Went there with my parents, food was really good, authentic Indian food with genuine pricing and great ambiance.
My very first time eating at an Indian Restaurant and it was a wonderful taste experience! I really enjoyed my meal and dessert! Beautiful restaurant and nice staff! More...
Great atmosphere. Good food but too much is served.
Amazing food. Best Lasuni gobi!!
I would love to go here again the food was wonderful! Awesome atmosphere. ..great staff!
Biryani was great. However, Vegetable jalfrezi could have been improved
Very tasty food
Nice lunch buffet. Decent variety. The lamb korma was delicious as well as the kheer. A+

So delicious food
Food is great. Lamb Korma is just to die for. Rice is so fluffy and fresh. Deserts are tooth ache sweet but I like them that way. Excellent selection of beer. Service seems improved! Very close to 5 stars. One more great visit and 5 stars it is. More...
Delicious food for a great price.
Fantastic food, attentive severs, and good cocktails.
Delicious food. Great prices for the cuisine. Beautiful on the inside. The buffet is my favorite.
Great environment for a date night or with the whole family. Wonderful food! Would go there every date night!
Very good food. Worth the price. Great taste. Atmosphere is beautiful.
Love this place. Great atmosphere and very clean. Excellent saag paneer, mulligatawny, samosas, malai kofta, and tandoori chicken. Excellent eggplant crisp appetizer that I would have never thought of - very original. Really good cocktails, too. Slightly more expensive than other Indian placesIn the area but worth it for the atmosphere, quality of food, and cleanliness. More...
Usually Indian restaurants are super hit or miss. I've been to quite a few, and let me tell you- this is the best Indian food I have ever had in my life. When I go to an Indian restaurant, I'm usually satisfied with the appetizers, and they are always my favorite part of the meal. the entree comes out and I'm left with a "meh" feeling. Not this place. I risked my experience by not ordering any apps but three entrees to share. It was food heaven, the spices were so complimentary - the flavor wasn't in your face. the execution was perfect. To date- my favorite Indian restaurant I have dined at thus far. Seriously check it out! More...
Delightful experience, was unsure of the menu but the staff knew it well and made excellent recommendations
Beautiful and elegant atmosphere, great vegan options and great service.
This place has got very good indian food. I loved the lasuni gobi and it has authentic Indian taste and spice. The mango chutney is a must try
Definitely one of the best Indian buffets in Binghamton!! As it is Indian cuisine is known to be spicy and filled with lot of flavors. Yet moghul makes the best food with a smooth blend of flavors keeping the spice level pretty low!! And yes hands down on their Naan!! They make the best naan as per my experience!! This is a regular place for my husband and me! More...
Great food! My favorite is the lamb saag...SO good. Very good service. They even brought out a pistachio ice cream for us to share when they found out we were celebrating my brother's birthday.
Had the tandoori lunch box. Very tasty and good price for a lot of food! Interior of restaurant looked beautiful
Delicious! Always a good time.
Amazing food. Authentic. Warm experience.
Food was good but on this last visit the spicy dishes weren't spicy at all.
Very good food. Worth the price. Kinda a long wait for the food.
Lovely little Indian restaurant in Vestal. The staff was very friendly. I haven't had Indian food in such a long time and when we saw this place we knew that we had to try it out. They had a variety of Indian beers in stock which was awesome. The lamb biriyani was amazing! It definitely made the experience worthwhile just for that. The vindaloo chicken was good, a little spicer then what I was expecting. The poori was huge! Good restaurant all around. More...
Delicious lunch buffet. Very clean restaurant. Cordial staff. 14 dollars a Person. Worth it. Btw, first Indian place I've been to with beef.
Great food and service.
Great Indian food#
Came here for a date night with my girlfriend. She loves Indian food and the Moghul on campus at Binghamton University is one of her favorites. We came here and the food was pretty good. I got great lamb kabob and my girlfriend got chicken vindaloo. The service was slightly slow but not too much of a big deal. It was only pretty slow considering that there were not many people in the restaurant. More...
The best Indian food ever!!!
While it took a while to get dinner once it was ordered (New Years Eve) the food was delicious. Our server was very good, keeping us informed why the delay and going the extra mile to make our experience pleasant. We will be back!
The lunch buffet is delicious and day of the week, though the weekend lunch buffet seems to have more choices. They bring you a sizzling piece of chicken and fresh naan. All were amazing, but the little hot dessert balls were TO DIE FOR. More...
