I was so nervous when looking for a trainer. I used to value sleep over any physical activity. When I decided to look for a trainer finally I found Midtown Trainers. I was super nervous at first but Trey was super nice and answered all my questions. I decided right there on the spot to train with them. Trey was very careful and made sure to listen to my history so he could best help me. So I started doing the small group workouts and that’s where Trey paired me with Nicole! Nicole is amazing! She has helped mow reach so many goals! I have more energy and the most important thing of all is I actually look forward to come in and train. Midtown trainers is the best and worth every penny. I can’t say enough good things about Midtown Trainers. I feel so welcomed here. I came into the facility very overweight and with a high body fat % and was tired of being sick and tired. I had no idea what I was doing just knew I wanted to change my life and become healthy. I knew I wanted a judge free/private professional place to get fit and something tailored to MY current health situations as I do have fibromyalgia also..... A stress free zone so to speak for me to de stress and burn off some steam. I picked the right facility by coming here no doubt. Midtown Trainers have been life saving for me in so many ways. I love how the trainers keep in my mind MY current fitness level , health condition and overall health goals. It’s the easiest transition into becoming healthy that I’ve ever experienced and I’m 38. Pam is my trainer and she is great at tailoring the sessions personally for me. Pam is The Best ever! She is always attentive, prompt, organized, always set up and ready to go pushing me to do my best. Pam keeps all the exercises fresh and new so it’s exciting to work out. I’m always greeted with a smile and a good Morning which sets a positive tone. She’s very committed to my goals. She is very encouraging. I know my strength is improving my body does not ache and hurt as much, my joints crack less and my sleep has done a 360 improving a great deal. They do more than train here. Midtown Trainers is great. It;s just the jump start you need to get back to your healthy self. They work at your pace, understand what works best for you and even guide your eating habits. They are very encouraging as well. I lost 45lbs in 9 months. I didn't rate them at 5 stars because they are not equipped to change your clothes, they aren't any evening or weekend training opportunities and the staff transition wasn't messaged well. I still enjoyed working with them a lot and have the results to back that statement up. More...

I love Midtown Trainers for sooo many reasons such as private sessions, great parking, quite calm relaxed vibe! The list goes on and on but I really love the one on one attention to detail I get and how friendly and professional the trainers as well as the staff are. They are experts In the business with years of experience and it shows. They cover all phases of training so I don't have to do nothing but train :) and I love that they take the guess work out of it for me and I'm enjoying every session with Pam  and Matt that I have. They pay attention to detail and I trust them because they know what they are doing which is important to avoid injuries. I have been working with Trey at Midtown Trainers for a month, and I am very pleased with the focus and level of communication and professionalism that I have found with the entire team.In the previous 18 months, I had lost a significant amount of weight through diet and exercise on my own. However, I had plateaued and wanted to work with someone who could help me take my fitness and nutrition to a level that would challenge me and help me establish an advanced foundation for the rest of my life as I approach my 40th birthday.Trey and his team took time to see what was unique about my situation and the best way to improve the areas that were holding me back. While my nutrition and endurance were at good levels, my strength and coordination were lacking. Trey has slowly developed better balance and flexibility through a measured approach that has shown incremental improvements from week to week. I have also experienced improvement in my core strength that has led to improved times in distance and short mileage running.The biggest tool I have gained at Midtown is a clear picture of how my heart rate plays into the quality of my exercise and development. Because my heart rate is naturally low, I was not burning a lot of calories or developing strength running flat miles or logging time on an elliptical machine. Now, I actively monitor my heart rate to know exactly how my body is performing, and confidently push myself harder during everything from a trail run up a mountain or a spin class at the Y. Its not always the time I am putting in running or at the gym, it is what I am doing with that time that is helping me grow and achieve my goals.I would highly recommend Midtown Trainers to anyone who wants professional guidance in their fitness journey. What's best about Midtown is that they listen. They listen to your goals and needs, and take it into account when designing your workouts or even your dietary needs. I was very concerned about my form as I had a back injury. They not only made sure my form was safe, but also focused on increasing my lower back strength. I've been pain free for over a year now, and Midtown was a huge factor.This was only possible because of the 1 on 1, focused nature of their workout studio. The studio style setting meant they could customize every workout to your specific needs. They also carefully listened to all your concerns.
