And another one of the few restaurants out there that have cooking from the heart. Ask the owner what he recommends as he has never steered me wrong. Have never had a bad meal here. I try to call in advance as due to the fact that there is so much love put into the food it can take a while and they are very popular. More...
I love this cafe. The food is amazing, the service is superb. My first visit I had the Lamb curry with the dumplings. I ordered it without comment on spice level and it was good. It brought me back to try more. But on the second visit I ordered Lamb Vindaloo and Lamb Chau Chau. I also ordered both 5 out of 5 on the spicy level. I knew I could get extra rice if needed and I like hot food. My meal was delightful! The two meals were so I could split with my husband because the portion size is good. We both enjoyed the flavorings, the spice level, and the service. My third visit I again ordered the Lamb Curry but this time level 5 on hotness. It was so very good. There is something special about the spices used in these dishes which comes out at a higher spice level which doesn't comeout when they are less spicy. But that said, it takes a while to build up the taste buds to accept a hot, spicy dish, so each to their own. The less spicy version was very good. This is a "Go To" cafe for me. I now hope they can offer some gluten free options as I do have a problem with gluten. More...
Best service weve had in a long time, great food and it was vegetarian too
You definitely gotta go!! I got the lunch special, absolutely delicious. Not only delicious but fairly priced. A perfect place to eat any meal of the day!! I personally love Indian food and I was surprised when I tasted the food as I have eaten at many places serving Indian food and momo's is truly worth coming to. More...
Wow! Don't hesitate, give this place a try! Delicious food!
It was delicious, spicy like I asked for and a little different than most places.
This place has been on my new restaurants list forever and I'm glad I finally went. It's a cute and small hole-in-the-wall esque place. The (I'm assuming manager/owner) greeted me immediately and sat me down and asked if I had been there before. I said no and he explained the menu to me which was nice. After Finding out I didn't eat meat he definitely tried to show me all of the veggie options, It was clear this guy was proud of his restaurant. You're not going to find any entrees under $10 here but the amount of food I got was good And everything I tried was tasty. The only negative I have is that before I got my food I saw a little girl with a runny nose walk out and washed her hands in the sink next to the sodas which kind of made me lose my appetite a bit but I gained it back once I saw the food in front of me. I'll definitely be returning. More...
Best Indian/Nepalese food I've ever eaten! I cannot say enough about the food. I'm not usually much of a curry lover, but the sweet mild Butter Chicken was just perfect for me. My husband said the Vindaloo chicken was delicious & the Nan bread was the best we've ever eaten. When the owner realized we'd never eaten here before, he helped us choose dishes suited to our taste preferences. Highly Recommend!!! More...
Amazing! 10/10 would recommend to anyone I know!! We just got done with lunch there and it was the best lunch I have had in a long time. They owner is extremely nice and gives recommendations based on what you tell him! The food is absolutely phenomenal and authentic making the experience even better!! I could go here everyday and be happy, happy, happy!! More...
Hands down the most delicious Indian food I've ever had! The owner was very helpful in helping us choose dishes according to our taste preference. LOVED THE FOOD AND CAN'T WAIT TO RETURN! More...
Before I ate any of this great food I heard stories from a friend about how the owner of this cafe would go out of his way to make sure no one who couldn’t afford food didn’t leave hungry, on the right days (obviously). I have heard nothing but good things about the man who owns this spot from multiple folx, I’ve had nothing but good food from here. I’m so glad to spend my money here supporting good people. More...
Amazing food and Raj is the best. Highly recommend!
Lovely family-owned business. Delicious momos!
Amazing!!! Delicious food and exceptionally friendly service
I had a fantastic experience here. My coworkers and I placed a rather massive and somewhat impromptu order for lunch. I called in before they were open and was pleased they were available so they could be somewhat prepared.I arrived a few minutes early to find the order was almost completely ready. The server (and I think one of the owners) had already labeled each to-go box with its contents and went through, box by box, to confirm that what I had ordered was present and correct. The food was also fantastic. I personally could have used a bit more spicing but, given where we live, I'm not surprised they toned it down a bit. Overall, a great experience and I'll be back! The food was delicious..I will go back.
This place is amazing. Good food, super friendly, a must try.
Our office has a meeting with a Himalayan theme so we had our lunch catered from here. Raj was very easy to work with, even delivered our food all the way to Meridian! This is amazing food, We all LOVED the veggie sauce with cashews! Would recommend to all who are looking for a different kind of food at a great price! Thank you Raj!! More...
Yet again, I drive by this place often and in the past 6 months I made myself go. While my decision to drive by for 5 years without stopping was a bad one, the decision to stop here (finally) was a really, really good one!Like clock work, right when we walk in we are always greeted by a gentleman (maybe the owner, he is there every time we visit). He is always excited to see us and is prompt with menus, drinks, and to take our order. The thing I really appreciate is his suggestions. He has never been wrong. I also love their combos because you get to try a lot of different things in one meal. I highly suggest doing a combo until you find your favorite and then when you find your favorite, order always! That is my rule-of-thumb. I can tell you everything that I have eaten but you can't really go wrong. I haven't found one thing I did not like. I think it just depends on what you are feeling. Noodles, curry, spicy, savory, sweet, filling, unique. Yes, get it all. I have never been here for dinner. My experiences have always been during lunch. The portions are just right and I often still have food to take home for dinner. Cozy space with pictures of Mount Everest and surrounding areas on the walls. Stop driving by and just go! You can thank me that I just found you your new favorite eatery. See you there! More...