Always interesting dishes to try. We normally go for the lunch buffet on Saturdays. The choices always rotate, so you have a good chance of experiencing different cuisine. We've always had friendly staff. The man with glasses who runs the dining room (Adnan?) on Saturdays is very attentive and very professional. They have nice background music playing which makes for a pleasant experience. We have never had and problems here. Enjoy! More...
The food was outstanding
Excellent food all around. Thank you for hosting our big group and doing a great job.
Love the food!
Ithaca has decent Indian food but - to my western palate - this is by far my favorite in the region, recommended to me by a colleague who grew up nearby. Great flavors and ingredients, many interesting choices, nice, relaxing atmosphere, and very professional service. Worth the detour when driving down to NYC. More...

Nice ambiance. Authentic / good food!
My favorite Indian in the area. I've always had great food and service. As a vegetarian, this is definitely a favorite. Their lunch buffet is great too! It IS a bit pricey, but it's worth it if you want to splurge. More...

Amazing food and service. Food had wonderful flavor
We had an amazing experience. The place is clean, the atmosphere was very pleasent.. Food was fantastic!! Prices are very reasonable. The waitress Rosaline was the best! She helped us in our choices as it was our first time for my birthday... We were delighted expecially the mango lasi smoothie... We recommend Moghul and definetely will go back and try the buffet next time. More...
This was my first time at an Indian restaurant and the experience was great. Being in a college town it was quite busy and loud but the food was delicious. They were very accommodating as I wanted to try different levels of spice and they brought me sauces on the side. A must try for anyone who wants something different and authentic. More...

Best Indian buffet we have yet to experience.
Pricey dinner but excellent food. Good attentive wait staff. The deal is the lunch buffet though!!
As a vegetarian starving late into night, I didn't have many options available. I've had Moghul at Binghamton University Marketplace before and wanted to give this restaurant in University Plaza a try. To start off, Moghul is a fine dining restaurant featuring many Indian dishes from vegetarian and meat dishes to soups and different breads. Their menu is quite extensive and provides many options of Indian food to explore. Although I didn't dine-in, the inside environment was very cozy and provided a nice atmosphere for any meal. The lighting was on the dimmer side. The restaurant also had a large bar. The staff was courteous when placing an order. I ordered the Vegetable Vindaloo at very spicy level. From their menu, it is described as the following: Mixed vegetables cooked in highly spiced tangy Goan hot sauce. The order came with a lot of side dishes: 2 big pieces of salted chips, 2 pieces of donuts dipped in sugary syrup, a serving of rice, green chutney sauce, and a small serving of salsa. The food was extremely warm when I got it. The flavor of the Vindaloo wasn't anything amazing, and I wished it was spicier. The vegetables were quite yummy and the serving of rice well complemented the dish. I was totally surprised with the amount of side dishes provided. The prices were somewhat on the higher end than I had expected. Each entree was a little above 10 dollars, but I think it was worth it for the amount of food I received. The service was on the slower end. I ordered around 10:30pm, and the food was done at 11pm. I'm assuming it took longer because the staff was in the process of cleaning up and closing at 11pm. Additionally, since there was a lot of side dishes, I'm assuming it also took a while to prepare and pack. Overall, I think this is an interesting place to have Indian cuisine. I definitely do want to try more things from their menu, so I might come again and actually dine in. More...
Food and service are excellent!
Best indian food around
The food is amazing service was great. Amazing portion sizes
meat platter, veg platter (fried,), garlic naan, lemon rice so good. we are from southern California and this is as good. more than enough for 2 adults. 1 dish less next time.
You can never go wrong with their buffet
Great food, excellent service, beautiful atmosphere
The food here is decent enough, but select your spice level as per taste or else you will end up crying finishing some of the things.
This place never fails to provide quality, good-tasting food. The setting is also very welcoming.
Good Indian food, good ambience
Good food and nice ambience...4 star as I felt coupls of dishes could have been better...:P
It's pretty good, but the prices are just a little too high. We don't come here anymore since Royal Indian opened up.
We were on the way back to New York City from upstate New York when accidentally we discovered this hidden gem in New York. Excellent customer service, friendly and attentive behavior of the servers. Would love to go again whenever i get a chance. The “Lasuni gobi” we had was amazing and a different taste of “Lamb biryani”. They give you crackers while you wait. More...
Very good food well-mannered people
It was good
Nice Indian restaurant. Buffet gave us a chance to try many different things. Friendly service.
Being an Indian, I expect my food with different spices other than what other native people have here. And they get all my requirements well. Its little pricey but I think its worth it. More...

Visited on the way back to NYC...food tastes better than any indian restaurent in NYC...cozy ambiance... perfect level of sweetness in the entrees....