I had a bad back that was very sensitive to any exercises that involved my lower back.
Not only did they help alleviate the issue, they also ensured that the area would get stronger reducing the chance of it ever coming back again.
I truly appreciate what they've done for me as the pain was a serious barrier for my exercise and it no longer is a problem.

Some guys when they have their midlife crisis buy a sports car. Me, I decided to spend the rest of my life in good shape. After recovering from years of shoulder problems, I lacked upper body strength and had an impressive beer gut. My time in the "big box" gym was spent mostly doing mind-numbing cardio and waiting in line for machines and benches occupied by people staring at their phones. I knew I needed to try something different.I found Midtown Trainers in my online search results and it looked like just the kind of one-on-one training I had in mind. I scheduled an introductory session with Trey. ("Day One" as I call it.) I was concerned I was going to get a high-pressure sales pitch, but Trey immediately put that worry to rest. He was knowledgable, focused on my personal goals, and laid out all the options MT offers with consideration toward my schedule and budget.That was three months ago. I tell my friends who ask about my transformation that I didn't hire a trainer... I hired a TEAM of trainers. Because that's what it feels like working with Midtown Trainers. I've been receiving training three days a week by Trey and on occasion by other experienced and professional trainers - they are all amazing. I started with Trey now five years ago! My goals: to forever be healthy so that I can alpine ski into my 80's with no aches and pains. While I manage my own nutrition program, the one-on-one training guidance of Trey provides me with optimal strength training in a manner that more fully builds my muscles and reduces the chance I will injure myself. I am also now running 45-minutes or so during my off training days with ease. This is a big deal for me since previously I hated running. When working out on my own I had no problem getting to the gym before 5 a.m. everyday...however I was sloppy in that I stuck to the same routines and became dependent upon machines. Considering I arrive at Midtown Trainers at 5:00 a.m. to run on treadmill for 15-minutes...I have to really like the people I'm working out with...this early in the morning is before my first cup of coffee! To say Midtown Trainers is a game changer is an understatement - Trey and his team are truly life changers! I have never been an athlete, but a few years ago I ventured into running to try to become healthier and lose weight.Shortly after I started running, I worked my way up to completing 2 Marathons and dozens of Half Marathons, but with all the success in racing, I never saw any weight loss that I desired. Determined to get results, I joined Midtown Trainers in March of this year. Within 3 short months, through intense strength training sessions with Trey and his team, as well as nutritional support, I had dropped 2 dress sizes! Their approach is fun, personalized, and caring and I can't say enough about the support I've received from Midtown Trainers to reach my fitness goals.That being said, I may have been tempted to stop there - but I'm so glad I didn't. Since then, I honestly have been pleasantly surprised to have achieved even more success than I anticipated when hiring a personal trainer. In addition to dropping sizes, I can also say my posture has improved, my energy level is off the charts, and most recently I reached a personal best for my Half Marathon time by shaving off 15 minutes from my previous finish times!! I have been working out at Midtown Trainers for almost a year now, and I still think it was the best decision I have ever made. I walked in, very skeptical (having met with three trainers previously and not connecting with any of them), embarrassed about my appearance, and nervous for the future. I had my consultation with Trey, and he spent a lot of time going over things with me and making me feel comfortable. He was honest, straightforward, and very informative. We talked not only about my workout goals, but diet plans, nutrition, and more.I work out at Midtown Trainers typically 4 days a week with Trey, and I love it. I never feel self-conscious or neglected. My workouts are fresh, fun, and I am always given a lot of variety. Whenever I am with my trainer, they are always 100% focused on me, whether it be helping me keep count of reps, correcting my form so I don't injure myself, or encouraging me when I feel like I can't go on, they are there. When Trey has had other obligations or is booked, he always makes sure that I either work with another trainer or he goes out of his way to accommodate to my schedule. I am so eternally grateful for Trey and all of the staff at Midtown Trainers, they helped me out of a very dark place in my life. Trey is so dedicated to his clients that he even allows them to text him whenever they want. When I injured my back, Trey lent me a back brace and helped so much in my recovery that even my