I saw the excellent ratings for this small café, and couldn't wait to try their Momo's. I was the only one there when I entered, was greeted and seated immediately by the smiling and friendly host. The menu was extremely informative, with pictures and suggestions for the first time Himalayan food taster. I decided to try the chicken Momos, the onion kulcha, and the vegetable chau chau. The kind server/host/gentleman (owner?) suggested I try the chicken chau chau instead because it contained the same vegetables plus chicken. The chicken Momos came out very quickly with a side of sauce (which was tomato-based and had the milder sauce poured and with the hotter sauce in its center). The Momos are very much like Chinese dumplings or potstickers and I am used to a different kind of dipping sauce, but the tomato-based spicy sauce was wonderful with these delicious dumplings. The Onion Kulcha (which is naan bread cooked with onion and cilantro in it) was wonderful! And the Chau Chau, soft fried noodles with veggies and meat, were delicious and very filling. The service was fast and friendly and the food was wonderful!I left sated and happy. More...
Food was absolutely outstanding. Service was great and I left totally stuffed. Will definitely be back
I've been to Nepal and have had the best momos I've ever had there. This little restaurant never disappoints and always takes me back to my time in Nepal. So thankful we have a place like this in Boise! More...
Found out about this place because they sell Groupons (highly recommend checking for that because it's a good deal). They have a lunch platter that's $8ish that lets you try a little of everything they serve. Their dumplings are great and their unique Nepalese dish. Do recommend at least trying the yak meat dumplings just for the experience. They were a bit dryer than beef, but with that gamier taste like goat or lamb. Unique and definitely worth a try. The vegetable ones were ok, but I found they were a bit too mushy inside for my tastes. Their curry dishes are amazing. And the Nepalese noodles are my favorite part of the meal, honestly. A different kind of food. Do recommend. More...
I went here, they had a great customer service, and delicious food. I like their menue, it is very clear and easy to order because it has pictures on it. I wish all of the restaurants in town would have had pictures of food on their menues. More...
Great Indian and Nepali food
Absolutely delicious food
The owner (I'm pretty sure) was waiting the tables, recommended amazing food, and was super attentive. It's a simple place which is great, because the focus is on the delicious food. The owner knew about everything he served--when asked about an allergy he knew the answer already. This is the best Indian I've had since I lived on the east coast. The pakora is amazingly delicate, and the momo was really good. The tikka masala was great and the whole experience was awesome. Highly recommend. I'm going to be a regular. ❤️ More...
Food was excellent with plenty of vegan options, and our server (who might have been one of the owners?) had plenty of awesome suggestions for food and appetizers. Wish I had taken pictures but I was starving and the food was so good it disappeared fast. The inside was very clean and fit the Nepalese aesthetic. If you are thinking about trying this place, just go. More...
What a find. Raj (owner) was super nice. It was a slow day and I came in for a late lunch. Suggested the sampler and went out of his way to make me happy.. Food was great. Dumpling sampler, butter chicken and TikiMasala. Ordered to go for my boyfriend. He's trying to make it last and we might need to drive back to get more. More...
I couldn't decide if it was 4 or 5 stars but I went with five. I was considering going with 4 because the decor is a bit drab but in the end it adds to the charm. A true mom and pop shop. The owner always greets you and has great recommendations. The food is so great. Some of the best Indian and Himalayan food in the area. I'm not much of a butter chicken fan but I've never had butter chicken This good. The momos are good as well. More...
It was our first time going and it was so good. The chicken tikka masala made me want to lick the bowl clean. My husband had the chicken chau chau and it was equally as delicious. Be sure to also get a chai tea. It was sweetened to my preference and was the best I've had. The service was friendly, helpful and great. The owner can sense when you have questions and was so good at explaining two dishes so that I ended up with more of what I was looking for. I will definitely be going back. More...
This place is a gem. The curry is better than any Indian restaurant I've ever been to. Dumpling was great!
Being there twice and everything I tried was absolutely delicious
Best tiny little Indian spot in town. The naan, lamb, and curry are all great!
Great little cafe. I'd never had Nepalese food before, but my wife had been missing it since we moved. She loved it here, and the food was really good.
Always great food
Don’t know why I waited so long to try this place. The food is great and the owner is so nice. If you’re looking for great ethnic food in Boise, don’t pass this one up!
This place is amazing. Love everything they offer, and their service is always amazing. Highly recommend!!!
Love the veg mom and chow mein here. Highly recommended!!
I couldn't stop eating at this place .The food was outstanding. I ate Yak for the first time ,yummy. The food was a mixture of Himalayan,Tibetan and Indian foods -All prepared family style
Stray from the unknown and try Momo Himalayan food, it's well worth the visit. Service is excellent! We had never tried this type of cuisine and they offered recommendations of what to try. Our needs were anticipated and well met and service was prompt. Food was great. While I'm not a huge fan of yellow curries, their foods were well seasoned and not overpowering. The Momo pork dumplings were especially great, with a creamy red sauce for dipping. The chicken in red curry sauce was ok, but the highlight was the fried noodles with lamb, a mix between Asian and Indian cuisines, it was delicious. If you're looking for something tasty, yet different from the usual, give this place a try. More...
Momos are amazing! Food is fantastic. If it takes a while to get your food it is because mum is in the back making it fresh..... and that’s a good thing.
Excellent food, introducing flavors I had yet to experience before now.
