The food is delicious and had the BBQ comfort that you want. The new additions of the appetizers were also great. We got the the potato skins and they weren't too bad. Best BBQ in San Diego, in my opinion! Mike's is all-around awesome. They have two, very large dining rooms: the first one is in the bar area and has a lot of TV's. Good place to watch games and have a drink. The second dining room is self serve. You seat yourself, order at the register and pick up your food at the counter. This area is great when you have small kids. Now the food. This is the place to go for ribs. I'm a beef ribs guy and theirs are stupid. Mac and cheese, baked beans and BBQ wedge salads are what's up! Their portions are large; I can put away some food and always have leftovers from this place. It's been awhile since I've had it, but the trip tip is pretty good too. The desserts leave a little to be desired but you'll probably be too full from the good BBQ that it doesn't matter. Last time I was here was with 3 toddlers and 6 adults. It wasn't too busy on a saturday afternoon and the area was large enough that I didn't feel like the little monsters were bothering other diners. Mike's staff is super friendly and helpful. A wonderful restaurant with a very attentive and helpful staff, not to mention the great food. I had to wait in line a few minutes while a buffoon questioned everything on the menu claiming it was different from the time before and how he had not enjoyed his previous visit (then why return you simple-minded imbecile?
!) The cashier was very attentive and apologetic to the customer for their previous experience and did it all with a smile on his face.
My order; a brisket plate with a side of mac and cheese and a spicy hot dog was flavorful, filling, and quite satisfying all through out. Indeed a great place for BBQ in San Diego county

Had there Tuesday Special.. Pulled Pork Sandwich on your choice of bread, 1 side.(I get French fries.)They make there) and a pickle for $5. 00. Plenty of meat on sandwich with choice of 2 bbq sauces.
