My husband and I have a very anxious, neurotic (and handsome) doggo. He’s highly dog reactive and energetic and has a troubled past. We’ve tried several trainers and boarding facilities in various cities and states. We even resorted to trying a famous YouTube trainer and he came back worse and even more anxious. Typically, these expensive “board and trains” we’ve participated in have ended with medication recommendations and a “good luck”. One final trainer recommended we try Mind Of Dog because she also wasn’t able to break through. I’m so grateful we did. He’s thriving and comes home exhausted. An added bonus is the people training we’ve received. The best part of all of it, is that he’s finally getting the exercise and structure he’s always needed and deserves.

They handle the dogs calmly, but with lots of structure and clear boundaries, which our dog desperately needs.

We can finally go to work and travel without worrying that he’s being mishandled or ignored.

We’re so grateful to have found this place and I have to admit, I was waiting for him to fail again, because we had lost all hope.

I highly recommend that you give Mind Of Dog a shot, especially if you’re in a similar position as we were.

Thanks, Mind of Dog! Senna loves you all and is so grateful to be able to play with dogs without fear and anxiety.

Their training took my loony tunes Pit mix and made him a chill guy. I still send him once a week to play with his buddies.

Danielle and Kyle have been great in turning around my neurotic 6 yr old Carolina hound, Thor. He’s so much calmer with me, other dogs, and his surroundings in general. After 3 weeks of training, the improvement is incredible! He’s really tuned in to me and is quick to respond to direction. I plan to continue with him participating in day care as the benefits are immeasurable! Thank you both and woof! More...

I can't say enough good things about Mind of Dog! We have a super active mini-Aussie, who needs a lot more exercise than we can give her during the workday. The days we drop her off at Mind of Dog, she always comes home happy and calm. The training session in the beginning was also a huge benefit for us and our dog. I completely trust Danielle and Kyle to treat my dog like she is their own, and when I board her with them I know she is well taken care of and most likely having more fun on the farm than at home! I saw their pictures and thought I would let them work with my dog. Sent my private telephone number to Danielle, got an estimate and Danielle never contacted me back. Now I tried again to get a date for my dog and I was insulted and guess what,Danielle wants more money. Good luck to you because I will never beg them anymore. I can’t believe people can post awesome pictures of their job and be so rude when it’s time to close a deal. More...

Love Mind of Dog! My pup, Matros, loves spending the day with Danielle, Kyle and their pup gang. He comes home totally tuckered out and has the greatest time with the other dogs. The owners are kind and very patient with the dogs- they help train them as they socialize, which has helped my dog from pulling on his leash. Can’t recommend them enough! More...

Mind of Dog has been beyond a great dog walking/training experience for my beagle Gracie and I. This is such a unique service and the owners are spot on with knowing how to give dogs what they need. Exercise, boundaries, consistency and love. And us humans get to relax and see daily pics and posts of the beautiful trails and places the dogs are walking. I had seen positive changes in Gracie after only a day with them. She is an anxious rescue pup. And Kyle and Danielle were super accommodating with addressing her issues one on one. I have the highest regard for what they do to help dogs and owners learn how to make life less stressful and more peaceful. They are amazing! Have your dog join the pack, you won’t regret it! We have a 70 lb Ridgeback mix with a ton of energy named Louise. She is super affectionate with the people she knows, but used to have a lot of anxiety around new people. Our family had a wedding out of state and we were trying to find a place for Louise to board, and we were striking out. Louise would growl defensively and nip if anyone approached her, she would also leave quite the mess. We kept getting turned down. Until we found Mind of Dog. Lou and I went for an introductory walk with Kyle and Danielle where they familiarize you with their dog handling philosophy. We signed up for a 2 week training program. Day 1 at the drop off, Lou peed on Kyle's sneakers and tried to bite him. I figured that was that. I'll never forget what happened next, because I literally tell the story all the time, Kyle just looked up at me with a smile on his face and joked, "She's got a pretty low bite inhibition!" And then off they went. Louise was posing for photos later that day. Like, amazing. Louise just needed people who were willing to wait out the anxious behavior long enough to get to know the big affectionate puppy underneath. We've been bringing Louise for daycare and sleep overs ever since. Incorporating their approach of how to provide rules and structure and using a considerate balance of praise and correction, Lou has become more responsive and less intrusive, plus her anxiety with strangers and at the vet has gotten better. These past holidays, everyone in the family commented on how well behaved Louise was. I mean, she's still a bull in a china shop, but she holds it together so much better these days! We are forever grateful to these guys. Really cannot be effusive enough. They provide an invaluable service. I recommend them to everyone! More...