Possibly one of the best meals I've eaten in a very long time! Delicious samosas, momo's and all around a great meal. Price was amazing, service was excellent and the owner was a very nice man. I'll be back next time I'm in Boise! More...
Waiter enthusiastically walked us through the vegan, and vegetarian options. Even if the food weren't good I would have been happy.
Amazing customer service and really good food. Great deal on lunch specials.
Nice family-run business with great food. First time customer tonight but I will definitely be back!
Great service and good. I really enjoy the chicken vindaloo and my wife loves the masala.
This place was so great! The owner was super nice, the restaurant is small but clean and fun, and the food is delicious. We got the samosas, naan, chicken korma, and lamb chau chau. The naan was a little bland, next time I will try the garlic cilantro. Other than that, everything was perfect! I had never had chicken korma before and I'm so glad I got it, one of the best curries I've eaten. Wish we lived closer, we would get take out all the time. Can't wait to go back and try some other things! More...
Rah was great! He cane up with a vegetarian sampling for me.
Delicious chicken curry! Glad I found this little gem.
I've only been here once, but what a fantastic experience. I tried to go in today around 3:30, not realizing that they close between lunch and dinner, but before I could walk away the owner (I'm assuming) opened the door and told me to come in. He recommended a lamb, noodle, and veggie dish and had it ready for me in 5 minutes. What a total sweetheart. I will most certainly be going back to try more of the fantastic cuisine. More...

I tried this restaurant with a friend and really enjoyed the food! It's a very small place but has a nice atmosphere. I wasn't impressed with the service, though. It took forever to place our orders and get our food but maybe that's because it was a Friday night and super busy. More...

Great food! Great service!
This is the best ~Indian in town. Period. Fantastic Butter Chicken, Samosa Chaat.. and of course the Momos. I spent a year in India and I can say that this restaurant isn't losing anything in transit. They didn't Americanize/dial down the flavor. The family is also the nicest you'll ever meet, happy to have you try a little of everything and genuinely excited about the food. I couldn't recommend it more highly! Although I do hope that if they get to be too popular soon they can move to a bigger location More...
This place is a great hole in the wall Indian restaurant! It tastes great and the owner was patient and explained what was best for new comers. Will be back again!
Fantastic food. If you haven't been yet, do yourself a favor and go immediately!! The vegetarian dumplings are superb and the curry can be prepared to your spice preference!
Really enjoyed the food here. Very small restaurant, and the food was slow coming out, but when it came it was very good.
Tried this place for the first time today and loved it! I knew it was going to be so good the moment he handed me my to go box. They are very quick on to go orders. Mine was about 5-10 minutes. Very friendly staff and very accommodating. Finished the food and already want to go back! Bringing my work friends along next time! More...
Raj is incredibly polite and friendly, and he runs a great Himalayan restaurant. We ordered the mixed dumplings (among which were the yak dumplings - delicious), the chicken Chau Chau, and the sweet butter chicken. Raj gave us free samples and even offered to pack us an extra rice to-go seeing that we had butter chicken left over. I'm glad that this place exists and would highly recommend it. More...

Butter chicken and naan are awesome
Very enjoyable dinning experience, would eat here whenever in the area. Namaste to Raj and his family.
Love this place! Everything is awesome, especially the korma.
Everything was tasty including the black tea.
Probably my favorite restraunt ever. Raj is extremely nice and great service.Try the lamb Chao chao!! And Butter chicken
Wonderful little place with a great owner and great food. Recommended lunch spot.
Get the tika masala and you will be very happy with your meal. Great family-run place.
This place is delicious! If you're going to get appetizers, don't just get one. The samosas and dumplings are so different but equally as tasty - must try both! My boyfriend and I were super hungry so we also got naan bread and butter chicken to dip it in. By the time our chicken chao chao was there, we were full but it was also too good to just let sit there. Highly recommend this place. Really friendly staff and really great authentic food! Best dumplings in Boise for sure. More...
I loved the momos and the naan. The butter chicken was a bit on the sweet side for my taste. Overall for the price a very good lunch.
This was a great little spot. The host was wonderful explaining all the options for the menu combination. I had a variation from the menu with dumplings, noodles and saag paneer (not on the regular choice). I had a hard time choosing between that and the Tikka Masala, so they even brought me a little of that too. The host also noted if anyone in our party wanted something else he would gladly exchange it. He suggested a shared order of Naan and even split it among our party as we were all on separate checks (also no problem). You can't go wrong here. More...
Really delicious food. Choose your level of spice. Raj was great. His menu selection for first timers was perfect. We’ll be back with more family.
wow!! Little gem in boise.
Always excellent food, always at a great price. Mt. Everest Momo has some of my all-time favorite lunch specials.
This was a recommendation of a close friend. It's a nice small place for a Max of 35-40 people. The owner Raj is very nice and explains all the items and spice levels as well as regional cuisine. As a starter we had the mixed Momo with yak, vegetarian, chicken and pork dumplings and a spicy dipping sauce, very tasty. Our main course was lamb vindaloo and lamb chau chau with rice and garlic naan. We ordered spice level 4/5 and was just right for me, perhaps a bit too spicy if you are not used to spicy food. Both lamb dishes were delicious and reminded me of my trip to India. We used up all the naan bread to get the sauce out of the plates. We'll come back for sure. More...
I love this resteraunt !! The food is so freah and the staff is super friendly. Best samosas and naan bread ever !!
