I'm a big fan of this place! I've done catering orders with them twice and each time, Norm was incredibly helpful and ensured everything was taken care of and done exactly how we wanted it. The flavors are always good and their tofu is excellent! It's hard to find a place with good tofu, but this is it! I'm also a big fan of their macaroni salad and veggie spring rolls. Something to be mindful of is that there are not a ton of gluten-free options because of some of the sauces used, so be careful if you're coming here expecting that.I came in to eat at the actual location a few days ago, and once again Norm ensured everything was great and made sure we had everything we needed. Good food, good portions, good service. Our maiden voyage at Mama's. I had the pork sandwich, husband had the big kahuna with fries and macaroni salad. All the meats are tender and tasty. The BBQ and hot sauce are outstanding! Hubby really enjoyed the macaroni salad. The fries were crispy but unremarkable. The service? Stellar! The guy at the counter might have been the manager. The Teri beef flavor was great and the meat wasn't too fatty. Kalua pork and chicken katsu were also very good. Very disappointed that the rice wasn't sticky rice. Customer service was great. We were told everything is made to order but the spam musubi came out cold in the middle like it had been reheated. Mac salad was ok, tasted a lot like mainland style though. Close to authentic, just the rice is not sticky, all their ingredients are HI grade except for the rice, will definitely take my family there for dinner again ,we will just have to order different sides until they upgrade to sticky medium grain rice as a choice for their plates. I planned my visit to Mama's by going on a 2 hour hike with my niece, I built up an adequate appetite for a hot Hawaiian breakfast of Loco Moco. . The restaurant was clean, as it should be shortly after opening and before the rush. There was reggae music playing in the background. My niece recognized the song and started singing the lyrics. All this commentary goes toward describing the pleasant aloha atmosphere at Mama's place. I like take out delivered and always looking for something new. I ordered the Hawaiian Chicken Sandwich & side salad. The chicken breast was grilled to perfection, and top with pineapple. I love this place! It's a little bit pricey but I think it's well worth it! The Kalua pork and coconut shrimp are my favorite. The salad is actually a really good mixture of greens and veggies (not those cheap iceberg lettuce salads that everyone else tries to give you). Don't forget to sauce it up when you are there!