We were amazed by how much the Mind of Dog program improved our dog's life and our entire family's relationship with our dog.  Despite knowing their incredible reputation, we'd previously been hesitant to do their program because we thought that our dog only had a few minor issues and we didn't really understand that those anxiety problems could be addressed with training.  To us, before we knew better, "dog boot camp" programs were only needed for serious cases of scary aggressive dogs and might be overboard for us.  Notwithstanding our hesitations and concerns that training for our dog was unnecessary and a waste of money, we decided to at least go listen to their free consultation.  After their consultation pitch we quickly decided to give Kyle and Danielle a shot to see if their program would help with our dog with her small issues.  It turned out to be among the best decisions that we've ever made.  Over the three week program that we did, Kyle and Danielle explained things to us that we were previously completely misinterpreting, transformed our dog in a remarkably positive way, and most importantly they educated us on how to improve our relationship with our dogs.  This new understanding that they gave us about how dogs think will benefit us not only with our current dogs but in the way we approach dog ownership forever.  The Mind of Dog program taught us things that I very much regret not knowing earlier.  Our whole lives, the way we were interacting with our dogs was causing them anxiety and discomfort that is avoidable.  I can not overstate how huge of a positive impact that Mind of Dog had on us.  They not only trained our dog, but they taught us the proper relationship between our dogs and us as the owners.  I strongly recommend that you at least attend one of their free consultation sessions and listen to what they have to say.  The earlier you enroll your dog in their program, the better. Danielle responds promptly and is willing to take the time and walk you through the plan and schedule. They are flexible for dropoff or pickups if my schedule gets funky. Kyle was super helping me to have realistic expectations with my rescue and to better understand the dynamics of the mind of the dog. He trained me as much (maybe more)! To say that Kyle, Danielle and David are excellent at what they do would be an understatement. I by accident came upon their recommendation from Thumbtack in June 2015 as I was searching for a local trainer for my not properly socialized, aggressive GDS/Lab mix baby boy. I had another trainer that he and his sister were going to but for whatever reason the trainer did not have the time to train Nico so feeling disheartened and upset I started searching for Nico's trainer especially since Nico bonded so well with the former trainer. Danielle was the first one to contact me via email and was very informative and personable.
Kyle came and meet Nico and discussed the best course of action for Nico as we all agreed he needed to just be a dog and enjoy his "doghood'. I can go on and on about this wonder team but what made me decide to make them family members was: Nico got very sick into his third day of training-Kyle called me right away and we thought he was dehydrated and depressed because he was away from home. Of course this all happened when my family was on Holiday and I was alone at work and could not leave my office-i was a wreck not knowing what was wrong with my baby boy. Kyle and Danielle took it upon themselves with my permission to take him to their local vet who suggested that Nico go to the emergency hospital. I told Kyle that i will be there as soon as I can to take Nico but it would not be until 5:00pm. Kyle and Danielle took Nico to the hospital as they did not want to wait and stayed with him until I could leave. When I went to the hospital and after getting his best guess prognosis the doctor turned to me and said "if you can update the trainers as they were very worried". Nico was in the hospital for 9 days and every single day Danielle and Kyle contacted me to find out about Nico. Danielle suggested healthy alternatives for Nico-bottom line my aggressive, non socialized pup looks forward to seeing David every time he goes for sleepovers and play dates. I would recommend them as they proved to me that they care for my pups as they were their own. Sorry for the long post but I wanted to let you know how I feel.

We brought our timid rottie, Tank, to Mind of Dog back in June 2016. I've been intentionally waiting to write this review to let the "honey moon" phase wear off and see if I felt the same way over a year later. I can say without a doubt, we continue to be just as grateful for Danielle, Kyle, and Dave as we were on the day one.

We went for the free walk in Randolph on a Saturday morning to learn about their philosophy and mindset towards treating dogs, taking care of them, etc. The moment they took Tank's leash without any hesitation and walked him to the front of the pack (mind you he's NOT social towards strangers and other dogs), I knew we found our tribe.

We've grown as dog owners and trainers, and Tank continues to grow more comfortable in his own skin. Not to mention that we were able to show them we are committed to our dogs growth and development and they were willing to watch Tank when we go away. Not only is their service worth far more than they charge, but the peace of mind we have that Tank is in good hands when we go away is simply invaluable.

Danielle's communication and thorough responses whenever I reach out is incredible. We've worked with other trainers and facilities in the past and NO ONE has come close to her responsiveness. You can tell how much she cares for the dogs and is fully aware typical concerns and worries every owner has.

On a less vital note, I've grown slightly addicted to their daily photos of dogs, and I find myself refreshing their FB and Instagram at the end of each day to see our Tank hanging with his crew. So I encourage anyone and everyone to seriously consider Mind of Dog to help with your dog and care for them. No matter how small or large the behavioral issue, I believe they can handle it.

Thanks again!

Kyle, Danielle, and David have been great with our dog Kaya. She's a rescue dog and has a lot of trust issues with other dogs and some people. Kyle really hit home with us on the consultation and really modified how we walk Kaya and put our relationship with her into perspective. Danielle is very prompt and attentive with any questions we have, and David is a very nice guy. It seems like these people genuinely love what they do and go out of their way to do what is best for the dog first. My wife and I are both in the service industry and appreciate that Mind Of Dogs staff are focused on serving the animals. Kyle works to give the dog a happier social standard rather than treat based behavior modification, something which sets the tone for a life long learning process in how to control and manage your dogs social skills and something that I as an educator strongly agree with. They seem to not be after quick fixes and duct tape patches, but rather a complete overhaul of your dogs social perception inside and outside the home. The group hike photos never cease to amaze us as we see our dog, who for the past few years has been incapable of interaction with other dogs, is joyfully engaging with new friends every walk. Words can't express how meaningful their work has been to us! Since starting her work with Mind of Dog, Kaya has behaved much better on our family walks, including an almost instant end to pulling (she needs a gentle reminder here and there but mostly doesn't pull anymore) to a diminished aggressive response to "canine strangers". Highly recommended! More...

David, Kyle, and Danielle at Mind of Dog truly are miracle workers.  We recently adopted a dog who had severe trust issues, and did not particularly care for people petting her.  She will violently attack her tail if she becomes too anxious.  Peekaboo was in foster care for over a year, and the fosters warned us that we may be bit if we touched her.  Mind of Dog took a scared little pup who had the potential to become violent, and had her on her side and receiving pets within hours of meeting her, without a single outburst.  After only two weeks with Mind of Dog, our new addition now seeks out snuggle time, and not once has she acted in an aggressive manner toward us since she's been working with Mind of Dog.  Kyle, Danielle, and David are amazing individuals, and would HIGHLY recommend them for caring for your fur babies.  We are truly grateful to have them in our lives.