Took my girlfriend here and it us Gorgeous inside! Great waiter and food I suggest the meat samosa.
The Chicken Korma (mild) and Kandhari Naan are to die for. The Mango Lassi is also really really good.
Without a doubt some of the best food I have ever eaten. I will definitely make this a regular stop when I am in town
A cozy, intimate and beautiful Indian restaurant (especially if you get a booth near the bar). The food is superb, and they have six beer taps, five of which are nicely selected regional craft drafs.Definitely worth a visit.
Excellent quality food here! Nice lunch buffet. I have only ever been here for the buffet, and there is always a nice selection of vegetarian versus meat, mild versus spicy. The mushroom chili was absolutely amazing! They bring naan bread to the table, as well as tandoori chicken pieces. I do which they would offer just a few more choices on the buffet. Maybe a couple more vegetarian options?Nice atmosphere, clean restrooms, friendly employees. A great choice for tasty Indian food! More...
This is, hands down, the best Indian buffet I have ever eaten at... and I eat at Indian restaurants regularly. I call it the best because of the extras provided: free naan AND a free tandoori chicken leg, along with good food choices that were well seasoned without overpowering my palate? A too notch experience. Girlfriend and I literally decided to make this an annual tradition going forward (we live near DC). More...
The service here has always been excellent and the food is amazing!
Excellent lunch buffet for $11 on a wweekday

The best and most authentic Indian food you can get in the Binghamton area. Service is great and the staff are friendly and willing to help is you're a novice to Indian cuisine.
Both food amd service is impeccable! A real gem!
The food and caterers are awesome, although the prices are a bit hi
Though the prices are a little high, the food and staff are amazing!
Consistently fantastic food & service. One of my favorite restaurants.
I love Indian food, it's so warm and flavorful, This place has a nice atmosphere. The food is delicious, the waiters were really helpful
Delicious food. I had the buffet and it comes with a freshly made tandori chicken. Very tender/juicy chicken. Excellent flavor. Very good servers. Definitely will visit again! More...
I love their lunch buffet!
Good Indian food. Nice waiters, family owned.
It's always fantastic! Get the Vindaloo Lamb!
I love this place, very good for vegetarians. There is also one on BU campus which is cheaper than the restaurant and just as good!
The lunch buffet is always the best deal in town with very good quality food.
Great Indian food! A bit pricey, but recommended.
Good food had nice service in my two visits to this place.
Good food, efficient and polite service, buffet is always well cared for and is a great deal.
Secret gem of binghamton/vestal. Buffet price is awesome and food with service is one of the best in town.
Great, fresh food. Great portions for the price. The mixed drinks old use a little improvement but staff was great with a very short wait to be seated and fed.
Wow!!!very good restaurants
Awesome place .. for Indian and Asian food .light on pocket
I don't understand the sub-par reviews for this place. My boyfriend and I have been here a handful of times and have always had a great experience. First off, the food is amazing and doesn't make me feel like I won't be able to leave my bathroom the entire following day. The service is always excellent. Let me tell you, one time we came on a night they were having a large event and the restaurant was very crowded. The server forgot to put our order in and the manager happened to notice we had been at our table for almost an hour without our food but we were having a great time and enjoying some excellent drinks, so, whatever. The manager and server approached our table to admit their mistake AND complimented the charges off the entire meal, including our drinks. Another time I left my phone at the table and a server SPRINTED out of the restaurant into the parking lot to make sure I got it back. More...
Looking for an good Indian restaurant in Vestal due to the seemingly, in my opinion, terminal demise of the Royal Indian, we decided to give the Moghul a try. We were tempted to turn around and try somewhere else as it seems that the entire car park was reserved for customers of Tully's or Five Guys, which hasn't even opened for business yet! A note to the landlords, this scheme, as it turned out a deterrent to stop Binghamton university students using it as a long-stay, is bad for business. Anyway, risking being towed away we parked in one of Five Guys' spaces. We went into Moghul and decided to sit in the bar area, itself worth a visit if you just fancy a pint. We were looked after by the barman, a friendly young man named Brendan. Drinks arrived quickly, beer was nice and cold and even though he had a bar to run he never left us waiting. Food was ordered and arrived within 15 minutes. The meat samosas, clearly cooked to order were beautiful as were our mains of; chicken tikka masala, chicken chettenadu and chana masala. Including drinks our bill worked out to around $25 a head. Not bad at all. I really hope this was a typical evening for Moghul as we'll definitely be back. More...