This place had the best service in town. The owner spent time making sure we understood the menu. We got chicken Momo dumplings the chicken curry and the lamb Chau Chau. Absolutely loved this place. Was our first try so we had one order of dumplings, one of noodles, and one of curry. Dumplings were superb. Curry was probably the best chicken tikka I've ever had. Mt. Everest is delicious, and the staff are so accommodating. Our server brought us complimentary samosas and recommended to us all the best vegan options. Definitely a gem!
Outstanding food, service was solid; excellent flavors and portion sizes!

Outstanding! I had the butter chicken and vindaloo, the flavor was amazing, the price was good, and portion size was perfect (and the garlic naan was outstanding)!
I ordered take-out from here last night and it was super yummy! I got hit with a craving for something with loads of flavor and a punch of spice - so I started perusing Yelp for some ideas and came across this place that I had bookmarked and decided to give it a go!I called around 7:15 and placed an order for Grilled Chicken Tikka Masala (medium spice) and Naan bread. The gentleman helping me on the phone was very friendly and answered any questions I had and also gave me recommendations when I asked for them. He said that Tikka Masala and Butter Chicken are the two top-sellers there, and seeing as I was in the mood for something a bit more savory than sweet, I went with the Tikka Masala. After placing my order he said the food would be ready in about 25 minutes.I pulled into the parking lot to find this sweet little inconspicuous restaurant, that had it not been for Yelp, I might have passed by. I stepped inside to find a charming, family-owned restaurant with fellow spice and flavor-craving patrons like myself. The gentleman who helped me on the phone was waiting right by the door and greeted me with a smile and recalled my order to me. As he rang me up he said, "First time?" (I'm guessing he's the owner and that he has a great memory of the faces that go in and out of his restaurant.) We chatted a little as he finished wringing me up. The total for my food (with tip) came out to $20.On to the good stuff: The Naan Bread - so yummy! I ate a lot of it alone, without dipping it into any of the Tikka Masala (this was mostly due to the fact that I ate it in my car, but it was delicious by itself nonetheless). I am pretty confident that they make their naan in house. It was slightly charred on the outside, had a buttery taste, and oddly reminded me of a not-sweet pancake. (Strange description that I fear doesn't do this bread justice - but I really enjoyed it!)The Tikka Masala- Oooookay, the sauce is incredible. I ordered mine medium, and this was wonderful. Creamy, savory and spicy with loads of chicken in it, served with a generous portion of rice on the side. The sauce in this dish is the kind that leaves you wanting to lick the bowl clean (not saying I did this, but I sure wanted to). I had a lovely take-out experience and I'm very eager to come back, dine in-house, and try out some new dishes! More...
The best Indian food in the area. The owner is always in the restaurant and loves to sit down and give you recommendations or have a chat. While it may seem like a while on the wall that's how you know it's going to be good. I've never had a bad meal at Momo's! More...
Everything we have eaten has been excellent. Shout out for the spicy chicken Korma and Samosas.
For such an ambitious menu covering Tibetan, Indian, Nepali, and Himalayan food they really deliver. It's great family style, but they also have combo lunches available that I haven't tried.I highly recommend the butter chicken for a spicy, fresh take on this Indian staple and the lamb Chau Chau for something new and delicious.Get samosas and yak momo's for some delicious appetizers. Also if you're hesitant about this new cuisine, let them know it's your first time, they're extremely welcoming and helpful. A delicious spot for Indian food lovers in Boise, we tried vegetable Momo's, veg noodles, saag paneer and roti. Absolutely loved it. Food was distinguished, coustmer service was exponential, the restaurant looked relatively good.
Hands down the best Indian food I've ever had. My wife and I stopped in just before closing, and the owner happily sat us down and explained everything very clearly for us. He made some awesome recommendations, and we left more than satisfied. 100% would recommend to anyone who enjoys Indian cuisine. Definitely try the butter curry, you won't regret it. More...

Amazing Indian and Himalayan food! A gem in Boise. Butter Chicken, Lamb Masala and Dumpling Mix was incredible! Glad I now know it's here. I'll be back!
This has become one of our families favorite places to eat.
The owner is amazing. He shared his story with us and took time to explain the overlay of the menu, giving us individual recommendations based on our tastes. He special made some coconut naan for us, and gave us a half order of butter chicken, which ended up being my favorite. More...
Another hidden gem in Boise! My husband and I pass this place everytime we go for our prenatal checkups, and we've only just recently gotten a chance to try it. It doesn't look like much from the street, but looks can certainly be deceiving! We arrived early for lunch on a weekday, so the place was quite empty, but that didn't bother us. Our server (I believe he was the owner, but we were too excited about having found out the gender of our baby to ask him unfortunately) was very attentive and asked us if we had been there before. He made recommendations from the lunch specials menu and left us to decide on our own. I ordered the "A" special, which came with three momo's, chau chau, a curry, and steamed rice. My husband ordered the "B" special, which was a full sized curry, steamed rice, and naan bread. Both orders came correct and were very flavorful. My husband had the chicken tikka masala, which was rich and creamy with a nice undertone of coconut from the milk used. It had a small amount of spice, which my husband thought was perfect. In my special, I had chicken vindaloo, lamb chau chau, and pork momos. The vindaloo was zesty and spicy, very flavorful. The chau chau (completely new dish to me) was very familiar tasting, but also exotic if you can believe that. It had the sweet and salty tones that one might recognize from Chinese noodle dishes, but the frying of the noodles gave it a caramelized bitter flavor that perfectly balanced it. Lastly were the momos. I thought they were delicious, and the vinegared chili sauce that came on top was very nice. Unfortunately, they were also the source of my only complaint: the meat inside was quite dry. I've never had momos before, so it's entirely possible that they are meant to be that way, so I'll reserve judgement until I know otherwise. Personally I would have preferred a more juicy filling. A final note: our server noticed us staring at our ultrasound photos and took the time to ask us about our baby, which we were more than happy to talk about! It was very sweet. All in all, we will most certainly be returning in the future, preferably for dinner so we can try the full menu! More...
