? No Worries with us we have our own private personal training gym no subletting to trainers Plus our 20 year reputation is way more important than a few hundred bucks. All our trainers work together and directly with us we are also in a long term lease so we can't just get up and disappear LOL. There is 9 of us personal training so if one decides to leave your not out of a trainer. Also if you have a diverse schedule your not also stuck building your times around his or hers schedule we can build around your schedule instead.
