We highly recommend Miller Interior Design--Keith offers a rare blend of artistic inspiration, careful integration, and pure joy in design. He has the ability to lift a built space into an experience of color, texture and life. His approach is thoughtful, compassionate, and yet manages to thoroughly guide a project to its goal with a strong sense of leadership. And you absolutely will enjoy every second of the ride! There is no one I've encountered in building who can carry a concept forward with more enthusiastic determination--this is no small thing: Keith is acutely aware of the realities of a budget and yet doesn't lose sight of the richness good design brings to our lives. Keith has worked with us on a number of projects related to our non-profit (an historic landmark church building), primarily internal renovations and configuration-of-space improvements, but also color schemes for exterior work (the latter of which won an award from Historic Seattle in 2012). He is, in a word, brilliant, and I want to qualify that in two respects. One aspect of his brilliance is in the functional vision-to-execution capacity he has for a wide range and scale of projects: from small-scale "this is what we have to work with and can you please make it better" improvements, to large start-to-finish "dream" scale projects -- such as our building's long-term centennial renovation project. His capacity to "see" what is possible/desirable (to envision, to communicate and to bring about) is remarkable. The other way we experience his brilliance is in his skills in working with people, navigating the complex mix of personal preferences, budgets, circumstantial constraints, etc., with a sincere, artful care. We have seen both these dynamics repeatedly in Keith's work with friends and community members as well, and the genuine satisfaction and improvement of quality of life that results. More...

We hired Keith to design our wedding ceremony space. We gave him a lot of creative license (we were too busy to provide specific design requests) but only a small budget -- and he completely blew us away with his creativity, his hard work, and his great attitude even under pressure. Keith was very good at intuiting our styles and tastes (nature-loving / hippy / tropical). He was able to design and install the space within our timeframe. Best of all, he was such a joy to work with -- cheerful, accommodating, professional -- I highly recommend Keith for any size project. More...

There are a lot of hard working interior designers out there. A few of these might have an eye for aesthetics or an artistic flair. A very select number of practitioners are blessed with both a true gift of design vision and the professional skills to carry a project through successful implementation. Keith Miller is one of these elite individuals – a leader in the field, both by results and reputation!

I’ve known Keith for several years, but we only started collaborating recently on a residential project to personalize my urban living space. I immediately loved Keith’s breadth and depth of ideas. After learning just a bit about my tastes, he was able to propose several attractive options and leverage his extensive network of creative experts to deliver a design that is both visually compelling and physically inviting.

Bottom line – I love my home and enthusiastically recommend Keith for engagement!

I hired Keith for a short consult and was amazed at how much good helpful advice I got in a mere four hours. Not only did I get fabulous ideas about paint and furniture lay out, but I got a unique and interesting Idea (drawings included) about how to make the most of an island in the great room and use a structural post that couldn't leave as an architectural interest piece. All to say, Keith is full of great ideas. He's polite, enthusiastic, warm and he doesn't waste time. If I had more financial freedom, I would hire Keith to help me with my whole project from beginning to end. Just the four hours I had his help was worth every penny! More...

We had a great experience with Ben and his crew. They did a complete remodel of our kitchen. It turned out beautifully. One aspect of working with Blue Sound that I really appreciate is the communication and planning. They did an excellent job of putting a time line together, and keeping me apprised of progress. We have an older house, and when unexpected things turned up, we were promptly notified and possible options were discussed. They were professional and delightful to work with. It has been said already, but it is really true of BSC; they are honest and professional - a company with true integrity. When I describe our experience to others, they don't believe a remodel experience can be so easy and pleasant. With BSC it is. It is common to feel a sense of gratification when finishing a remodel project, but wanting to do it all over again is unusual. I have been very happy working with Blue Sound Construction. Ben (owner) is very customer service oriented, honest and trustworthy. He has hired a crew that has a solid skill set and they do high end construction. When I first met Ben, he was one of three companies that I interviewed and his bid was the middle one. The bid was well organized and as in any remodel, there were surprises along the way that were dealt with as swiftly as possible and they stayed on top of any changes regarding the budget.
Our first phase with BSC was three bathroom remodels, moving a laundry room to the basement and adding a new bedroom on the main level. We lived in the house while all this was being done and they were very respectful working around us and always kept the jobsite very clean at the end of each workday. We are very satisfiied with the work they did for us and are about to begin another project with them. I have recommended Blue Sound Construction to our family and friends. Call Ben and see for yourself!