Amazing food and very great service. They made sure you left full and happy!
Liked it... Hospitality was awesome
Nice food and friendly owner!
The food was great! They were very nice to us. We got everything to go and it was all still warm when we finally got home.
Delicious food from the Himalayas- Indian and Nepali! Bring the family, order a bunch of dishes, share, have a great time! Highly recommended!
Try it or feel sad
Good food, but you need to ask for hot sauce.
Service and food are both outstanding. I recommend this to anyone looking for Indian food, especially the naan bread, the best I've ever found.
Very unique cuisine. Delicious! Yak dumpling?! Hello!
This place will knock your socks off! Excellent food and such a great variety! Wonderful service, too. Note: they do NOT serve alcohol.

Excellent place to go for some wonderful curry, fried noodles and dumplings. You absolutely just try the Tikka Masala if you go. The food is all prepared by the owner and his family and he will gladly walk you through the menu. My whole family loves this place so give it a try! More...
The sweet butter chicken is fantastic. The front of house staff are excellent and kind
Best restraunt in Boise , family owned and very good menu . You must try the butter chicken , as it possibly is the best taste I've ever had in my mouth
Great place for samosa chaat and some momos!
Everything is fantastic
Friendly staff and very clean studios.
This place was great! It had super tasty vegetarian options and an attentive staff. Will come again soon.
Great food, will return
Holy Hannah! The BEST tasting Nepalese food I have ever tasted! The service matches up there too!
Excellent flavored dished. Small but comfortable seating.
They have several vegetarian options and it's all delicious. Their chai tea is a must. Their lunch menu is very filling.
Great food and greater service! Went there tonight with my 2 kids, ages 4 and 2. My 2 year old loved the samosas and mango lassi. Both my kids loved the noodles with vegetables and chicken (I don't remember the name of the dish). The naan bread was okay, and the coconut korma was wonderful. More...
Very tasty, not quick service but very friendly and attentive.
Always good food there never disappointed
Amazing! Bring your appetite!
A MOST EXCELLENT restaurant. Food is very good , nicely done, and spicy just how I like it, you can order mild to very hot and it was hot enough, perfect and fiery exactly how I like it. So many restaurants don't serve it spicy enough for my liking, but this one did not disapoint. If you like Nepalese food, this one is the one for you. DO IT! More...
Authentic great tasting exotic food for Boise.
This place is an instant favorite! I plan on being a regular! Read about the owner! He was our server and was great, bringing out samples for us and incredibly kind.
I recommend the vegetable momos and samosa chat. Yum!
This place is absolutely amazing. The owner is the nicest guy and the food tastes like pure joy and happiness. I went two days in a row for that butter chicken and naan bread and it was so worth it.
Husband and I went here for lunch, we ordered a little bit of everything they have a few sampler plates so we ordered those, the chicken soup, nothing disapointed!! the food was all so flavorful and the dessert option is so different but so tasty at the same time! The manager is so nice and helps with selections as well we will be going back for sure!! More...

We love this place. I get the Indian butter chicken and my hubby gets the Himalayan noodles. And the naan is fresh baked and delicious.
Whatever you get, get naan to go with it!
Tried this place for the first time and loved it, can't wait to go back. The food was delicious. The owner was so friendly and helpful. Got to to chat about his homeland and the dishes. Small but cozy place More...
The Lamp chawmen and ginger naan was the best...
Best Indian in Boise!
It’s a very nice and a decent place to visit. Snacks are really good and speacially the spicy sauce is really good. Everyone can give a try for sure.
Lovely, quaint little place. Delicious meal
The kind of food they serve was new to me and I absolutely loved. Everything was delicious. It is a small, quaint place. The gentleman who served was great and allowed us to customize our order. He was very friendly. We received our meal very we quickly. I would definitely recommend this place and we will definitely being going back. Makes a for a great lunch date. More...
Absolutely wonderful. My friends and I tried this place based on a recommendation and were blown away. Portion sizes are perfect and the cheese naan bread was to die for. I highly recommend the Panir Masala and the Lamb Chau Chau. A MUST try in Boise if you are in the mood for something new. Super authentic and the owner (Raj) is so friendly! More...
My first time here and it was outstanding! Small but intimate, family-run place with awesome food. I had the lunch combo with a variety of items, all explained by the owner who waited on us. The butter chicken was to die for! I will definitely be back. It's SO nice to have a choice like this in Boise! More...