physician was shocked with the rate of my healing. Having been there for so long, I have had the pleasure of working with all of the trainers, and they are all fantastic. Midtown Trainers has fun outings for members frequently which I really enjoy going to. They also have gym-wide 'Challenges', such as burning 5,000 calories in two weeks with prizes and swag. I was looking for a trainer to keep me motivated and push me beyond my comfort zone. I was always decent with cardio on my own, but I needed the guidance and encouragement of someone else. I found the answer at Midtown Trainers.I signed on for a 6-month contract, seeing Trey (or Ray) twice a week. Every single session was different, which is great, because you don't get used to specific movements--you are always challenging your body to do more. Since I don't have the best balance or coordination, some movements were a bit awkward at first but Trey provides great guidance.The studio is easy to get to and a good size (a huge place would've been intimidating to me)--and it's accessible even when you don't have a training session, so you can use the cardio equipment on your own.Trey also provides great advice on meal planning and massage therapy, giving you a holistic approach to staying healthy and fit. Fair warning: this review is for the massage therapists at Midtown Trainers, not the training itself. I can only assume the training's as good as the massage was.Like most all of my massages, this one started out as a deal on Living Social for a couple's massage. I snapped it up in seconds (especially after scoping out how close it was to where I live in the city).After a short series of back and forth emails between me, the gym owner and one of the masseuses on staff, we'd set a perfect weekend couples massage in early January.The morning of the massage, my boyfriend and I arrived right at 10, and Billy, the masseuse I'd corresponded with, greeted us at the door and let us in. Midtown Trainers is a little, private gym off of Piedmont near Cheshire Bridge underneath lots of apartments.When Billy ushered us in, we met his coworker, a female masseuse whose name I didn't catch and they showed us in to the massage room. It was actually a smaller workout room for the gym, but since we were doing a couples massage, they needed more room for the tables than the normal massage room allowed. No problem though, the kettlebells and dumbells were arranged against the walls, the massage tables had heated blankets on them, the lights had been dimmed a bit and some relaxing, nature music was playing.We undressed and got under the covers and then the two masseuses came back in and got to work. The oil my lady used was a little chilly at first, but she did an excellent job of working it into my back, my neck, my legs - everything. And she had very strong hands (in the best way) - when she was massaging my calves (which I didn't realize were so tight!), I had to remind myself to breathe through the strokes, knowing she'd be done soon. It was very good. The best part though was the head massage she gave me right before we finished the session: she really kneaded in there with vigor leaving me with super frizzy hair but the best feeling at the same time.As usual, the hour long massage flew by in no time, and by the time we sat up and got dressed it was hard to believe it was already 11. It took a couple of hours for the pillow dent I got in my forehead to disappear (a common occurrence for me and massage table headrests), but MAN it was worth it.I'd definitely go back to Midtown Trainers for another massage if they offered it. I had been working with the same trainer for over five years and unfortunately after doing the same repetitive single motion exercises over and over, I had developed some injuries and was feeling really defeated with my fitness goals. Then in July, I met Trey and he designed a new fitness and nutrition program custom tailored to my specific needs. Trey has really opened my eyes and my knowledge base on so many levels. We are working through the injuries by developing strength in the surrounding muscles while simultaneously developing increased core strength and endurance. He is teaching me that form comes first and that's the foundation. He is patient with me when I need extra guidance. His studio is extremely clean and has a great energy and he is constantly engaged in improving it with new equipment and the latest innovative technologies. It was time for me to take my fitness goals to the next level and Midtown Trainers and Trey has helped me achieve that. I cant wait to see the results that we will accomplish together as time progresses.I would highly recommend Trey or any of his trainers to anyone who wants to challenge their fitness goals. More...

For me, finding a trainer was just as much about tone and physical strength as it was about balance and mental clarity.  My priorities had shifted to career growth, leaving a limited amount of will power left to get me to the gym. Trey worked with me to help me find more of a balance that included an analysis of my goals, my nutritional needs, and my competitive nature.