The food was very good! The atmosphere is pleasant and the waiter was attentive as well as polite. Price is fair and you get a lot of food. Not a fast food restaurant so it may take a little bit longer but well worth the wait. We spent an hour but had appetizer and salad before the main course so expected it. Plan on going back! More...
Some of the best Indian food I've ever had, and the ambiance was pristine. The staff was more courteous than friendly. They didn't smile once, but they clearly took their jobs seriously and were hell bent on creating an excellent Indian restaurant. The serving was very generous. I was stuffed after eating half of it and brought the rest home. I waited a few more minutes than I'd have liked for the check. But overall, I was pretty impressed. I've eaten at dozens of Indian restaurants, all over the country, and I can count on one hand the ones that were better than this one, so I definitely recommend it. More...
Lunch buffet was pretty good, mostly chicken options. Everything looked fresh and tasted good. We really liked it and were glad we stopped.
This place is amazing! We had the lunch buffet this afternoon and everything was delicious. The interior is beautiful and the servers were awesome.
Moghul is a personal favorite for Indian in the Southern Tier. My go-to dish is the Chicken Tikka Masala, with its rich and smooth tomato-based sauce and tender chunks of white meat. Do not order this unless you are prepared to eat an entire basket of Naan! You must sop up every morsel! I also prefer the coconut rice (with a small up-charge) as my base. For special treats, I have the Sea Bass - huge portion and the best preparation of any kind in town - the grilled, dense fish with its steak-like (but tender!) texture is a great choice for someone in your party who 'doesn't want Indian'. If I am just stopping in for Happy Hour, I choose the Eggplant Crisps - a cool (temp and inspiration) and flavorful form of Indian nachos! - I will lick this plate! I choose less spicy dishes as a rule and tend to go for the same things because I can't pass them up but there is something here for everyone. More...
Had the weekend buffet. Everything was delicious. Service was great too. Very friendly staff.

I've gotta say, I used to come here for Chicken (back in like 09-10) and wasn't impressed with the food.As of lately however, it has been quite delicious. The service has been fast and respectful, the prices are more than fair, and the portions are quite good. My girlfriend and I usually get an order of Chicken Tikka and some naan. The chicken is high quality and is spiced and cooked just right - every single time. The naan is also great. It's a clean, happy, and nice atmosphere. 9/10. More...
One of our faves for Indian; prices can be a bit high.
Very nice food and service !! Highly recommended.
The prices here are not easy on the wallet. That said, if you're looking for a unique dining experience this may be worth a couple extra bucks. I am not sure how true this place is to authentic Indian food, but as a rookie I found all of their dishes strange and delightful. Mango lassi drink was great for clearing the palette and working you through the heat or spiciness of a dish. The atmosphere is great. The buffet is insane in my opinion... it comes in at around 18 bux but its the tastiest buffet in town IMO. More...
Got some delivery and it came in 50 minutes and was so delicious. Just what I needed on a crappy day in Binghamton after 3 days of clouds and rain on a Sunday for dinner. Would recommend it to anyone in the mood for some Indian Cuisine. Gonna have to explore the menu some more, I played it safe with the meat samosas and the Chicken Tikka Masala which were both fantastic, however they have a large menu and looking forward to sampling much much more. More...
Menu prices were a little on the high side but the lunch buffet was great! If the quality of the dinner entrees are as good as the buffet, the price seems well worth it! Service was excellent as well. Maybe a little formal for this location but that is a small criticism. More...
First time we as a family we ate at a Indian Cuisine. The service was fantastic and the food was fabulous! I highly recommend!
I would go here every day if I could afford it. Everything is absolutely delicious. My vegetarian friend was thrilled about the multitude of options. The atmosphere here is great. This place is beautiful! Service was not bad and the food was great also. I recommend sitting by the fish tank.
My fiancée and I came for an early Valentine's day dinner together, and we're glad we did. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed, and the food was delicious. We can't recommend it enough if you're looking for a different experience than the same 'ol chain restaurant! More...
Love the lunch buffet! Food is fresh and tasty. Table service friendly. Decor is comfortable.
Great food, very nice atmosphere and good prices!! I will continue coming here for a long time!!
Maybe the best chicken korma I've ever had. Their lamb dishes are great too. Cool interior, great service, easily my favorite restaurant in Vestal.
We love this place. I mean it. The people are gracious. The food is excellent. There is an interesting range of dishes. We are from Manhattan and you are lucky to find Indian this good there!Delivery service is great. We are about 10 minutes away; the drivers are always polite and kind. We had a large group in from out of town and ordered delivery and everyone, I mean every single one of us was just thrilled. Everyone gushed. In fact, I just talked to one of our guests that other day and she asked about Moghul. Seriously, she did.Eat there. You will be so happy you did. More...