Great little place with neat weekday lunch specials. Because of the combos, we got to try a variety of things including momos, lamb noodles, chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, veggie korma, and chicken curry. I wasn't expecting to like the veggie korma (which was recommended by our waiter) but it ended up being my favorite. I will say the dishes were sweeter than than other Indian/Himalayan restaurants and not spicy at all, but the flavors were still excellent. I wish they included more sauce to eat with rice/naan. So, we took friends visiting from CA who had recently traveled in SE Asia and they loved this place, as did we. Great food (they offer Yak from McCall no less), very casual, great selections to try a variety of small plates. Don't let the prison type trays throw you off, it's the thing in most of the world, and now it's arrived in Boise. The food is delicious and as mild or as Spivey as you want. We highly recommend it. What a great experience! My husband and I were in town for a day and found this place based on other Yelp reviews. Boy are we glad that we caught them before they closed. You could tell that the owner is super passionate about his restaurant from the moment you enter the door. He was attentive and super helpful in explaining the menu options to us as newcomers to this cuisine. We had the lunch special containing dumplings, curry (chicken tikka was INCREDIBLE ), lamb noodles, a big bowl of butter chicken (Mercy!) and flatbread (Best ever). The wait was not long considering everything was made fresh for us (after the busy lunch crowd left at 14:00). Once the food was placed on our table the aromatic scent of clarified butter and spice drew us in. Beautiful flavors, good portion sizes and very affordable. The owner is one of those people who picks up on little nuances to see whether you are truly enjoying your meal, and adjusts any and everything to your liking when time allows. I love that, and I love to support passionate people who invest so much time and effort into a great customer experience. Wishing him and his family all the best More...

We love this place! We stumbled upon it on one of our visits to Boise before we moved here. The food is authentic and delicious. The owners are so kind and helpful to those who aren’t familiar with Tibetan or Nepalese food. The chai tea took me back to Nepal- it is delicious! My daughter loves th chicken chao chao and asks to eat here at least once a week! One of our family favorites! More...
I've had both lunch and dinner here. The food usually takes a while but is good. It's fun to be able to get Indian, Nepalese, and Himalayan food all in one spot. We especially love the chau chau, samosas, and veggie korma. The owner is very personable and helpful with Amy menu questions or recommendations More...
Hard to find Nepalese food in Boise. Luckily this place is around. My vegetarian lunch option was solid --sagg paneer, curried vegetables, and channa masala. Rice was good --they do seconds on rice. More...
Great atmosphere, very clean and well put together. Staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating. Not to mention... Awesome dumplings, curry, and chao chao noodles. Incredible. I've had Tibetan/Himalayan in a number of places across the country and this is right up there as the best ive had. Next time im in boise ill definitely be back More...
When we visit Boise never missed this place. Always delicious food and great Hospitality.
The flavors! Can’t believe I had this today for the first time. I’ve been missing out. Great service and event better food. The Butter Chicken - soooo good!
Thank you Yelpers for your ratings on Mount Everest! I was in town for the first time and looking for some tasty and healthy food. This place checked both boxes! Mt Everest does not have a buffet so all their meals are made fresh. You can tell in the flavor. I had the lamb curry and it was one of the best curries I've ever had. I'll definitely go back to this place! More...
Hot damn! Great food and friendly service, you won’t regret it!
Excellent food and service! The garlic cheese naan and butter chicken are fabulous! Very unique place!
Great food! Great spices! Great Naan! Did not disappoint!
May I please have your attention? Yes, this was my first time here and yes it was good. I went today for lunch because I was in the area due to a flat tire. At first, I was nervous because no one was there. It's a mom and pop shop, brick and mortar, or whatever phrase you like better. My husband, had been before so he kept reassuring me. I got the lunch special($9.99), creating my own plate type of doing choosing from 3 options. I was familiar with 2 of my options because I had before, but one of them was something different. Well, my iffy option chicken kormua, tasted like heaven. My mouth is watering even now thinking of it. Do yourself a favor and give it a try. I know I'll be going back on a monthly basis to try the whole menu. More...
This is BY FAR one of my favorite restaurants in Boise, esp when it comes for authenticity! The owners are the most wonderful humans and never fail to steer me in the right direction if I can't make up my mind on what I want. The butter chicken, tikka masala and curries are TO DIE FOR. I wish I could eat here at least twice a week forever. More...
This is our favorite restaurant in Boise! The food is amazing and it’s so nice to support a mom and pop local business. I recommend the butter chicken with garlic nan.
Owner was very friendly. The flavor of the food was amazing. Will come back the next time I'm in town for sure!
This is some of the best food in Boise! The butter chicken is to die for. Everything I've had there has been mouth wateringly delicious! We love this place!
There are two reasons why I truly love to dine at Mount Everest Momo Cafe. The first is because whenever I come in the owner Raj treats me like family. There is something so warm and memorable about dining at a place where they greet you like an old friend. I also love that you can tell Raj exactly what kind of food you want. Like, today I want spicy and sweet, or lamb but nothing bitter and he will make you the perfect dish and help you choose appetizers to match. My second reason for loving to dine here is the food! No matter what I have ordered here I have loved it. Today I ordered the momo soup with extra veggie momos and let me tell you, I cannot wait to eat my leftovers tonight! Mount Everest Momo Cafe is my favorite place to eat because it has amazing food in an ultra-friendly environment. They have remarkable lunch specials. Whether you are dining out with friends or coworkers I highly recommend giving Mt. Everest a shot! More...
Great food and friendly service from the owner. Atmosphere is wonderful
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Boise, and honestly it is some of the best Indian food I've ever had. They also have Himalayan and Tibetan food as well. The momos are a must buy. I personally enjoy the garlic naan and saag paneer, but everything I've tried so far has been excellent (the chau chau noodles are awesome too!). The owner is very personable and does a great job of making everyone feel welcome. He has a knack for knowing when it's someone's first visit and does a good job of making sure they order something they will enjoy. More...
This is Boise's best kept secret boasting handmade-to-order Tibetan, Nepalese, and Indian dishes. Try the yak momos (like dumplings). We loved it and will return again and again. The Saag Paneer was amazing! More...