My family and I moved from the D.C. area to Lakewood WA. My wife and I are both in the Army and being stationed at Fort Lewis. As these things can be very stressful I decided to surprise her when we get there with a house that is completely set up. Normally we would have to get there and unpack all of our belongings and put things where they need to be. A time consuming, exhausting and stressful venture to say the least. I was not at all familiar with what interior designers have to offer so I looked on Google, found Keith Miller, and decided it wouldn't hurt to send an email to see if he would be interested in helping with my project. From the very first email, he has been nothing but helpful and professional. We discussed a few main points and then I realized I needed to let him know I was on a pretty firm budget to get the things that we discussed accomplished. He tailored our discussions accordingly, told me what he could do for my money but more importantly didn't treat me any differently when he realized I couldn't spend money recklessly. After what seemed to be 100 emails and a few phone calls and texts, Keith went to the property I will be moving to so he could scope out the situation. I sent him a list of measurements of our furniture along with a quick video so he could see what he would have to work with. Within a few days I had pictures, videos and a diagram of how he saw all of my things going into our new home.

Keith has given me numerous options with a very well thought out, detailed plan that included pictures, links, graphic renderings of the house along with his ideas for making it all come together.

It's not only the professionalism that I enjoy but also the genuine caring attitude he has taken towards me and my family. He spent what must have been hours writing me an email with ideas for our trip across the country. I was completely blown away.

Keith has taken what is normally an extremely stressful situation for military families (we have a 2 year old) and made it something to look forward to. I truly do consider him a friend. The bottom line is he is a really good person willing to go the extra mile for his customers.

The words I write cannot explain the debt that I feel towards him for what he has done for me and my family. I highly encourage anyone thinking about using an interior designer to contact Keith.

I can't give enough praise for Keith Miller. He is an outstanding individual as well as designer and a complete joy to work with. He helped us create our custom home from the ground up, assisting the architect with room design, determining paint colors for some intricate projects, designing the look and layout for cabinetry and appliances, assisting with determining light fixtures, finding appropriate tradespeople, providing guidance for design choices...there is not a spot in this house that does not have his signature on it. Through it all, Keith maintained his characteristic good humor and positive attitude. And this was no simple project. Our home, one of the greenest in the country, is a difficult small-lot waterfront custom home that has achieved LEED Gold status and won national and regional awards. At the risk of sounding over-dramatic Keith Miller is a life savior!! My decorating taste is definitely colonial and within 10 minutes of speaking with Keith I knew he “got” the look and I couldn’t be happier with the results.

We are nearing the completion of a 2 year whole home remodel and Keith’s involvement has been pivotal. Not only did he help me keep the colonial look, he also gently pushed me out of my comfort zone on a few items and the results are amazing. It takes a great relationship manager to know the boundaries and create a truly happy customer with stunning results.

I asked Keith to incorporate items from trips and gifts, etc into my decorating plan. I showed Keith a vase I had received full of flowers after my mother passed away. The glass vase is inexpensive but has great sentimental value. Keith treated that vase like it was gold and made it the centerpiece of an arrangement.

Words I would use to describe Keith: sense of humor, hilarious, honest, kind, good listener, respectful, and intelligent. Above all Keith is a man with great integrity. He comes with my highest personal and professional recommendations.

I used Blue Sound Construction for a kitchen renovation that took the original kitchen down to the studs and also moved a wall and a window, creating a dining room where our library used to be. Blue Sound Construction suggested design elements and worked with us every step of the way to create a space that did what we wanted it to. They worked through some big challenges -- such as a significantly sloping floor and ceiling -- to implement the vision. The result is beautiful, an open, airy, clean-looking space that is a cook's dream. Not only is the kitchen beautiful and functional, the whole main floor of the house looks open, airy and much larger than when we began. The flow of the floor works well and the rooms lead one into the other. I feel like our house has been transformed. Blue Sound Construction did a wonderful job.

The project took longer than we had expected (or been told to expect) but the end result was completely worth it. I would not hesitate to recommend Blue Sound Construction to anyone else.