The food here is amazing. Easily one of my favorite restaurant in the area. The only problem is that it's also one of the most expensive restaurants in the area. The menu selection is quite a treat, and the serving size is usually just right. Depending on what you order, you might feel a bit jipped, but that seems normal these days. Drinks menu is pretty good if you're after a nice cocktail. The wine selection is average, but definitely marked up too much. The staff is always pleasant and helpful, and the location and decor is great too. Overall, it's a must try. More...
Easily my favourite restaurant in the Binghamton/Vestal area (and I have eaten at almost all of them) The food is authentic and tasty, the atmosphere romantic, the wine list is good (try the Kim Crawford) and the service second to none. Many of the reviews here say that Moghul is expensive - I beg to differ! Where else can you get a main course for as little as $12? And if you really want a full belly try the daily lunch buffet for around $15 you will leave happy although you won't be able to button your pants for a week! Unless your tastes run to the local burger joint this place is a must (especially on date night). More...
Best Indian Cuisine Restaurant in the Binghamton area. The environment was extremely clean, nice and had a great sense of Indian culture which was inspired in the design of the place. The service was remarkable and the food was so good. Couldn't ask for more. Also, the lunch buffet at $12 is a great plus. Well done Moghul! More...
This is truly wonderful Indian cuisine, served in a lovely setting with a friendly and solicitous wait staff. I have recommended this restaurant to many as the best in the area. Personal favorite dishes include the Chilean sea bass cooked in the tandori oven (two pieces, large portion), any of the saag dishes, the tandoori chicken, and the biryani. The mango and pistachio ice cream desserts are special. I also frequent on a weekly or semi-weekly basis the lunch buffet, which is, not surprisingly, excellent and varied from day-to-day. Highly recommended! More...
Randomly chose this place while returning from Niagara falls. Very authentic feel of restaurant. Great service and even greater food.
Went with my sister and had a wonderful meal. The wait-staff are super friendly. Good portion sizes and everything was so flavorful! The wait for food was a little longer than normal and that's the only reason for not giving 5 stars. Left with a doggie bag and will certainly be back to sample more items off of their extensive menu. More...
Came in and decided to just grab the lunch buffet to go. I got so much food and it was only 11 bucks! Food was great and so cheap!
The food is descent here and portions are adequate. Service is not that great but I wouldn't expect more from Indians. I've never received superb service at any Indian restaurants. I guess it's a cultural thing. Naan is awesome. More...
Great food! Nice ambiance ... Chicken Tikka is good. Really the best place to get Indian food in town !
I love the food and the decor at Moghul. The curries are well seasoned, the rice is light and tasty and the naan is to die for! Some favorites include lasuni gobi to start, this spicy crispy fried cauliflower is reminiscent of vegetarian buffalo wings! I also love the samosas both vegetarian and meat. The bar is well stocked and the specialty drinks are fun. I do deduct 1 star because the service...is...so...slow! Also the prices are a bit expensive for the area and the portion size, I wish the entrees were bigger so there are leftovers to keep the experience going! More...
I promised a yelp review in exchange for free lamb platter with rice, potatoes and some curry. I had it at BU marketplace, not at the restaurant at UP. I work at the marketplace and I have to say without a doubt this is one the finer places to grab a meal on campus. I would give the restaurant at UP 5 stars but the marketplace's restaurant was of slightly lower quality. Maybe it's because I went when they were closing but without a doubt it's great food. More...

Favorite Indian place, hands down! You can't go wrong with any of the dishes, especially the chicken. Chicken tikka, chicken makhani, chicken kabab (appetizer), veg samosa, lamb seekh kabab, saag paneer, and the naan are to die for ♡. The ras malai and gulab jamun are my favorite desserts. More...

It wasn't as spicy as the first time. The time it takes you to get your food varies greatly. The first time, I had to wait close to an hour to get it. The second time, it took around 20 minutes. I love Indian food. I can get consistently good food here. The spicing of the sauces varies by who is running the back of house, but it is always tasty. The only major downside is that it does take awhile for foods to be served. If you are on a time table then plan in extra time for your meal. More...
Went here last week with some friends. Great service! Dressed casual but you could dress up and fit right in with the white linen table cloths and napkins. Ordered Masala Dosa and the Vegetable Platter to start. The vegetable platter was ok- light batter fried vegetables with delicious sauces. The masala dosa was amazing though! You could order it as a small plate and it would absolutely fill you up. For entrees, we ordered the Chicken Korma and the Lamb Rogan Josh. Chicken korma was creamy, nutty and delicious. The lamb sauce was good, the lamb itself a bit tough/ We also ordered the garlic naan. This was plenty of food for three people!- I would go with a group and order a bunch of stuff to try. More...