A lot of vegan options and the food is phenomenal! Highly recommend!
Excellent food in a perfect little hole in the wall joint. The owner was very friendly, took the time to explain the menu to a couple of first timers. The naan was excellent as was the house made paneer and the samosas. Can't wait to go back. More...

The owner is nice and passionate about his food. He even gave us an lamb entrée for free, just because he wanted us to try it! The food is some of the best Indian food I have had, and it is the only place for good Tibetan food in Boise. We will be coming back to this place for sure. More...
Excellent food spiced to your taste and wonderful, welcoming service! A hidden gem, really. Be warned though, once you try their food you will crave it daily! We tried the momo sampler, chao chao, the lamb bahti saag, and the owner brought us out a sample of their delicious butter chicken. Everything was soooo good, I don't think you can go wrong with anything they serve! My spouse and I give them 5 stars. More...
For all you business travelers out there: give this place a shot. It's a 6 minute drive from the airport and the food is top notch. The owner of the cafe Rash is out taking orders and serving to ensure you have a great experience. Not sure what to get...just ask. Rash won't steer you wrong. I had a full order of the lamb masala and he made me a half order of the lamb chau chau because I wanted to try both plates. If you haven't had Himalayan/Napolese food before, prepare your taste buds. Bold flavors that leave you wanting just one more bite. Like spice? Well they can deliver. I like very spicy food and the medium was perfect. If you want it less spicy, go for the mild. Thanks for the chat Rash and keep doing your thing. Your thing is delicious. More...
Our friend recommended Momo Cafe and we are so glad he did. This was our first experience having authentic Indian/Tibetan cuisine and we enjoyed everything we ordered. Delicious vegetarian menu, and the best chai tea I've ever had!
Tried a few dishes on the menu and they were all very delicious. They even gave us extra rice in our to go box, which is incredible. 5* Service 5* food
This place was amazing. First time here and we were just looking at window because they weren't open yet and the owner saw us and invited us in. Had the lamb Korma and was extremely pleased. Wife had the saag panier. Would suggest start with mild and go up from there slowly. The spicy was really spicy. When my wife mentioned hers was a little spicy he took it back to the kitchen, worked some magic and it came better. Great service and great food. Will definitely be back. More...
Off the beaten path and doesn't look like much from the outside, but don't miss this place! The butter chicken and the chicken chau chau are amazing. The yak dumplings were quite good too. I didn't especially like the vegetarian dumplings, or the Indian donuts for dessert, but everything else was so good that I can't change my rating. The owner/waiter was great: very pleasant and helpful with very helpful suggestions! I wished I lived here so could come more often. More...
This is my third time here. I am addicted to the food, flavors. I can't get the taste out of my head, it's like you have to eat the food several times a week. Raj is the owner, I think he does the cooking and serving the customers.Today is really busy, so worth the wait. More...
Looking for dinner after checking into our motel. This restaurant was close, had very good Yelp ratings and sounded like something out of the ordinary. What's a great find! They were not at all busy, but it was after 7 pm on a Monday. Excellent service. The owner explained the menu and gave us some suggestions. We had Mixed Momo for appetizers - my favorite was vegetable, but they were all very good. We shared Lamb ChauChau and chicken saag. My favourite was the swag, but both were excellent. Degree of heat in curry is your choice. He made ours 1.5 which was mild but with some kick. We'll be back. More...
It's a good place to get poutsas. The food is good. I really liked the samosas chat. The sad thing is that they serve ice cream in the summer only. The curries could be spicier; make sure you ask for hot sauce. More...

Wonderful! We went on a week day evening, and we were seated right away. the gentleman who served us, maybe the owner?, was kind enough to explain how the menu was organized. I always enjoy meals here. Food always meet my expectations. Food is served quickly, server/owner is attentive. My fav so far is veg chow chow and samosa chat. Masala chai is great too. The owner is a real genuine, sweet person. Give this place a try and I am sure you will return. More...

Best Indian food ever. Great customer service and the owners are great! Have to try!!
The food and service complemented each other! I am glad I chose to eat there! I highly recommend them!
Absolutely wonderful. I've been here many times now and I always try a new dish. Always delicious . The owner and his family are always kind. It's interesting how the low reviews mention Whole Foods. Seriously Makes me wonder if they are being paid? Anyways, if you are looking for good Nepali and Indian food that is relatively inexpensive try Momo! It's the best in any city! More...

