Found this quaint fun farm while looking for something to do on a Sunday. We had a great time taking pics with princesses, climbing tractors, petting animals, shopping, riding the train, picking out pumpkins, and so much more. It was a delightful afternoon spent with family. And one of the best things is...it's free! We will visit again next fall. More...

By far this was the best pumpkin patch we've been to.  We came out here to escape Chicago for the weekend and visited Dollinger Family Farm.  The place is super large and totally impressive. When we first arrived, we saw children playing everywhere. They farm has plenty of animals for kids to pet. My 3 year old child was fond of the bunnies and goats. The place has tractor rides that the whole family can enjoy too. If you have toddlers, then take them to the back of the farm. They have hay for the kids to climb, along with play areas.  There is food and trinket shopping on the premises. More...

I went here with my niece and family to enjoy the pumpkin patch offerings at the s Dollinger Family Farm. This was my first visit to a "patch" and I gotta say it was fun. For kids, there's lots to do and see. My niece loved petting the goats and bunnies and watching the roosters. I really liked the colonial costumes some were wearing and the historical lessons. We stayed a good 2-hours to take it all in. It was busy as all get out when we went with all the hayrides full so try to get there early. Put on sunscreen too because everything is outdoors with the exception of the market and snack huts. More...

My mom and I came here years ago so it was fun to return while we were nearby today. It's nice that there's no entry fee, and there's still stuff to do on a weekday though less than the weekend. (Wish there were cider and donuts today, though!) We enjoyed the affordable giftshop, buying some fall decor trinkets and some apple butter and honey, then roamed a bit. There are cool carved wood pieces everywhere to see (bears, owls, pumpkin on a man's head) so those are fun to find. We love the little houses and the "How tall this fall?" yardstick (I have not grown or shrunk since the last time, haha). It's also cool to look across the land at the sea of pumpkins waiting to be bought! The animals are cute but remind me that I am a city girl, haha. It was fairly busy on a Friday afternoon: us, some families with kids and a group of crazy teen girls doing a scavenger hunt.  I can't imagine the crowds on a weekend! Come on down to Channahon before the pumpkins get picked over and have some fall fun at Dollinger. More...

I've been coming here forever, with my children and now grandchildren... It's local and we have a blast every time... Lots of photo ops. .. Inexpensive family time at its best!!!! Love, love, love!!! My only complaint is that they have so much room and the gift shop is so small and always so crowded with adults and a lot of unattended children that you can't really enjoy it....you'd think with the amount of land/space they have, they would find a better location for the gift shop...like when they moved the play houses east of the pumpkins and hay area...that allowed all the children to have way more space...maybe build a larger gift shop and you the existing gift shop building for maybe a kid friendly ( haunted/halloween house) just an idea...I know it all takes money and time...And maybe a little more variety as far as food...pizza 4 you is great but some other options may be nice...but overall its simply fabulous!!! They have a large tepee, a corn bin, hayride, gift shop, and eating area w/ something for everyone. My husband recommends the mini donuts and fudge. His favorite fudge is the pumpkin nut followed closely by the dark chocolate pumpkin cheesecake and honey cashew. They have a large variety of pumpkins and I remember them ranging from $8 to $10. You can use their carts/wagons to to them to your car. I would return when my daughter is a little bit older so she can have some fun petting the animals and playing around. I wasn't sure what to expect at this place, but I was very happily pleased! We went during the week in the morning/afternoon so there really weren't too many people there. My 4 and 2 year olds thoroughly enjoyed all of the MANY play houses and things to explore. Everything we did was free which was awesome. Free corn bin (HUGE), free play area with numerous playhouses, free farm animals to pet and look at, all in a beautiful country setting. There is a nice area with many picnic benches under the trees to bring and eat your lunch, there's also a place to buy and eat food although they were not open when we were there. We loved this place and none of the really fun things (hayride, train ride) were even running at the time. All of the employees were lovely as well. They have portable toilets. I'm not sure how much older kids would like it, but for little kids this is a wonderful place. Parking is free and there is no admission fee. I paid about $10 for 2 small pumpkins and 4 small gourds. A bargain considering the fun filled day we had. We will definitely return. More...