Greeted promptly as we walked in and seated within 1 minute. We started with mango lassi- as good as I've ever had it. Our appetizer was Lasuni Gobi, lightly breaded and fried cauliflower in a spicy sauce. I was dubious, but my dinner guest was vegetarian so we ordered this. AMAZING!! It was the best thing I ate all night. I could have just eaten this for the whole meal and been satisfied. We also had a Samosa Chat that was terribly tasty. The main course consisted of Lamb Madras and Kofta Malai. They were wonderful. Good strong spicy flavor without being overpowering. Garlic naan and Onion Kulcha were the breads we used to sop up the tasty concoctions. The rice was better than average Basmati rice that had been spruced up with herbs and vegetables. Dessert was a cup of traditional Indian Chai tea and a large bowl of kheer with slivered almonds. I wish there were pistachios in it, but you can't have everything in life. The visual presentation of the food almost made it a shame to eat it. The portion sizes were generous and we did not go away hungry. The server and waiter were very nice and helpful. Not only did they help us choose the right items, but we were able to actually communicate with them. We learned that one was from Punjab and another from Manipur. The fact that they spent extra time with us means a lot to me. I will NOT patronize a restaurant regularly if I don't feel like I'm valued as a person as well as a customer. The prices were appropriate for the quantity and quality.I loved everything about this place, and in the immortal words of the Terminator, "I'll be back!" More...
I have been craving Indian food for some time now and unfortunately, Vestal/Binghamton doesn't have much of a selection when it comes to Indian cuisine. After going through withdrawals for way too long, I went to Moghul to satisfy my craving. I forgot how fancy the restaurant was and had wished I wasn't in my sweaty gym clothes. The decor is really nice; when you first enter there is a waterfall-like fountain behind the host stand and if you look up, there is also ceiling art of a starry night. The waitstaff is very friendly and professional. They were prompt in taking orders and made sure our water glasses were never empty. We ordered Kandhari Naan which is naan stuffed with cashew nuts, raisins, and a type of cheese. It was fresh and very flavorful although my vote still goes to the garlic naan. Then for my main entree, I ordered lamb pasanda. It was very good and the lamb was perfectly cooked. The cream sauce from the lamb pasanda with the basmati rice was such a great combination of flavors! Overall, I would recommend this dish but I wish they had given a little more lamb. At the end of our meal, they gave a complimentary mango dessert. Even though I am not one for dessert, it was pretty good and not too sweet. The downside of the restaurant is the bill at the end. It is a bit on the price-y side but if you are looking to satisfy an Indian food craving then this is the place to go to. More...
I've been here several times, eating in the restaurant and at catered events. Every time the food is consistently delicious, the waitstaff is extremely polite and professional. I DREAM of the cauliflower appetizer its amazing, crunchy cauliflower in a spicy tomato based sauce: delish! Chicken jalfrezi (chicken curry) spicy and well-balanced in flavor. The naan is always fresh and perfectly cooked, yes it's pricey but its worth it! More...
The Samosas are unreal. Very good service.
Best Restaurant in Vestal/Binghamton.The Lunch Buffet is a dream come true. Plenty of Vegetarian dishes in addition to numerous Chicken dishes. Always a fish course at end of buffet. If you're Lucky the dessert on the buffet will be the Mango Mousse.... It is possibly one of the best sweet things I've ever tasted... Apparently the chef is a master of the cuisine, and it shows... Go here for sure. Don't mind the college kids. They're cool. More...
This is a good indian restaurant. I have been there during the buffet and during regular hours. Both times I love their food. Love the garlic naan bread. Love their decor and ambiance. Their servers are awesome. For the buffet, I wish they have more dessert. Coz I think they only had one when I was there. But overall, definitely check out the place. More...
Go to Moghul Indian Cuisine. My family loves Indian food and thought this place was great. This is NOT factory-made Indian food emptied into chafing dishes.Fresh hot naan and tandoori chicken were included in the buffet and delivered to our table. The resident vegetarian among us rates the lunch buffet as excellent. The veggie dishes included aloo Palak, lentils, veggies in sauce and shaved carrots seasoned with cardamom. Every veggie dish was delicious, full of flavor, well-seasoned and the favors blended wonderfully. The carnivores in the party thought the chili chicken was very tasty but quite spicy. The other chicken dishes were tasty and not too hot. There was a beef dish which was well received. The decor is beautiful and the restaurant has a very swanky feel. The staff was very friendly and our small children felt right at home. More...