This is by far my favorite restaurant in the valley. The owner is wonderful, the food is amazing, and the prices are fantastic. They also happen to deliver to my work.I'm actually surprised this is my first review, as I've been repeat customer for years and no matter what my day is like, eating here is always makes it the best ever.I highly recommend the lamb curry, vegetable korma, vegetable biryani, yak momos, and vegetable chau chau. We received a Groupon for Mount Everest Momo Cafe, having never heard of it before. My parents knew that we love trying new foreign foods, so they thought it would be a fun experience. We had a little Anniversary Staycation this weekend, so we decided to try it out.The location was a bit dodgy, in a strip mall, but the beautiful handpainted mural on the front window showing the name of the restaurant with the mountains in the background gave us a clue to the intense care the owners put into making this space their own. We arrived at the same time as another couple, and were greeted by (I assume?) the owner and asked if we had been there before and we were both first timers. So he stood between our two tables and gave both couples a warm welcome and detailed introduction of the food categories served there, what is most popular and what he recommended we try since it was our first time. We were delighted and I commented to my husband that this is the exact kind of individualized care and pride in the food that I would love to have at every foreign restaurant! My husband and I have both eaten a lot of Indian food but we have never had Tibetan or Nepalese food before so we decided to order the Mixed Momo, which was four different kinds of dumplings: chicken, pork, veggie and yak! This came with a buttery, velvety orange-colored dipping sauce that we could not place the flavors of but was DELICIOUS. We preferred the meat dumplings to the veggie dumplings. Then we shared an order of Samosa Chat which I have only had once before, and loved. This is a cut up Samosa covered with an amazing curry and tamarind flavored sauce, and fresh chickpeas, red onions, fresh tomatoes, and cilantro! IT WAS UNBELIEVABLE!!!! I am getting hungry right now just thinking about it. The combination of warm samosa with the crunchy fried shell, the sweet and spicy sauce, and the freshness of the veggie toppings and then the cool tangy yoghurt... I am not joking, this was literally one of my favorite dishes I have ever eaten in my life.We also tried the Chicken Chau Chau, which was new to us. It was a plate of thick noodles bathed in a beautiful red sauce with chunks of delicious tandoori chicken and topped with fresh cilantro. It was delicious. It reminded us of the textures of Chinese Chow Mein. Our waiter (the owner?) strongly urged us to try the Butter Chicken throughout the whole meal, which made us laugh. We have had it many times before so it was not a priority as we prefer trying new things. But at the end of our meal, when it was clear we were not going to order it, he brought us a tiny little dish of it to try. AND IT WAS SO GOOD I WANTED TO LICK THE PLATE CLEAN. RIDICULOUSLY delicious. He has some secret ingredient in there that makes it like crack. We guessed brown sugar or honey, but he was vague and elusive. HA! So guess what we'll be ordering next time...I do want to observe that during our meal, he lit an incense stick and said some incantations while circling the register, the phone and a few other things, with a little statue of Ganesh sitting there. It made me a little uncomfortable, but I did have to say: whatever he's doing is WORKING! There was a steady stream of customers the entire time we were there, and we will definitely be back as soon as physically possible!! Now I'm just hoping for him to open a restaurant closer to us in Nampa or Caldwell!EDITED: Wanted to add that the menu was MASSIVE! I noticed other reviewers saying that there are few menu options, so I am not sure if this menu version is new and updated, but just in case, I added photos of all the menu pages! More...

Great place, staff are friendly and super helpful at explaining the menu for those unfamiliar with it and making recommendations
Good food and service. I stop in everytime I'm in town.
The lamb chau chau is our favorite thing here, but everything on the menu is fantastic. There was recently new flooring and more tables put in, making the inside even more cozy.
The server was very attentive and explained the menu to us as new patrons. The samosas were some of the best I have ever had and the momo tasting platter was a delicious appetizer. My husband and I shared the vegetable noodle dish and the garlic naan as our main course. All the food was amazing and we left full and content. We will come back again with friends and family. I have been looking for a Himalayan restaurant and this one is great I have to say the yak Momo's are the best.
This is now my favorite restaurant in Boise! The lamb chau chau is absolutely amazing!
Very tasty Chk curry. One of my favorite meals: nan bread, rice and curry. They nailed this meal here. Yes the location is in a strip mall, but the food is beyond what one would expect. Pleasant atmosphere, very casual and comfortable. Only item on my lunch special I wouldn't order again is the pork momo. Not for me. But I will definitely head back again. What a great find! More...
Unbelievably delicious food. I've tried both the lamb chau chau and the tikka masala. Service was fast and polite.
Good food and good prices. Waiter was a bit too talkative. Too many interruptions to my meal
The staff are very friendly and the food was good but I would skip the Indian dishes, they are not as good as the Tibetan and Hemalian dishes.
Veggie momo and veggie Chau Chau are delicious. Staff/owners are very friendly.
Fantastic service and food. This is truly a hidden gem. Put it on your must go list.
First time & excellent service food. Owner took time at closing time to be sure we were servered & enjoyed our meals.Even gave us free sample to try which was also excellent. They go beyond to make sure you are satisfied..thank you! More...

I hung out in Boise all day and needed a place to eat dinner before heading back to the less gastronomically diverse rural town I was staying in. I got to Mount Everest right when they opened for dinner (5 pm). The owner was very friendly and sat me himself. I told him I like curry and spicy food, and that I wanted a hearty meal. He recommended the chicken curry and a half order of Nepalese dumplings (momo). The curry was good, but not exceptional. The dumplings were amazing. I would have a full order of dumplings and another appetizer in the future instead of the meal I had. Great overall. More...
Excellent food. Had the chicken vindaloo and the momo. Great experience, and looking forward to returning.
Amazing food! I love trying different places and I love momos, this restaurant was definitely a winner. My favorite dish was the navaratan korma. After reading several Yelp reviews, we ordered the Samosa Chat, Vegetarian Chau Chau, and the Chicken Makhani (butter chicken). All were delicious! The place is located in a strip mall off of Broadway. Everything was bursting with spices and flavor...these guys know what they are doing! The butter chicken was surprisingly sweeter than traditional butter chicken is served but no complaints here! Cleanliness level was somewhat concerning so take out might be a better option if that sort of stuff makes you uncomfortable. Service was alright too...seemed like the server was very tired but was attentive. Overall, I love the combination of cuisines from different countries...will be returning! More...
We had to drop my truck off at les schwab so we decided to walk across the street and try this place. And my gosh was that the right decision.
