Mia's Bathhouse

Mia's had an opening immediately the same day after Harlem Doggie Day Spa on 147th street baited me over the phone by telling me the groom begins at $75. When I brought my teacup poodle there, the groomer said $125 for a lamb cut, which made me furious because I called and made an appointment and informed the receptionist I want a lamb cut. The receptionist made no mention of different pricing for lamb cut, only that pricing varies by state of pet fur and size and temperament of dog, and the groomer kept saying idiotic sayings like you wont know the price until you get here and I assess the animal, like WTF dude, at least give customers a range to the most it could he so someone like me doesnt show up with less than what they wanted to charge so I wasted time and money in a cab uptown and was turned away. Only good thing was they refunded my $20 deposit and I jus so happened to be there when the groomer was tossing out wee wee pads, so yay for me...When I called Mia, who is only 2 blocks away on 145th street , they said come now and told me the lamb cut is only 75$! The establishment is way more advanced, efficient and friendlier, not sterile and bland and empty, like at Harlem Doggie daycare, Mia's even has 2 tubs you can wash your own animal in, and a small area to shop for items. The prices are also publicly made, unlike Harlem doggie daycare, who hides their prices until you get there , where they shock you with an inflated price, BTW, my puppy's lamb cut was BOMB! Great customer service, it's always clean and they respect your wishes. I have a Cane Corso and he isnt the friendliest dog, so I've requested that they show me how things work, but I'll proceed without assistance. That was 2 years ago. This places is super cheap, but the reason because I recommended is for self wahs, you come with your dog and you washed is cost 1 dollar for min , they have everything the brush, the shampoo, blow dry and more.

My new GO-TO groomer! No question. I found them through the Nextdoor app when I asked for a recommendation for an affordable groomer. Not only is Mia's BathHouse in an amazing location on 145th street between major train lines, their customer service from the very first phone call was fantastic! They are friendly, they walk you through exactly what it is that you want and they offer $10 off to new clients. When I arrived I realized that I didn't have my vaccination records for my dog (a 1 year old, 9lb, yorkie mix) which they did ask me to bring. So one of the workers called ACC (where I adopted him) and verified all of his vaccination records for me. Then I wanted a specific haircut for him but because he had some matting around his neck they called me to let me know that they would not be able to do the cut that I wanted and just to make sure that that was OK. And his haircut looks great! He had no nicks, cuts, or bloody marks. And I know he is a difficult dog to handle! I take my Lab here every three weeks for the self-dog-wash and we have so much fun. She's starting to enjoy the experience. It's relaxing for both of us, it saves my back and saves the apartment's plumbing! The dog bath is safe for the dog no matter its size and it's easy to use. The attendants have helpful suggestions. Any dog owner understands the headache that comes with bath day; wet dog hair everywhere, towels drenched from your wet pooch, and let's not forget the after-bath clean up. When Mia's Bathhouse moved to the neighborhood we were thrilled. Finally, a place to wash our boy at a very reasonable cost. We LOOOOVED it here! We will never wash our French Bull Mastiff at home again. Being that Roxy is a 105 lb mastiff it costs us a fortune just to give her a decent bath. We found this shop on YELP and said let's give it a shot. BOY ARE WE GLAD WE DID. We had a blast spending quality time with our pup and giving her a nice deep wash.  Depending on a groomer sometimes doesn't really get the dog as clean as you would like it. Everything in this shop is brilliant. Christina (the attendant) was so sweet and offered to help us out! The price OMG $20 for 20 minutes! AMAZING!  Roxy usually cost $75 and up at a groomer. We love this new addition to our neighborhood. NEVER will we wash our bulldog in the tub again!  Set up like a "wash your own" car wash, we were able to soap, condition, rinse and dry our dog easily and efficiently. The washing pens are set up in a way allows for easy scrubbing access and (for some reason) our dog was calm throughout the procedure. They provide bibs for owners so one doesn't leave the place soaked.While you can have a professional do it, we took the "do it yourself" option to save a few bucks- and frankly because it was kind of fun. They also groom and sell a few products. So happy to avoid the dreaded dog bath time at home- and the cleanup and hassle that follows. The owner is friendly and helpful.