I really love Indian food and this place is really good for the area. I was a little surprised when I came here. I wasn't expecting this kind of quality of Indian food in Vestal. The curries were excellently spiced and the flavors were well mixed. I really love the garlic naans. I could eat those all day. The only thing that threw me off was that I thought it was a little pricier than it should be, but this is probably the best Indian food in the area, so.... kind of a tradeoff, but one you won't regret. Great food, service, and atmosphere. Little pricier than I thought it should be, but won't stop me from returning
By far, the food taste out of this world, I've been to Indian restaurants in nyc, Chicago, and places in nj, the food here taste fantastic. The place feels exotic and the people are great. This is a must see restaurant for any one seeking mild, med, and my favorite spicy Indian food (vegetarian and also non-veg) More...
Saturday Night Dinner: Food was excellent. Had Chicken Korma, tender chicken in a flavorful cream sauce, and Lamb Madras, which seemed slow-cooked (not too "lamb-y") in a spicy meat sauce. Portions were generous, one doggie bag required. Chose Paneer Naan for the bread - mmmm, very good. Appetizer Rashmi Kabob was "eh", wouldn't order that again. Seemed like a fried burger patty. Should have gone with a crepe or pastry appetizer, which looked good at another table. Wait staff was friendly and readily available. Gave us an "on the house" dessert - some kind of mocha ice cream (but firm). I was already stuffed, but found room! Next table got it also. Beautiful atmosphere and decor. More...
This place is fantastic! The food is absolutely delicious, it's got cute decor. The only thing I'm not super in love with is the prices. What can you do? The chana masala is lovely, I always look forward to coming here. More...
This restaurant is pretty decent. We went there for the lunch buffet and the service was great. We were seated and directed to grab the food from the buffet section. They also asked if we wanted to get tandoori chicken, which they brought out fresh from the kitchen to each individual table. They also brought fresh naan to the table, which was great. The food looked really good. There was some salad and lots of chutneys available. The rice was delicious. They food was also really good. Everything tasted fresh and had its own flavor. There was also a desert option available. Overall, the food is really good here. I've been here once for dinner about three years ago and it was good then as well. It's definitely a good place to get Indian food.P.S. The food during the buffet isn't spicy to keep it appropriate for the people in the area. So if you like your food spicy, try the mint chutney. I am especially picky about Indian food and I was pleased with the weekday lunch buffet at Moghul's. Although the food wasn't spicy at all (I prefer a medium kick) it was seasoned well and tasty. The variety of dishes at the buffet was decent and the area was set up nicely. What sets this restaurant from other buffets that I've visited is the fresh tandoori chicken and baskets of naan and roti. Rather than having two containers for the chicken and breads, they bring out hot portions to order and are included in the buffet! I did not try the tandoori chicken, but the naan and roti that I tried were soft and cooked well. The only negative aspect of my experience, besides the lack of heat in the buffet, is the dark environment of the restuarant. Modhul's is decorated nicely, but I found it a bit too dark. Since it was a nice day out and with the color of the dishes, I prefer a bit more light inside the establishment. But all in all, I had a great meal and will be going back soon. More...
This is quite possibly my favorite restaurant in the area. The food and service is always amazing and the establishment is very clean and beautiful. The servers are very helpful with the menu if one isn't familiar with Indian cuisine, which is really nice. The prices are a little high, but since it's the best Indian in town, it's worth it. I highly suggest checking out their beautiful bar as well! More...
Nice place the food is good love the cauliflower fry very good.
Good Indian Food. Though not much choice for vegetarian. Ask them to make extra spicy if you want authentic indian food.
Very nice for a smaller community. Nicely decorated. Friendly service. Good tasting food. Would eat here again.
Ah, Moghul. Nice atmosphere, pretty swanky for the Binghamton area. The bar is nice (although not a great beer selection) and is thankfully devoid of fratty undergrads. I am no connoisseur of Indian food or anything but I really like everything I've had there. The Chicken Vindaloo and the Chicken Tikka Masala are personal favorites of mine. I will warn you...if you don't like spicy food, make sure to tell them, as these entrees can really pack some heat. The mulligatawny soup is tasty and comes complimentary with purchase of an entree. Moghul used to have a lunch buffet which I thought was awesome. Only $10 and all-you-can-eat. It gave me the opportunity to sample all sorts of Indian food I otherwise would not have ever tried, and I found some new favorites that way. Unfortunately they discontinued it about a year ago. When I went for lunch the other day, the lunch menu was the exact same as the dinner menu. It's a little on the pricey side so beware of that. It may not stand up to the better Indian places in a larger city, but overall, I give Moghul high marks! More...
