I love this place. Instructors are very nice and very informative. I would recommend this place for anyone looking to take an LTC or any other weapons class.

I took the Saturday June 27th class.

Good points - Marshall King was an awesome instructor. Very knowledgeable and had the class roaring with laughter but was serious when he needed to make a string point. He made a possibly monotonous class enjoyable. Lots of good theoretical situations and law was discussed. The pistol range was small but well ventilated, clean and safe. Texas Law Shield signing up same day came with some nice perks.

Bad points - The classroom was a bit cramped, I believe we had about 25 people and we were packed like sardines :). The chairs could have been a bit more comfortable and no coffee in the room :( but there was coffee in an adjacent room available to us. Maybe a few more handouts, quick reference guides would have been nice to hand out to take with us.

I used a Groupon and got in for $39. Even at the regular full price of $60, this place is worth it. Make sure you find a class Marshall teaches, you won't regret it. More...

Ben was great in that he covers real life situations and it is clear he knows his stuff. He will show you an honest and candid approach to the responsibility and commitment that is required in owning and carrying a firearm. I highly recommend the class.

The instructors were badass!! So much information to present in a small amount of time, but somehow they did it and made it easy to remember. I am much more comfortable with Texas Penal Codes and how to stop an aggressor with the info I've learned. Thanks guys � More...

Just took my 101 and LTC class today and was very impressed (not with the front office lady) with Ben and Blake, they were fantastic. Thank you for encouraging me and reminding me to breathe. I was very nervous, but feel so much more confident now with my weapon. My friends had to leave the class early (for a family emergency) and both of the instructors checked with me to make sure they were ok and I honestly felt their compassion. My best friend and I attended the CHL class. As a "newbie" to guns I was nervous and was positive that I was going to fail miserably at the range qualifying portion of the class. We were taken to the range in smaller groups, which was a lot less intimidating and with some positive enforcement and a few deep breaths I nailed that target. The classroom time went by quick with the witty humor of the instructor and the test was multiple choice and only 25 questions, so that also wasn't as bad as I originally anticipated. These guys also offer one on one classes for sharpening your shooting techniques and self defense, so very open to all levels of what you are looking for. Just remember to walk in with an open mind, yes you will hear a few curse words-so if you are easily offended then I recommend sticking with the sewing club, but I walked out with all of the important information and tools to protect myself and loved ones... ;) More...

I came in for the CHL to get more instruction on gun laws and safety and to be able to legally defend myself if I ever found myself in that situation.

The class was a great mix with a little bit of everything. Blake was the instructor and he kept it fun and relaxed but emphasized the seriousness of the possible situations and outcomes and what a responsibility carrying a firearm is.

I was nervous during the firing portion but he gave me some pointers that helped and towards the end of it, I was much more relaxed. He also recommended a few nearby gun ranges where I could get more practice.

I will definitely go back to Texas Handgun Academy for any additional training. More...

I took the LTC class here and Ben the bearded guy was my instructor. I thought the class was great. It was very informative and he was very thorough with the laws and consequences that come along with the carry and use of a weapon. We had a lot of curious people in the class and Ben was prepared to answer all of our questions. Our class ran long because of all the information we received. The range part was very comfortable and Ben made sure we were safe at all times. Don't come to the class if you don't know how to safely shoot a handgun. We had 3 ladies that left halfway through the class because they didn't know how to shoot. Overall good learning experience! I plan to take some more classes here in the future. More...

My wife and I just completed our class and range time for our Ltc our instructor was Blake and he was excellent, he was a mix of funny, no bullshit, sarcastic well prepared and kind all rolled into one, I learned a lot and would recommend to others A++

Outstanding, and my instructor, Heather for the intro to guns was very very good and informative. I am so glad I took that class prior to my LTC class with Blake. Blake was GREAT and what I loved about the way Blake taught was that he made it realistic and used real situations to teach! I just completed my level three Security Officer class, and I highly recommend this school to anyone who want to learn gun safety, shooting, Texas State gun/security laws, or need the qualification for a job. The instructors that I had, Fred, Blake and James, are very knowledgeable, communicate very well, and take the time to ensure their students know the material. Marshall Protective Services have done an excellent job making the properties that I oversee a cleaner and more productive communities. Of course we have had push back from residents that weren't following the rules, but the continuous service that Marshall provided in not just securing our property, but learning who our Residents were and making them feel more secure. As a Marine that has deployed in combat several times I highly recommend this school. The critical thinking skills, laws, and mindset taught here were extremely eye opening and a necessity for the responsibilities of carrying a firearm. The instructor was extremely knowledgeable and kept the class from becoming a "death by powerpoint" or debate.