One of my favorite restaurants in the area! The menu is full of interesting choices and I wasn't sure what to order the first time. I went with the chicken kebab masala. Try it! It's delicious and definitely something I look forward to when I go. The unique bread and sauce they serve while waiting is quite tasty. Also the decor is fantastic. Very warm, inviting and romantic. so the five stars is mostly because this is BY FAR the best place to eat in all of Vestal. i've been coming here since it opened and even met the owner who was incredibly gracious. the service isn't bad but all the servers i dealt with all seemed very disinterested. the prices are a little high for the area but i think the food is totally worth it and i ALWAYS have leftovers. (you may want to try their lunch buffet - great deal for teh amount of food you're getting, and you can dabble in various dishes) the vegetable samosas are always the first thing i order - LOVE the green and dark brown sauce that comes with them. The paneer tikka masala and the matter paneer are my favorite entrees. (im vegetarian so can't review any meat dishes for you.. but no complaints from my animal eating friends who've been here either) I've noticed that the price often correlates to how hearty the dish will be, at least in the vegetarian curry section of the menu. MULLIGATAWNY soup - meh... i can make a way better lentil soup. this one is too thick and after the first taste you lose interest. mango lassi is pretty standard. ooh also, make sure to order a side of naan so you can dip it in the sauce you're bound to have left over from your entree. i LOVE the star lights in the ceiling and the tables/booths but the rest of the decor is really too much. also... the host wearing a sari is laughable, and no one is buying it so please just let them wear all black. I thought this place was great, mainly because it offers an alternative to the chain-restaurants on Vestal Parkway. Very pleasant ambiance, solid Indian fare. The Mulligatawny soup was good. The prices are a bit high, the Taj Mahal beer was pretty good. The chicken tikka masala dish was different from how I have had it before but still tasty. Overall, a fun, different place to eat in these parts. More...
I am giving this restaurant a five-star rating with the caveat that this is in comparison to other restaurants in Binghamton. This is a very good Indian restaurant for Binghamton, but it would be middle-of-the-pack in a larger city.We particularly like the tandoori chicken (rather small), the lamb saag (much better than the chicken saag which is on the menu), and the almond-flavored chicken dish whose name I cannot remember. Of the appetizers, the grilled chicken wings are outstanding, and the meat samosas are very good. I usually enjoy the mulligatawny soup; however, its flavor is variable. The lunchtime buffet (Mon - Sat) is extensive and very good. The restaurant also has takeout for those days when you just don't feel like cooking.Although located in a strip mall, the interior decor is very nice. More...
Moghul was fascinating to my wife and I. Everything about it was unexpected (both good and bad) and filled with contradictions. To start, Moghul is nestled in a recently built strip mall that houses Binghamton University student dorms. It's surrounded by your standard strip mall fare - Cold Stone Creamery, Jenny Craig, Army Recruiting Office, etc. Immediately one would expect the interior to be bland and un-interesting. Surprise #1 - excellent interior design. Its a little over-the-top, but Moghul has a hip-upscale vibe going for it, which is much appreciated in Binghamton.Surprise #2 is how expensive the menu is. Granted you can legitmately charge more for hip-upscale dining, especially when university students are your major demographic. But a basic Indian dish for $20 Higher end Indian restaurants in Los Angeles don't even charge that. But on other hand, where else in the southern tier are you going to fine hip-upscale Indian dining? So its a captive marketplace. Onto the food. Decent. I got the Goat Masala, which was piping hot both in temp and spices (I asked for extra spice). Lots of goat bones in there, but I've never had Goat Masala before, so if its normal or not, I'm not sure. My wife got a Chicken Curry dish, and unforunately, it came out luke warm. The kitchen didn't get their timing right. Our garlic Naan also came out luke warm and a little stiff from sitting around. The service was slow despite it being a Wednesday. I'm sure the place is packed on Friday/Saturday nights and I would hope the restaurant steps up its service those nights. Because if Wednesday was any indication, big crowds = super long waits for service and food. Despite some of the negative elements of the experience, I think my wife and I will be going back to Moghul. Sometimes you just need some ethnic cuisine in a hip-upscale environment, and while its not the best Indian food I've ever had, it definitely gets the job done to satiate an Indian food craving. It's worth checking out, but be prepared to pay way more than you'd expect. More...
